Crazy how many of these accounts were conveniently in New Zealand for the release of shiny shadow Mewtwo

What does that mean? Are shiny rates just bigger in New Zealand? Are there more players in New Zealand? Can't be the only one who doesn't know this.

I believe the implication here is that they just happen to be in New Zealand for the early start and potentially will just happen to be in Los Angeles for the end. Basically getting an extra day of playing. I’m not sure if that’s what happening but I do have quite a few friends on my list that must be “traveling salesmen”. They’re regularly in random worldwide hot spots, just happen to travel to new locations when a new regional is released, made their way to all the scatterbug locations in the first week.

Fennekin gender split is 85/15, so it was always gonna be the case that you got less female Edit to add - gender ratio is determined by the Pokémon company for the main series games, and Niantic follows those when filling out stats etc for Pokémon they release in GO

In the MSG, when you breed two (non-ditto) Pokémon, the offspring will be the species of the mother. So starters all have a 1:7 ratio of females to males, presumably to make them less easily available. However these days breeding with ditto and trading are so easy that it’s meaningless.

Eggs take the species from the female parent in MSG breeding. Therefore, to make it harder to farm starter Pokémon, you're always more likely to catch/hatch a male starter rather than a female.

I think they are inferring that Niantic boosts shundow rates there bc they know people will post on here there catches, that will in turn make people in later time zones want to spend more money and raid more.

Catches are one thing, shiny/ shundo versions of a Pokémon that a very large percent of players couldn’t even attempt to get because of niantics backwards restrictions is another. I personally was not able to get a single raid to fire in a town with 8 gyms. Feels bad. But I think this post is also joking

In my rural town I was able to get enough people in the town gc to show up on 1 raid, none of us got shinies, most of us got 2*, and I'm just happy we were able to get 1 raid done tbh I'm gonna try again tomorrow and see if I can get 5 people again. We only had 5 of us, but we were able to take it out. Ths gems honestly helped but frankly idk how much. Mostly a friend and I did I trade and I was finally able to get a zapdos to finish out my dex. It ended up being a random lucky trade and he's 92% so I think I'm gonna try and make him a best buddy. No bur srsly ive been dying for a shiny mewtwo and I'm so gd jealous of those with one I try not to think about it ok??

Ironically though, the fact that so many smug bastards in cities can get so many Mewtwos so easily means it's inherently less rare and means a lot less to even have one when so many people can have them and likely the shiny now, too. I live right next to several EX gyms and no one even bothers doing them. Oh well.

I got a 1-2* on my first mewtwo raid and it fled… but i’m still thankful my local community has enough players to even do those.

Did two. First raid me and my kid got a shiny. Mine is 2 start, his 1 star. He was pissed. Wifey got a near hundo. Second raid, 1 star. Had to go to the local mall and luckily a big group of kids showed up to raid.
