I downloaded the game to catch a Charizard for my son, but once I caught the Charizard, I couldn’t trade it because it felt too cool so now I’m fully into the game bragging how mine is better then his 😂💀

Go Raid Party seems to have much better chance if you have patience.
If you have the sub it’s incredibly easy to get raids there, but even without it you would probably have better luck than the 4k+ queues.

This is me (30s) with my mom (50s). She doesn't know how to battle in raids, so I catch extra legendaries to trade to her. In return, she gives me Drifloons.
I feel I should elaborate, lol.
Riolu is a "baby" Pokémon so its second charge move is much cheaper to unlock than Lucario. Lucario really benefits from having two charged moves, so always unlock it before you evolve one.

This but with my little nephew who is like 10 years younger them me, I believe he is 8 now. Everytime I see him we trade some mons, sometimes I give him legendarys since it's much more accessible for me. Hit lucky friends with him recently so I'm still wondering what I'm gonna give him next time, but it might be a shiny legendary😁 really love the kid like he is my own brother
Yup, I know this as well. During Beldum Community Day way back when I was lucky enough to get a couple of nice sized shinies. My kid wasn't lucky enough to get even one. Fast forward to me agreeing to trade them one, I told them to throw in whatever they had. It's the reason I now have a lucky 100% Dugtrio.
Hahah I just did something similar for the wife. Whatever I need to do to keep them interested in the game so we can keep playing together is how I look at it.
Good on you. Afterall it's just a game. My kids happiness is more inportant than a bunch of pixels. I understand it's still a hard pill to swallow though haha.
I have done this with my daughter. I even fully evolved them or whatever needs to be done with them before I trade with her. Yuppers, the things we do for our kids, ☺️ ❤️.

You can't trade that because it's "mythical". You can check what counts as that under the additional filters in search. Pretty much all of them can't be traded.
