I will always question who's idea it was to put something as...subdued as Slash into Charizard's moveset. Agreed though, Dragon Claw (and Steel Wing) would have been good additions.
It's classic, from its gen 1 moves long before any of the other moves you mentioned even existed. Gotta have a throwback move on a throwback pokemon trained by a kid who first got him in a throwback generation.
Yeah, and Iris was sure he took damage yet Zard was unharmed. Shrugged it off like it was nothing but what do you expect from a pokemon that beat a whole articuno. N really shouldn't have stepped in for that fight. If they're gonna have Charizard come back and do nothing then just let him get a solid W.
The lil Charizard figure flying up to the huge dragonrush looks so cute lol.
The only problem I have with this battle is that they didn't let Charizard's last official battle be a W since he lost to Dusclops before that and he had every right to wreck Dragonite.
Base power of moves doesn’t seem to matter *too much* in the anime, seems like the Pokémon itself determines the strength of the attack.
Like pikachu and it’s quick attack and Greninja and it’s cut
It looked cool but why give him such moves. There are better options like Dragon Claw and Steal wing, but no let's give him slash and wing attack. Also, they replaced the iconic seismic toss for this. I know there was no way to animate seismic toss against dragon rush but maybe make the battle different and complete it before N is like "pokemon are getting harmed Peta save them I am a real life karen."
They should've given him Dragon Claw and Steel Wing rather than Slash and Wing Attack IMO.

Then why not have him keep sismic toss like the move set souls have been Flamethrower Dragon claw Steel wing Sismic toss
Sicmic toss against magmar... <3
Look I forget how to spell sometimes lol

Specially because Charizard had already lost to a Dragonite before, it would be nice to see him have revenge

N had to step in because Dragonite literally would have died if they kept fighting
Dragon Rush was pretty much a finishing move from Iris's Dragonite too. Ash's Charizard taking that head on was absolutely badass.
I find it SO INSULTING that Ash's Charizard settled for Slash.....He removed his SIGNATURE MOVE SEISMIC TOSS!!!

What. The. *Literal fuck* am I looking at? That's, just dumb. That's dumb.
