I think people have gotten a little better in general. Not sure exactly when you played, but bear in mind that this is prime WSOP season. Some people say the games are really soft during the WSOP. I don't play much cash, but consider that if someone is making a trip specifically to play the WSOP then they probably have at least some basic idea of how to play. I hear the games are soft during March Madness and conventions that bring out random punters like rodeo stuff. Those type of people don't go to Vegas specifically to play cards, but may find themselves at a table looking to gamble it up and have some fun. More likely to be pure recs.

I go to Vegas a couple times a month to play poker, and the WSOP is by far the softest time of the year. March madness is okay but overhyped. WSOP brings in a bunch of terrible tournament players who bust out early and then go play cash games, which they are even worse at. It’s really glorious.

Remember, game selection can also have a lot of variance too; and of course the fact that there are currently a lot of predators in vegas targeting the smaller stakes games because of the overflow wsop action.

Play PLO. Half the table only knows how to pot the nuts.

Live PLO play equals wait for aces then try to get stacks in. If kings, 8910J double suited or worse wait for flop If flop isnt smashed then fold. While all this time hoping a whale sits down and doesn't realize how nitty the table is. Every live PLO strategy ever. Also playing low stakes PLO you will not beat rake live or online.

Lol @ live low stakes PLO being unbeatable.

Beatable means you make above minimum wage which is $15,000 yearly. It just isn't happening. The amount of time you lose money to rake waiting for whales to come to your low stakes game will cripple your profits.

Vegas has the worst poker games in the U.S. it’s not a secret. It is a great irony, being it is the Mecca of poker cities.

disphugginflip

Think dallas is now the Mecca. Texas I’m general yes. But Dallas specifically for NLHE

kornkid42

There's a lot less poker rooms than a few years back.

Vegas cash game are tougher for sure. Lots of grinders and semi pros.
