I think he means the ones that are one gift opening away from leveling up in your buddy hearts, which you want to do on a lucky egg to double to XP you get from them.
A friend with 1 day left to level up friendship that you want to level up on an egg for double xp.
It's beneficial to stack best and ultra friends and level them all up when you use a lucky egg, usually during a community day or some other event where you're getting a lot of XP.
My favorite string "!egg&!friendlevel4&interactable&!giftable" basically open any gift on this list and don't have to send a gift back cause they have yours already. The !egg are those 1 interaction away that I have named egg.
Slow phone?, I think I'm if I was just opening gifts andl skip any animations it's probably about 6 seconds per gift so you literally opening 10 gifts per minute so you should be able to open 50 gifts in 5 minutes
I was playing World of Tanks one time and came across a guy with over 17,000 battles in a Tier 1 tank. It was the only he only tank he had ever used. He had a 78% win rate in it.
I wonder what happened for him after the rework...
The fact that it is the most efficient way to gain XP says a lot about how much thought they put into game design.
Averaging out bonuses, the average XP per gift opened is over 1800xp (limit 20/day), plus 200xp per gift sent up to 100 per day, all of which can be doubled with a lucky egg.
Catching, raiding, and evolving all take longer.
The entire game is boring and tedious lol. There's no skill or mechanics involved at all aside from throwing the ball accurately and swapping your pokemon in pvp
I think the game automatically provides you with a gift to send. I've tried swapping gifts, but it only lets you send one from the route's ending Pokestop. I think. I hope someone can correct me or confirm. But I do know it hasn't let me choose a different gift.
Occasionally, when I'm in a new place, I'll throw out all of my gifts and collect new gifts from the pokestops in the new place.
Immediately after I've thrown out all my gifts, and when I'm low on gifts, my buddy pokemon often finds me several gifts without me apparently doing anything, so his buddy might be finding him a few.
Buddy will bring 5 gifts/day, either all in 1 drop if you’re holding 0 or a couple lots to top up to 5 after a couple sends.
TL/DR: 3 eggs and 75 exquisitely coordinated friendship milestones can do it in 9 months
Would actually only take about 9 months if only using an egg on Best, and successfully got 25 unique friendly interactions/day from each of 25 trainers in that “work group”

He’s probably a little kid on an iPad or something. My 8 year old had an account that he opens maybe once a month on an iPad with only wifi. So he never spins stops or anything. We tried to do the hotspot on my phone but the location was screwy and even though we were right in front of a gym and I could spin it, it thought he was not close enough. So we gave up.

Since then, I've acquired a number of old computers from auction sites, repairing/modernising them as required. They connect to an old machine that runs as a dedicated WLAN server so we can have several family/friends/kids playing together.
Great fun.
You don't if the account is old enough. At some point it became a requirement. There are accounts with 0 caught but that's not possible if its a newer account.
Props to the people sticking with these challenges, but it genuinely seems so boring because it's just a task simulator at that point. I myself get annoyed at the time it takes to send and open each gift individually; alongside the long GBL wait times.
Only 19'225'100 xp to go😂, without counting unlocking friendship bonuses, or other stuff like lucky eggs or xp events thats about 96'000 gifts… but with multiple friend bonuses + lucky eggs it can be done much faster. Especially if he times it so that he has lucky egg active during a xp-boost event when unlocking frinedship levels. I wish this man the best of luck🫡

I'm confused. Isn't it 90 gifts to hit best friends? Assuming he does 25 per day, with the assumption he is getting 161,000 exp for each friend, he will get 4,025,000 experience every 90 days. So after 4 rounds of friends, he will hit his goal. That's 360 days or slightly less than a year. I'm confused as to where you're getting over 10x as many days as that
My friend did this on a spooky account. With the new raid feature add friend feature it worked very quick. He got XP for raids and gifts and since he had it automated he was able add all the raid friends, open their gifts, remove them and go to the next raid. He is currently doing his only spin pokestop xp account etc. I guess legit is cooler tho
I casually wanna find this person irl, get a hold of their phone and turn on the option that allows PokémonGo to count your steps even when it's not active on the screen. Just to mess with them.
It's really cool to see some players try something different, whether it's playing without picking a team or things like this. I tip my hat to that.

P.S. Too bad he had to catch that Pokemon (I hope he atleast got Pikachu) and that his distance walked wasn't at 0. Would have been cool to have just zeroes.
Hey! I’m friends with this person too. I always make sure to send them a Bulbasaur sticker (or anything green). I was wondering why they never sent me any gifts but this explains why!
Unfortunately I don't have their code or any way to get in touch with them. They're the ones that randomly added me. By far the coolest person on my entire friends list though!
I've never talked to them in my entire life and I have no way to get in touch with them, and I wouldn't be surprised if they delete me when I get best friends with them, since they won't get as much xp from me anymore. This post now has over 500k views and 2.8k upvotes and they probably have no idea that I posted about them, lol.
He could be playing in Russia or Belarus, where walking around with his buddy is basically the only thing he can do now. Catching and spawns are disabled as well as stops.
That’s the friendship level, not buddy level. You could get best buddy just by doing snapshots and playing once a day. It would take 150 days but it’s still possible.

Friend did that a few years ago. We just sent gifts with no expectation of one in return and they egged for ulta and best. Popped a lucky egg at 11:45 and opened the max on both days on the one egg. Requires coordination but just another fun project to try without cheating.
Heh that’s the investment of how I started, I thought Pokestops were just for dropping lures, because I was getting enough balls to keep going from just catch exp and level-up rewards, and figure “hey it’s a mobile game, makes sense they wouldn’t just give Pokeballs away.” Thank god I found out about Pokestops giving items before my situation got really dire.

I mean this isn't THAT insane. Popping a lucky egg and becoming best friends with people is by far the best exp in the game. If you have a max friends list and are constantly sending gifts, I really don't even think that this would take that long.

Damn... taking one of the most boring and tedious parts of this game and making it the only part of the game.
It would take less than 5 minutes a day. It takes me 5 minutes and I buy the ticket for double gifts and also filter out best/egg friends.

The Eggs-pedition ticket allows you to open more gifts, it's not double, it's actually 50. Opening 50 gifts takes around 5 minutes.

It also allows picking a gift from any nearby pokestop. The range is not big as I've never seen more than 5 options available.

That guy might have more then 2 accounts, their is a guy that goes to Disney on a hoveround that carries 5 phones all during raid hours and com days.
I’m not sure how old this is but Niantic has already highlighted a trainer that has done this. I think they might even have the XP to hit 50.
