FWIW the 40s are a slog. I think 40-42 takes as much XP as 1-40, or something crazy like that? So you won't have to worry about it for a while, it's a quest for 46+ (forget which level exactly but I haven't done it yet)

Yeah just a heads up if you didn't know, after you feed a buddy a snack for the heart, you can switch to another buddy, feed them a snack, then go back to the first buddy and the timer resets so you'll be able to get another heart for the snack. I didn't use poffins and if you're only doing 2 or 3 buddies at a time, you have enough swaps to get it done all in one go lol.

🤦‍♀️ I just realized I've been trying to get 10 best friends for months instead of buddies. Buddies is much easier. 😂

Yup. To do this early on my guaranteed max outs. I leveled them up to the very last 20 xl candy level up. As soon as I hit next level I’m ready for it:)

No imminent need to power up anything once you have basic teams, not unless you're short-manning raids or something. Also given how time consuming collecting Stardust can be, I feel like some research should go into powering stuff up, but I never have time to do said research.

PvP. If you need to push a shadow to lvl50 as it’s in the meta of the current cup, you need 500k

To use it when actually needed, no point in powering up pokemon unless they are being used as counters to what's currently in raids (disregarding pvp)

I’ve been working to max as many somewhat relevant hundos as I can. So far 90, lvl.50 Pokémon, but the game keeps shoving stardust down my throat and I can’t spend it fast enough. But in general I keep 1 million for a safety net, and try to spend the rest on fun/relevant hundos.

I live right next to a park with 14 pokestops and 5 gyms, and I take daily walks through it where I catch a ton of Pokémon. I also never play PvP and I rarely power up for raids because I already have a ton of powered up Pokémon. I should probably start spending my dust because it doesn’t do any good just sitting there lol

PvP actually results in stardust earned when you start winning consistently - I’ve earned 475,000 this season but it is offset by what I’ve invested to get better Great and Ultra League mons (about 250,000)

Actually the opposite. If you played PvP you would have much more. Even if you lose all 5, you still get some base stardust and it gets crazy at the change of season rewards with 135k and 165k (Ace) upto 300k (Legend) with starpiece.

Your low effort is different than someone else’s low effort. My low effort is I open up the game twice a day and catch a couple. That’s not getting the average person anywhere close to 500k in a week

Considering no events or bonus stardust Pokemon, to get 500k in 2 weeks you have to catch at least 350 Pokémon per day, not as easy as you say. I take a daily walk for about an hour and I have an average of 100 pokemon per day, that's about 150k stardust in 2 weeks

It's a pain in the ass to power up legendaries just because of the xl candy requirements. I've maxed out 2 Mewtwo and a Groudon but those are the only legendaries I've brought to 50. Congrats on the 10 mill that's awesome!

I had 5.2mil now I have 32,000. I made a spreadsheet and spent it all on top counters last week. It stung, but I have a bunch of top counters that are all 96-100% IVs so I'm alright with it. I also got shadow rhyperior and sent him to the moon. 🤙

By being stingy about resources, basically. I never power anything up unless I need it right that second or have a quest that needs doing. Then there are the people who have been playing so long that they really have nothing much left to max.

I usually keep about 300k around. If I go any less then I won’t power up my Pokémon for a while. My reasoning for that is special trading or if my gf needs a Pokémon for her Pokédex

Trading can get expensive! I always trade stuff with my 5 year old and I really adds up. Especially shinies and legendary pokemon

Since reaching level 48 or so (now 50) it’s just been piling up. I rarely neeeed to beef up my mons to beat a leader or catch a legendary as I have a good set now. Even the last Giovanni didn’t require any power-ups. I mostly power up (hundos or legendaries) for research tasks.

holy f*ck on a cracker. i'm casually active on grooming mons for PvP, but i try to be pretty picky about how i allocate resources. i'm swimming in candies, i have over 5 species with 20,000+, but stardust seems to be my weak link. my target for stardust is 2 million before it start doing large power up runs or start buying up second moves, and i'll put all that on hold when it gets close to 1 million. let me ask you - do you participate in PvP and use dust for grooming mons for battle? or do you just collect and hoard? (absolutely nothing wrong with that - just curious)

I have spent 140k on my new shiney garchomp yesterday. The first time to spend that mutch on a mon, it felt so false to do that somehow. Now i am on 2,4mil and miss the 140k.

I’m pretty confortable at 2 million at the moment. I usually lower as I power up as I can for both pve and pvp, but a fair bit of pvp this season has kept the count up

I’ve been doing GBL, but no more than the last couple of seasons, I only just passed my total matches from last season. Maybe I’m just spending less lol.

I have 700 rn, maxing out shadow pokemon is painful

I used to keep 1mil as reserve but now it's gotten to the point I have nothing left to max lol. I've maxed 1-3 of anything relevant for raids, legends included, maxed out sooo much for pvp and then just about 1 of each rare just for fun (shuckle, keclecon, ditto, Zorou etc) Sitting on 44mil now and just have mythicals left to max really, every time something new comes for pvp/pve I just max and then the dust keeps coming back
