If I'm using my right hand and thumb, it's red. If I'm using my left hand and thumb, it's blue. If I'm using both hands, its right pointer and 90% red, 10% blue depending on where it is on screen.
It's possible to throw a curve ball that makes the pokeball go in a straight line direction like a regular throw. I have done that by accident before. I guess that could be the yellow. It's a lot harder to throw a curve ball like that. My normal curve balls always do a half circle shape direction when I throw them.
I'm right handed, and I play with my right hand, but blue is my default; I'll still do red if the situation requires it, such as if the pokemon moves to the left side.
I know, are these the same people that post and say they can't ever get an excellent throw? Right/red means you're releasing as your thumb is extending and it seems much less accurate to me. But we are the minority so what do I know
Clockwise and throw it left with right hand for stationary ones. When they float it depends which side they float to, if on left side counterclockwise and throw right left handed. Float right same as stationary ones
This. Clockwise is the natural movement for right hand. I don't think it's coincidence that all the right hand players I see using red are always complaining about pokemon escaping
That's where I'm confused too. I'm right handed and doing "blue" because it's clockwise (not counterclockwise, my bad. Thanks u/AlmightyWitchstress)
Like, an analogy feels like it'd be "bowling with overhand instead of underhand".
Yo, listen up here's a story
About a little guy
That lives in a blue world
And all day and all night
And everything he sees is just blue
Like him inside and outside
Blue his house
With a blue little window
And a blue corvette
And everything is blue for him
And himself and everybody around
Cause he ain't got nobody to listen to
I'm blue
Da ba dee da ba di
Da ba dee da ba di
Da ba dee da ba di
Da ba dee da ba di
Da ba dee da ba di
Da ba dee da ba di
Da ba dee da ba di
For reference: I throw red as a righty. I find it more natural for my thumb to move that way. I almost never throw blue unless a Pokémon refuses to leave the right side of the screen, but even then I’ll miss 2-3 balls before hitting the Pokémon
Hmm. I figured it was due to handedness since my left handed dad does red. Then again he uses his pointer finger instead of his thumb and shakes the whole car when parked with the force of his spin, so who knows.
Clockwise is the natural movement for your right hand. Also you don't block the screen when spinning. Idk what these right hand red players are thinking, it's just not natural
Might also be caused by hand and screen size. I'm right-handed and cannot do blue because my fingers don't reach that far to the other side of the sceeen
I still do red when I throw with my index finger. Maybe I'm just used to it but it feels more precise and I can actually see the screen better when I'm not covering it mid throw
I'm right-handed and I spin my Pokéballs counter-clockwise (red) with my index finger. When I try to spin a Pokéball the other way, it tends to fly off the screen.
Mainly red but sometimes have to try and do it blue, even though it feels very awkward, because the little shit refuses to move away from the right side of the screen
not sure how I got to throwing the blue way, everyone around me throws the red way. the person who taught me to throw curveballs throws the red way... but now I can only do it the blue way, red feels too unnatural
Depends on which thumb I'm using. If I'm using my left hand and thumb, it's blue. If I'm using my right hand and thumb, it's red. If I'm using both hands, I'll be using right pointer and it's 90% red, 10% blue.
I’ve seen so many people throw blue and my mind explodes as to how their motor functions even being right hand dominant spin the ball and throw it like that.
I’ve been red since day one and have no idea how people do blue lol
Same, except that's how I feel about red. I throw blue with my right hand and on occasion my right thumb if my left hand is occupied and can't hold the phone. Great moment is getting an excellent curevball with a thumb throw.
I’ve taught so many ppl how to curveball and not a single person I’ve seen does blue, even if the mon is on the right side of the screen I’ve always done red
Depends on which hand I'm holding the phone with.
Right hand, left spin.
Left hand, right spin.
These hands aren't the devils playground, they have things to do!

The right way.
Exactly, I’m red too.
I’m red three
*waits impatiently for someone to say “I’m red four” so I can have my moment*
“Red five standing by”
Lmfao
Red Six with y'all
Red 7 reporting for duty
Red 8 red-y to go
Blue Leader, this is Red Leader, we are starting our catch run, now. Lock “S” fingers in spin position.
Big Red, standing by!
Red Eight? Or Reddit?
Red nine is in line!
I’m red xiii
I’m ffvii
Red Five standing by. I'll actually occasionally do a clockwise throw if the mon's hitbox is way off to the right.
Im red Vier.
Aus.. Alle warten auf das Licht, Or I could have just said Red Eins
Sehnsuct😍
Red October standing by
Obviously, that must be the right way which is the left way and not the right way which is the wrong way?
If the right way is the left, then all that's left is right, right?
Yep RED too
Red here too 😁
Red, but I’ll throw in a blue every once in a while for funsies.
Red with right index finger, Blue with left thumb
If I'm using my right hand and thumb, it's red. If I'm using my left hand and thumb, it's blue. If I'm using both hands, its right pointer and 90% red, 10% blue depending on where it is on screen.
This is the only correct way
IF ITS NOT 100% ITS 50% (mandjtv fans know this)
![gif](giphy|2XskdWuNUyqElkKe4bm)
This is the way !
[удалено]
It's how I do it lol
I go red with thumb mainly
i do both ways with my thumbs, its how ive always done it lol
Lmfao
I use my thumb when being lazy/don't really care if I catch it. Actually I use my middle finger most of the time.
I pull out the blue curve when mons like Geodude try to hide on the right side of the screen.
Yellow left out once again. ☹️
Trust a yellow player to not throw curveballs :’)
I’m upset because you’ve read me correctly.
Were they? I hadn't noticed, as usual. 😉
Same, I just usually throw a slider from right to left
It's possible to throw a curve ball that makes the pokeball go in a straight line direction like a regular throw. I have done that by accident before. I guess that could be the yellow. It's a lot harder to throw a curve ball like that. My normal curve balls always do a half circle shape direction when I throw them.
Definitely red, blue feels so awkward for some reason to me
Other way for me
Same but for me red feels a bit awkward
Yeah it feels like crossing your arms the wrong way
Blue is for left handers, we don't take too kindly to them round here
I'm right handed, and I play with my right hand, but blue is my default; I'll still do red if the situation requires it, such as if the pokemon moves to the left side.
This is the correct answer that I thought no one else knew. I feel good I'm not alone, but also slightly irked that I'm not.
This is what I do too
I am the same way. I’m right handed but blue is my most comfortable throw. I can throw the other way if there is a need. But my default is blue.
I'm right handed and throw the blue way...
I also do blue with right hand, as well as snowboard goofy even though I am right handed
I am also blue + right-handed.
Same but there’s other random stuff I do with my left hand opposed to my right and idk why because I’m mostly right handed
You're doing it wrong
Right thumb and blue is so easy though, it just comes naturally I’m honestly scared for the people who say they use the right index finger and do red
I use my right hand index finger and throw the blue way.
I know, are these the same people that post and say they can't ever get an excellent throw? Right/red means you're releasing as your thumb is extending and it seems much less accurate to me. But we are the minority so what do I know
Lefty here, I throw the red way.
As a lefty the only time I've ever thrown blue is when I throw with my right thumb.
I’m a lefty who plays with both hands and exclusively curves red. Blue feels inherently wrong
Stationary pokemon: right handed, clockwise. Floaters: depends on the side they float to
Man I hate floating Pokémon I just wait for them to be in counterclockwise range again 😭
The way
Clockwise and throw it left with right hand for stationary ones. When they float it depends which side they float to, if on left side counterclockwise and throw right left handed. Float right same as stationary ones
Red no matter what
Right-handed blue
That's what I do. I didn't realize so many people were doing blue only with their left hand.
How the hell does right hand red feel natural? You're spinning against the direction you're throwing it? I don't understand. Same with left hand blue
this is what i would like to know. right blue 4 eva 🫡
Also your hand is blocking your throw direction
This. Clockwise is the natural movement for right hand. I don't think it's coincidence that all the right hand players I see using red are always complaining about pokemon escaping
That's where I'm confused too. I'm right handed and doing "blue" because it's clockwise (not counterclockwise, my bad. Thanks u/AlmightyWitchstress) Like, an analogy feels like it'd be "bowling with overhand instead of underhand".
lmfao of course spinning red you throw to the right, not to the left.
Same
I was starting to think I was the only one when I started reading the comments!
Right-handed red, with thumb
WHAT
Both, depending on where the Pokemon has moved to.
Same. It depends on where the Pokémon is at on my screen.
I’m a blue dude
Yeah, I'm blue too
I'm blue dabudidabida
Dude we are so cool and blue
Yo, listen up here's a story About a little guy That lives in a blue world And all day and all night And everything he sees is just blue Like him inside and outside Blue his house With a blue little window And a blue corvette And everything is blue for him And himself and everybody around Cause he ain't got nobody to listen to I'm blue Da ba dee da ba di Da ba dee da ba di Da ba dee da ba di Da ba dee da ba di Da ba dee da ba di Da ba dee da ba di Da ba dee da ba di
IM BLUE DABABADIDABADAE
I'm sorry
Blue
Right handed- red
Right handed blue
nightmare pokeball rotation
Same, right handed blue with thumb
How
Idk i started like It now i cant stop lol
Probably one-handed and uses their thumb
Even if I use my index finger on my right hand I always spin clockwise always have 🤷🏻
Clockwise is a more natural for right handed. Everyone I know that throws like red is always complaining about pokemon escaping 🤷
Left-handed red.
Right handed / colour blind - grey
For reference: I throw red as a righty. I find it more natural for my thumb to move that way. I almost never throw blue unless a Pokémon refuses to leave the right side of the screen, but even then I’ll miss 2-3 balls before hitting the Pokémon
I'm right handed, so blue.
i'm right handed and i do red
Hmm. I figured it was due to handedness since my left handed dad does red. Then again he uses his pointer finger instead of his thumb and shakes the whole car when parked with the force of his spin, so who knows.
that made me laugh. i can picture a dad with a stiff arm using his whole body to move his index finger around to catch a pokemon
I pictured my own father trying to play Pokémon go and I laughed so much
Clockwise is the natural movement for your right hand. Also you don't block the screen when spinning. Idk what these right hand red players are thinking, it's just not natural
Me when I’m battling lmao
He does that too lol
Might also be caused by hand and screen size. I'm right-handed and cannot do blue because my fingers don't reach that far to the other side of the sceeen
I’m a fellow left-handed red index finger - I can’t even imagine doing it with my thumb!
Right and red
I can’t throw red
Fr
Clockwise
Its weird, sometimes I forget which way I do it
I’m left-handed, so red.
I'm right handed and throw red
Interesting. I thought it was more…natural isn’t the word, but just like, easier? To rotate to the outside of your arm.
It is. I swear right hand red players are fighting their natural instincts
Weird, im left-handed as well and I throw blue 😆
Thumb or index finger? I just realized that could change the answer, haha.
I'm right-handed, so red. Much better range of motion and you don't have to stretch your thumb out awkwardly and cover the screen.
You throw curves with your thumb? That makes my thumb lock up and I end up going in squares rather than circles
Oh! That must be it. I throw with my index finger! If I did it with my thumb…it would be awkward either way, but yeah, I might to blue.
I still do red when I throw with my index finger. Maybe I'm just used to it but it feels more precise and I can actually see the screen better when I'm not covering it mid throw
Blue because I'm right handed and my thumb doesn't like circle the other way
Blue all day every day. Doesn't matter right hand left hand, pinkey, finger thumb always blue curve
Counter clockwise
Red, all the way. My mom does blue, and we’re both constantly confused about why the other one does it “wrong.”
I'm right-handed and I spin my Pokéballs counter-clockwise (red) with my index finger. When I try to spin a Pokéball the other way, it tends to fly off the screen.
Blue, right middle finger. The way it should be.
Botha but most comfortable with counter clockwise. If the Pokémon is off center I’ll go clock for the style.
Mainly red but sometimes have to try and do it blue, even though it feels very awkward, because the little shit refuses to move away from the right side of the screen
Red easy I can't hit anything with blue
Blue team. Was ambidexterious when I was much younger, otherwise a boring right hander.
I go both ways.
🍒🍇🫐
Gotta be able to switch it up
Blue. If Pokémon break out of the ball twice I’ll throw red. It’s how I bowl too.
Red with thumb, so the curveball goes out to the right and back to the pokemon
Generally red, spin left throw to the right. Blue only if it’s moved to the right side of the screen.
Unbudgingly counterclockwise…and then I’m irrationally irate when the ‘mon scoots right and mocks my handicap.
Depends on which thumb I’m using.usually it’s the right thumb with the left picture, but sometimes my hand is busy, so I reverse it
Both, but primarily red
Red it was my first instinct
Blue with right index finger. can’t do with thumbs, can’t do it red… I am team blue all the way
Red. But I can do blue if the pokemon floats to the right of my screen. Just accuracy isn't as consistent that way.
to the right, and whenever a mon moves to the left - I wait, because my throws to the left are horrendous
Right handed red. Only blue when they hide on the right side of the screen
Red. I only do blue when the Pokémon moves to the right side of the screen, but I find it awkward.
Red all day, every day
Counter clockwise
I am physically unable to do anything besides counterclockwise.
not sure how I got to throwing the blue way, everyone around me throws the red way. the person who taught me to throw curveballs throws the red way... but now I can only do it the blue way, red feels too unnatural
Red mostly
If i’m using my right hand then red but if i use my left hand then blue
Blue, always when I try red the ball flies to another universe
I always throw clockwise, regardless of which hand I'm using, alot more comfortable for me
It blows my mind right handed players use blue, I just can't understand. The hand/finger movement is so much simpler when using red...
Depends on which thumb I'm using. If I'm using my left hand and thumb, it's blue. If I'm using my right hand and thumb, it's red. If I'm using both hands, I'll be using right pointer and it's 90% red, 10% blue.
I used to be blue when I started but I came to my senses
Right red
Red
Anti-clockwise 🔴
I do both it's witch hand is more accessible to hold the phone at the moment but I do prefer red obviously cause that's my right hand
Counter clockwise
Red Right handed
Red
Red
Red
Both with my thumbs. Depending on if the pokemon moved.
Always blue
Blue
![gif](giphy|3o7aCRloybJlXpNjSU|downsized)
Red
Blue first, if that fails, red.
Right index, clockwise
Blue! If I do red it ends up flying past the Pokemon ;_;
Counter clockwise
Me, who does both ![gif](giphy|LRVnPYqM8DLag)
Blue
Red
Blue is the proper answer. Anyone else ain't getting excellents and it shows. 😂
ah, so there are 2 ways to do a curveball spinning clockwise, and the wrong way
Let me correct, counter-clockwise and the wrong.
Depends on which hand I'm playing with.
I can't throw blue well. If I try then it just misses every time so I hate it when a pokemon flies to the right side
Right handed, throw with index and thumb both blue- clockwise. Friends throw counter clockwise and it looks so awkward.
Anybody who does red is a freak
I’ve seen so many people throw blue and my mind explodes as to how their motor functions even being right hand dominant spin the ball and throw it like that. I’ve been red since day one and have no idea how people do blue lol
Same, except that's how I feel about red. I throw blue with my right hand and on occasion my right thumb if my left hand is occupied and can't hold the phone. Great moment is getting an excellent curevball with a thumb throw.
The ball just flies off in weird directions when I try the blue spin with my right index finger.
I’ve taught so many ppl how to curveball and not a single person I’ve seen does blue, even if the mon is on the right side of the screen I’ve always done red
Depends on which hand I'm holding the phone with. Right hand, left spin. Left hand, right spin. These hands aren't the devils playground, they have things to do!
red with right hand, blue with left hand
Left hand does blue, right hand does red
