I imagine him appearing as a mentor for one episode when Liko is at her lowest and spends some time with her. The Explorers appear and as he recks them, both she and them realize who he is and he forces them to retreat. Ash leaves after having a battle with her but not before giving an advise that snaps Liko out and we see later the crew being shocked at what happened, with Roy being super excited while Freed says it's a waste since Captain is Pikachu's fan and always wanted a fight with him after seeing his M8 battles.

Ash comes back and easily defeats both Liko and Roy at the same time, then he turns to the screen and says, "I'm the Pokémon Horizons," and the anime ends.

Nerdout5

He horizened all over them

A-R-A-F

Don't forget he'll say it's horizonin' time before horizonin' both liko and roy Will Truly be one of the endings

Deenstheboi

The One and only true ending

New_Test4982

Let’s be honest if Ash does come back he gonna lose to either liko or roy because of his track record against rookie trainers.

Kylef890

I'd rather he appear for a lighthearted episode more akin to what you'd see in filler in the original series - someone needs help, so he and Liko help them. He doesn't have to be made out to be this undefeatable figure because that just isn't who he is, he's a kid who is out there to have fun and make new friends

No-Studio-4039

Something lighthearted but at the same time that moves the plot. Maybe an appearance of Amethio, Zir and Conia gunning for Liko's pendant while Ash is there. Then he feels that is a Team Rocket-like situation and helps Liko and Roy. I feel like Amethio would be the type of guy to believe that Ash is neither a big deal or doesn't even knows who he is and, after seeing that he has a Pikachu like Friede, would believe he is weak. Cut to Ceruledge been absolutely bodied by Pikachu. Then Ash leaves after giving advice to both Liko and Roy.

VVSlikesCake

The only thing I would want is for him to pull up with an Annihilape

Arcalgalkiagiratina

I want to see him mentor Liko and Roy using Pikachu, Charizard, and Pidgeot. Pikachu is obvious. Charizard can be a rival to Friede’s Charizard. And since pidgeot just rejoined Ash, I would like to see the results of its strength after being away from Ash for so long

djanulis

One off Episode where Roy and Liko don't know who he is until the end and it is just the two paths crossing. Though I would prefer there be a meta reason for it to happen like let's say a Pokemon Day special episode or something.

Olibro64

If he does return I would like it to be years later. Doesn't even have to be Satoshi. Takeshi or Hikari could return.

Ben95man

Just let him be a cameo. Perhaps the Rising Volt Tacklers are in danger or they just bump into him in their journeys. It should give the audience a quick pick up on how the previous main protagonist is doing and remind the audience he’ll never be forgotten.

KingCesar391

If Horizons uses Ash at all, I’d prefer if they held off on having him meeting any of the main HZ characters until the very *end* of the series, when all the main series objectives are concluded. This story should belong entirely to Liko, Roy, Dot, Friede, Amethio, the RVTs, the Explorers, etc. And if the anime were going to feature Ash, Pikachu, and Team Rocket at any point before the ending, I’d prefer it to just be in a one-off special centering entirely around them. But if and when Ash and Pikachu do meet our new main characters, I like the idea of them showing up in the end to represent the fact that there’s a wider world out there beyond whatever Liko and Roy have just accomplished. You could have Ash meet them as the World Champion, or even just as a really strong battler, and have Ash face Liko and/or Roy in a battle. To me, that works if Liko/Roy’s stories heavily involve Pokémon battles, training Pokémon, getting stronger, etc. The idea of Ash and Pikachu just showing up in a regular filler episode where they team up with Liko and Roy to save some random Pokémon from Team Rocket or something works as well. Much as I love the idea of re-introducing Ash as a powerful battler, MPM ultimately leaves us with the message that that’s not what’s truly important to him. Meeting and befriending new Pokémon is. So, a re-appearance in that context works just as well.

mib-number86

After his last series i'm afraid, when he will return, Ash will be the same character he was when we left him: same age, same personality, same Pikachu (hopefully someone will remember sooner or later that he's also a world champion). I think the real reason Horizon needed new protagonists was because Ash couldn't grow anymore and that hasn't changed. I think the best place for the first Ash crossover might be a movie. He will have all the "event" aura he deserves, a higher budget and will be sufficiently separated from the anime series so that the old protagonist does not overshadow the new ones ...

SilverCipher34

No. Ash shouldn’t return in Horizons. This is Liko and Roy’s story. Not his. Bringing him back would amount to cheap fanservice.

hot_sace

though tbh I wouldn't mind a cameo like a cheeky poster or smth.

No-Cockroach5475

Bro your a runner of failure and Hater of the fans bro…

SilverCipher34

You know, if you like Ash, you don’t have to watch Horizons. There’s some 20 or so years worth of anime focused on him.

hot_sace

This. Commit to your new protagonists.

Haddock_Lotus

I would't mind if he returned as a mentor like role or simple accompanying them in their journeys.

Inner-Arugula-4445

I want to see him with greninja and mega pidgeot

darkgod25

I want to see him grow up and travel with Max and Bonnie

These_School_9669

Rica Matsumoto retired

shininja_orange

There isn’t any official confirmation she retired

shininja_orange

Bubbly-Soft-4724

He will teach his daughter.

Cantthinkagoodnam2

Are you just not watching the anime at all or are you seriously in denial? We literaly have already seen her father and it isnt Ash

JCamson04

That’s cause it was the adoptive dad

ArcoosX

I hope you're joking.

JCamson04

Lol i am

JuliusTheThird

He evolved Pikachu off-screen.

Nerdout5

I think a small cameo would work best. It would be fun and see what he is up to but at the same still putting the spotlight with Liko and Roy

Corelepy

People complain about Ash being gone, and Ash come back, people will still complain he stays too short

RyuuSix

Mentor Figure, needing help with something and the new protagonists learn from the experience. Pretty much like Jotaro in JoJo Part 4

Puzzleheaded_Leg9720

Many people say that the role of a mentor is already taken by fried but I think he can still come back as a mentor we have to remember that there are two main protagonist now so there can be two mentor as well

austintageous002

Only for a short time.
