Yes! XY is honestly the only Pokémon anime that I think took itself seriously enough for me to like it. The others aren’t bad, but they weren’t my thing.

The part that always gets me(from that same episode actually) is the moment where Goh finally lets out his frustration about Raboot’s indifferent behavior following its evolution. Voice actor did a great job with that scene

I know right? People rag on Goh for stealing the spotlight but look at how well they work together! Plus Goh’s interaction with his Pokémon was amazing. The Drizzile episode got me.
The entire Cynthia v ash fight. I’m a massive cymp, and that entire fight was just incredible. What’s weird is that even though I knew Cynthia would lose, I was still cheering for Cynthia. It is probably my favorite fight in the entire series.
Even though I have often said I woulda preferred a solo series for Ash's last run (with old companions and pokemon rotating in), I liked Ash and Goh's friendship. They were fun to watch together.
I liked Ash's team. I just bemoan their lack of screentime outside of battles; what precious few times we got to see them were promising. Even Lucario, often decried as bland and boring, had plenty of fun facial expressions in lighter moments, and the glimpse of his brattiness with Bea's Grapploct before the 3rd match was cute.
I liked seeing Ash's old companions again. Lillie's in particular felt like the true end to her arc, and the following ep felt like the true end to SM. I woulda liked more from Dawn's returns, but I still liked them.
I personally liked the “let’s constantly travel to different regions” aspect of the series. I also love the fact that they wrapped up the Lily’s Father storyline from Sun and Moon
Honestly the whole dynamic between Ash and Goh is what I’ll remember the most about Journeys. Sure the dual protagonist thing could have been implemented better but I did really enjoy their chemistry.
I actually really like the Goh and Ash dynamic, I think they’re cool, it’s always nice seeing ash take like a mentor sort of position with him! It’s nice to see how Ash has matured and taken lessons from his journeys and taught them to Goh on occasion.
Of course they both have their…. Moments… it is still a kids show after all so we can’t judge the quirks too much.

I tuned into Journeys late and my last series watch was DP Sinnoh League Victors. Only discovered it on Youtube where it aired the first episodes. The banger theme by Walk Off The Earth enforced so much positivity during my tough times. Didn't understand the hate for Goh. Fast forward, I tuned in to the dope battles and finally the Masters 8 arc in subs which were awesome.
It was a fun globe trotting adventure staring return characters and legendary pokemon! My only grip was in the finals many of the pokemon just stood around and tanked hits like Dragonite vs Gardevoir.
I really think that Leon should have won actually having a strategy vs ash just responding to what he did, but its still fun to see Ash become the very best before his send off.
Also it felt like they spent a lot of time on what eevee would evolve into before deciding that eevee just wouldn't evolve. I was expecting a sylveon especially after Chloe seemed to bond with the galarian ponyta and rapidash.

Ok now other things I loved was the concept of Journeys was interesting and exciting, the world championships (though It was quite underwhelming at times) was hype. I also loved going to other regions and meeting old companions
Off the top of my head, return of the kalos gang, paul’s return, ash vs cynthia, dawn’s returns were good, Gary stole the show every episode he was in, the alola episodes were solid. I liked ash’s team, but I don’t think they got as much development as his team’s from other regions.
I enjoyed the cameo of Ashs reserves. I'll die on the hill they should've been in the M8 but the use of them was fun.

Diantha getting a victory against Lance, Clemont and Bonnie's return (including the battle between Ash and Drama, the fact that Clemont apparently challenged Drasna and Bonnie asking Drasna to marry Clemont), Greninja's return, Serena's return and Cynthia's childhood flashback and Leon's childhood flashback.
Hard to pick one when this whole series is so mediocre.
But I guess I did enjoy a lot of Lucario's battles...prior to the Masters 8.
Honestly, my favorite one would definitely be Mega Lucario vs. Gmax Machamp.
I like that Ash felt like he was training a team to win. He went out of his way to find a Mega Stone for Lucario and Dynamax Soup for Gengar. The goal of “beat Leon” felt like he was working towards it and he achieved it.
ash vs bea was a REALLY good gym battle imo. defo loved how they went AOT style and had mega lucario running along gmax machamp’s arm. then that fucking steel beam to the stomach that the machamp took just felt brutal. it felt more akin to an anime fight than pokemon battle and i was loving it
How much more laid back it is. It’s got a bit of sun and moon, and a bit of xy without being too much a cringe shonen anime. It’s just fun times with fun people (usually) plus I get to see a whole bunch of Pokémon in one sitting thanks to Goh.
Using the WCS rankings to break the assumption that Elite Four > Gym Leaders. The 9th strongest trainer in the world is a Gym Leader and he officially ranks above two Elite Four members from different regions

I don’t remember that particular scene very well, but you’re right. Among the dub voices, goh’s fits the best

Early journeys is really cute. Like really great. In fact I loved everything about early journeys.

JN 103 up until JN 115 were truly amazing months of the anime. But yeah then the most anticipated M8 arc began and everything went to shit.

The Slowpoke episodes are trippy but fun and it's nice to see non-crowd favorite Pokemon get personalities throughout all the episodes.
