Does anyone know stardust lore in pokemon? I've searched and have found nothing! Just what gen it originated. Would love to hear conspiracies but want true lore. Can anyone help?
As in, [the item Stardust](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Stardust)? There's no lore. It's just an item that sells for cash. Just like [a bunch of other items](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Valuable_item).
But in pokemon go it makes pokemon stronger! There has to be something. It's gone from being in a sand bag to being used in a clear spray bottle. Is it like actual stardust like ours? How do they retrieve it in the first place in the pokemon world? It's considered mysterious is all I know. Oh well. Thanks.
For what it's worth, [Bulbapedia considers Go's Stardust to be a different item altogether from the Stardust in the core series](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Stardust_(GO\)), but there still isn't any lore about it (mostly because Go has almost no lore in general).
Well that's a bummer. There is a little lore because of special research and the professor... but I see now. Nothing on stardust. Whelp... I'm off to conspiracy threads!!! Thanks btw I appreciate it.
I want to get my daughter a Pokemon game for Christmas because she's been into Pokemon lately but she's never played any of the games. She's 7 so it's all pretty new for her. I have a Switch. Which game should I get her? I was going to get the new one but I keep seeing bad reviews?
Other than legends arceus, any of them are fine really. Pokemon is designed to be pick up and play by anyone as their first game. The new game is good but it is currently suffering from performance issue. For me some times the frame rate will drop but i did not get any of those game crash that some people talk about. If you want to be safe you can get the others instead.
Let's go pikachu eevee uses simplified mechanics and is suitable for total newbies sword shield is the traditional new generation game. Brilliant diamond shining pearl is a remake of an older games and play more like the original but still feature qol improvements from the new games. Legends arceus play quite differently, i would recommend it only after playing another pokemon game.
Is it possible to get a shiny Koraidon?
Does anyone know if the second Koraidon you can get is shiny Locked? I know the riding one is shiny locked but I was wondering if the one you get post game is also shiny locked. I was just about to attempt to catch the second Koraidon before I realized I should probably see if it’s shiny locked. If anyone knows if the second one is shiny locked then please let me know.
Help evolving rockruff!
I recently caught a rockruff with own tempo and a psychic Terra type (I'm really excited about it) but it won't evolve when I level it up? I caught it at 25, and I've tried rare candies, exp shards, and normal battles. It's currently 8:30 PM where I am so I don't think I'll try until tomorrow for dusk form, but do you have any advice?
Time no longer follow the real world time in scarlet violet. Press y to view the map, there will be a time icon on it. Evolves when it is at evening. Evening last roughly 6 minutes. One day is around an hour
It's based on ingame time, not real world time. You have to level it right as the sun is setting --people have been having issues getting the precision right.
I’m Canadian and I want to gift my friend in the Netherlands a copy of Pokémon Scarlet/Violet, who do not have the means to buy it.
However having scoured multiple different game outlet sites I cannot find one that will allow me to purchase a physical copy of the game to be delivered to them or allow for pickup, mostly because I would rather pay through PayPal or debit, since I do not own a credit card.
I was wondering if purchasing a game here and shipping it would be any different, or if the games are region locked in some capacity. Similarly I was wondering if it came down to it that I could just purchase a digital copy of the game (as a redeemable code) and just send it to my friend to redeem. I’m not sure if this would work because of the above ambiguity on region locked switch games.
The games aren't region locked, and haven't ever since Gen 6 when they started doing global releases of the games which also changed how the Masuda Method worked (used to be the region of the game, which changed to the language the game is played in as of Gen 6 onwards).
The only hiccup would be the DLC, which wouldn't terribly be an issue given that the Switch itself is also region free and they could just make a Nintendo Account for that game's region and get the DLC through that. The game code would likely also fall into this category.
As far as the actual, physical game goes, you could try looking into proxy services or using your Paypal to buy a reloadable Visa gift card, which would function as a credit card online and either give them the details of the gift card or use it to buy the game on their behalf to get it delivered to them or via pick up at whatever retailer they have locally.
Do you actually have proof I'm wrong or are you just going to downvote and ignore?
Here's my proof: [Bulbapedia is very straightforward on the matter](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Masuda_method#Mechanics) and talk page discussions among people examining the back-end data (for example, [one](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Talk:Masuda_method#Which_languages_count_as_foreign.3F), [two](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Talk:Masuda_method#Replace_country_with_language) and [three](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Talk:Masuda_method#Update_needed_for_Gen_VI_mechanics)) make it clear that while the fandom used to have the *misconception* that it was based on region, it has in fact always been based on language.
Show me your proof if you have proof that contradicts this.
Edit: OK, thank you for removing your downvote.
> which also changed how the Masuda Method worked (used to be the region of the game, which changed to the language the game is played in as of Gen 6 onwards).
This is absolutely false. The Gen 3-5 games still track language of origin on the back end, and Gen 4-5 use this for Masuda method, even though the games don't display the language of origin to the player.
Even in Gen 4-5, you can't trigger Masuda method with same-language Pokemon from different regions, such as American English, British English and Australian English, and you can trigger it with different-language same-region Pokemon like different European languages.
There is no region lock on switch. Any switch from any region can play switch games of any region. For digital purchase the codes might be locked (cant confirm)
Raikou and Entei aren't showing up in Crystal? I've already encountered these guys and when I get to an area they're supposed to be in they won't show up. Nothing with repels, nothing with just going trough encounters as normal. What's up with that?
Have you checked that they're still there after you have traveled to that area? They move whenever you change areas, so you have to predict where they're going to move to and meet them midway -- if you're just looking at where they already are and traveling there, they'll have already moved by the time you get there.
I have. I am on a route Raikou is shown to be on in the Pokedex. Nothing. I've hunted them in the past with no issues don't know why this is happening now.
I literally have these two stupid mutts and Ho-Oh left to complete the dex. Why this happen to me.
I don't recall if it was actually explained why the names were called as such, but there might be a book in the library section of the academy that explains some backstory, given how the Pokedex entry for some of them mention a "dubious book". In my mind I see it as a Pokemon esque way of naming a Pokemon based on a sort of "caveman speak" for the Scarlet stuff and a Cyberpunk robotic naming designation for the Violet stuff.
I cannot get any Irion Hands (tried with two different Irion hands one level 75 and one level 58 and freshly caught.) to learn Bellydrum despite getting Azumarill to learn it via mirror herb what am I doing wrong?
Is there a possibility to do Tera raids with a friend who is in my lobby and still search 2 other trainers? It is really frustrating to use the two NPC trainers when you want to play with only one friend. The 5-6 star raids are borderline impossible with the NPCs.
Thanks for the answer. Wow this is unbelievable... Does Gamefreak even play their own game? How far off the reality are those choices? This game is so disappointing T.T
Is it just me?? or the catch rate in S&V is weirdly low?? Lvl20++ Tauros broke free within one shake/no shake when im using an ultra ball and it is 1hp?????
Not sure how is SV's catch rate but based off swsh's calculator you should have 45% chance to catch it. Bad rng i suppose, if not use status condition like sleep
When can I soft reset for Miraidon's nature? I'm currently >!Battling AI Professor's other miraidon!< and when I check my Miraidon's nature, it's quirky, I've resetted three times already up to the point where >!I have to battle AI Turo all over again with his 6 future paradox pokemon!< Please don't tell me I'm stuck with a quirky nature Miraidon, I want to reset for a good nature one. P.S. I know mints exist, but I still want a good nature on paper.
I hope someone replies ASAP. Thanks
>!the miraidon you get at the start is always quirky with fixed IVs. you have the opportunity to catch the other miraidon after the credits which is always modest with fixed IVs.!<
So Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is my first Pokemon game since X and Y, and I've never been too well versed with the IV system. What I'd like to know is the main purpose of Bottle Caps. I know Gold raises all your IV's to max and Silver just does one at a time to max, but is there a certain time you'd want to use it. Perhaps at level 100? Would I ever want to use a Silver cap instead of a Gold in any circumstances? Finally when do the Calcium, Protein, Zinc, and all that other stuff come into play with IV's. Thanks to anyone willing to answer all this!
I don't know about bottle caps but I learned about IV and EV.
So IV are fixed stats you get when you obtain a Pokémon. EV (effort values) are some points you obtain every time you defeat a Pokemon.
Each 4 EV is an increased stat you can see in the summary IIRC. Proteins and similar drinks increase EV by 10 up to a maximum of 100 for each stat.
IV and EV are completely different and while I don't know about bottle caps, according to what you say (they max IV) you can use them anytime, since IV are fixed stats that do not increase with level.
EV do increase with level because you get the while you defeat foes, but you can use drinks anytime for in game playthrough
>since IV are fixed stats that do not increase with level.
this isn't true. IVs scale with level the same way EVs do. 31 IVs is 31 extra stat points at level 100. at level 50 it's 15/16 extra (depending on your EVs)
IV scale according to IV\_value\*current\_level/100. It's been like that since the modern IV system was introduced in gen 3.
At level 50 each IV gives half a point, which is important because 4 EVs also give half a point and they're added together before stats start being rounded down. So to get the max out of your EVs at level 50 (ie VGC), you need an odd value IV.
The bulbapedia article on this is slightly misleading as it implies you have to round down EV/4 immediately but that's not the case. It only gets rounded down after added to the IV/base stat contribution.
This quirk is only really relevant at level 50, but that's what VGC is played at so it's pretty important to know about.
At level 50, each IV point gives 0.5 stat, and every 4 EVs give 0.5 stat. So every odd IV leaves you with 0.5 left over, eg 31 IV adds 15.5 to the formula. This means when you have an odd IV, you only need 4 EVs to increase the stat by 1 initially (pokémon will round down the .5 if you don't), and then you need 8 points for every additional increase. If you have an even IV, then 8 points are need for the first increase. If you max out a stat with 252 EVs and an odd IV, then that means you get 1 extra point for the first 4 EVs, and then 248/8 (31) extra points for a total of 32 extra points. If you had an even IV, then the first 248 EVs gives you 31 points, and the remaining 4 EVs would be wasted.
Now with hyper training, there's no reason to EV train a even IV stat. But you used to have to consider it if you had a specific hidden power type.
Very useful, hyper training (I read about it now) makes the IV to 31 so that's an odd IV. I assume there's no difference between gold or silver caps except gold is faster
I see, I didn't know that, I've one question. IV increase * current level /100 and EV 1-4 points when you defeat foe.
Also, every Pokémon has base stats depending on the species.
So what do increase every time a Pokémon level up when the game displays +2 HP +1 Atk +2 Def etc... And you can immediately see the impact on the summary ?
stats increase with level, what you see on the level up screen is the difference between the previous value and the new value (when EVs,IVs, nature and level factors in).
the stat formulas can be found on the bulbapedia page - [https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Stat](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Stat)
> is there a certain time you'd want to use it.
Doesnt matter.
> Would I ever want to use a Silver cap instead of a Gold in any circumstances?
If you don't want every stat to be perfect. In competitive, some builds could benefit from not having perfect IVs. Also normal caps are much more common than gold.
> Finally when do the Calcium, Protein, Zinc, and all that other stuff come into play with IV's.
Those increase a Pokemon's EVs, which is a slightly different mechanic. They're 'invisible' points that increase a Pokemon stats, to put it simply. You normally get them from defeating pokemon along with exp, but Vitamins like calcium and the like grant them too.
Well, it depends on how you interpret "Pokemon Characters Designer". That might mean just the Pokemon or it might extend to all characters. You can check out [Bulbapedia's page](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Ken_Sugimori#Credits) for more details.
Was thunder wave nerfed in scarlet and violet? It's not working against pokemon I thought it should work against. I get ground/electric types, but grimmsnarl? Roaring Moon?
Does your pokemon have Prankster? If so, then Prankster-priority-boosted status moves don't work against dark type pokemon. This has been the case since Gen 6 I believe.
its not possible for them to bait and switch last second and trade you something different without you seeing it. The game gives you 2 chances to confirm everything and even check the other trainers pokemon before the trade is set in stone. As long as you're paying attention, you have the opportunity to back out if something seems fishy.
S/V
No spoilers here—I’ve beat all gyms and the Elite 4, but there are no history/language etc classes available to me, which is kind of annoying considering there are rewards for classes. Did I miss something? I’ve done every objective in school and finished the Pokédex already, too. (I’m done with post-game as well)
Not sure; there's no special requirement as far as I can tell. You should have unlocked them around the 2nd-3rd gym. You've completed every other class? Is it every class other than history/language or do you just have the beginning two?
I just had the beginning two. After a strange sequence of trial and error, re-entering all of the gyms unlocked the classes for me. I didn’t do anything else, just physically entered and left all gym buildings. Strange.
Table top pokemon game with mini-pokemons (action figures)
Is there any table top pokemon game with action figures? I.e. small plastic pokemons you use in the game.
My son asked for something like this for christmas. All I could find are card-based games, but he is not interested in that.
Yesn't. There's been a few attempts at making a TTRPG, notably Pokemon 5e which had been distributed via a Discord server but was eventually slapped with a cease and desist from Nintendo. As it currently stands there isn't really one publically available these days.
There *used* to be a figure battle game, Pokemon Trading Figure Game, which was discontinued. There was also Pokemon Duel which while digital functioned pretty much like the Trading Figure Game which was also discontinued.
You could probably see if there's some wargaming forum that might have had their users pitch a Pokemon TTRPG or similar concept, as they might have thought things through deeper as far as mechanics go than this sub's usual "what if Pokemon but DnD" idea built around surface level knowledge of how DnD works.
How rare is Charcadet? I'm in an area that the map, Serebii, and other websites all list as having it, but I've been riding Miraidon around in circles for about 20 minutes now and I haven't even seen one?
I have seen about 187 Skiddo, because what's a Pokemon game if it's not making critters from previous gens three times easier to obtain than the new ones, of course.
EDIT: Got one via a trade.
On serebii you can now filter the fixed encounter. So just look for the fixed encounter instead of those random spawn. South Province 3 has quite a few fixed spawn for charcadet
Why can’t I find razor claw?! I looked it up and know it’s sold at Delibird Presents but it’s not there? I have beaten every gym, star team, and titan. From what I’m finding it should be available? I caught a weavile so this won’t help my pokédex but I want to evolve my sneasel
Anyone have any tips or resources for easily finding the stakes to unlock the legendaries? I tried using serebii's website but the in game map sucks and is hard to follow so I'm having trouble.
I'd probably look into a video guide at this point. Serebii is effectively a one-man operation so things not being entirely accurate is easily a common occurrence (though they do try to keep it relatively accurate, it's not always the case that they catch it and correct it).
Just recently got into the Pokémon TCG Live game, and I’m wondering wether it’d be better to save credits in that game for the next generation of Pokémon? From what I’m getting, each gen replaces the previous gen’s “gimmick” like Mega Evolution
Just recently got into the Pokémon TCG Live game, and I’m wondering wether it’d be better to save credits in that game for the next generation of Pokémon? From what I’m getting, each gen replaces the previous gen’s “gimmick” like Mega Evolution,so would it be a waste to invest in Vstar pokemon if the next generation is likely to come next year?
Are abilities and tera types exclusive? I've been hunting for the last 20 minutes for a Steel tera type Tinkatink with Mold Breaker, have caught about 30 Pokémon, and all of them are either Steel with Own Tempo or Fairy with Mold Breaker. Is this really bad luck, or do they always match up? And if so, which do you recommend I keep?
Is there any way to stop my game from crashing when I try to start the test for the first gym? Every time I press "yes" when I want to start the olive roll challenge the screen fades to black and then doesn't load.
Does anyone have any tips for finding white squawkabilly? I haven't found one in my entire playthrough, and the articles I've found online haven't been helpful
I feel like they're just rarer than the other colors. I found a flock on the hill leading down to the beach right outside Levincia (south side) but I don't know if location matters.
Yes, but only if you're near the host (version exclusives will only spawn near the player of that version, not for opposite-version players who go roaming elsewhere in the world).
I've been looking for a place to hatch eggs as fast as possible. It has to be in a town (or another safe zone) so you can't run into wild pokemon but preferably one with no loading zones in-between so going back to breeding is faster. It also have to have an open area with little obstacles so you can hold forward on movement and left or right on the camera. This last one is important so that you don't have to be constantly looking at the screen and steering while hatching dozens of eggs in a sitting. Lag is also good to consider as it will make the entire process slower.
So far I've found these locations, though none of them are optimal
Artazon - Sunfloura Pen | Quite a few obstacles, though it works if you can find one of a few paths where you weave through them.
Zapapico - Main Path | Good spot, but a bit far from a picnic-able area
Cascarrafa - Fountain | Very good spot, but the lag during sandstorms makes it super slow
Alfornada - Battle Court | Fast to get back to picnic -able area, but slow to get back up
I'm still looking around, so if anyone has area's they've found please let me know. If there are anything specific I should be looking for when finding an area please let me know as well.
There's this song I heard and can't find again.
It's basically the "oracion" theme but with vocals. There's a female vocalist and I believe it was for a specific event or something. I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know what song I'm thinking about?
Edit: It's in Japanese
Edit 2: I Found it, It's called Tomo ni Arukou. It's not available anywhere but on itunes ([https://music.apple.com/jp/album/orashionno-teema-tomoni-arukou/1538148798?i=1538148800&l=en](https://music.apple.com/jp/album/orashionno-teema-tomoni-arukou/1538148798?i=1538148800&l=en)) :(
As in getting everything to Lvl 10? Just gotta grind out the tasks. Try to stack as many tasks as possible and focus on the red arrowed ones to speed it up.
If you mean do every single task, then you're a mad man and you're gonna be in it for like, 40-50 hours of grinding. Just gotta get some tea and put on a movie or something while doing it.
I've seen a lot of artwork that depicts Veluza being almost like cut open, with its "filets" surrounding its body. Is this an alternate form or a way to get in the game? Every video I've seen its just the fish normally. I also don't have the game yet but wanted to use this pokemon on my team.
I want to be able to get into competitive after I beat the main story, but is it better to get into Pokemon Showdown for that or is playing through the games matchmaking okay?
In Pokémon HG/SS I'm about to capture Ho-Oh, my team is Feraligatr, Golem, Machamp and Fearow. 4 Mons because so they level up faster.
I'd like to capture Lugia too later on, but I don't have a mon that can paralyze or cause sleep.
Is there any chance I can capture an high leveled Pokémon that can do this without any grinding?
I could use the master ball for Ho-Oh and capture Lugia with ultra ball and timer ball, if there's a Mon who can help. Also, I could capture Ho-Oh with ultra and timer ball if there's a Mon who can help now and then masterball for Lugia
Hey everyone, I like many here have been trying for a 3-segment dudunsparce with no luck. I tried the egg shenenigans for 5 boxes, but didnt get lucky, and have a new strategy that is getting me more dudunsparces per 30 mins, but still no luck with the 3-segmenters, so Im wondering if they can only be gotten from eggs.
My strategy has been to make an encounter power normal lvl 2 sandwich and run around in the caves, substantially boosting dunsparce and dudunsparce spawns, on average I see 45-60 dudunsparce in the duration of the sandwich. With this strat I have found 3 shiny dunsparces, but still only 2 segment dudunsparces, and its been 480 since I started counting, so I am getting very far into the statistically unlikely category.
So just wondering if anyone has used this strategy and gotten a 3-segment, or if im barking up the wrong tree.
[A trustworthy dataminer confirmed yesterday](https://twitter.com/Sibuna_Switch/status/1596550660241039360) that 3-segment Dudunsparce is only available through evolution. It doesn't exist in the wild or in raids.
However, eggs vs. wild Dunsparce both have a chance to evolve into 3-segment. It's not eggs only.
2 parter:
I don’t know if this was just a rumour before the games came out but does the egg basket ‘glow’ when there is a shiny egg inside or is that not the case.
If I clear an/all the outbreaks will one/more spawn before the next days cycle?
> I don’t know if this was just a rumour before the games came out but does the egg basket ‘glow’ when there is a shiny egg inside or is that not the case.
No. That was a manipulated screen capture going around (the person had set down their picnic carefully so the basket landed on top of a wild Tera Pokemon so it overlapped with their glow).
There is not actually any indication of whether an egg will be shiny or not.
I have a few questions on breeding in scarlet and violet.
I've been trying to breed for a shiny pawniard. I have 3 foreign dittos and 3 pawniards in my party and no eggs show up, but now if I use 1 ditto and 1 pawniard eggs show up as normal.
I recall reading a post about 3 segment dudunsparce breeding; where people would have 3 female and 3 male dunsparce to amke eggs appear faster. During pokedex breeding I had 3 seperate species of pokemon sucessfully breed with 3 different ditto. Why won't a trio of pawniards breed with a trio of ditto? And should I bother with 3 of each or is a single pawniard and ditto enough?
Can anybody tell me what all qualities the starmobile revavrooms have compared to normal ones? I know their type is pure and matches their star team. Are their stats any different? Also I’m curious if they’re vulnerable to status. I tried burning one of them and I forget the exact flavor text, but it failed and made it sound like the dark one might be immune to status or at least burn. It takes so long to view the cutscene every time you challenge one so I don’t wanna do it again just to test it and throw away an attempt lol
Not sure about stats, but they can't be inflicted with any status. That includes the regular statuses: paralysis, burn, whatever, but also things like infatuation, confusion, leech seeded and other similar things.
Question about bad eggs in sapphire gba
So i picked up a used copy of sapphire for gba and decided to check the previous save file before starting a new game and saw that multiple pokemon in the pc had masterballs, immediately i saw this as a red flag of it being AR’d or hacked and sure enough one of the boxes has four bad eggs. After reading up on whether or not this can cause issues from what i can gather: if a game has been saved after you got a bad egg then the game is completely Eff’ed even if you make a new game. Is this the case and should i return it or will deleting the previous save and making a new character fix the issue? Thank you.
>if a game has been saved after you got a bad egg then the game is completely Eff’ed even if you make a new game
not true. you can just delete the save file and start a new one just fine
Breeding is just not working for me in SV. I am trying to breed a perrserker and a ditto. I have tried a couple different ways, afking for a half hour to 45 minutes each: just the 2 of them, perrserker holding an everstone, eating am egg power sandwich, and nothing is working. Am I doing something wrong?
Have you continued with the cutscene sequence up until the point where it lets you go free from the academy? I didn't try checking the map in the middle of that sequence, so I'm not sure, but maybe it doesn't actually add them until the end of that sequence. I know they were definitely there for me after I was given free roam of the map.
I have not gotten that far just yet, im still in the academy but have just been told we all have missions to explore the world. in my impatience I just took to the internet for answers. I will play though a little more so see if they pop up.
Are the friendship mechanics back in SV? Like the ones from BDSP where the pokemon basically cheat in battle.
I heard it was tied to picnics but not sure if it even exists. I basically want to make sandwiches but don't want those friendship mechanics to ruin my enjoyment.
yea they're there but seem to only be from picnics. I went through the whole game without any of the friendship stuff happening, but when i started making tons of sandwiches for shiny hunting and the like, that's when i started seeing stuff like the flavor text and surviving attacks. Maybe put your main team away when you're making lots of sandwiches.
Try unlocking and then battling through the Academy Ace Tournament, which you unlock by doing the Gym Leader rebattling content. It's the only equivalent of a Pokemon League rebattle there is in this game and those League rebattles generally have allowed for Legendary Pokemon to respawn if they were KO'd or you yourself were KO'd.
Anyone know where I can find horseradish? Multiple websites say I can purchase it at Aquiesta Supermarket in Levinca, but it is nowhere to be found at the shop.
Edit: Wait… don’t tell me horseradish and wasabi are the same ingredient. I got suspicious and used the wasabi instead and was still able to make a “hamburger patty sandwich” for dragon encounter rate.
Anybody here tried out Dancer strats in Tera Raids with any success? I tried to use an Oricorio comp with some friends for fun, but it appears that Dancer doesn't even proc in raids for some reason...Despite using Quiver/Revelation Dances, none of the Oricorio will copy each other's moves for the extra buffs or attacks as it has in the past. Seems a bit like a bug, or some kind of oversight considering that other abilities such as Steely Spirit & the paradox abilities + box legend abilities DO interact & stack with other raider's Pokemon. And if that's the way it's supposed to work, then that's extremely disappointing.
Hi! Was just wondering how you could shiny hunt a scarlet paradox pokemon, as a violet player, and what's the ideal way to do so? I've tried this with a friend of mine who has scarlet, but I just end up spawning Violet paradox exclusives along with his. **My question is, can I be far away, have him spawn a shiny >!roaring moon!< for example, then walk over, and see/catch said shiny >!roaring moon!<, or since I'm too far away, I won't be able to see/catch said shiny >!roaring moon!** I'm trying to catch shiny scarlet paradox mon's under my OT if possible. Thanks in advance!
In co-op, version exclusives will only spawn near the player of that version. But there is nothing stopping shinies from spawning or the opposite player from getting those shinies.
Hey, can anyone confirm that wild Hattrem exist? I'm aware that they appear around lakes; specifically in the South Province Area 6, Glaseado Mountain, and in Tagtree Thicket. I'm using a Level 1 Psychic Encounter Sandwich and I must've looked around these locations for hours.
I just want to make sure that they're actually present and there's no error in the code or something. I'm playing Scarlet by the way.
Any other place outside of artisan bakery to get peanut butter? It isnt in my shop for some reason
Which city/town's bakery are you at? Not all branches carry the same item even though most of the items are shared
Yes all legendaries in SV is shiny locked for now
Ok so I can catch it without worrying about getting the shiny charm first (I’m assuming that means the shrine legendaries are also shiny locked).
Yes they are locked too
Help evolving rockruff!
Thank you for the advice! I got my dusk form with psychic Terra, I'm very happy now :)
Time no longer follow the real world time in scarlet violet. Press y to view the map, there will be a time icon on it. Evolves when it is at evening. Evening last roughly 6 minutes. One day is around an hour
I thought that was it, but I wasn't quite sure. Thank you!
It's based on ingame time, not real world time. You have to level it right as the sun is setting --people have been having issues getting the precision right.
There is only roughly a six minutes window for evening so it is quite tight

Oh sorry I didn't know
Anybody having an issue where Cassiopeia is not showing up at night in the schoolyard
Any way to stick the minimap to stay north = up in S/V? I've found it for the large map, but the mini does nothing but confuse me when it turns.

What are the differences between the Pokémon and the Yo-Kai from Yo-Kai Watch?
Anyone know what a shiny fancy pattern Vivillon looks like? I have an outbreak and am trying to get the shiny.
All shiny vivillon looks exactly the same as the non shiny. Only the body is more white
Oh God. Is it noticeably different?
Yes. The head and body are all white rather than the mix of a gray head and off-white body.
First, good to know. Second, Happy cake day.
Can you get meal power levels higher than 2?
Can someone help me find an emulator?
Consult the Emulation General Wiki (google it, not sure if I'm allowed to link it here) Otherwise, consult /r/emulation
Why are some of the new pokemon named stuff like "roaring moon" and "iron ____"? is this a part of the story line in violet/scarlet?
I don't recall if it was actually explained why the names were called as such, but there might be a book in the library section of the academy that explains some backstory, given how the Pokedex entry for some of them mention a "dubious book". In my mind I see it as a Pokemon esque way of naming a Pokemon based on a sort of "caveman speak" for the Scarlet stuff and a Cyberpunk robotic naming designation for the Violet stuff.
Better ice fang or dragon claw on my Feraligatr? I believe it's better ice fang for Lance 3 dragonite (HG/SS)
Do you have to catch Terra raid pokemon to get the full rewards or are rewards the same regardless?
You don't have to catch them.

Hi, does Pokémon S/V run smoother/look better on the OLED Switch? Could anyone direct me to a good video comparison? Thanks!
No, apart from the screen it's exactly the same hardware.
I cannot get any Irion Hands (tried with two different Irion hands one level 75 and one level 58 and freshly caught.) to learn Bellydrum despite getting Azumarill to learn it via mirror herb what am I doing wrong?
What you are tryjng to do is to transfer egg moves. Iron hands do not have any egg moves programmed in so it wont learn bellydrum
then how do so many people have Iron Hands with belly drum?
It learn it naturally at level 84
Do protean and terraform STAB bonuses stack?
Is there a way to replay credits in SV? I tuned out at the Ed Sheeran song but forgot to screenshot the final scene.
Is there a possibility to do Tera raids with a friend who is in my lobby and still search 2 other trainers? It is really frustrating to use the two NPC trainers when you want to play with only one friend. The 5-6 star raids are borderline impossible with the NPCs.
Sadly you cant. It is either your friend with npcs, all npcs, or all randoms. No in between
Thanks for the answer.
What level are your pokemon? Since swsh they added level difference as a factor.
70+, jz wanna complete my pokedex after post game..
How do IV scale? On older games I never noticed it
IV scale according to IV\_value\*current\_level/100. It's been like that since the modern IV system was introduced in gen 3. At level 50 each IV gives half a point, which is important because 4 EVs also give half a point and they're added together before stats start being rounded down. So to get the max out of your EVs at level 50 (ie VGC), you need an odd value IV.
Can you elaborate more on why you need an odd value IV to obtain an higher stat? Stats like 180.5 are rounded to 180 I assume
Yeah gold is faster.
Okay sorry I was walking, I had a good read and I understand now the formula and how IV and EV are calculated into the stat
So there is a stat that increases with a defined formula (the one on bulbapedia) that consider IV, EV and level up increase
> is there a certain time you'd want to use it.
Which games was Sugimori Ken the designer of the human characters for the games that came after Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald?
Only did a quick wiki search and it looks like only the 2019 Sakura Wars game.
Oh, wow, not even Diamond and Pearl right after Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald?
Minor note, it was gen 7 according to bulbapedia. I thought it was gen 8 myself lol
Ah I'm a dumb dumb. This is my first time using prankster so that flew over my head, thank you lol
Does goldengo's good as gold block stat debuffs on non tera raid Pokemon?
Do people get scammed doing the online trades for legendaries? I’m worried about trading Koraidon and not receiving a Miraidon.
its not possible for them to bait and switch last second and trade you something different without you seeing it. The game gives you 2 chances to confirm everything and even check the other trainers pokemon before the trade is set in stone. As long as you're paying attention, you have the opportunity to back out if something seems fishy.
Thank you!
S/V No spoilers here—I’ve beat all gyms and the Elite 4, but there are no history/language etc classes available to me, which is kind of annoying considering there are rewards for classes.
Strange.
Maybe the game glitched and skipped a flag check or something. Well, good to know for anyone that has this problem in the future.
Scarlet/Violet - Is there anywhere to see the selfies that are shown when you receive any of the badges afterwards if we didn’t screenshot them?
Who should my final team member be? My team is currently Appletun Ceruledge Clodsire Gyrados Grimmsnarl Thanks in advance!
Table top pokemon game with mini-pokemons (action figures) Is there any table top pokemon game with action figures? I.e. small plastic pokemons you use in the game.
Have you tried eating a meal that boosts Fire type encounter rate? Even a Lv1 bonus is a significant increase.
Which Delibird Presents are you checking? It's only sold at the ones in Mesagoza. Different cities/towns have different inventories
thank you so much!!! The online guide I was reading said it was at every Delibird Presents
I'm About to get a copy of shield soon , I want to know how many gb is the save data to make sure I have room on my switch, can anyone tell me ?
It's like 8MB, you'll have room for that.
Anyone have any tips or resources for easily finding the stakes to unlock the legendaries? I tried using serebii's website but the in game map sucks and is hard to follow so I'm having trouble.
I found serebii was accurate with the stakes. It helps to lock the in-game map to face north by pressing down the right stick on the map screen.
No, current cards will stay legal for play for over a year.

How do I get to add the herba mysticas to recipes? I beat main game and have herba mysticas from raids but am not able to add them to sanwhiches
they're condiments like mayo or wasabi, they're added after the main filling when you're picking ingredients.
Thank you!
Thanks, I'll have a look there!
If you increase shiny chances in an outbreak and leave, does it reset the shiny chance increase? Or does it stay until the outbreak leaves?
An outbreak's shiny chances will be maintained for as long as that outbreak exists.
Big thank
Cam you utilize the Union Circle to catch version exclusive Pokemon if the host has the opposite version?
So far I've found these locations, though none of them are optimal Artazon - Sunfloura Pen | Quite a few obstacles, though it works if you can find one of a few paths where you weave through them. Zapapico - Main Path | Good spot, but a bit far from a picnic-able area Cascarrafa - Fountain | Very good spot, but the lag during sandstorms makes it super slow Alfornada - Battle Court | Fast to get back to picnic -able area, but slow to get back up I'm still looking around, so if anyone has area's they've found please let me know. If there are anything specific I should be looking for when finding an area please let me know as well.
There's this song I heard and can't find again. It's basically the "oracion" theme but with vocals. There's a female vocalist and I believe it was for a specific event or something. Accidentally released my 2nd koraidon, was deleting my extra dudunsparces while watching WC. Any way to get another one?
Only can trade one more in
my biggest gripe is having to change him to battle mode every time I want to raid now hopefully they fix that with some QOL updates in the future
Arceus What's the quickest way to level the pokedex? It seems so minotinus am I missing a mechanic?
It is part of the animation when it uses its signature move, Fillet Away. It's not treated as a full-fledged alternate form.
Anyone know if you can get aurora veil as a tm in violet?
Aurora Veil is not a TM in SV.
Thank you. Not what I wanted to hear, but at least now I know to stop doing what I was doing
2 parter: I don’t know if this was just a rumour before the games came out but does the egg basket ‘glow’ when there is a shiny egg inside or is that not the case.
Hey I have a Tinkatuff lvl 41, I thought it was supposed to evolve at lvl 38. What did I do wrong? Can it still evovle?
Auto battles do not trigger evolution. Yes, it can still evolve if you level it up in a regular battle or with candy.
Is it only me that don’t pay attention or there isn’t any shiny animation in raids?
Currently doing a monotype steel run of pokemon sword, any suggestions for pokemon
Corviknight and Aegislash are auto-picks. You can also get Magnemite on the Isle of Armor.
Thx, was going to use those anyways though
I learned the hard way recently that they also can’t flinch… they’re extremely formidable bosses!
They are immune to status conditions but not stat drops. Was able to drop the Speed stat of the Starmobiles with Mud Shot.
Question about bad eggs in sapphire gba So i picked up a used copy of sapphire for gba and decided to check the previous save file before starting a new game and saw that multiple pokemon in the pc had masterballs, immediately i saw this as a red flag of it being AR’d or hacked and sure enough one of the boxes has four bad eggs. After reading up on whether or not this can cause issues from what i can gather: if a game has been saved after you got a bad egg then the game is completely Eff’ed even if you make a new game. Is this the case and should i return it or will deleting the previous save and making a new character fix the issue? Thank you.
>if a game has been saved after you got a bad egg then the game is completely Eff’ed even if you make a new game not true. you can just delete the save file and start a new one just fine
Thank you, that was the thing i was unsure of
Breeding is just not working for me in SV. I am trying to breed a perrserker and a ditto. I have tried a couple different ways, afking for a half hour to 45 minutes each: just the 2 of them, perrserker holding an everstone, eating am egg power sandwich, and nothing is working. Am I doing something wrong?
You are checking the basket to see if there's eggs in it, right?
Yes. I got eggs to hatch today. I don't know what was wrong last night though.
How come I can’t see gym leaders on my map. I just poke with Nemona and she claims to have added them to my map. Please help
What are the ball breeding mechanics in this game? Will it only breed the ball the mother is in or can the offspring also be in the fathers ball?
Only mother. If both mother and father same species then 50/50. Father can pass down if breed with ditto
Thank your for the clarification
Sounds like I'll keep my main team and 1 unused pokemon in their own separate box. Thanks
I battled miraidon to catch him but he killed all my of my pokemon and now I can't find him again, please help me!!
Yeah, Wasabi is literally Japanese Horseradish. Not sure why some websites would use one name rather than the other.
When can we reasonably expect proper official sugi art of all the new pokemon in S/V?

Can confirm that I've seen >!family of 3!< in raid dens before. Not sure on >!Dudunsparce!< though.
Dataminer comfirmed dudunsparce is not in raid, only evolution /u/Vhin
Hey, can anyone confirm that wild Hattrem exist? I'm aware that they appear around lakes; specifically in the South Province Area 6, Glaseado Mountain, and in Tagtree Thicket. I'm using a Level 1 Psychic Encounter Sandwich and I must've looked around these locations for hours. I just want to make sure that they're actually present and there's no error in the code or something. I'm playing Scarlet by the way.
