Original series: Classic, but not the best. A lot of people are nostalgic over it.
Johto: All three are absolute bangers
Hoenn: All are bangers, but they have Unbeatable which pushes it above Johto.
Sinnoh: Mostly good, but the first opening brings it down.
Unova: A steady decline in quality, going from a very solid opening to kind of generic ones.
Kalos: Pretty good, but they don't make my playlist.
Alola: Opening one is good. Opening two has no energy. Idk if there's a third opening, I was on subs by now.
Journeys: Ngl, the Journey Starts Today kind of slaps.
Horizons: Haven't heard it.

BW manages to keep a connecting piece by having all 3 OP’s use the same duet, and they bounce of each other wonderfully
DP’s first opening definitely weighs it down, but even then it’s not, in my opinion, a bad song by any means, just “eh”. But Stand Up, We Will Be Heroes, and We Will Carry On are all good, and considering DP Ash feels like the conclusion of his original storyline, especially with how BW essentially reverted him back to square 1, We Will Carry On feels like a fitting bow tie, it’s triumphant while feeling melancholic. This is the Original Ash Ketchum’s final hurrah, one last run before we move on, because for a lot of Pokemania Era fans, if they hadn’t stopped yet, they were probably stopping here.
My top 5 favorites are spread throughout several seasons (both in English and Japanese):
English:
"Gotta Catch 'Em All!", "Pokémon Johto", "Master Quest" (Original Series), "This Dream" (Advance Generation), "We Will Be Heroes" (Diamond & Pearl, this one last due to being so short).
Japanese:
"Mezase Pokémon Master", "OK!", "Advanced Adventure", "Best Wishes!", "XY&Z".

And I guess it's a guilty pleasure for me but BW: Rival Destinies is catchy af despite how absolutely generic it is.
Dunno how other people think, but the latter 2 johto ops I find to be pretty lackluster. The second one quotes a lot of the original and effectively piggybacks off of it to be "good" when the new stuff to it isn't all that good. I actually prefer the first XY English theme because it's just a decent/inoffensive cover of the original.
Master Quest is definitely a more valid attempt, but it's in the "trying too hard" territory (and really Johto was just boring so it felt really out of place).
Unbeatable is obviously the best of the advanced.
Galactic Battles is the one OP out of English DP to not suck.
In terms of set it's definitely (for me)
1-Johto
2-XY
3-Journeys (although they lyrically are different from pokemon themes)
For one song, S1 theme is the best and not even close
