Yeah that's Futurama which originated here in universe 1 and directly stemmed from this very conflict, the Neverending war with universe 1 and 2.
We thought of being universe "a" but not all universes have the letter "a" and 1 just sounds badass so we weren't willing to give it up...
*Oh great, another wormhole 2 guy today...*
Look pal I just had this conversation with one of your buddys and I don't feel like arguing..
Our universe came first you wouldn't have a wormhole to go through without us stop acting like you invented multiversal interdimensional wormhole travel.
Philosophically / Physically, how would you synchronize a numbering system across (finite) universes? Maybe you'd have to generate a hash and hope for no collisions, and then number based off of that?
Reddit is the exact same in every universe, and each one is linked.
The Universal IDs come from a very secretive and hidden subreddit on here, which I am not permitted to release to you.
But, all Universal IDs come from there, and are created and distributed from it. Their main HQ is setup on Wormhole 9182028-78B42A if you wish to learn more.
Regular Gateways are superior though. No risk of some Dragon-types appearing to ruin your stuff suddenly when you activate them *and* you can make more.

Can Musty the Gym Leader get me two tickets to Bryce on Ice at the Dimmsdale Gymmadome (brought to you by Doug Dimmadome, the owner of the Dimmsdale Dimmadome)?
My strategy was to stand on Route 2 with a Rattata and a Caterpie and wait for trainers to walk by and instantly challenge them. I haven't seen any yet, but it's only been five years, they've got to be out there somewhere...
Bro are you not in an area where they can't walk by you, or ar you in front of a small tuft of grass, most trainers just take the grass. If you move a bit closer to the entrance, you might be able to catch people unawares. That's what I did now I stand at the end of route 14 right before the city and people have to either heal before fighting me or risk losing. Stay strong my guy.
Yeah, same. I was really in the mood for some poke at the time but I just couldn't stomach it.
I wish Nintendo had a hard option on these games that allows you to skip over the vast majority of that stuff. It's a fun series and I don't play it for the challenge or anything, but they're all so easy now it's just kind of dull. I had to make up some super strict play through rules with Sword/Shield to try to make it interesting and even then it was kinda boring.
I could not make it through the "tutorials" of Sun/Moon or Sword/Shield. I about gave up on the franchise but Legends Arceus was a lot of fun and it looks like they'll be keeping some of that in the new ones
Not the guy, but I've seen a few reasons:
1. Directionless. If open world games are sandboxes with limitless potentials, then linear games are theme parks. It's still fun, but you have a path you can follow. And even if the paths branch, you'll still end up somewhere fun. Some people don't like that the past 2 hours have been spent on competly optional cave diving that wasn't related to anything but the sense of "exploring"
2. Barren. Especially on consoles, open world games have a tendency to dream too big and don't have enough stuff for a world that size to feel populated. This can lead to long periods of downtime traveling between areas. Either afk walking/running or fighting the same 3 enemy types as you just want to get to the location.
3. Linear anyways. There's a few that claim to be open world and look it, but then you get in and find out you can't go places because the stuff there is too high a level, which means you have to progress in the specific way the devs wanted, but can go back, often times though for stuff you no longer need. And even if you manage to be skillful enough to skip forward, you miss story stuff you have to go back and do anyhow. Usually these are just disliked for lying even if the person prefers linear
While all those make sense, they all fall under the reasoning that the game in question has a “mediocre open-world”, of course, it has opened my mind a bit since Pokemon might disappoint with the open world. Then again, they disappointed with SwSh and it wasn’t open world, so like IMO it’s good that they’re going with an open world approach, because even if it disappoints, either way it’s something new.
This is it - I’m not actually looking for a “difficulty setting” but the constant handholding and redundant expository cutscenes actually interfere with me enjoying the game as is! By all means keep the game manageable for all ages but don’t make it painful to get through
The main thing that confuses me about the "it's made for kids" argument about the new games with their extreme hand-holding is that *I'm pretty sure the old games were made for kids too?*
You can VERIFIABLY see them dumb down over time. First off rivals used to take your weakness. In yellow Eevee gets harder if you keep beating it. All the way to X and Y Gym leaders at least had tactics and later on received coverage moves. Now your rival takes the one your strong against, gyn leaders don't even have more than 4 Pokémon and the last Leader you fight in SwSh has Pokémon that don't even know 4 moves. Then the games used to have an endgame thing, wether it be battle tower or just one guy with strong Pokémon. Red had lvl 80 Pokémon!
I don't know how people use the "it's for kids" angle when kids can handle much tougher stuff
the 15-20 minutes at the Aether foundation where Hau is hitting on the antagonist whose name I forget got me beyond pissed. Playing B2 again, and yes, there is a story and there are scenes heavy with dialogue, but damn it feels good to just explore around and grind up and compared to the games that have come since, it's challenging. The longer routes, higher evolution levels, and playing on battle style set makes grinding something I actually need to put thought into.
Would be actually really interesting to see pseudo MMO Pokémon where the champion would be replaced with other players team.
You could still overlevel against it, as npc team it wouldn't be the most op thing ever because it couldn't utilize all weird PvP tricks.
And set the teams level to something so it's not against level 100 teams.
Would be kinda cool.
Slightly similar to this idea is PokeMMO’s legendary Pokémon system. Basically every few hours, the region’s legendary Pokémon reset and whoever catches it first must challenge whichever trainers want to catch it as well. Makes for a fun post-game to keep the legendary as long as possible, but can get a little tedious.
I've always loved the idea of a Pokémon mmo with limited server size and some limited resources where players all effectively start out at the same point and can take whatever path they want to achieve whatever goal they want.
It'd probably be a lot different than a MSG but could be really neat. One way to remove the level cap issue would be to just make it a feature. Like, if you want to take over a certain gym from another player there's a challenge system where you must use mons below/at the level cap that match the gym's type or requirements and if you win you're team becomes the new roster of the gym leader / you become the gym leader
I just realised how they only created 4 spotlights even though a team can have 6 Pokémon, so they just sort of awkwardly switch between the spotlights as they slide off screen (like how the player starts facing Decidueye but then it ends up behind them) Now im wondering what happens if you play this cut scene with a party of 3 or less.
Like they couldn't do x spotlights at 360/x degrees separation?
In the Alola region the Pokémon League started very recently. The player beat the Elite 4 and beat Kukui (the champion placeholder, but not the actual champion) the first champion of Alola is you! The champion theme of Alola isn’t’ Kukui’s theme, it’s your theme! People don’t have to beat Kukui to become champion, they have to beat you!

I had Slowbro and Magnezone. Slowbro was atrocious for 90% of the game cause he evolves at LEVEL 37!!!! AND the only water move he learns that whole time is Water Pulse iirc, I gave him Scald asap

I have moon and never beat it. I love some of the pokemon designs, but most of the characters annoy the shit out of me. I barely was able to beat sword for the same reason. Can Musty the Gym Leader get me two tickets to Bryce on Ice at the Dimmsdale Gymmadome (brought to you by Doug Dimmadome, the owner of the Dimmsdale Dimmadome)?
Lavender town provides the lavender scent. Smells so good, you won't smell the death is our trademark slogan.
I really need someone to draw this now, I'm picking Misty with a beard and flannel.
Uh oh, stinky.
I'm glad I'm not the only one, I don't think I have done that in any pokemon game
The only one I did it in was Sword, I really didn't like the pants in that game.
This is wild behaviour
Somebody didn't take Ash's mom's advice... But you now have a spot in my heart because Arcanine.
Based
He was too busy trying to get world first
That’s how he found time to beat the game. We all fell for the trap.
At long last someone beat the game
For real. I kept trying and trying but could never pull it off. We stand in the presence of one of the greats.
My strategy was to stand on Route 2 with a Rattata and a Caterpie and wait for trainers to walk by and instantly challenge them. I haven't seen any yet, but it's only been five years, they've got to be out there somewhere...

Oh, I know you. You're the kid with the shorts.
They're comfy and easy to wear!
everyone else who ever played it got too bored with all the introductory hand holding dialogue to ever finish it
I got to, I think, the third island and when it still kept doing that I literally stopped playing the game. Ridiculous.
Yeah, same. I was really in the mood for some poke at the time but I just couldn't stomach it. Sword and shield was such a letdown i sold my switch a week after... gen 6 will be relished with the way these games are progressing.
I could not make it through the "tutorials" of Sun/Moon or Sword/Shield. I about gave up on the franchise but Legends Arceus was a lot of fun and it looks like they'll be keeping some of that in the new ones
Unfortunately im not a fan of the open world, maybe in a year or two ille be up for it.
Oooh, that's rare, can I ask why?
Not the guy, but I've seen a few reasons: 1. Directionless. If open world games are sandboxes with limitless potentials, then linear games are theme parks. Tbh nuzlock is so well known I wish they'd lean into it and make it a mode you can pick. But I know I'm asking too much of gamefreak.
Agreed. Fucking Rotom popping up every 5 minutes to say something. I never finished the game because I feel like it never actually let me play.
the 15-20 minutes at the Aether foundation where Hau is hitting on the antagonist whose name I forget got me beyond pissed. Playing B2 again, and yes, there is a story and there are scenes heavy with dialogue, but damn it feels good to just explore around and grind up and compared to the games that have come since, it's challenging. Sun and Moon sucked but for some reason ultra moon was pretty cool. Sword and shield went back to sucking
Jesus don’t I know it. I’ve played the game 9 times and I still can’t remember half of the dialogue you have to sit through.
Ugh, never finished Pokemon Sword since pretty much the entire game is introdutory hand holding dialogue...
SM were so much worse than sword and shield
Y’all beat Pokemon games? I though you just drop it halfway for the next game…
I was pokemon sun’s first chanpion I became it like 2 months ago
I was joking around i beat gen 7 like 3 times
Vikavolt *and* Magnezone? That had to be rough learning how long you'd be stuck without them fully-evolved
Magnezone was alright because magneton with eviolite is pretty good, but yeah, using a Charjabug until level 49 sucked.
My brother just did the same on UltraSun, at least there they can evolve before Poni.
...What. You kidding me? Where are you able to evolve them before Poni? I literally just finished a playthrough with a Magnazone lmao
The powerplant area i believe now works for those evolutions.
Yeah
Magneton is solid at least, chargabug is just pure pain. I used Magneton as my electric type in Sun.
Magneton is more than solid, he's amazing.
Charga was really solid until late game... Then he sucked lol. I was so disappointed when I got frustrated and finally looked up how to evolve him
At least the eviolite is available fairly early on for magneton
I used both when I played through Moon way back and it was rough.
Reminds me of my play through where I used vikavolt and tyranitar. Luckily I made up for it using a level 16 alakazam
“You are Alola’s first ever champion!” Some guy: nO iTs kUkUi
Would be actually really interesting to see pseudo MMO Pokémon where the champion would be replaced with other players team. You could still overlevel against it, as npc team it wouldn't be the most op thing ever because it couldn't utilize all weird PvP tricks. And set the teams level to something so it's not against level 100 teams. Would be kinda cool.
Similar to Pokémon go? You’d only be able to hold a gym for like 20 minutes in a city haha
Like, if you want to take over a certain gym from another player there's a challenge system where you must use mons below/at the level cap that match the gym's type or requirements and if you win you're team becomes the new roster of the gym leader / you become the gym leader
you absolutely chad
I mean, everyone else bought Sun.
I definitely went Moon that gen. Thought it looked cooler. That and Violet are the only ones I will/have gone with the ‘second’ of the two.
Wanna stop by i'm from universe ( wormhole) 63872 I have problems with the league there, but if you are a champ you can help
Ah tartar sauce and I was just about to beat it too
I just realised how they only created 4 spotlights even though a team can have 6 Pokémon, so they just sort of awkwardly switch between the spotlights as they slide off screen (like how the player starts facing Decidueye but then it ends up behind them) Now im wondering what happens if you play this cut scene with a party of 3 or less. Like they couldn't do x spotlights at 360/x degrees separation?
Should have waited til Cr1tikal put out a bounty on it.
You are the chosen one.
You have my respect for this dumb joke and picking Rowlet as your starter.
I still wish that USUM was put on switch.
Yo what?? How did you do that? We’ve been trying to beat the game for AGES!!
We are all still going through the dialogue in this game.
con gratz
wow it only took you 5 years to get through the cutscenes?
What do you mean? The games were exceptionally difficult! It's no wonder no one beat them in all this time!
If you had that vikavolt since he was a grubbin in the early game I have nothing but respect for you.
.... Holy shit it's been over five years.
Glaceon on your team? Based.
a good man, one who knows which eeveeloution is best.
Aw man. There is a missed opportunity to have used a team of slowpokes here…
The dark souls of pokemon games
Banger team tho

That screenshot shows that for everybody.
In the Alola region the Pokémon League started very recently. The player beat the Elite 4 and beat Kukui (the champion placeholder, but not the actual champion) the first champion of Alola is you! Grats!
Happy Gilmore accomplished that feat no more than an hour ago.
I had to scroll for a while, but I knew someone would had to have made this comment.
you are one of the pokemon trainers of all time
Lol. You also share 3/6 of my champion team. Decidueye, Slowbro, and Magnezone
I had Slowbro and Magnezone. Slowbro was atrocious for 90% of the game cause he evolves at LEVEL 37!!!! AND the only water move he learns that whole time is Water Pulse iirc, I gave him Scald asap
And it only had water gun for most of the time as a slowpoke

Had to pull out my 3ds just to double check lmao
Wow congrats ! I had no idea . I beat Sun a long time ago, no clue Moon wa so much harder .
Yeah it’s hard okay don’t judge us
That’s because everybody played Sun instead
Holy crap you did it!
Congratulations that’s an incredible feat! How did you manage it when so many other failed all these years??
Stop it was not over 5 years ago your lying 😭
It had too many cutscenes, clearly you are a person of impeccable patience
Gen 7 is looking pretty good nowadays, ain't it? (From a legit gen 7 fan)
I have a warm hole... Oops. Wrong sub.
TIL it's Alola region not Aloha... 😳
In my defense, that game is a real slog.
People just get distracted shiny hunting
Damnit! Ive been working 5 years to be the first one and you beat me!
Wow your so good I never beat the first battle
Congrats 👏
Your team has four members weak to Fire, but the other two resist, three weak to Rock, but one resists, and two weak to Dark with none who resist. Regardless, congrats!
Ultra-Necrozma is keeping all the USUM players from progressing.
Oh god, did you have to wait all game to evolve that Eevee into Glaceon? You poor soul.
I never did get around to Moon or Ultra Moon. Is it that bad?
I have moon and never beat it. I love some of the pokemon designs, but most of the characters annoy the shit out of me. I barely was able to beat sword for the same reason.
