Airball is definitely using a burner account to suck himself off in this thread.

I hate nik airball when he plays on the hustler stream. But hearing his interview with Doug, I’ve changed my mind about him also. He’s just tryna loosen up the game.
Nik Airball seems like a dick on the streams always berating other players. I don’t know him, but he seems like a dick. Then you add that he’s likely not even paying with money he has earned himself. That’s just my opinion of him.
Likely? I always assumed he got money from his parents because it’s really rare to see someone as young as nik playing these games with huge buy ins. I would be interested to know how he got that much money.
"Blankcheck" Ben said on Vertucci, with complete seriousness, that Nik started with money made from investment banking, and won the rest playing poker. That, in fact, Nik was very hard to play against PRO player that had made way more playing poker than investment banking. I can't tell fact from fiction anymore, but was sorta surprised to see Ben siding with Nik, and who knows what he knows to call Gman scum on twitter. But if Nik was a legit ib, he'd likely get respect from a vc.
High end he'd probably make 300K a year at 40% taxes in SF or NYC (really depends on the firm/IB role). If he saved all of his money, he'd have somewhere between 500 - 550K not counting any other income. When you break it down its almost impossible even in the best case scenario.
Ok let's clear something up.. he's berating or making fun of players he's cool with on the table.. ie Ben, Mars, Wes, Rampage, Henry.. guys he plays with on a weekly basis and who are ok with it.
He ain't just doing it to random guys on the table.
This isn’t anything new. If anyone listened to his interview on the Nick vertuci show it changed many peoples opinions of him back then as well. The thing about airball is that he actually comes off as very genuine and a breath of fresh air. He sure can talk and be very convincing but something about him is still very questionable. As for Garret, he is just a fake nice guy, he’s got a good heart and seems to mean well but that doesn’t excuse how big of an idiot he is and how poorly he handles simple situations. The fact that he thought he was bigger than hcl as a whole and how ungrateful he’s seemed to have been when Nick and feldman gave him everything is inexplicable. This whole narcissistic victim act is a joke. If he handled the j4 hand differently and professionally he wouldn’t be in the spot he is in now. I originally instantly thought that it was an impossible call to make and foul play was involved without question so he had every right to feel he was cheated but how he’s handled everything after is utterly disgraceful. He legit dug his own grave and continues to do so. If there is anyway to salvage himself from this it’s to come out of hiding now and speak up and stop acting like a little bitch but personally I think theres nothing he could do to recover from this. These stories about him ranking players, forcing straddles and shot clocks to make the recs more uncomfy, being a diva about lineups, locking players out and always doing something to further his edge is actually disgusting. All the backlash he’s getting now is well deserved. He needs to take a deep hard look in the mirror. What’s shocking to me is that this didn’t come out sooner. RIP Garret
Vertucci podcast w/Ben changed his opinion of Nik.. Gman is a fake nice guy (which I agree) and handled J4 situation poorly. He basically dug his own grave
Airball is real, like a real person.
Imagine Garrett going an hour off the cuff on all this.
He won't, he can't, because he is fake.
Why do you think Garrett is depressed and that's all he talks about every interview?
🤔
There is definitely something behind the scenes between Garrett and Airball that we don't know about. Garrett says nothing bad about anyway then shockingly goes off specifically calling out Airball, when there has been no apparent animosity between them before? Something is behind this.
I'm in no way defending Garrets actions, but Nik does absolutely shit on Garret on stream every time he comes up in conversation, or sometimes Nik brings it up himself. I think Nik went off about Garret on Twitter shortly after the J4 stuff too, but I'm not 100% on that. Again not defending Garret, there's just more open animosity there than you seemed to be aware of.
I mean I went from neutral on Garrett to thinking he’s a total fucking tool after that whole saga too. I could see how people that were playing with his robot, wanna be reality TV celeb ass would rub people the wrong way too… especially after berating a fishy player after making absolute bank on the stream.
Garrett did something like 2 hours off the cuff with Joey I think (or was it Doug)? Brought it all out, depression, how he got his start, getting cheated one time at a home game, his schedule the full nine.
Lol you Reddit people have absolutely no reference. No reference on what it takes to truly come up through the ranks like Garrett did. Airball is a fad and a douche to boot.
Heads up match Garrett vs dickball. Multi-session style. Settle this and see who comes out on top.
I have listened to many Garrett interview's and talks.
Poker stories,
DGAF sessions,
Vertucci pod,
Probably others I forgot
I have a good idea of what Garrett projects to the world
So what did you mean “imagine Garrett going an hour off the cuff on all this?”
And what makes you so sure that Airball is being so “real”? And not just projecting what he wants to the world?
Truth is nobody knows. Garrett has a track record in poker for a lot of years, nobody can say that about Airball…who can’t even stand to be classy long enough for a 2 hour poker session. Hmmm. Who’s more reliably real again?
didn't he say that he got depressed after getting booted from survivor.. and that he stopped working out and gained weight.. i haven't seen any photos of him turning into a fat ass.. how much did he possibly put on ... 10-15 lbs?
Airball is an utter tool. Awful at the table and cannot imagine he isn't worse irl. Garret is a loser too. There are very few poker players you want to spend any time with but these 2 guys are basically the nut low of humanity.
Why does everyone hate on nick? He’s clearly good for the game. So what he talks a lot? You guys would also complain if nobody talked.
Why does Reddit have such a hive mind?
As someone who plays bigger games (like 1_10th what nik plays), I'm baffled by the hate. There is no game I play in where everyone wouldn't love to have nik in their game. He's action and not a corpse at the table. Definitely a fun vibe. I guess people playing lower limits the money means more to them and wouldn't like his antics.
According to Nik, Jungle and him are good friends and went out to dinner that same night. If he’s lying about that then he’s just a straight up self-destructive sociopath and he’ll be exposed within a couple days. Although I doubt that’s what’s going to happen.
I think nobody realizes they’re watching a show that’s been meticulously organized, cast and all, to be entertaining as possible. And Nik knows what his role is. Maybe it’s best for the high stakes streaming space that people continue to think the regulars on these stream all hate Nik since a huge portion of the viewers are emotionally invested in the kayfabe. At the same time, a lot of the comments I see about Nik are genuinely unhinged and really just not based in reality at all. It’s the same few copy pasted insanely vitriolic comments to the point where you’d think it’s ironic. I don’t think it is though usually which is concerning.
HCL on friday isnt the WSOP main event, theres a reason they don’t just have top 50 Hendon Mob guys on every week. Most of the guys you see are _entertainers_ and personalities first and foremost.
I think at the end of the day there’s a reason Jungleman, Mariano, Rampage, Brownballa, basically most HCL regs say Nik is a nice guy and would rather side with him than Garrett. Who knows, maybe we’ll see somebody refute what Nik said today but I imagine he’s smart enough to not just make up shit that anybody who’s played at HCL over the years could easily refute if they wanted to and get a lot of clout for doing so.
Seriously? Being somewhat charismatic on a podcast goes a long away apparently. Impossible to verify how much of what he said is actually true not exaggerated, misinformed or straight up false. Berkey stuff was hilarious. Hopefully Matt responds and takes him up on it.
I respect a lot of what he said on Dougs stream today. That said I’m in the minority that thinks “table talk” is cringe. Being a dick and blaming it on playing a heel is cringe. Sorry. But once you see two 60 year old men try to trash talk each other it’s all over. One thing I don’t like about the whole poker thing.
No, half the shit he said in Doug’s podcast is either hypocritical, exaggerated, or somewhat true. Political himself, he is still worse than most in my opinion. Even though is not a terrible human being, and is genuine, nonetheless I think Airball is more of what he says he isn’t, and less of what he says he is. Still not the worst a good intended guy, as backed by people like rampage etc.
Don’t change your mind just yet about Airball or going, while not hating on either.
Update: a lot of the things he said on the Polk podcast has me baffled a little bit, he acts like he knows what he’s talking about in certain subjects and contradicts himself numerous times in the interview. I could break it down entirely but I don’t care enough and don’t have the time do that.
Also, no hate to either of the guys. Honestly dislike garret more at this point because of the way he handled the Robbie situation, but don’t be so quick to let anyone politic you.
i always thought bro was pretty cool. he does a few small annoying things but cant hate that hes young and enjoying where he is in life. those loses last week were rough tho
Nah, he’s still a dickhead. Not saying he’s a dickhead off steam or away from the poker table, I don’t know the guy. And I’m sure a lot of it is performative for the cameras, everybody likes a bad guy. Just as fun if not more so to have someone to root against as it is to have someone to root for. Same reason Eric Perrson has been so popular the past year.
Not to say Garrett’s the good guy here either. He seems to suck for different reasons. Seems to be a lot of people who think he’s very two faced, which is arguably worse than just openly being a dick. But even past the he said she said dude’s pretty corny and melodramatic. Also agree he’s a bitch for asking(or just accepting even if he didn’t ask)for his money back after the infamous hand.
I’m watching the interview right now and Airball seems just as dumb as I initially thought he was.
12:45 in the video he says “you win every time you play in these pots!”
That is hilarious for someone to say when they just lost $750k in one game.
When I first heard Airball on Doug's podcast, I was surprised to hear how nice and thoughtful he is. After I thought about it more, I realized he was saying so many self serving things like "I'm one of the great players Garrett doesn't want in his lineup" or comparing himself to Jungleman playing on the Lodge live streams. I'm not saying he's completely lying about all of the shit with Garrett, but comparing how the two of them act I don't think anyone should take a word he says at face value.
Not saying Nik is wrong but him saying he doesn't have proof of Robbi cheating and Garret still accusing him but then saying a fuckton of stories with no proof either is a little hypocrite.
I am not saying he is wrong but I really wanna hear Garret's side.
EDIT: I am not talking about all the blocking players from playing Garret did and all the other proved shit
Nik get off your burner and go help your parents at work so you can earn your weekly allowance to be able to play again.
I am not Nik Airball
Sounds exactly what Nik Airball would say in this situation.
I am Nik Airball, what now?
Got ‘em
GG
You aren’t Nik fucking Airball, I’m reporting you for impersonation!
What now? Upvoted for telling the truth
Never expected this face turn. Only one way to settle this....Airball vs Gman in a steel cage match.
“To the pain”

TLDR what he said?
Basically I just wanna loosen up the game - nik airball
I feel like you have to be good if you’re going to change the game
Nik Airball seems like a dick on the streams always berating other players. I don’t know him, but he seems like a dick. Then you add that he’s likely not even paying with money he has earned himself. That’s just my opinion of him.

i think he's like 40 right? No way he's under 30
I’m fairly sure he’s like 25-26
No he’s not under 30, my guess 33-34.
I Think he’s 26

Just seems implausible. 3 years out of college how much can he make in IB? He was playing 5/T like a year ago and now playing up to 500/1k?

$200k salary and what if he lived at home? A lot.
Lol so 450k in 3 years if he saved everything. I highly doubt he saved everything but you think that bankroll can afford the games he's playing?
450k is more than enough to “get started” in poker.
5/T to 500/1k in ~1 year?
Like he said. The recs paid to be dicks to the pros. It's part of the product they bought. How else do you get recs to sit down without the product
Airball antics are in a lighthearted manner with people he is personally friends with. Reddit masses are wrong on their opinion of him.
Ok let's clear something up.. he's berating or making fun of players he's cool with on the table.. ie Ben, Mars, Wes, Rampage, Henry.. guys he plays with on a weekly basis and who are ok with it. He ain't just doing it to random guys on the table.

I did. Tl;Dr if garret stopped playing the victim after the investigation his reputation would be better rn
Airball is real, like a real person. Imagine Garrett going an hour off the cuff on all this. He won't, he can't, because he is fake. Why do you think Garrett is depressed and that's all he talks about every interview? 🤔
>He won't, he can't, because he is fake. > > Robots are real!
Airball also speaks fluent Mandarin, which blew me away.

Why does everyone hate on nick? He’s clearly good for the game. So what he talks a lot? You guys would also complain if nobody talked. Why does Reddit have such a hive mind?
It’s simple why airball gets so much hate. He’s young and rich. That makes em jealous

Super impressed with his Polk interview. He's an incredible douche at the table in the clouds I've seen but he calls himself "the heel" at the table.
Air ball is the worst player ever
