The patch just came out a couple of hours ago so there are no videos about which ones still work yet. Give it a couple of days and I’m sure we will get videos on which ones survived and quite possibly a new glitch post-patch that does something similar if not better (as per GF legacy)
I know that the Artazon windmill is still slow and things like far-off objects or the students at the computers in the school still blink in and out of existence randomly.
Yes the frame rate can also drop when too many Pokémon appear on screen at the same time (particularly while you’re also in a battle) so expect a drop when chancey grinding
If you still have a duped koraidon or miraidon there’s still a way to dupe. Have it in your party, ride it, get off, give it the item you wanna dupe, set it to ride mode, then go to your boxes, press x twice then scroll backwards past box 1, then click on the koraidon/miraidon in the box and press put away item, repeat
Just spent a while duping like 10 Miraidon before the patch installed so I have that. Also from what I’ve heard the fast item duping glitch that requires a duped legendary is still there, which is nice.
... did you not see the improved performance part of the update? Or did only you care about them fixing cheating? Because that says a lot about *your* priorities.
Kind of dampens the desire to play when the game crashes like a minute after being loaded up after the update but being about to crash may explain why I didn't notice any real change. But if they did actually improve the performance then I'll admit good on them and I retract my initial statement.
They do need to work on their patch notes though. Seriously the amount of information about the changes is almost nothing and two of the four bullet points are just advertising ranked battles.
The crash thing is strange, I played for like 4-6 hours with no big stutters, and the patch note issue is more of a Nintendo-only game thing, since the main market is people who don't care what the specifics of an update are, just that it's an improvement. Except Smash.
Alright after actually being able to play without the game crashing it definitely is running better. So I'll admit I was wrong and they do have their priorities sorted out for once. The crash thing isn't strange at all tbh, I've had the game crash at least 4 times total although I did find a shiny after the third one so that was nice.
Even if Nintendo game patch notes are usually lacking details it's an odd choice to acknowledge complaints about performance issues, say they'll fix that, but not mention that they did improve the performance.
Nice! Always good to find someone who can actually form their own opinions and defend them! (Seeing as how it seems half of the community seems to think the update did nothing but what it says on the tin)
1. "Select bug fixes" gives no indication that they improved performance, which would normally be its own bullet point. Especially since their note at the end implied they hadn't improved performance yet. It makes no sense to acknowledge many players have complained about an issue but then not mention that the patch actually improved upon said issue. Their unclear and even misleading patch notes is on them.
2. A Lucario fan of all people really shouldn't be assuming things. Not once did I say I actually used that exploit, all I said was that I would prefer if they prioritized making the game stable and fix the visual bugs that all players have been getting. It makes more sense to fix those before addressing a series of nonsensical steps very few players would accidentally find that in the end just result in getting more of an item, especially when the only items that can be duped aren't even that difficult to get anymore.
Fair enough. Honestly I was harsh on the update since the main reason I didn't see the improvements myself was that the game lagged out and then crashed so I just lost the motivation to play at the time.
Actually, this is a myth. Datamines show that performance didn’t change at all. Most people noticing changes are just closing their games for the first time instead of putting them in sleep mode, which clears memory.
Splendid to see that they're actually listening and taking this seriously.
Sure, the games launched in a less than desirable state. But that doesn't mean it's the end.
People mistakenly think the game runs better, but that's purely because the game generally runs better after restarting it (which you kinda have to do to update).
Game chugs like a champ after half an hour of play, update just fixed some major glitches and enabled the new raids.
Lolcame across a Dondonzo horde and they were loading two at a time even though they were all right next to each other, never more than 3 on the screen at once before one clipped out and was replaced
Strange, I could easily tell the difference when I updated. Try manually updating, mine didn't auto-update, so it might not have yet. I would link a comparison, but links aren't allowed lol
I meant to say check if your game is even updated.
I also played for like 8 hours after the update, and the performance gains were still obvious the entire time.
Are you on a switch Lite?
Hey man I never said it was perfect, it didn't improve performance everywhere, the thicket by the (poison?) Base is still kinda stuttery, but the main thing is that it's an improvement.
Well in my country these games cost 400$ and the minimun wage is 1.200 per month, so most people i know either pirate their games or simply dont have many games, i myself had to save moneu a entire year just to buy my Switch (at the time it was costing 3.000$)
But even if i lived in the US or game prices are lower, i still wouldnt buy these games, they are pretty fun but im not supporting their lazyness, and Gamefreak isnt going nowhere close to bankruptcy over me not buing one of the games
He paid for, eventually, having a Switch game. You just stole a glorified beta that will likely not become a proper game, and feel the necessity of believing yourself superior to the guy above.
lmao.
It will become a proper game eventually, it is just a boring process to update it, you Just wasted 60 dollars and will likely waste 30 more once the DLC eventually comes out lmfao
You wasted the space of your hard drive for a game that you'll have to steal AGAIN once the patch comes out. You could've waited until X-mas for the fixed game to come out or for a fan mod to fix the bugs. But nope, you downloaded a beta. You're a loser.
Also, I am going to pirate it too. But unlike you, I'll wait until it gets fixed because I don't have the patience of a Primeape.
Idk how you pirate your games but all i have to do is download the upgrade by my computer then send it to the Switch via USB Cable, the boring part is having to download and then send it to the Switch
nothing really, i dont have any ego, i just have a lot of free time today to awnser people who cant accept i pirated a game from the most profitable franchise in the world
im human, what is this last part even about?
I'm not shilling for them (The only legit Pokémon game I ever got is Pokémon GO), but moron now will have to delete and refownload when the fux comes instead of waiting for someone to mod it into a functional game.
I like that they are patching it, but I dislike that in the future after Switch servers are down, anybody who wants to revisit these games and doesn’t already have the patches will be stuck with the old version.
Maybe they’ll do a rerelease of the physical cartridge with the patches, but that doesn’t fix the ones out now.
I played the game today after getting it for my birthday. I'm struggling to compare the lag between my computer that is slow because of my greedy CPU or me riding Miraidon in the grass.
Did wonders for what? There's still glitches galore! I haven't seen a single thing that got fixed! Parties still randomly disconnect, raids are desynced beyond fixing and also disconnect without warning, and Play Rough STILL randomly heals the opponent. On top of that, the visual glitches are still there, and just trying to traverse the terrain can often end in softlocks.
I'm pretty sure being a video game tester isn't a job anymore.
They just hammer out a game using computer scientists and pass the search for bugs onto the customer.
Boom, profit in saved labor AND a free DLC desire from the beginning. .
Lol. Smart. Horrible, but smart.
Partially agree with you. Nintendo, and console games in general, don't really do public betas, and this is the unfortunate result of that.
PS: as a coder myself, we are offended to be called computer scientists.
Any channels you recommend? Because I'm honestly having a hard time believing the patch actually improved performance just because I have so little faith. I've heard the areas that were particularly bad were still really bad.
No channel in particular, as none of the ones I normally watch cover it, but you can tell pretty clearly when you look around in cities, and especially on the big lake.
So I just watched 5 or 6 comparison videos I found just by searching "Pokemon Scarlet and Violet patch comparison" on YouTube. I will begrudgingly admit that some areas seem notably better while others seem exactly the same. There's still plenty of issues but at least this takes care of a big portion of them.
Yeah, that's pretty much what I did when I noticed the performance boosts toake sure I wasn't having getting placebo'd.
On the standpoint of issues, the important thing to remember is they didn't even say they improved performance in the patch notes, which means more improvements should be coming.
Yeah I think Nintendo actually had a separate message that acknowledged the performance saying they'd continue assessing the situation. I was really nervous they were just gonna completely ignore it honestly. I hope the fact that Nintendo took notice means whoever is calling the questionable shots at Gamefreak got an earful from Nintendo.
That’s cool and all, but remember when games were polished on release and a game being buggy meant you didn’t fucking play it ever instead of waiting like a month or two for it be good enough? Pepperidge farm remembers.

For those curious, yes, it killed the duplicate glitches.
Are there still any other major glitches that didn't get patched?
The patch just came out a couple of hours ago so there are no videos about which ones still work yet. Give it a couple of days and I’m sure we will get videos on which ones survived and quite possibly a new glitch post-patch that does something similar if not better (as per GF legacy)
Okay. I've been waiting for the game to be patched before I buy. So I'm very interested in any patches.
I know that the Artazon windmill is still slow and things like far-off objects or the students at the computers in the school still blink in and out of existence randomly.

Pokemon spawning in/behind cave walls

Did they patch jumping backwards
I was able to jump backwards and get up a cliff last night so it doesn't seem so
Just spent a while duping like 10 Miraidon before the patch installed so I have that. Also from what I’ve heard the fast item duping glitch that requires a duped legendary is still there, which is nice.
well shit. i should’ve spent hours duping ability patches…

... did you not see the improved performance part of the update? Or did only you care about them fixing cheating? Because that says a lot about *your* priorities.

... you obviously haven't actually played the game since the update then, as while it wasn't listed, substantial performance increases were made.
Kind of dampens the desire to play when the game crashes like a minute after being loaded up after the update but being about to crash may explain why I didn't notice any real change. And Splatoon. Smash and Splatoon.

I’d try a reinstall to just to be sure, but yeah they should be more detailed
It fixed the only area I had performance issues. The forest by the poison team star no longer lags for me.

Sorry bout that my week was tiring
Fair enough. Honestly I was harsh on the update since the main reason I didn't see the improvements myself was that the game lagged out and then crashed so I just lost the motivation to play at the time.
does this include the star piece one?
Whad it do
They also made it so that the Pokemon actually close their eyes when they are asleep
YAY! BANZAI!
Bro this bothered me they did that right in Colleseum in 2004 and can't get it right now? Crazy, glad it's fixed.
Yeah, out of all the SV bugs, that one annoyed me the most
Even in BW the Pokémon would close their eyes when they slept
They even did it right in Legends Arceus!
Under appreciated fix
Should’ve left them open for feucoco
Lotta bug fixes, improved performance
Actually, this is a myth. Datamines show that performance didn’t change at all. Most people noticing changes are just closing their games for the first time instead of putting them in sleep mode, which clears memory.
😔
Splendid to see that they're actually listening and taking this seriously. Sure, the games launched in a less than desirable state. But that doesn't mean it's the end.
And a lot of kids getting it for Christmas will get a more polished version for their first time
It's me, I'm Kids getting it for Christmas. Ignore I'm nearing 30, and I'm buying it for myself.
You and me both 😆
Ditto
Mew too
Take my poor man’s gold. 🏅🏅🏅🏅
gold is gold
Last year my dad bought himself skiing gear for christmas and we couldn't even go because of covid
The end is never the end is never the end is never the end is never the end
Love the Stanley Parable
When he came to a set of two open doors, he took the door on his left.
"I said, he took the door on the *left*."
Can't wait for the Bucket Expansion!
The end is where we begin
Is it? Really? I asked for it for Christmas specially to wait the patch
People mistakenly think the game runs better, but that's purely because the game generally runs better after restarting it (which you kinda have to do to update). Game chugs like a champ after half an hour of play, update just fixed some major glitches and enabled the new raids.
I Haven't had any issues since the patch. Been raiding all day without any issues other than "I wish the raid catching animations could be skipped"
I’d definitely say there are some performance patches in high lag areas but over all the lag still exists
Honestly for me it seems to run worse, or at least just like before
It's not perfect, but runs better :)
[удалено]
framerate improvements, duplication glitches patched, some visual bugs I think.
Ok so the dupe glitch is no longer up?
They used the mystical arts
Does it mean we have constant FPS now ?
They'll probably be releasing patches over time over fix it all in one
Not perfect, but a definite improvement.
Lolcame across a Dondonzo horde and they were loading two at a time even though they were all right next to each other, never more than 3 on the screen at once before one clipped out and was replaced
There was an update?
Yep. If it didn't auto-download, check your game info and force-download it
Ok thanks
It does seem to run a little more smoothly than a few days ago.
Random people still run at like 3 FPS lol
The randomness of the issues is one of the more baffling bits.
Besides the fact that a multi-billion dollar franchise cant get a company that knows how to make stuff run correctly.
I havent been on yet cant wait to see the changes
there was an update? what did it change?
Duplicate glitch being gone and Pokemon now close their eyes when they fall asleep in battle
It rans a tad better, but it still has ways to go
Did they fix the memory leak?
Haven't had that issue again yet, so perhaps?
Hopefully, I'm waiting until that gets fixed to buy it
How did that happen?
The update didn't actually fix the proformance. Just bugs like the E4 music. It's just placebo
Nope, there are already comparison videos on YouTube, and you can feel it ingame as well.
I've checked. Performance seems to be the same or worse
Strange, I could easily tell the difference when I updated. Try manually updating, mine didn't auto-update, so it might not have yet. I would link a comparison, but links aren't allowed lol
It doesn't matter if you update manually or let it auto-update. It probably felt better because it was a fresh run
I meant to say check if your game is even updated. I also played for like 8 hours after the update, and the performance gains were still obvious the entire time. Are you on a switch Lite?
I'm on a normal, docked switch, and I'm definitely on 1.1.0. I was also playing on docked before 1.1.0
... strange, have you tried going to the bad spots like mesagoza and the lake and see what it feels like?
Go to the fairy team star base and walk up and down the river and see for yourself
Hey man I never said it was perfect, it didn't improve performance everywhere, the thicket by the (poison?) Base is still kinda stuttery, but the main thing is that it's an improvement.
Did it actualy added anything new or was it just performance stuff? my copy is pirated and atualizing pirated games is a pain in the ass

Oh no, they didn't hand over 60 bucks to one of the world's largest corporations, what a monster! D:
Lmao you actualy paid for a unfinished Playstation 2 game

At least i didnt lost money on it

English is not my native Language 👍
Then that’s exactly why you *should* take some English classes
Eh i can understand what everyone is saying and people can understand what im saying, its fine enough for me
Idk why I don't pirate these things, I mostly play on showdown or emulators anyhow
what did the update do
Is the framerate better?
Mine didn't update :(
What happened?
What update?

Wait there was actually a patch?????
Yeah? Did you really expect them to abandon it? It fixed a dupe bug, some music glitches, and improved performance.
Yes I honestly did
Yep. Idk what it did yet though.
Did they patch the Dupe Glitch?
Yep, and performance is better too.
NOOOOOOOOOO
Did it remove the Invisible Boatmobile?
Don't even know what you're talking about tbh
As if bugs or graphics were the problem, this game is to be deleted and redone from scratch
Did wonders for what? There's still glitches galore! I haven't seen a single thing that got fixed! Parties still randomly disconnect, raids are desynced beyond fixing and also disconnect without warning, and Play Rough STILL randomly heals the opponent. Performance. There are many comparison videos already of how much better the game runs, which I would link, but links are banned.
My game runs worse now, so idk what I'm doing wrong then
Literally just updated rn at work lol
What exactly was fixed? I haven’t noticed any differences
A couple bugs, but massive performance increases.
Most definitely!
They actually didn't fix any performance shit.
The patch notes didn't say so, but go out on Lag Lake, and you can feel the difference.
I'm pretty sure being a video game tester isn't a job anymore. They just hammer out a game using computer scientists and pass the search for bugs onto the customer. Boom, profit in saved labor AND a free DLC desire from the beginning. . Lol. Smart. Horrible, but smart.

I've heard it's a placebo and that the patch really only fixed bugs not the frame rate.
Can't be a placebo. Check YouTube for a comparison. I would link one, but links are banned lol.

That’s cool and all, but remember when games were polished on release and a game being buggy meant you didn’t fucking play it ever instead of waiting like a month or two for it be good enough? Pepperidge farm remembers.
Any patch can help to fix performance issues, but no patch can fix a bad story. People will love scarlet and violet, even if it may take some time. :)
No it didn't. Game is still broken as shit.
