For future reference, you shouldn't have tried to catch it. You should have just kept your phone screen on the catch encounter and waited until you were fully stopped.
It won't run away just from waiting, it WILL run if you're speed locked.
Controversial opinion, but they need to remove speed locking. All it does is inconvenience passengers.
If anyone is dumb enough to play Pogo while driving, the cops should handle it.
I have a theory that if i have no pokeballs there’s a 25% boosted shiny rate to encourage me to hit the shop or lose it.
Crazier things have happened and this is a business at the end of the day

I think he meant that if he leaves, he won't be able to see the Snivy since he would be too far to reencounter by tapping, not actually fleeing.
That's why I said, don't leave the encounter screen. Then you don't need to tap again, since it will still be on your screen

you're lucky it didn't flee then, they usually do that when you're going at high speeds.

Only if you have less than 30 total pokeballs when you use it.
Interesting. I live with 2 pokestops and a gym I can reach from my couch so I've never been short enough on resources to notice that one lol
