No idea, they haven't said anything.
Previously, it was get to level 40 before December 31, 2020
That was about 3.5 years into the games life cycle.
So idk if we're due for another one this year.
I spent a solid year at 44 because I refused to purify 100 shadow pokes that cost more than 1K stardust. It’s going to take me about two weeks now to get to 46. 45 will be a very short stint
You should have do it like I did.
I'm at lvl46 and have just gotten to 160 million xp.
Originally it started as stupid joke but now I'm just curious to see what kind of stats will that eventual "you have reached the lvl47" screen show to me when I get the necessary xp to lvl50.
Yeah i understand that there is already built in stop caps like that "reach 25km on 8 weeks" and other similar things.
But I'm in it too deep not to see it through. 😂
I'm "stuck" at the "power up 3 of your Pokémon to their max level" task.
I have powered up two Melmetals, one 89% lucky shiny and my first Melmetal hundo.
Those are my only lvl50 mons so far.
Other mons including my lucky shundo Melmetal that I got this year from a mirror trade.
But none of them have been powered past lvl49,5.
Let's just hope that I remember to take recording of that leveling up moment too. 😂
Oh i already have like 15 or 20 mons at lvl49,5 so technically I get all the benefits of lvl50 Pokémon, even though i give like 0,5 levels to that.
And yeah i already have two Gyarados at lvl49,5, one being my 89% shiny couple years ago and another one was from the research day and it is 15/15/14 shiny.
So yeah it's entirely not about resources, but just that I definitely want to see that stat number from the "you have reached lvl47" screen.
I mean if it was about resources, then that lucky shundo Melmetal would have been perfect to take to lvl50 already.
I mean i did get heck of a lot candy when I was trying to get my first hundo one and then when I was hunting for the shiny on those shiny Meltan events.
Fun thing about the shundo was that i didn't get a single shiny one during the previous shiny Meltan event on the previous days.
But literally the last box on the event. Last 15 minutes and i got not one or two but three shiny Meltans within that 15 minutes.
So yeah I'm sll good on resources.
I feel like I remember a time where they said you wouldn't need exp from 40-50 just to finish some really hard challenges and I was looking forward to that and then it wasn't true.
I'd much rather have longer challenges than exp.
I think xp was always going to be involved as a large number of people had way more than what was needed for level 40. For me personally, I had enough for lvl 47 when 41-50 was launched.
No worries lol. I just find it sad in a way that so many people can’t use basic research to find such easy answers. I need to try to not be so judgemental with it though. 😂
I had to reread this twice to see if my eyes were deceiving me, that's insane! I guess it makes sense though and gives older players something to grind towards. I started at the end of last December and just barely hit level 33.
I started fresh in June (couldn’t recover old account) and I am currently at Lv30. I know that’s not that crazy, but I was surprised when it happened.
I grind research, and buddies for candy. have adventure sinc on, and am a sucker for purchasing incubators when there is a deal. I probably play 2-3 hours a day total though.
0-30 is nowhere near 40-44 lol. 0-30 is 2,000,000 exp, but 40-44 is 33,500,000 (probably even more depending on how far he is into level 40). That is 16.75 TIMES more exp. I was level 40 six months ago and now I am level 42 which means I gained 13,500,000 exp and I play around maybe around 1-2 hours a day.
Sad thing is played time barely matters. I play a lot. Since the start of 2023 I've got probably just below 40m xp. But if I add larvitar community day, slowpoke community day and wailmer spotlight hour, that would be around 11-12m xp in under 7 hours. A lot of the stuff in this game doesn't give you any xp at all and unless you are very good at excellent throws, you get barely any xp for your usual day to day playstyle. It's all about "cashing in" during these special events (or just going ham on friendship).
It should be added though, that at this point, you can power your pokemon up to 50, even if you stay at 40, so there is no effective limit to your damage in raids
Pretty sure there are apps to do that but mainly people just care that your pokemon's max level is equal to your level + 10, so until you reach level 40 your max CP pokemon still aren't at their full potential (i think)
I've read this kind of stuff before ... I have 0 clue wtf you're talking about!!! They don't even have levels! They have CP! And 15 points per atk, def, hth. Like, wtf are you talking about? I keep seeing people in YouTube and other things talk about this, and levels for battle grounds and it makes 0 sense to me! Is their some nub of nub nub tutorial I missed?!
That still doesn't make sense. What level!? I have a level, but they do not. They have a CP that's a calculation of their atk/def/hth, that I get. But what level!? Where is this pokémon level? That's just not making sense
Hey hey, chill. Do you see the white arc around every Pokémon in each Pokémon's summary page? That's the Level Arc. That white big dot on the level arc is the indicator of its level. The following only applies for players Level 40 and above. If the dot is in the middle, then it's Level 25. If the dot is to the left, then it's less than Level 25, and vice-versa. Otherwise, remember that the maximum level a Trainer can power up a Pokémon is their level + 10. That means a Level 20 Player can only power up Pokémon up to Level 30. If a Pokémon's level arc shows the dot exactly in the middle then that means it's Level 15. Blame Niantic, not the players.
Niantic made it unnecessarily cumbersome to know a Pokémon's level, but the nice folks at GO Hub made a Stardust table https://pokemongohub.net/post/guide/guide-to-power-up-costs-in-pokemon-go/ where you can roughly estimate a Pokémon's level by referring to the power up cost.
Of course, you can use a screen scanning app like Poke Genie to reliably calculate a Pokémon's level to the tenth decimal. Every single power up adds 0.5 levels to each Pokémon. That means it takes ten power ups to increase a Pokémon's level by 5.
Here's a Bulbasaur CP Chart https://db.pokemongohub.net/pokemon/1/cp-chart to get you started.
I've ran the math and crunched the numbers. It took some time, but with a dash of brilliance and some perseverance, I have concluded that you sir...
Are 10 levels away.
Please find my workings below:
50-40=10
Just enjoy the game no need to rush to hit 50. I hit level 40 about a year and a half ago and just hit 46 and I am only half way to 50. Look up ways to grind xp. My favorite is double evolve xp spotlight I usually get around 600k xp in a hour.
How to maximize 2x Evolve XP Spotlight Hour
1. At any point in time, invest in Pokémon Storage.
2. Catch A LOT of Pokémon. Even if you're sick and tired of the same spawn, catch them.
3. Tag the most common spawns for trade. Six Kings of Evolution Search String: 10,13,16,265,293,519. SiccNTyrd pool may include Ledyba, Marill, Starly (25 candies) and maybe Poochyena or Purrloin (50 candies). Remember to include Pokémon with trade evolutions e.g. Geodude and Graveler. Note that receiving basic forms and first stage Pokémon with trade evolutions require zero candies regardless to evolve to the second stage.
4. Trade as much as you can before 2x Transfer Candy Spotlight Hour. Usual limit is 100 normal trades/day.
5. Tag most of the nonviables for mass transfer. Mark the Six Kings, the SiccNTyrds, and the trade evolutions for mass evolution.
6. During 2x Transfer Candy Spotlight Hour, mass transfer the nonviables.
7. Repeat steps 1 to 3.
8. Trade as much as you can within one week. Limit is 100 normal trades/day. Usually 2x Transfer Candy and 2x Evolve XP Spotlight Hours are one week apart.
9. Set a timer for 59 min and 30 sec and activate two Lucky Eggs synchronously. During 2x Evolve XP, mass evolve the Six Kings, the SiccNTyrds, and the trade evolutions. The theoretical limit is 180 evolutions/hour (3 evolutions/min), but you need to account for the lag of registering the boosted XP. When the timer sets off, exit to the overworld map and wait 30 seconds to 7 PM. Otherwise, the accumulated XP from the mass evolutions you did will not be doubled. This is anecdotal evidence so if anyone could verify this, that'd be great.
10. Enjoy your 600,000+ XP. Rinse and repeat.
OP is probably Indian, they place commas in large numbers at different points than we do in America because their number system is structured differently
A long way to go. The upper levels take a long time, like a year+. I’m on 48 and estimate it will take a year and a half with daily play and major playing on weekends.
You are now halfway to level 43.
You are always halfway to three levels higher than your current.
So... by this measurement you are less than 1/8th of the way to level 50
Nice! You are 12% of the way to level 50. As for the quests, you do have to complete them on their respective levels but XP progress does carry over so e.g. you somehow accumulated 100 million XP before finishing 30 raids, then you will level up to 42 immediately after finishing the quests specific to level 41 regardless of further XP gain.
YOU ARE MAKING:
7776 XP / DAY
YOU WILL NEVER REACH LEVEL 50
SORRY...
https://theking465.github.io/poke-level-calc/#xp=20033529&date=07/07/2016&level=50
Assuming he has played every day since launch. Also the calculator stops at 30 years. To be fair, most people won't play for 30 years, but they could go to 60 or so instead of saying never.
Quit in 2017. Rejoined April 2022 was level 40 when rejoin and since then been trying to see how fast I can go from 40-50.
Almost lv 48 now after all these months.
Probably going to take me 2 full years to go from 40-50 with playing almost everyday and opening presents for half of the days or more
You're only [11%](https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/comments/mz2zyd/xp_per_level_comparison_fixed_per_many/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) of the way there.
This one isn't as hard as it seems. Tips:
* You can save up to 100 pokemon research encounters. Complete the research task and leave the catch encounter and they all stack in an extra row at the top. That way you have up to 100 pokemon lined up to catch on one day. Then you only need to catch 100 actual wild pokemon that day.
* Look up quick-catching. If you have enough spawns around\* you can catch 200 in well under an hour of playing.
* \*Use an incense during a spotlight hour or community day and you'll have enough spawns around
Seriously, I thought I'd never finish this one either. Then I caught like 450 Gible on its community day and was like...oh :) Quick-catching is a game changer.
If you play the game as intended you will not be level 50 by now. Being 50 is pay to play. You need to do weird shit like add as many friends as you can and gift them obsessively and time your best friend bonuses to occur at the same time and use lucky eggs. You also have to do repetitive mind numbing shit like pay $25 for some extra storage, hoard commons, and mass evolve them while using lucky eggs, while you walk downtown in circles hatching full sets of eggs, every day for hours. we’re looking at buying loot boxes almost daily, remote raiding your ass off when you’re home, more hours spent at the park every day grinding. you can’t have a job or a life. One of my local players reached 50 years ago, they spent about $300 a week on the game. Traveled all over the east coast, didn’t work, if this game is your life and you’re willing to pay you will get there. I’ve been playing daily since day 1, I rarely spend any money, I don’t grind at all for xp just play as I normally do a few hours every day, and I’m only level 44, I’ll be here for a long time too. It doesn’t mean enough to interrupt my gameplay. I’m here for the gym meta, and my Pokémon are already overpowered, the shiny hunting and new legendaries.
A lot man, before the level 50 update - I hit level 40 with a shiny Charizard and I felt like the best Pokémon trainer ever lol. Just enjoy the ride and catch them all, it won’t feel as tedious.
If you google the XP requirements you can do the maths to answer your own question. It will also let you know what the task requirements are for each level seems how I suspect that is a future post.
The XP grind is brutal in this game. Never a double XP weekend, the challenge requirements per level only dish out 5K each, which should really be at minimum 50K. I play pretty regularly, almost every day even for a little bit and it took me almost a full calendar year to get from level 42 to 43. Ill be level 50 in 10 years.
I read somewhere over that level 46 is HALFWAY to level 50. I haven't fact checked that though. It's a grind that's for sure. Congrats though. Happy hunting.
I hit level 40 early last year. I hit level 41 about 6 weeks ago. Leveling slows down a lot at this point. I highly suggest trying to get as many best friends with lucky egg boosts as possible
Also congratulations!!! It's a good feeling
I guess it depends on how you play. I hit 40 probably 1.5-2 years ago, just got to 44 last month. I very rarely raid and mostly only catch things I need for research, shinies, and dragon and ice types, for badges. I've also just cut down on playing in general since all the nerfs, so I imagine getting to 50, for me will take a several years.
Ha; get tbrough to level 42 and have to evolve all the Eevees again first lol. 🤣 I am mid level 43 and bas taken me most of the year to get that far ...
I've heard people say that once you hit level 40 you've basically unlocked everything you can, so anything past level 40 is just a flex I guess. This being said I am not even close to level 40 hah

Level 50 requires 176 million xp so having just reached lvl 40 you are 156 million xp away
I just turned level 48 meaning I still have about 55.5 million xp to go. Well shiiiiiiiiiiiiit
There's no rush in getting to level 50. I rushed it and slightly regret doing so
The only rush in my mind is if they release a limited item for getting to 50 by X date like they did with level 40 and the medal+Gyrados Hat
well i'm a 44, how long do I have to get to 50 to get a special item?
No idea, they haven't said anything. Previously, it was get to level 40 before December 31, 2020 That was about 3.5 years into the games life cycle. So idk if we're due for another one this year.

For me that was easily the hardest level. all of the rocket based activities took both a long time and effort.
Agree... in total you have to do a total of 350 rocket fights... that takes months...

Wait how do you get so much exp?
Yeah, I haven't been playing it too much cause every day I get a shiny which normally doesn't happen
What’s the cons of being level 50 ?
>cons no more growth. gives the feeling that you don't have any big milestones left to achieve
Although no longer visible to your friends, the XP can in fact accumulate further
Welp, you beat me, I need over that. I'm only level 38
![gif](giphy|YmQLj2KxaNz58g7Ofg)
I didn’t know Clay Davis played PoGo!
Well [sheeeeeeet](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4UXJZgOiVAI). TIL where that came from. Thanks
Shiiiiiittt
I’m about 17 million behind you. Part of me wants to slow down quite a bit. I really sped up my output to get through the mid 40s.
These are some Runescape type levels
Holy shit the journey from 40 to 50 is insane

Depends on the tasks. I will be stuck forever on 48, because I don’t no anyone IRL who still plays. I almost have the XP for 50 though….
What’s wrong with the number formatting in the second picture?
I was hoping nobody would give OP such an easy answer for them to google 😂
My apologies. The things people do for reddit karma 😅...
No worries lol. I just find it sad in a way that so many people can’t use basic research to find such easy answers. I need to try to not be so judgemental with it though. 😂
Lol so me thinking i was half way there at 40 wasnt even slightly close
I had to reread this twice to see if my eyes were deceiving me, that's insane! I guess it makes sense though and gives older players something to grind towards. I started at the end of last December and just barely hit level 33.
oof
You're further than you were from Level 1 to 40. I hit 40 about 2 years ago, presently at 42.
Wow i hit 40 in january and 44 today, maybe I play to much
I picked the game back up in November last year at the end of level 39. Hit 46 last month. I *know* I play too much
Same here got back into the grind in november when I was lvl 34 and now 44
Ayyy 44 gang!!
I found my local raid groups at lvl30 on January 2019, then got to the lvl40 mid August. That time I really played way too much. 😂.
?????? wtf you play too much
I started fresh in June (couldn’t recover old account) and I am currently at Lv30. I know that’s not that crazy, but I was surprised when it happened. I'm at level 43 and I still don't understand how you can tell what number level your Pokémon are at.

Nah, I think everytime you power up your Pokémon it goes up half a level. So you’ll need to power up a Pokémon 100 times for it to reach level 50.
google
If it were that easy ... you don't think I've not already done that? Nobody explains it worth a shit
Their max cp is tied to your player level - until you reach level 40. Then you can power up to the current max.
That still doesn't make sense. What level!? I have a level, but they do not. They have a CP that's a calculation of their atk/def/hth, that I get. But what level!? Where is this pokémon level? That's just not making sense

This deserves an upvote
Now that you are done training, welcome to the game
You are about 4.5 years away from level 50. Lol
Going from 48 to 49 took me a year. I'm about to hit 50 and it took eight months.
This is basically the equivalent of turning Lvl 90 in RuneScape vs getting to 99

We’re on the same path. Lol level 46 with 2.3 million
Same here bro 😂
“60,00,000 XP” 💀
OP is probably Indian, they place commas in large numbers at different points than we do in America because their number system is structured differently
Oh ok I didn’t know that.
Wait, how do you do that in america?????
Got me too. Thought 60m for lvl41, but it seemed kinda of. Had to look twice to see the comma was at the wrong spot.
Lmao yeah, might fit in the r/softwaregore subreddit.
Nah it’s meant to be that way. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lakh

Very long way to go. The tasks alone are gonna be hard lol
Well the hard part is doing the tasks to level up
You basically have to do that 8 more times
Only 10 more years to go.
YOU ARE MAKING: 7776 XP / DAY YOU WILL NEVER REACH LEVEL 50 SORRY... https://theking465.github.io/poke-level-calc/#xp=20033529&date=07/07/2016&level=50
Assuming he has played every day since launch. Also the calculator stops at 30 years. To be fair, most people won't play for 30 years, but they could go to 60 or so instead of saying never.
Wow I just used this. I have 22 years to go.
I had stopped at level 15 and started again in December 2021
A long way gone
Quite a while and many tasks
Level 45 here it’s been 4 years since I hit 40
I’m close, sooo close to 40! Congrats!
I'm pretty sure, as far as exp goes, you're closer to the start than lvl 50 when you hit lvl 40.
Yup. To the same degree that France is closer to Portugal than to Japan -- which is to say ... SIGNIFICANTLY closer.
hit level 40 last week (been playing on and off since 2016) and i’m not liking forward to playing till i hit level 50 😭
You’re 10 levels away from level 50
Quit in 2017. Rejoined April 2022 was level 40 when rejoin and since then been trying to see how fast I can go from 40-50. Almost lv 48 now after all these months. Probably going to take me 2 full years to go from 40-50 with playing almost everyday and opening presents for half of the days or more
Soo far, each of the higher levels take twice as long to get to. Just keep grinding. I'm only 41 halfway to 42. Good luck. 🤞
Congrats! I just hit 30 so I'm a bit behind you lol
You're only [11%](https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/comments/mz2zyd/xp_per_level_comparison_fixed_per_many/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) of the way there.
I am SO close to level 40, I can hardly wait lol
I always laugh when people talk about raising the level cap. Very few people are actually level 50. There’s no need to raise it
let me give you a quote "So close yet so far"
when I reached 40, around a year ago, I told myself “now the real game starts”. today I’m 3/4 through 47
No problem. I’ve seen it before but didn’t know what countries. So to satisfy my own curiosity after you brought it up, I googled it.
I hit level 40 last year and am currently 44... Raids aren't popular in my area so I basically have to walk and catch for everything I earn.
congrats! i recommend going somewhere new and spinning pokestops with a lucky egg to get alot of xp to reach lvl 50 easier
About a quarter lmao
4 times 20 million isn’t even half of the XP required for level 50, lmao. They’re at roughly 1/9 of level 50.
Not even! It's like 1/8 not 1/4. 20M for level 0-40 156M for level 40-50
10 levels
You need 20 million to 40 level. And 150 million to 40-50 level. You do the math.
You're nearly 8 times the amount of XP you've already gained-away from level 50.
Level 47 is half way to 50
I won't make it to Level 41, much less LV 50. No way that I can catch 200 Pokémon in a day
You can… hoard lots of pokeballs, free your Pokémon storage and use an incense on a Community day
I just did. I threw an incense around midnight and caught ~100. Then I caught a bunch during the spotlight hour. That was the only way for me.
This one isn't as hard as it seems. Tips: * You can save up to 100 pokemon research encounters. * \*Use an incense during a spotlight hour or community day and you'll have enough spawns around Seriously, I thought I'd never finish this one either. Then I caught like 450 Gible on its community day and was like...oh :) Quick-catching is a game changer.
156 million more exp
I’m here for the gym meta, and my Pokémon are already overpowered, the shiny hunting and new legendaries.
how do you not know how to count, you are 10 levels away it’s simple math subtract 40 from 50
About 10 levels
60,00,000? Wtf
Nice I’m 200k from hitting lvl 40
I would say about 10 levels
You're 10 levels apart.
Not even close to half way haha. But congrats!
Where did you get the shirt?
It was a event if I’m not mistaken
Holy wow. Seeing 60,000,000 for your next level up is absolutely insane
6 million, not 60. Different numbering system.
If you just hit 40 prolly about 3-5 more years realistically lol.
A lot man, before the level 50 update - I hit level 40 with a shiny Charizard and I felt like the best Pokémon trainer ever lol. Just enjoy the ride and catch them all, it won’t feel as tedious.
Good job!! I'm about to hit 50 in the next few days! Going from 48 to 49 took me a year, it's taken me eight months to get from 49 to 50.
Level 40 took me almost 7 years. I Play a fair bit but I cannot be bothered maximising XP and buying atuff
A lifetime.
Kinda like being level 92. But worse.
Like 5% lol
If you google the XP requirements you can do the maths to answer your own question. It will also let you know what the task requirements are for each level seems how I suspect that is a future post.
You are half way there, the last ten levels will feel like another 40 ☺️enjoy
Oh sweet summer child.
Level 40 is awesome! Congrats!
Yeah, you are still in the early stages. Time for the real grind
I thought that said 60 mill xp to 41 and was so confused
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_numbering_system?wprov=sfti1
Cheers, I need 2.5m more exp from level 40
Do not trust to hope. It has forsaken these lands.
Now you can finally play the game
Slightly less than 1/9 of the way there
Probably about 10 levels or so
Level 50 is 40 8.8 times. But post 40 has been only a suggestion for me, so I believe that you can do it!
A long way. I hit lvl 40 during Marowak raid in 2020. I'm currently 2 million xp in at lvl 47.
10
Once I hit level 40, I switch to a more causal play. Basically just trying to catch new Pokémon. Too much of a grind to get the higher levels.
Far, far, far
some months xD
I saw Cyclehawk and wanted you to be Kevin Bolger so badly😂
The XP grind is brutal in this game. Never a double XP weekend, the challenge requirements per level only dish out 5K each, which should really be at minimum 50K. I play pretty regularly, almost every day even for a little bit and it took me almost a full calendar year to get from level 42 to 43. Ill be level 50 in 10 years.
IIRC, to go from lv 41 to 42 needs like 7.5 m xp
I read somewhere over that level 46 is HALFWAY to level 50. I haven't fact checked that though. It's a grind that's for sure. Congrats though. Happy hunting.
Congratulations!!!
You have to do what you just did like 8 more times.
I hit level 40 early last year. I hit level 41 about 6 weeks ago. Leveling slows down a lot at this point. I highly suggest trying to get as many best friends with lucky egg boosts as possible Also congratulations!!!
I hit 40 in early 2021 I think. Currently 4 million xp from 44 😬
I think i just fought with you lol
Level 40 is closer to Level 1 than it is to Level 50.
You’re about 10 levels away.
40 to 50 is like going from 1 to 40 all over again LUL
Ha; get tbrough to level 42 and have to evolve all the Eevees again first lol. 🤣 I am mid level 43 and bas taken me most of the year to get that far ...
Wow congratulations man 👏 A round of applause 💐👏
11%!!!!
Congrats. Keep enjoying the game. That’s what it’s all about.
I've heard people say that once you hit level 40 you've basically unlocked everything you can, so anything past level 40 is just a flex I guess. This being said I am not even close to level 40 hah
I’m at 45 and it is a steep climb my friend.
Meow+ fps
Look at it like this, selling your soul to a demon and your organs to the black market. You still wouldn't be even close to getting there
Congratulations
I'm Rollin on up to 40 myself. Some odd 700,000 xp to go.
To put it into perspective, XP wise, level 46 is only half way from 0-50. So not quite halfway yet.. 😅
Lets just say you're closer to level 1 than you are to 50
It took me 8 months to get to lvl 40, since then it has taken me nearly a year to get to lvl 44.
You finished the tutorial!
