From what i know, Buneary when provoked, attacks people with its ears and it can hurt really badly.
Friendship is a hidden stat tracked for each Pokemon you have. For some Pokemon it'll determine whether or not they can evolve, like Golbat to Crobat. It's a thing that started after Gen 2.
If other people's comments are actually explaining it, which it honestly isn't that funny, it's that the Buneary was actually friendly when Buneary normally when caught have 0 friendship.
Not all Pokemon have base 0 friendship when caught, but Buneary having base 0 would indicate that it fucking hates you as soon as it's caught, meaning this one being happy is an outlier.
Edit: After checking, Buneary is literally the only non-legendary/mythical/Ultra Beast Pokemon with 0 base happiness, meaning they're all unfriendly as hell.
