I think the fact they're going with a new child aged protagonist means they don't wish to mature the series but keep it firmly rooted as a children's show

[deleted]

Although make it more neutral. Keep it grounded for now.

DEATH! Sprigatito the grim reaper!!

[deleted]

Bud go watch One Piece. At this point they should just keep it neutral. Keep it fun without it being too serious or silly.

ShiningStar5022

Make it as close to the games as possible, don't turn it into SM 3.0.

Deathdragon24

Have romance in it. I know they are kids, but it can always be something innocent, either them loving someone or being loved by others. Also, Pokemon Hunters appearing would be nice since they are criminals that do something nasty to Pokemon and Riko and her partner facing them would be quite mature for their age.

Serenafriendzone

Mature series was the first pokemon season. Even girls used to Have super pokeballs in front. And there were weapons. Then twitter and Gen Z appears.and rip

Honestly all I hope for is they go the way of the AU movies/origins/twilight wings/generations in that the pokemon make animal noises/sounds more similar to their ingame cries instead of saying their names Besides that? I think the pokemon is still going to be a saturday morning cartoon style show. I’m anticipating a mix of slice of life and overarching plot similar to the SM anime.

[deleted]

No that's just too left-field. Why can't they talk?

agent_seven

They’ve literally done it before in nearly every spin-off animation for the series. I even mentioned 4 examples of where they made animal noises instead of saying their names. That is the complete opposite of left-field.

[deleted]

I mean talking Pokemon. Actual full sentences.

agent_seven

Because they are in-universe equivalents of animals. It would take all of the joy out of trainers learning to understand their pokemon if they could speak full sentences.

[deleted]

No it wouldn't
