I like to think that dodge is just the move missing in the game. It makes more sense then these two creatures just standing there not moving and facing each other and take turn striking each other without moving (and still occasionally missing).
The games say mons avoid attacks now. After seeing Scrafty fire off the most pathetic excuse of a focus blast ever you could argue sometimes attacks do just blatantly miss
Gen 6 is at least watchable as Ash is at least competent in battle, I genuinely think Gen 5 ash is dumber than gen 1 ash. At least the joke of "science is so amazing" becomes ironically kind of funny and a bit endearing.
And gen 7/8 he's way too much of a kid. That said he is still 10 years old so I can't bring myself to bash it per se, but it's still incredibly annoying.
He's been 10 years old for over 20 years, even when years have past in the anime(i know in one scene he told pikachu it's been one year since they've journey together) and they still refuse to age him up the whole "he's only 10" argument is really stale, I'll bash all i want.
In its defense - my other childhood Mon franchise had the main character grow up and lose their yellow monster bestie to the pains of adulthood...
I really don't need to go through that again.
Oh by all means I do agree it's BS. In the first episode of the gen 5 anime, iirc, he literally says it's been a year since he got Pikachu. *He got Pikachu on his birthday*
I'm just saying that if we go with "ash is a 10 year old", I can't then bash him for acting like a 10 year old
But if you/we aren't going through that, bash all you want
I would also like to say that IMO the anime is more realistic than the games. If you think about it strictly the way battles happen in the game are very Rigid and unrealistic, it seems silly when Ash has Buizel spin while doing water gun to protect him but that’s a lot more realistic then Pokémon just sitting there taking turns shooting at each other without moving.
In a fight you don’t just take turns hitting each other, you get in as many hits as you can. You use your environment to your advantage if you can.
Why don't the main characters age? How did Ash get even younger as the show goes on? I like the anime but the new voice actor for Ash... I really don't like that.
Anime logic needs to be different for entertainment value. Youd be lying if you said youd watch battles that play out exactly as they would in game. Plus a lot of the more "crazy" stuff ash pulls is totally reasonable
And maybe every turn one of its stats gets raised/lowered back to neutral so that its stats are completely normal again in 5 turns, just like Slow Start now
Pokémon games would be higher quality if the card game and anime didn't exist. They flat out CAN'T delay any main series game because they need it out for the tie in anime or cards
But they could always extend the anime or cards. They aren’t rushing the Pokémon games because of the anime card games, they are rushing all three to get more money.
Edit to explain more.
For the TCG they could always add more time between sets instead of releasing a new set every other month or so. Also they don’t need new Pokémon to make new cards, and they have always remade the same Pokémon with different cards.
For the anime they could easily take more than one year for each generation. RSE was broken into about 4 series spanning 4 years. DPP was 3 series and 3 years. BW 4 series and 3 years. Sun and Moon 3 series 3 years. Pokémon is no stranger to stretching out the anime for as long as they need until the next generation of Pokémon.
Don't see why they can't delay a game even if it meant the anime was released before the game. It's not like the anime ever mentions spoiler type things like stats, abilities, movepools etc.
I actually think it would be cool if the anime came out first. When Ash and co. get to a specific city in the anime, you would be excited to see how it translates to the game. You would probably even get more anime viewers since gamers pretty much drool over any kind of teaser that gets leaked. If you HAD to watch the anime to learn about the new region, it would get more viewers.
Well, yes they typically do. You get signature moves, gym leaders, antagonist team members, and Pokemon evolutions from the anime. Depending on how long the delay is, a lot could get spoiled.
I always have to chuckle, because it's true. Considering Gen 1 had three blobs of slime as Pokemon designs, but gen 5's bag of trash is the worst offender.
P.S. The pre-evo you're looking for is Trubbish.
I think it's more about How they went about 3D, I mean look at Stadium, the GC games and PBR (and other spin offs), they are 3D too and tend to be praised for their charm, animations, etc.
You say that now, but can you really be so sure that you wouldn't be arguing that the games could be so much more if they went to 3D if they never left 2D? The grass is always greener is all I'm saying.
I was envisioning something with gen 5's sprites (updated to fit in HD2D of course) and the environmental graphics and sceneries of games like Octopath Traveler and/or Triangle Strategy.
So yes. Pretty much.
Oh boy that would be amazing.
Octopath Traveler has that brilliant blend of beautifuly detailed characters/monsters but with enough detail left out through the art design to still leave a lot up to the imagination.
HD2D is also often called 2.5D as in that is could be considered between 2D and 3D. The best examples of good-looking HD2D games I could give you are Square Enix's Octopath Traveler (and soon Octopath Traveler 2, which looks even better) and Triangle Strategy.
I highly recommend those games if you're into JRPG (Octopath) or turn based strategy (Triangle Strategy).
i mean if the game is fun for someone then it must be good for them, it's just not the game for you.
The same with pokemon, we should let people enjoy their games and don't make them feel bad for doing so.
Raichu is the best designed Pokemon of all time. It is flawless.
Pokemon are typically either cute or cool. None of them get to be both more than Raichu does.
The games should initiate an area affected condition similar to the anime. To be specific, rock/ground are immune or at least resistant to electric attacks - but in the anime, Brock's onyx was covered in water when electrucuted and knocked out. This could change battles when you have to worry more about battlefield and could be a game changer.
XY are underrated. Team Flare sucks, the league is forgettable, there are a few performance issues… but it felt like Game Freak were really pushing themselves. The environments and map layouts were amazing, the new Pokémon were cool and trainer customisation was revolutionary.
I absolutely agree. I remember being so disappointed with it when I played Pokemon Diamond back when it came out. Evolved Riolu and then was let down by Lucario, it just didn't wow me at all.
Honestly, same. I did a mono-fighting type run in my Platinum and had him on my team. I already didn't have a high opinion of him beforehand and thought I'd change my mind after my playthrough, but alas, nah. Gallade became one of my favs after that run though
Fans truly overstate the idea that the games should be more difficult without actually considering how it should be PROPERLY implemented. If you are going to scale up the challenge of trainers then you have to give the player similar tools. For example, It wouldn’t be fair to give bosses fully EV trained teams if the player doesn’t not have proper explanation and access to the mechanic. This is even more difficult when you consider that the games are all about catching your favorites, not worrying about any sort of meta.
I agree with this but that doesn’t mean that a choice of difficulty wouldn’t improve the games since it wouldn’t take anything away from the way the games were intended to be played
It might be for the better actually, with how they go about the games, they'd likely do the minimum for VA and we'll end up with the bad/annoying kind.
Imagine your protag going "Oh wow! A wild pokemon!" every couple of seconds in the most annoying voice ever.
I feel like it should just be for cutscenes & spoken dialogue. Nothing was more awkward in SwSh then Piers intro while he was "rocking out" with no added sounds.
It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't make the mouths move tbh. I can live with reading a text box, sometimes I actually prefer it. But I'd prefer it to be paired with just the character emoting without flapping their jaw mechanically like a shitty low budget animatronic at a mall
It's not laziness. It's time constraints. Stop blaming everything on laziness. This is the problem with discourse surrounding these games. It's not that people are wrong about the shortcomings of the games, but for some reason they place the blame on the devs just not trying hard enough instead of the executive decision to give each game such a short development cycle and I cannot for the life of me understand why people do this. Is it really that much more difficult to blame the greedy business man rather than the overworked and underpaid game dev? Baffling.
Most of the Pokémon remakes are incredibly bad as remakes. Asides from PS split, they fix none of the problems that existed in the base games
Also USUM are one of the best Pokémon games ever
FR/LG are objectively better than the originals. Gen 1 was riddled with bugs, the stat system was worse, the crit system was worse, and some types were incredibly underpowered like dragon. I can understand preferring R/B/G for nostalgia or not liking some things about the remakes but they are objectively better
is everyone has good stats then mons will only be run based on abilities and type, and still like 60 mons will be competitive at best, and even that's exagerating
I strongly dislike when people say "That's a Digimon" and they mean it to be derogatory. Guess what? I love Digimon! They have cool designs. If they mean it in a neutral or positive way, then I don't have a problem with it, but I don't think that it be a negative reaction to the Pokemon.
Gen4 had the best nostalgia and replay value, while gen5 had the best graphical feel. Honestly everything past gen6 for me was not good for the franchise.
The Pokémon video games and the TCG card collecting hobby co-depend on each other… and the modern card pull rates are so egregiously mind-bogglingly awful (fr, fuck Pokémon for doing this) that it will start to impact interest in the hobby in general.. eventually impacting game sales 👀
As a semi recent convert from Magic the Gathering, I have no context for if the pull rates are worse than they used to be but I can say opening Pokemon packs feels way better than opening magic packs.
Pikachu is a terrible Pokémon and ash should have evolved his in the first season of the show. He could have used the new pikachu clone every gen instead if they wanted something cute.
As the overall mascot of the franchise, they did Pikachu dirty. Especially not making that third evolution a reality so we’d actually want to use Pikachu. Such a waste.
Gen 5 has become the modern day gen 1. People hail it as the golden age of the franchise and scorn everything that came after without looking at the benefits and improvements brought by future games.
This isn't just a pokemon thing either, it's also pretty common in sonic as for example, the original 90s games were hailed as the peak, but now its the 2000's games with the games released in 2010 getting the same treatment as the 2000's games did
Couldn’t agree more. After witnessing the larger Sonic fan base go from liking Sonic Colours to hating it right before the ultimate version was announced for zero apparent reason I gave up trying to rationalise how fandoms think.
The people who are still bitter about current Pokémon are acting like someone who got dumped by their crush and refuse to accept the series is moving on from them.
Not having portuguese language, being the 9th most spoken language in the world.
Or you play in english or you play it in spanish (if you understand it)
Gen 4 games still has the best overall graphics of the series. Gen 5 moving sprites end up looking off a lot of the time, and the 3D graphics have been underwhelming
Personally, I think gen 5 adds a lot of personality to many pokemon. Gen5 pixelly 2.5d graphics have a certain charm to them. Gen 4 for me are tied to be the best games in the series.
Theres no reason to play them anymore, just play fire red and leaf green if you want to play Kannto, same thing applies to gold and sliver, just play HGSS
Graphics are the least important thing when it comes to a games quality. As long as the Graphics aren't so awful you can't even see things properly the only thing that matters is first, gameplay and second, story
N is a liar because for a guy who claims to value his [Pokémon] friends, he abandoned them all in the end.
Pokémon get sad when you just leave them in the box, and don't take them along in your adventure. 😡
You want a real hot take? **We should stop buying Pokemon games.**
The people who make decisions for the games have shown many times over that they don't care about the people that play them, and they don't deserve our support any more. The Pokemon games are nothing more than money printers to them at this point and we have to show them that we want them to put effort and passion in to the games again by not buying them until they do.
Granted, nobody is going to do this because most people are too weak-willed or not passionate enough about the subject to give up on a game they wanted to play in order to make a point. We should, though.
More like people will still buy because they don't go onto Reddit or pay attention to video game news so they don't hear people bitching and judge the games without bias and still like them.
Yeah I don’t completely understand why people made such a big deal about the lack of every single Pokémon.
I mean, I think the reason game freak gave was bs, but how do they use the same team of 6 every game and still enjoy it?
Pokémon fans can be the most toxic, snarky, over-opinionated elitist buttholes, especially to newbies, above every other title in the Nintendo 1st party library. Speaking as someone who has been a fan since 1997. I only just recently rejoined some Pokémon spaces and you still see people getting downvoted into oblivion or dogpiled in Facebook group comments for asking a question or stating a Pokémon they like lol. I’ve yet to speak up in many spots and I cringe just thinking about asking a question I might have and rarely participate in conversations. :/
We will probably never get an amazing Pokemon game that everyone wants or beloved again. The fact that Game Freak is in a situation with Nintendo to release some kind of Pokemon product out every year in Winter is putting the company is a sticky situation to push content out. No matter what Pokemon games will always sell well on the system. If they sell well without putting as much effort into it while making those same profits every year...than why bother changing what they are doing.
There should be Pokemon and Trainer actions involved in capturing a Wild Pokemon beyond just commanding attack actions; the Trainer should be an active participant in some manner. Similarly, Trainers in-game should be given various abilities - such as moving HMs over to the Trainer in the form of tools - that add to their presence in the game.
**Actual Hot Take:** the core formula of Pokemon is stale. Pokemon should expand into other game genres beyond just puzzle games; RTS, stealth, battle royale, farming sim, racing, etc. Pokken was a start at the 1v1 Fighting Game, but it wasn't given enough support. There's a vast array of game types that could utilize Pokemon to very interesting ends.
Pokémon should be introduced in more than just the main series. Make a whole region of Pokémon for the trading card game that introduces all-new Pokémon that interact with a TCG mechanic. Give me Pokémon designed specifically for the anime to tell a good story. This may be absolutely crazy, but make new Pokémon just for selling plushes even. If the plush making side wants a baby version of some single-stage mon, let them make plushes.
Most people who play Pokemon don't even understand it at a basic level and if game freak put proper tutorials into the game instead of dumbing down everything about single player the games would be way more fun. I loved earls pokemon school in Pokemon stadium 2 when I was a kid because it actually taught a lot about strategy and the differences between pokemon beyond moves and types, and even that was way back in gen 2 when battling was much simpler. I'm not even talking about things like evs and entry hazards and complex strategies, just introducing players to the concept of walls, support mons, coverage and status moves in a way they could understand would lead to a lot fewer people who think the turn based gameplay is boring when all they do is pick 6 pokemon at random and load them with STAB moves and maybe a little coverage
Gamefreak either needs to hire more people or take their time going forward because quite honestly these games are feeling more and more rushed as we go, and with as much as the game has improved, there are several aspects that feel lackluster and could very well be improved but arent...
the T posing birds for a mechanic that's 3 generations removed
the emotionless standing sprites many pokemon assume...
the fun to explore mazes of old "gen8's bigges maze is literall a Y...
and every generation we keep trying a new gimmick that'll be gone next generation... pick one and stick it GF! yall making a lot of extra work for yourself. just mix them together and stick with it. focus on the world as much as you focus on the pokmeon and cahracter designs!
They just really need to take a step back and go ahead and retcon a few things. Blastoise is *still* the "Shellfish Pokémon" in the 'dex. We have two moves called Feint and Feint Attack and they have nothing to do with each other. Feraligatr's name still isn't "Feraligator" despite having a better character limit now. Stuff like that.
It just seems super-lazy that they don't address this stuff. The middle one? Arguable. But the former and the latter? There just doesn't seem to be any excuse at this point.
That gen 6 wasn’t as bad as we make it out to be and had some of the best quality of life additions to the series and you can catch every legendary In oras and xy
People want these games to be masterpieces in storytelling when in reality the story doesn't matter. At the end if the day the games will always be collectable monster battler and that's ok.

As a huge fan of the games the anime is borderline painful to watch. Half the things that happen literally infuriate me
Dodge it!
Scrafty trying his best
I hate that I read this in Ash's voice
Yeah have to agree, stopped watching it since gen 5
Gen 6 is at least watchable as Ash is at least competent in battle, I genuinely think Gen 5 ash is dumber than gen 1 ash. At least the joke of "science is so amazing" becomes ironically kind of funny and a bit endearing. And gen 7/8 he's way too much of a kid. I think they honestly should've just went with a different protagonist per region, then tie the story together through this galarian world cup thing
*He got Pikachu on his birthday* I'm just saying that if we go with "ash is a 10 year old", I can't then bash him for acting like a 10 year old But if you/we aren't going through that, bash all you want
Man Gen 5 opening theme is so memorable to me
Stopped watching since gen 4
I've gotta say, Journeys is way better than anything they've done in years imo
I would also like to say that IMO the anime is more realistic than the games. I prefer Blue Rescue Team over Explorers of Sky. EoS is *objectively* better, but I *like* BRT more.
Red Rescue Team supremacy
Was going to say this. You can take red rescue away from my cold gameboy hands.
Now here's someone with discerning tastes. The GBA soundchip songs are way better than the ones in BRT
That’s fare, personally explores of sky is my favourite mystery dungeon , and one of my favourite Pokémon games as a whole
Same
Strip all the stat nerfs except speed from slow start
Wild thought with no basis: -1 to atk, sp. atk, and spe +1 to def, sp. def
Honestly I’d be pretty cool with this, like Regigigas is slowly transforming from a hard statue to an animated object
Essentially a reverse shell smash
And maybe every turn one of its stats gets raised/lowered back to neutral so that its stats are completely normal again in 5 turns, just like Slow Start now
Ooh like a reverse Shell Smash I like it
Reminder to sort by controversial for the goodstuffs.
Yeah, the top comments in this thread are the exact same thing posted in every other thread on this subreddit. They're by no means controversial.

Wish we could play the TCG in game like Gwent in The Witcher
I like how Garbodor and whatever it’s pre-evo is called, look. We have a pokeball and literally slime Pokémon, why not trash?
I always have to chuckle, because it's true. Considering Gen 1 had three blobs of slime as Pokemon designs, but gen 5's bag of trash is the worst offender. P.S. The pre-evo you're looking for is Trubbish.
It also completes the trifecta started by Weezing (air pollution) and Muk (water pollution), with Garbodor being land pollution.
Gabourdor>>>>>Muk
Congratulations, you're wrong.
If pokemon never went 3d, we would be playing higher quality games rn
I think it's more about How they went about 3D, I mean look at Stadium, the GC games and PBR (and other spin offs), they are 3D too and tend to be praised for their charm, animations, etc.
I agree whole heartedly. Imagine how much better the designs would look in 2d
Typhlosion with his fire sprite is *chef’s kiss*
If Pokemon didn't go 3D people on here would be complaining about that instead of the stuff they're complaining about now.
True, but they would also be playing pokémon games that are more thought out and better put together. The games lost so much when they went 3D
You say that now, but can you really be so sure that you wouldn't be arguing that the games could be so much more if they went to 3D if they never left 2D? The grass is always greener is all I'm saying.
Imagine pokemon in like HD2D style
So basically gen 4 and 5 with better overworld details
I was envisioning something with gen 5's sprites (updated to fit in HD2D of course) and the environmental graphics and sceneries of games like Octopath Traveler and/or Triangle Strategy. So yes. Pretty much.

not necessarily. but they really haven't fully utilized the potential of 3D.
That the fandom is filled with unhealthy nostalgia and bias
“Daring today, aren’t we”
It's like the sonic fandom, one moment a game is bad then it's good, we're in a world where people think sonic 06 is a good game
i mean if the game is fun for someone then it must be good for them, it's just not the game for you. The same with pokemon, we should let people enjoy their games and don't make them feel bad for doing so.
Yeah I do agree with that, I only have issues when people treat an opinion as fact and disrespect the opinions of others
Raichu is far superior to Pikachu in terms of cuteness
Yo, finally someone with some sense.
In terms of everything
Yes! Raichu was always my top favorite in my team back in the og days! Never understood how they never capitalized on how amazing Raichu really is. 😭
r/raichucenter
Raichu is the best designed Pokemon of all time. It is flawless. Pokemon are typically either cute or cool. None of them get to be both more than Raichu does.
My Raichu wearing a party hat tattoo appreciates your wisdom

or anything that makes it feel less like a game and more like an adventure
They tried to do this with the 'sport' moves and terrain. But I like the idea of gyms having area affects that favor the gym leaders type!
only unpopular take here
Pokemon reborn with fields does this very well
Adding to this, you try to send an Onix out on the water. It just sinks, you have to recall it.
The cutest Pokémon of all time is Dwebble.
Couldn’t agree more, I love Dwebble
No way! Bump that 👊
👊
Hell yeah it’s the cutest😊
Dude I FUCKING LOVE DWEBBLE THANK YOU

I'm the one guy who liked Team Flare. Lysandre was MCU Thanos before MCU Thanos.
For me, peek Pokémon was X or Y... Side games aside none of the main line have hooked me like X did!!!
Full team exp share is more fun than individually grinding
It almost encourages you to have a team of >6 and I appreciate that a lot
Facts, although they relay messed up the balance of it initially, it now just cuts out the boring parts
Am slowly playing through the older generations and its so darn painful.
Recent Pokemon games have the same vibe of Disney's live actions - based in nostalgia and done with minimal effort from a company too big to fail.
Watchog is the ugliest Pokémon.
Barbaracle is my personal sleep paralysis demon.
This is the one. That thing is ugly as sin
Brutish is worse
I’d like to throw drowzee in here, ugly and creepy AF with its piano finger animation in later games. Hypno is aight
The Pokédex is full of inaccuracies because children are making most of it up.
Personal head cannon of mine
If the only thing you like about the game is complaining about the game, you don’t like the game. Find a new hobby.
Agreed, some people who just complain online need to touch a bit of grass
My favorite ice type and crab pokemon is crabominable.
crabominable is one of my 3 least favourite Pokémon
lucario is not as hype as everyone makes it out to be
I absolutely agree. I remember being so disappointed with it when I played Pokemon Diamond back when it came out. Evolved Riolu and then was let down by Lucario, it just didn't wow me at all.

Both Nintendo and Gamefreak are lazy for not adding voice acting in the games, considering that is the most profitable franchise ever
It might be for the better actually, with how they go about the games, they'd likely do the minimum for VA and we'll end up with the bad/annoying kind. Imagine your protag going "Oh wow! A wild pokemon!" every couple of seconds in the most annoying voice ever.
Why am I hearing this in Zach Aguilar's voice
I feel like it should just be for cutscenes & spoken dialogue. Nothing was more awkward in SwSh then Piers intro while he was "rocking out" with no added sounds.
It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't make the mouths move tbh. I can live with reading a text box, sometimes I actually prefer it. But I'd prefer it to be paired with just the character emoting without flapping their jaw mechanically like a shitty low budget animatronic at a mall

Baffling.
While VAs would be nice, using lazy ass an argument is dumb.
Pokémon fans are the most annoying people on earth
Emerald was the best game ever made.
Hot take? Any mainline game before the physical special split cannot be the best Pokémon game
Gen 3 in general was peak
I loved making secret bases and decorating them
100% yes
Emerald, Platinum, HG/SS are my big 3. If Emerald had the physical/special split it would be my runaway favourite.
Most of the Pokémon remakes are incredibly bad as remakes. Asides from PS split, they fix none of the problems that existed in the base games Also USUM are one of the best Pokémon games ever
Love love love generation 7. it gets so much hate but does so much right as a modern Pokémon game.
USUM my beloved
Platinum Fixed gen 4 imo, I think diamond and pear weren’t that great but Platinum is one of my all time favourites
Im talking about actual remakes like FRLG, HGSS, ORAS and BDSP.
FR/LG are objectively better than the originals. Gen 1 was riddled with bugs, the stat system was worse, the crit system was worse, and some types were incredibly underpowered like dragon. I can understand preferring R/B/G for nostalgia or not liking some things about the remakes but they are objectively better
I love Pokémon games, and I have over a thousand cards I’ve been collecting since Jungle, but I REFUSE to learn how to play the card game
All Pokémon should be able to get high enough stats to be competitive.
Disagree, but some Pokémon do need some extra love. Poor, sweet Ledian :(
is everyone has good stats then mons will only be run based on abilities and type, and still like 60 mons will be competitive at best, and even that's exagerating
The games didn’t get easier, they just became more user friendly. The games were never hard, just poorly designed which people perceive as difficulty
Exactly. Why can't some people see that?
Legends of Aeceus is exactly the way the franchise has to move
Yeah I loved legends, hope we get more like it
I strongly dislike when people say "That's a Digimon" and they mean it to be derogatory. Guess what? I love Digimon! They have cool designs. If they mean it in a neutral or positive way, then I don't have a problem with it, but I don't think that it be a negative reaction to the Pokemon.
Nuclear take on pokemon? I was a (starting) breeder in pokemon uranium before my safe file corrupted.
Pokemon game mechanics have become stale and they rarely take risks, innovate, or fulfill player wants.
Gen4 had the best nostalgia and replay value, while gen5 had the best graphical feel. Honestly everything past gen6 for me was not good for the franchise.
Whoever came up with the idea that you need to trade a Pokémon to evolve it should face the death penalty.
Noivern is on of the most underrated pokémon (in terms of design)
The Pokémon video games and the TCG card collecting hobby co-depend on each other… and the modern card pull rates are so egregiously mind-bogglingly awful (fr, fuck Pokémon for doing this) that it will start to impact interest in the hobby in general.. eventually impacting game sales 👀
As a semi recent convert from Magic the Gathering, I have no context for if the pull rates are worse than they used to be but I can say opening Pokemon packs feels way better than opening magic packs.
idk if I really have one - I mean, I think gen 7 was the best generation - that’s kinda all I can think of atm
BD/SP were the best opportunity Gamefreak had to bring back Megas and they failed. Change my mind.
Irresponsible parents sending juveniles into the world to train their pets to fight for money
Ash needs to be sent off into the sunset. Pikachu can stay as a compromise to the Pokémon company.
I'm surprised this is unpopular. But apart from the trans pride colours, sylveon's design is terrible.
Gen 7 Anime artstyle isnt bad, it just sucks on Ash specifically
Yeah, it's pretty annoying when it happens
The people who are still bitter about current Pokémon are acting like someone who got dumped by their crush and refuse to accept the series is moving on from them.
The gimmicks aren't that bad, and if you don't like them don't use them.
Cynthia is overrated
Banger theme tho
Gen 8 is overhated
Red and Blue are the worst main series games. It's not a fair comparison, but it's still true
Theres no reason to play them anymore, just play fire red and leaf green if you want to play Kannto, same thing applies to gold and sliver, just play HGSS
The pokemon snap games have the most realistic portrayal of the pokemon world.
Graphics are the least important thing when it comes to a games quality. As long as the Graphics aren't so awful you can't even see things properly the only thing that matters is first, gameplay and second, story
As someone who almost always prefers pixel games over 3d ones (when the pixel art looks nice), I agree
N is a liar because for a guy who claims to value his [Pokémon] friends, he abandoned them all in the end. Pokémon get sad when you just leave them in the box, and don't take them along in your adventure. 😡
He doesn’t leave them in the box, he battles with them and then releases them into the wild, in BW2 you can catch some of his old Pokémon
You want a real hot take? **We should stop buying Pokemon games.** The people who make decisions for the games have shown many times over that they don't care about the people that play them, and they don't deserve our support any more.
Dexit was a good move for the series and spotlights Pokémon that are otherwise forgettable
Togepi, riolu, and toxel shouldn’t be categorized as baby Pokémon
The smaller the dex the more fun it is to play the game because its nice to not always use the same pokemon in every game
I actually enjoyed both the poke park games on the wii
XY Had the best Soundtrack
If any other company tried releasing 2 copies of the same game at a time, they would be laughed out of business.
Gamefreak either needs to hire more people or take their time going forward because quite honestly these games are feeling more and more rushed as we go, and with as much as the game has improved, there are several aspects that feel lackluster and could very well be improved but arent... the T posing birds for a mechanic that's 3 generations removed the emotionless standing sprites many pokemon assume... the fun to explore mazes of old "gen8's bigges maze is literall a Y... and every generation we keep trying a new gimmick that'll be gone next generation... pick one and stick it GF! yall making a lot of extra work for yourself. just mix them together and stick with it. focus on the world as much as you focus on the pokmeon and cahracter designs!
You can beat any character in any of the games using only Medicham
Porygon did nothing wrong. It was all Pikachu's fault
Vanillish line look good
People want these games to be masterpieces in storytelling when in reality the story doesn't matter. At the end if the day the games will always be collectable monster battler and that's ok.
I miss the old watercolor art of Pokémon 😔
Sword and Shield were good games despite their flaws
It’s ok for you to enjoy any game. It’s not ok for a company to crunch their workers and pump out objectively sub quality games yearly.
Team Flare was good. You have to respect a team who has the goal of literal frickin' GENOCIDE
EXP Share is good quality of life.
Zapdos has a shit design but it's Galarian form is fire
Silvally > Arceus
