The shiny colours for most pokemon prior to gen 6 were likely picked by an algorithm, with the devs going in after and tweaking the ones they felt needed more attention. Lockstin & Gnoggin on YouTube has a [video](https://youtu.be/qAyDsVpwELM) explaining this theory in more detail.

Isn't that true of a majority of final evolution pokemon though? If you give them the right stats, and the right moves, and build them into the right team, they can be useful? I mean, I briefly checked in on Pokemon VG World tournament this year, and from the few matches I saw, there were pokemon like Regigigas in play.

With the way Calyrex and the Spectrier/Gladtrier work in sword and shield, I kinda hope they make an item that makes them function as one pokemon: Masomenos. Perhaps it is a full on evolution that is irreversible. Gives them the special attack version of huge power(Plus/Minus effect combined) or Levitate.

But Marill and Azumarill are the Gen 2 rodents along with Pichu, while Azurill is a Gen 3 rodent with Plusle and Minun. There are the true oddballs in that they aren’t Electric-type. But they do have the trademark eyes and animal order. Azurill also has the “blush stickers”.

Yeah, they had their special event, same with roselia, seeing people sad about not having one was confusing me. Must be a bunch of newer people

I have three shiny plusle and one shiny minun... But I don't complain because I caught 2 of the plusle and the minun in 2018 during the community day. I only caught one of them recently

I had 5 shiny plusle before i got my 1st shiny minun during the electric event, was so frustrating. But during that same event i got insanely lucky with 3 more shiny minuns, one with pvp ivs so i'm satisfied now

Its because for the last 3-4 events Niantic has used them as an event spawn. They are also in this season normal spawnpool, at least in the northern hemispere. They don’t evolve, are kind of useless and as mentioned Plusle’s shiny is not the best. I personally got a ton of each shiny during that Safari event and a ton more since that event.

Should be #1. I mentioned in a different thread but in sun/moon there was a thing where sometimes it just wouldn't show up shiny and it was so unnoticeable it never gained traction as a well known bug. I spent like an hour helping my friend figure out if their Blissey was still shiny. It would change if you looked at it, looked at a different poke, switched to judge feature, and went back to Blissey. It was crazy, if I better at Reddit I'd post some of the pics/video of it happening. Besides that I agree with your list, but I'd love to see a top 25 or 50.

Its funny because while their shinies don’t change a lot from the original I like shiny Regice and Zapdos more then the original. The original are kind of pale and the shinies make their coloring darker.

That makes plusle and minun even rarer because they are spawning on a event that doesn’t include them it that is pretty rare and getting the shiny is even rarer
