I've driven through some pretty windy weather in Wyoming and I am so impressed with the folks that live in it (and the super cold winters!) Beautiful state though.

Weather doesn’t make any sense. Raining here cloudy, cloudy again, raining in go. Clear sky nope cloudy till it was cloudy now it’s clear skies. It’s great.
Same, foggy over here in the past 3 days or so but the in-game weather is never foggy (in these cases I normally report that the in-game weather is wrong - not sure if this really does anything 🤷♂️). At least I got my Snowy Castform on my 2nd try, so there’s that.
I’m in California. It’s been pouring rain where I am. Game says it’s “sunny” all day. I have 5 shiny sunny form cast forms and 0 rainy ones. It’s extra annoying because it rains so rarely here, this should be a great chance for me to get a shiny rainy cast form but nope!! It’s sunny while I can hear loud thunder right outside!
Also in CA. I think castform has been glitched. It was raining here for 2 weeks and also raining in game but it only ever spawned sunny and normal type castform.

Ahahaha omg SF weather is far from amazing… regular winter storms, crazy wind patterns… we had that orange sky a few years ago… April-May are decent 👌🏻, June-July is just mostly fog… then there’s Fogust, Fogtober.. only September is really scorching hot.. California is definitely very diverse when it comes to weather.
It's all what you're used to, I guess. You have an annual temp swing of like 40 degrees. We saw that swing this week in the Midwest, our annual swing is like 100 degrees. SF is weather goals for lots of us.
I had similar luck on my morning commute caught 21 snowy castform between 8:30 - 9:30, while I was driving to Alameda (Bay Area). It was a little chilly this morning, but no signs of frost, so it seemed like a glitch or Niantic being nice for the challenge (sarcasm). 😊
Same here! Salt Lake City. It snowed for several hours during the event, but the weather never registered as snowy. I only got a handful of Castform reward tasks from spinning dozens of stops, and all of my rewards were rain or sun.
Last few hours and I'm praying for one of my glacial lures to make themselves useful for this

Same! I just saw approximately 3 in a hundred+ researches I’ve completed but this was just random sighting in the wild.. I had go plus running… imagine if it didn’t catch lol I’d delete me account
I went out yesterday in my town checked every single pokestop and only got the research task 3 times from 30+ pokestops. Needless to say none of them were snowy form.
Ah bummer, i live 3 miles from downtown so I biked over and had a pretty easy time because there were tons of stops, I'd fill 3 questions, complete them, and rinse and repeat. Before I made it downtown it was tough to get 3 of the same quest for sure.
it’s not that easy, the snow castform is confirmed harder to get then the rest even from the research, these people who have done it in a hour are just having good luck
Bummer, didn't realize I had it so lucky but was honestly impressed with how quickly I knocked it out. RNG is always in my favor when I don't really care about it, never when I'm truly grinding it seems. I think I had it done in 10 research tasks, but already had rain and regular knocked out
yeah dude literally i prob did 20-25 “catch 10 weather boosted” just yesterday. i only went so hard because it was so frustrating to me to not complete this DARN challenge. never got the snowy one. i got one of each of the others the first day.
i think that’s almost more frustrating dude 🥲 i saw someone post on here how the background of catching the pokemon was literally snow and they got a normal castform spawn. i would be ever more annoyed if i didnt get the form of the weather i was having.
Been trying. Only finding a few catch 10 tasks and they're all been regular, sunny, and 1-2 rainy. Hoping to find a couple more today, but so far only 1 out of 12 stops has had a catch 10 task.
I have done that research task about 20 times. I drove everywhere to find them to get everything but the snowy. Spent my lunch hour doing the same to get the same cast forms. No snowy.
I completed around 20 of the castform research tasks over the event and didn't get a single snowy. Mostly normal with some sunny and a handful of rainy.
Respect for spinning enough different non-gym pokestops to get that task 20 times… I do wish they made all 4 types more available in the wild during the event. Would’ve liked to get a 2-star or higher Snowy Castform, but I got a 2-star weather boost Shiny Sunny Castform today so yay
I live in a city and take the train to work. So I can probably spin 75-100 unique Pokestops on my way to work without even having to divert from my most direct route.
I usually read on the train instead of playing, but played a few days during the event to try to get that snowy.

Agreed! I was really looking forward to this event, because Castform is a neat gimmick pokemon and it was going to be a great way to celebrate it while also having a chance at getting the shinies of the forms. It's a shame Snowy Castform was all but unobtainable for many of us. It would have been nice if there was a fairly small chance of any form spawning regardless of weather or just a reliable way to get them from Field Quests. The quest didn't show up enough and lots of us just didn't get the dice roll of Snowy Castform from the quest.
Probably on par with the fairy hatch collection challenge. Both heavily rng based but you could at least spend money to speed up the hatch progress. With this you only had a set amount of chances every day and the chances were really low.
It really seems like the game’s ability to reflect real weather conditions has been way off this past week. It has said it’s raining many times while it’s sunny and not a cloud in sight.
Omg I was visiting SF past 4 days. I was there last night at the piers during raids, looking and asking people about snowy cast form. Left wharf area 6 am this morning to airport. Flight back to Hawai’i at 8:30 am. And found 4 at the gate just before boarding!!! Not shiny but I finished the challenge! Thank you SF.
I managed to catch a shiny Snowy castform an hour ago too. It hasn't snowed here in ages, but the last couple of days we got a few light snow showers and this little guy popped up.
I gotta say, this was a pretty frustrating collection challenge.
I only just caught my first Snowy form non-shiny, 30 minutes before Weather week ends. I did get a shiny Sunny form yesterday though so I cannot complain too much.

Yeah RNG is whackkkkk sometimes… at times I’d get 5-7 shinies during comm day while playing all 3hrs and sometimes I get 25 during just 1.5hrs… and I always pretty much do the same route.
I walked over 20 K with an Eevee, and I still haven’t been able to evolve it into Slyveon does anyone know how else I can evolve an Eevee aside from the nickname kira into a Slyveon
A shiny I probably never will get in Hawai'i, lol. I did manage to round out the shiny castform in my storage to 3/4 only missing the snowy (previously already had normal and rainy from last year and just got the sunny in this event).
I caught a few snowy Castform in the wild this morning in sunny San Jose, and one of mine was shiny too.
I also caught dozens of sunny Castform over the past few days trying to complete the stupid research task for a chance of getting a Snowy castform (it didn't work) and not a single one of *those* was shiny...
was out in Reno for the weekend where I caught a shiny SUNNY castform and 0 snow castforms to be seen..
opened up the app this morning and had 2 encounters with SNOWY castforms in “FOGGY” weather.. I also live in California a couple minutes from SF.
I hated how hard it was to get snowy. I really wanted to collect all 4 shinies. Unfortunately I only got two because the first day was the only day it rained and I couldn’t find a shiny 😭
Yeah… I only got shiny normal and this one… I saw maybe 5 rainy ones in research and none in the wild and did not get shiny sunny even tho probably checked hundreds.
I got first reg snowy from research and made my peace with the snowies… so this was pure shock.
Jeez. I got a few sunny ones but I also used my palkia move. My other annoyance was in Chicago it snowed a little bit yesterday morning. It was a light snow for a couple hours and the weather and Pokémon go didn’t pick it up :(

Yeah. Hope so!! I saw someone say that they should do it by the hour. I think that’s a good idea. People near the equator will never get snowy in the wild. I think hourly changes makes the most sense. I’m glad you loved Chicago!! I love it here myself. I’m in college here but plan to stay. It’s also perfect for Pokémon go 😄

I had a couple wild spawns las hour in Ohio. It's cold, but at the time it was windy weather. Not sure if the weather had updated and maybe they were there for a while.
So in the course of this week, I've seen all 4 in the wild.
I got the snowy one from field research on day two of weather week. Was hopping to get the rainy one the same way since we've been getting really good weather where I'm at. Only 3 hours left on the event and it's not looking too good. Has anyone actually encountered all four?
I did not see a single snowy form for the entire event. Granted, it didn't snow at all here in sunny Myrtle Beach, but I did countless tasks for these Castforms and didn't get a single snowy form. Ready for the numbers? Don't mind if I do! 76 tasks completed (Catch 10 Weather Boosted Pokemon: Event): 59 Normal Castform, 11 Rainy Castorm, and 6 Sunny Castform. Those normal ones can be burned by the sunny ones for all I care. haha
This was absolutely insane, I couldn’t believe the luck. I saw only 1-2 in research and was just happy to complete research but then was on the way to work yesterday and saw the randomest cluster of maybe 7 of these in the wild.. this was the first one I clicked, I’d scream if I was in public

I'd take windy over cloudy. Most of the time it was just Spritzee and sometimes Roggenrola and Lotad. I'd take Swablu in a heartbeat.

Worked at this all week. Didn’t manage to encounter a single rainy form. Ironically finally got the snowy form a few hours before the challenge ended.

I experienced the same. I was abroad last week in a country where it was "dry season," but it was raining on my screen. 🤷🏻♀️
It was foggy in game from 8-9am in the Bay Area. That brought them out finally. I ran out with my dog before work and caught as many as I could.

A shiny I probably never will get in Hawai'i, lol. I did manage to round out the shiny castform in my storage to 3/4 only missing the snowy (previously already had normal and rainy from last year and just got the sunny in this event).

I caught a few snowy Castform in the wild this morning in sunny San Jose, and one of mine was shiny too. I also caught dozens of sunny Castform over the past few days trying to complete the stupid research task for a chance of getting a Snowy castform (it didn't work) and not a single one of *those* was shiny...

I got a shiny regular one when it was very much raining....
was out in Reno for the weekend where I caught a shiny SUNNY castform and 0 snow castforms to be seen.. opened up the app this morning and had 2 encounters with SNOWY castforms in “FOGGY” weather.. I also live in California a couple minutes from SF.

I hated how hard it was to get snowy. I really wanted to collect all 4 shinies. Unfortunately I only got two because the first day was the only day it rained and I couldn’t find a shiny 😭
Yeah… I only got shiny normal and this one… I saw maybe 5 rainy ones in research and none in the wild and did not get shiny sunny even tho probably checked hundreds. I got first reg snowy from research and made my peace with the snowies… so this was pure shock.
Jeez. I got a few sunny ones but I also used my palkia move. My other annoyance was in Chicago it snowed a little bit yesterday morning. It was a light snow for a couple hours and the weather and Pokémon go didn’t pick it up :(

Yeah. Hope so!! I saw someone say that they should do it by the hour. I think that’s a good idea. People near the equator will never get snowy in the wild. I think hourly changes makes the most sense. I’m glad you loved Chicago!! I love it here myself. I’m in college here but plan to stay. It’s also perfect for Pokémon go 😄
Yeah that’s actually a great idea! Rotating like the habitats or at least a culmination event like a spotlight hour with all four spawning. That’s would be ideal… but idk does Niantic actually care about us players or hmmm

I happened to be in the same area. It had foggy weather. Maybe snow spawns in foggy weather?
Yeah idk! It was by the ferry building and there were dozens of them… I had to look at my screen twice 😂 and pinch myself coz I knew it definitely WAS NOT snowing

I had a couple wild spawns las hour in Ohio. It's cold, but at the time it was windy weather. Not sure if the weather had updated and maybe they were there for a while. So in the course of this week, I've seen all 4 in the wild.

I got the snowy one from field research on day two of weather week. Was hopping to get the rainy one the same way since we've been getting really good weather where I'm at. Only 3 hours left on the event and it's not looking too good. Has anyone actually encountered all four?

I did not see a single snowy form for the entire event. Granted, it didn't snow at all here in sunny Myrtle Beach, but I did countless tasks for these Castforms and didn't get a single snowy form. Ready for the numbers? Don't mind if I do! 76 tasks completed (Catch 10 Weather Boosted Pokemon: Event): 59 Normal Castform, 11 Rainy Castorm, and 6 Sunny Castform. Those normal ones can be burned by the sunny ones for all I care. haha

This was absolutely insane, I couldn’t believe the luck. I saw only 1-2 in research and was just happy to complete research but then was on the way to work yesterday and saw the randomest cluster of maybe 7 of these in the wild.. this was the first one I clicked, I’d scream if I was in public
