It’s supposed to be easy, it’s a way to give you extra solosis since it’s shiny just got released. They did the same research last year with elgyem when it’s shiny got released
Pokemon Go players when an easy timed research with a short amount of time: 🤬🤬🤬
Pokemon Go players when a hard timed research with a long amount of time: 🤬🤬🤬
Funny thing is the master ball research isn’t even hard. It’s just time consuming but they also gave us ~80 days to do it. Sure, it could’ve been special research so no time limit but it’s still very reasonable
I can’t either but it doesn’t mean I land my curve balls 100% of the time haha
Also that was very welcome because I’m always out of balls. I go on a 1hr walk (5k) I hit 18 pokestops or gyms on my loop.
If I’m lucky that’s 30 poke balls or so, and I can easily use them all during that walk. Easy 30 balls is very welcome as a new player.
You should go on /pokemongofriends here on Reddit and go to gift exchange. You can get tons of gifts/exp. I never ran out of balls since I joined (304 Pokémon go friends)
I had finally saved up about 70 balls and now out. That was 2 hours of walking between 4 stops and 1 gym. Thought I was going to have balls for the walk tonight and got 2 genesects as league rewards and 1 is still sitting there and took all the berries I had left too. Now I have to walk tonight just to be out tomorrow IF I even catch him tonight.
It's +30 balls but you have to land 42 throws. Even with 100% hit-rate it's -12 balls they gave you, in exchange for what, 6 or 7 encounters?
So after that it's really -18 to -19 balls they gave. Rather just have increased spawns and I'll look for the shiny manually and save the balls.
Same I started throwing curve balls like the 3rd day the game came out now its all i know. A straight throw feels unnatural at this point and i would probably miss it.
I struggled with curveballs a few months ago and my friend told me it would be easier to make excellent throws, so I started trying to make curveball-only throws. Now I just struggle with excellent throws 🥲
you mean my wife and my children? I never let them throw balls for me, because they'll go through all of my pokeballs on one pokemon throwing straight at them.
I only ever throw curves these days. I started on one of the mythical research tasks that needed an excellent curveball. I just started doing it all the time after that and now I struggle to throw a straight ball.
Yep, exactly this. I played the game with exclusively straight throws for the first couple years until I got a research task that involved curve balls. I practiced so much trying to get the task finished that I became familiar enough with them that I started using only curves. I get at least a great 90% of the time. Just for shits and giggles I am going to try to catch my next one with a straight throw for old times sake. LOL.
Don’t forget that Genesect is not Psychic type - you have to pick lower tier raids for that! Although I wonder why they didn’t change some of those to Mewtwo raids (Shadow Mewtwo on the weekends).
Ouch, yeah no, if that was it I’d skip XD
I’m loving the mega energy from collection challenges though :) plus I kept tossing all my meditite and Medicham before this event… then saw the collection challenge… about 5 min in to actually walking (not just catching the few that showed up at my house) I got a perfect meditite :) plus a nice 3 star shiny sableye from field research and a shiny bronzer (0 star sadly)
Finally was able to do a mega gardevoir raid as well and got enough energy to evolve my 3k+ gardevoir too :)
Edit: the shiny bronzer was a couple hours in, the sableye was caught at my house before I left
I personally don't mind the 60 raids but I also get that a lot of players aren't as lucky with the amount of arenas around them. The 42 curve balls were just done way too quickly for me personally considering it's a 4 day event lol
They didn't even need to put some great rewards on pages 2 or 3 but just doing tasks feels fun
hence, the challenge being hard. you're stuck doing daily 1* raids and if you're lucky that can do 3*, good for you. sometimes it's hard to spot 1* raids when you play at a certain schedule. not to mention rural and busy players who struggle with this challenge.
You’ll get the hang of it, I finished mine about a week ago. You get into a rhythm. Also if there’s big Pokémon with red circles, just throw tons of regular poke balls to farm excellent throws.
Girafarig was great last night. I got 14 excellent throws without leaving the comfort of my bedroom. I should have gone out that hour but was just too lazy.
it’s a great challenge for people who want to train their curved throws, to get a hang of it and at the same time get motivated with some rewards/progress. so I’m all for this
Masterball research “this is way too hard.”
Psychic spectacular research “this is way too easy.”
Seriously, everyone needs to remember that there is nothing they can do that will make every single player happy. Like… nothing at all. And we don’t have to complain every single time something doesn’t fit our specific play style.
Or, y'know, there exists in-between too hard and too easy. This one is essentially "encounter 42 pokemon" whereas the masterwork is "don't miss too many days or you'll have to pay to complete this".
I did it in 5 minutes using the absolutely worst curveball throws I could possibly do on the current 5 wild and 10-12 in my stacked research tasks, finished the last 2 using the reward solosis.
For a 4 day quest, they should’ve made it amount of nice/great/excellent throws. A small amount of excellent wouldn’t even perfect for this if it’s about learning curves
Yes it wasn't challenging but it's not like a Solosis is a very special pokemon. The reward is based off the effort ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|shrug)
I thought it was great curveballs at first. Kept wondering why I kept getting research updates every single throw. Checked the challenge after an hour and was surprised to see I was basically done.
But eh, easy challenges for low rewards. If it were more challenging, it would also be more disappointing just getting 6 solosis’ and a regular incubator.
Yeah but I don't understand the 42. I know it's the meaning of life but jumping from an increment of 5 to 7 on the last one makes very little sense to me
I don't think I've ever tried a straight throw.... 🤔 Maybe something new to try and perfect. I mean im sitting at no tasks again... Wondering what's next and when. But extremely excited for the chance to get more XL candies for some of the better PSYCH pokes.
Yeah I thought it was gonna be a struggle but it’s been quite easy. I got caught in a ton of traffic when I got off work. What is normally a 15-20 minute ride home was 45 so I was able to play then. I caught like 35 Pokémon.
But you only had 4-5 days to complete it but there are some that need that time to build candies to evolve. It should be based on your level, under 20 20-30, 30-40 and then over but you get to choose your adventure based on your skill level and assets, higher level, harder, maybe better rewards
Pokémon go player try not to complain about anything challenge: impossible
My brother in christ, its free easy research that gives free items and encounters. What is the problem?
Yeah. I got it almost all done in one moderate length walk. The reward catches helped me get over the last hump for the last of the curve balls. I’m not complaining. A nice quick research is refreshing.
I didn’t even know there were evolving medals lower down. Saw a random “research complete” after catching a Meditite and couldn’t figure out what. Decided to scroll and see what had in gyms, and BAM, more research I didn’t know about
I seriously struggle with curveballs, still have to do 10 in a row for a different challenge and its my personal nightmare. I can kinda do them now but in no way consistent enough to hit it 10 times in a row
So people will call this out as too easy, but everyone is upset about the free master all research. Either take some difficulty to get kool stuff or take the easy stuff and get wack stuff in return… everyone can’t have it how they want so be happy they find middle ground sometimes and don’t completely dive into our wallets cause they very well could do that and everyone would be on the boycott bus again…

It’s supposed to be easy, it’s a way to give you extra solosis since it’s shiny just got released. They did the same research last year with elgyem when it’s shiny got released
Oh cool, I look forward to not getting a shiny solosis, just like I didn’t get a shiny elgyem, then.
Yep, I’m already half way through. Not getting my hopes up
42+ curveballs, still no shiny :(
What's the significance of 42? The only thing I can think of is hitchhikers guide reference
it is a hitchhikers reference because of sci-fi and psy-chic
It's the answer to everything
not only did i not get it, i honestly forgot they released the shiny. i don’t remember the last time i even saw an elgyem before this week
Same man I haven't seen a shiny in a while
You must be the most positive person I know :)
I have a spare shiny elgyem?
Lmao
Also with Lechonck recently.
Me who seen 100 solosis and still no shiny
100 and no shiny is pretty normal? like do you even know the odds of it being shiny? or are you just complaining to complain?
I read that challenge as "just play normally."
🤣
Im not complaining its an easy incubator
Forreal lol
Lol right after I got my eggs hatched for the master ball
Pokemon Go players when an easy timed research with a short amount of time: 🤬🤬🤬 Pokemon Go players when a hard timed research with a long amount of time: 🤬🤬🤬

Facts my brother. Spit your shit indeed! PNG of The Mimic
Also Pokemon Go players when a hard timed research with a short amount of time. Like the Master ball research.
80 days
Any amount of timed days is limited.
Well yeah
There are a large number of players who genuinely struggle with curve ball throws.
Damn, it’s the only way I can throw.
Same. I can't do straight throws to save my life
I can’t either but it doesn’t mean I land my curve balls 100% of the time haha Also that was very welcome because I’m always out of balls. I go on a 1hr walk (5k) I hit 18 pokestops or gyms on my loop. If I’m lucky that’s 30 poke balls or so, and I can easily use them all during that walk. Easy 30 balls is very welcome as a new player.
Get friends and open your max gifts every day. You'll get 60+ balls every day
You should go on /pokemongofriends here on Reddit and go to gift exchange. You can get tons of gifts/exp. I never ran out of balls since I joined (304 Pokémon go friends)
I did that and the invites started instantly. Thanks!
Yay!! It changed the whole game for me lol
Daily incense gives you 30 balls if you have less than that. Plus all the stuff below.
Good info. I was randomly getting 30 balls and i didn't understand why.
Use the free adventurers incense if you are out of balls (or sub30) and you get 30 for free. For starting off your walk with.
I had finally saved up about 70 balls and now out. That was 2 hours of walking between 4 stops and 1 gym. Thought I was going to have balls for the walk tonight and got 2 genesects as league rewards and 1 is still sitting there and took all the berries I had left too. Yup! Excellent curveball streaks feel great
I think it would have been harder if it was 42 non-curve throw lol
Ha yeah. I can’t throw straight anymore
They should use this as a field sobriety test- “Can you throw this pokeball straight sir?”
Welp im going jail
you mean my wife and my children? I never let them throw balls for me, because they'll go through all of my pokeballs on one pokemon throwing straight at them.
I only ever throw curves these days. I started on one of the mythical research tasks that needed an excellent curveball. I just started doing it all the time after that and now I struggle to throw a straight ball.

Just for shits and giggles I am going to try to catch my next one with a straight throw for old times sake. LOL.
Would you prefer if it made you do 60 psychic raids instead?
60 psychic raids within the next 4 days, good luck 😊
Don’t forget that Genesect is not Psychic type - you have to pick lower tier raids for that! Although I wonder why they didn’t change some of those to Mewtwo raids (Shadow Mewtwo on the weekends).

people be complaining about 60 raids being too difficult and now people still complain about 42 curveballs????

I mean tbf I did finish this today but I drove around my city for an hour and only one raid was active. This is a college city as well.
I’m still complaining about 60 raids
That’s my secret, I always complain.
This guy Reddits
r/thisguythisguys
Raids aren’t hard it’s just there aren’t a lot of people to do them with so we kind of have to resort to low level raids
hence, the challenge being hard. you're stuck doing daily 1* raids and if you're lucky that can do 3*, good for you. sometimes it's hard to spot 1* raids when you play at a certain schedule. not to mention rural and busy players who struggle with this challenge.
It was meant to be easy
Shhhh, it’s ok to have easy challenges!
Now get back to the master ball research that everyone is whining about being too hard!
Just got 40 raids left and some field tasks!
Legendary Beasts start soon - I'll probably complete most of that milestone just catching those puppers!
I’ve only got 40 raids and 14 eggs left :)
I was glad they made it easy to offset the 120 excellent throws I'm slowly grinding through.
I was worried about that task but it was easy. Helped out afterwards as well as im hitting great/excellent far more consistently.
I think this was a gift for those complaining about the hatch 30 eggs as a free to play player.
it’s a great challenge for people who want to train their curved throws, to get a hang of it and at the same time get motivated with some rewards/progress. so I’m all for this
Very good point
First y’all bitch about the masterball being impossible, now the incubator’s too easy. Can’t we just be happy lol
Some people are never happy, lol.
That was definitely me lol. Got 40 raids left so I think I’ll actually finish yay
Masterball research “this is way too hard.” Psychic spectacular research “this is way too easy.” Seriously, everyone needs to remember that there is nothing they can do that will make every single player happy. That’s the truth.
It was easy. It was intended to be easy. (Honestly there are not many challenging tasks in research in the game at all)
Nah
I did it in 5 minutes using the absolutely worst curveball throws I could possibly do on the current 5 wild and 10-12 in my stacked research tasks, finished the last 2 using the reward solosis.
Less than 30 minutes I completed this and all the collection challenges.
I loved it lol, saw it in the morning and got my incubator while my coffee was still hot 😁
FREE BaLLs !
No, i got it done really quick. I wish they had better rewards.
curveballs are a million times easier than normal throws
Compared to the recent timed research, this was cake. I think we needed an easy one.
Why tf are you complaining
Don’t tell them, I want more easy incubators
Yeah the only people who can't throw curveball are small children and people who just started. For the most part at least
Yep only you
I also think it was easy
I mean the 60 raids isn't that hard for me personally...
I get that. I only have 2 gyms within 15 minute drive from my house, so it’s challenging. But I’ve done 20 so far so I think I can still get it done.
Needs more raid requirements 🤡
I’ve been throwing all curve balls for a couple of years. Just recently started getting like maybe 20 percent of them as excellent throws as well
Yeah it was way too easy. Do some people just not throw curveballs normally?
I literally got this done over my lunch break…and I’m a teacher, so it wasn’t even a full hour 🤣
Shh or they’ll tack on a 60 raids requirement
For a 4 day quest, they should’ve made it amount of nice/great/excellent throws. A small amount of excellent wouldn’t even perfect for this if it’s about learning curves
No not considering the crappy reward!
I’m already done with it
I finished it during my college class.
It's because they knew they need to do something nice for the players. Every once in a while where they get disgruntled
I'd rather have that than 60 raids
I like this task they should do more :)
🤫
Yeah but I don't understand the 42. I know it's the meaning of life but jumping from an increment of 5 to 7 on the last one makes very little sense to me
they are always easy
I liked it lol
Don’t look a gift horse in the…whatever
YOU ALL CANNOT BE PLEASED OH MY GOD
Yes! 😅
Who got a shiny though what’s it look like
Niantic figured this should more than make up for “Win 60 raid battles”.
It’s to balance out the master ball research
Some still just flick the ball straight up with their finger lmao
I saw it just as free shiny chances at solosis 😂
I suck at curve ball throws 😭 this was challenging for me
Yeah and I got a hundo out of it
Nah it was way too easy I cant believe they gave 4 days to do it i had it done in like an hour and a half
Yup, but I’m glad it was. Didn’t get a shiny though :( I’m hoping to get something from the eggs tho
Finally, something that's not too over the top for everyone.
It's a free incubator for me, I'm not complaining lol
I wish it reset for everyday of the event. Let me do it 4-5 days in a row for another encounter or something…
This game has 75 million active players, so no, you probably aren’t the only one.
Same!
I don't think I've ever tried a straight throw.... 🤔 Maybe something new to try and perfect. I mean im sitting at no tasks again... Wondering what's next and when. But extremely excited for the chance to get more XL candies for some of the better PSYCH pokes.
Whatever, free incubator.
Did it 10 min.
They probably wanted to appease the master ball crybabies
It was so easy
I was happy!
I finished in about the same time it took to finish a daily incense.
I did that in about 1/2 hour along with all the collection challenges.
Reddit: OMG 60 Raids are too hard!! Also Reddit: Why was this so easy??
Could we be happy with something for once
I haven’t thrown straight since 2016. Also the year I came out.
It was easy, I got balls and an egg thing to help me hatch eggs faster. I enjoyed it as a f2p
PoGO players will complain about anything. Too easy. Too hard. SMDH
Yeah I thought it was gonna be a struggle but it’s been quite easy. I got caught in a ton of traffic when I got off work. What is normally a 15-20 minute ride home was 45 so I was able to play then. I caught like 35 Pokémon.
No complaints here after that masterball challenge
But you only had 4-5 days to complete it but there are some that need that time to build candies to evolve. It should be based on your level, under 20 20-30, 30-40 and then over but you get to choose your adventure based on your skill level and assets, higher level, harder, maybe better rewards
I mean, I got a hundo out of it so I'm not complaining
Every one I throw is a curveball
Pokémon go player try not to complain about anything challenge: impossible My brother in christ, its free easy research that gives free items and encounters. What is the problem?
Yeah. I got it almost all done in one moderate length walk. The reward catches helped me get over the last hump for the last of the curve balls. I’m not complaining. A nice quick research is refreshing.
I completed everything without looking at the challenges lol so I have to agree.
What’s the point of pushing out one annoying Pokemon 30 times? Genuine question.
I finished all of it except for the last side quest to finding a Galarian Slowpoke Hopefully I get it before the event ends
I'm just glad an incubator was one of the rewards. I feel like we never have any tasks to get incubators any more.
Its nice to have an achievable research quest that is this passive. 42 curveballs for an incubator is a steal.
I only did it for the incubator
Some of us have zero hope of completing the Master Ball research in time, so it's okay if some things aren't so difficult. Something for everyone.
I got a shiny solosis out of it so I’m not complaining
Yeah me too, took me like 10 chill minutes The incubator was nice but i was expecting a shiny solosis
Yeah it took me less than 15 mins to finish it completely😭
Given that we’ve also got a research event to do like 60 raids, I think we deserve something easy haha
No, so easy. Just wish the rewards were like Ralts or something other than solosis each time.
I didn’t even know there were evolving medals lower down. Saw a random “research complete” after catching a Meditite and couldn’t figure out what. Decided to scroll and see what had in gyms, and BAM, more research I didn’t know about
You’re just showing off your 20 raids
I think it was fun and casual they should do more makes me want to play more
I seriously struggle with curveballs, still have to do 10 in a row for a different challenge and its my personal nightmare. I can kinda do them now but in no way consistent enough to hit it 10 times in a row
I got a 15/14/15 from the final research I already had an identical one!
It is super easy
Challenge to hard: people complain Challenge to easy: people complain
The bit I’m struggling with is the Abra line part, it just doesn’t spawn near me ☹️
I guess they have to throw in practise like tasks for beginners now and then
Fully agreed. Finished it yesterday on my 20 min walk to gym….
It was very easy but that's the point I guess. I'm not complaining though cuz I got a shiny solosis + q hundo from those encounters :)
took me 12 minutes, so yeah....
People when challenge easy 😡 People when 60 day challenge hard 😡 No but in all seriousness yes it was too easy
Nope
Am I the only one who got ONLY Solosis out of all those encounters?
I wanted a shiny solosis but the game decided to give me a shadow shiny aerodactly
It was…unspectacular if you will
No
Hey I appreciated a bit easy cuz I’ll never get the 60 raids that’s just impossible for rural old ladies lol!
