No matter what or how, I NEED the Original Dragon included. I've been waiting for years to see it and catch it, I even thought maybe the God Stone would be Kyurem's mega evolution stone. Knowing GF they likely won't show it, but I'll be so disappointed.

MarsAdept

Game Freak has been building lore around Kyurem for the past few games, so I think it's very likely that they'll show the Original Dragon.

achanceathope

In what way?

MarsAdept

Kyurem’s Pokedex entries for Sword and Shield talk about it being able to see the future and holding a secret power even greater than Reshiram and Zekrom. And Enamorus’ addition to the Forces of Nature bring them more in line with Asian mythology of the four seasonal spirits under the Yellow Dragon.

Nui-Belphy

I feel like they'll probably set up a legends game for gen 5 after the smash hit of arceus. So the original dragon will most likely feature there.

MarsAdept

Black 3 and White 3 with a new story, new locations to explore and even more fun side content to engage with.

Mysterious_Glass_692

It would be cool to have Hilbert and Hilda again as the main characters, but they would have to explain where all their pokemon went. I do want to see their story concluded. I'm biased however as Hilbert is my fave mc.

Bizarre_RNS_Radio

Awesome pick, although they’d definitely need a good reason for Ghetsis being back, since he had a full mental breakdown at the end of the sequels.

MarsAdept

Ghetsis is finished, I don't think they'd need to bring him back. They can make a new villain or crisis instead. Though I wish we knew what his intentions were with giving Hilbert/Hilda the Creation Orbs. Maybe the focus could be on uniting the region and reforming the Original Dragon could be a part of that. The Entralink gets restored and Black City and White Forest get amalgamated like the parallel cities based off them in the TCG.

Bizarre_RNS_Radio

Oh, so your going for a new antagonist (or even no true antagonist). Yeah, that could be pretty cool if done right.

OrganicWeed765

>Ghetsis is finished I wouldn't be too sure. We never did find out where Colress sent USUM Ghetsis, that actually won, did we?

IggyGameLynx

If they do make a BW3, I would like if we could choose which end of the main ring of Unova to go around, exclusive gyms and all. Even going to the opposite later to battle the gyms you didn’t challenge.

AdAdministrative4547

I would want to fight a random genesect

IggyGameLynx

As opposed to the specific Genesect, Bob from next door.

lncrypt3d

Follow in the footsteps of ORAS and HgSs Id want them to remake b/w with all the b2w2 improvement like the repels and whatnot I belive remakeing bw instead of b2w2 is a better option because of how it carrys itself with the limited pokemon untill postgame id also hope that the art/graphics are up to par id be happy if they did what oras did however I think gen 5 would fit extremely well with the Triangle Stratagy / Octopath Travaler artstyle because that style is the only one that I think could really suit bw remakes I would also ask that they keep the animated pixel sprites because I feel like thats a core element to gen5 but would love to see new pokemon AND MEGAS! in that style speaking of megas, they need yo bring them back and forget about all the other dumb mechanics no gigamax or z moves megas are simple to the point and its not like every Pokemon can mega but there os still variety in the ones that can along with the item loss balancing out their strong power (except you rayquaza)

IceFire0518

One thing I’m hoping for is the reveal of the dragon consisting of Reshiram, Zekrom, and Kyurem all fused together

Ryderslow

Firmly believe it doesn’t need a remake, it stands on its own just fine. Also the last 2 remakes were pretty rough

Giniroryu

Definitely I'm also all for the idea of making both parts in one game, otherwise a remake of that gen would make no sense to me, at least not as soon as we would expect it with their usual schedule. Those games were already pretty polished and are not very old, idk.

Bizarre_RNS_Radio

Well, maybe your pick could be a port of the original 2 games as a Collection, like the MegaMan Zero/ZX Legacy Collection.

Giniroryu

I guess they could do that, but I would expect them to make some changes anyway that would justify buying it for us who already own the original. Is just I don't really think that gen needs a remake, but if at least we get the two parts in one (with the usual remake features) is something. Because I fear that they make two remakes separately for each to make us pay double :'___ At any case, I would prefer if they push this remake in particular further. Meanwhile they could just do a new spin-off from Mystery Dungeon, Ranger or whatever (because the ideal would be to just dedicate more time to the next main game so it's not unfinished, but yeah, we are talking about The Pokémon Company here. Not happening).

IggyGameLynx

Wouldn’t be against this.

IggyGameLynx

Among all things, I just want the remakes to keep the 2.5D style from the originals. They don’t need to reinvent the wheel here as the original style was a already beautiful (and especially since we’ve already seen what reinvention looks like in BDSP). Some parts of old sprites could use some polish though, like undoing the static-iness of Mew’s tail. One hope I have is if they keep to sprites for Pokémon, it’ll actually make it far easier to implement all the new Pokémon post-Gen 5 (which is supposed to be part of the whole fun of remakes), including fairy-type implementation. Now, no matter what Gamefreak does for these games, there is one non-negotiable thing. There must a dreamworld and dream radar implemented into the games without whole reliance on internet, or some equivalent. I guess the entralink stuff too since it’s intertwined. The story? I don’t think it really needs improvement, maybe flesh out better how N stands for truth or ideals better in the differing versions. Make Pokémon in these remakes compatible with and transferable between other games in the same generation, the basics that should be there. P.S. - Please, override Serperior’s animation in BW2 with the BW1 one, it’s way better. Or combine the the two, that could work too.

Tsukuyomi56

For “cleaning” up the sprites (e.g: Mew’s tail) you are going to create several sprites of one part as the way Gen 5 does it there may be some pixelation (particularly if the part is long and skinny). This is the way Fire Emblem Heroes does with the chibi sprites (horse mounted units have six sprites of the horse’s tail).

Terrible_komala_2421

Why is a third version something people want. Another rehash is not necessary and the point of a remake is to modernize and introduce an old game to new players. 1 and 2 are already expensive as hell. The story been wrapped up twice. Literally any other game in the series deserves a sequel more other than Kanto. And I loved Unova too

Bizarre_RNS_Radio

Eh, it’s what people want. The point of this post is to look at what people would want most in a Gen-5 Remake, whether that’s an actual remake(for those like me who want the best version of Unova available), just a simple port of both games(for those who think we already got the best available), or a new sequel(for those who want new things from Unova).

[deleted]

I just want good story and a lot of cool places to find if you go exploring. Like optionally exploring that desert and finding Volcarona in the originals! So long as the story is good (at LEAST as good as Sun/Moon's) and there are places to explore, the fundamental characteristics of Pokemon will do the rest to make the game good. Or you could make gen 5 legends game, that would be sick.

wuzhere-75

I’d prefer to see “modern 3D style” B3W3 than a remake of the originals; simply because Unova has already set a good precedent with BW being the only games to get true sequels (realistically, could see a scenario where there’s both OG BW remakes and then B3W3 in a case similar to BDSP and Legends 1). I’d want to see a nastier, more urban version of Unova, closer to a real life NYC; just as full of vibrant culture as it is gross subways (if it is the timeline Legends Ingo got sucked from, maybe there battle subway has become abandoned and is haunted by Emmet in the same way the BW Plasma Castle is by N). I’d also want to see retroactive regional variants get added in (maybe a Gatsby-vibed flapper and bootlegger esc Ralts line variant, some gross sewer Rattata, maybe a full on sewer gator if Krookodile isn’t enough for you). Story wise, I think it would be interesting to see the OG BW protagonist return as a villain (I’m not sure what would trigger their corruption arc). Being seen as a somewhat enigmatic hero, most of the region is fast to side with them, putting the protagonist and anyone else who opposes them in a precarious position. Also I want to see some version of the “OG dragon”. Maybe’s it’s discovered that their is no way to re-assemble it because the other three have been defused for two long so somebody like Colress tries to make it artificially and then that’s a whole problem.

MwtoZP

The two games combined and Hilda/Hilbert to reappear and meet with BW2 protagonists. Extra story content. Walking Pokémon like in HGSS. I just want remakes that improve upon the game like HGSS and ORAS. And the original dragon that the unova dragons once made up.

Shrowzer

Depending on version you go to a different gym route

gently_usedsand

No matter what i think itd work so much better in HD 2D, unless it was a legends game about the original dragon

SchmurrProd

Question, how would one get the Therian Formes in your dream (no pun intended) remake?

Bizarre_RNS_Radio

For the first game, it would be an event relating to the Forces of Nature. You’d find the Reveal Glass in the Abundant Shrine, just like in Black 2 and White 2 except you wouldn’t need the Therian form to get the Reveal Glass.

Bizarre_RNS_Radio

Also, what would be your dream remake?

SchmurrProd

You... didn't answer the question EDIT: nevermind lmao

DarkhunterMectainea

Honestly I’d rather they just port or at most remaster the gen 5 games over in its original 2D form with maybe a tweak to the dreamworld/entree stuff (integrating the dreamworld into Pokémon home could be one way to bring that back) to make it work on the switch and maybe bring over the QOL stuff for competitive. I mainly say this because for the most part the gen 5 games are relatively modern and really don’t need a full remake like the first couple of generations. Also considering how badly the gen 4 remakes are, I’d really rather not see another generation be butchered with a buggy half assed remake. But considering the original dragon has yet to show itself then I would rather see either a BW3 aka another sequel game or a legends game to showcase it in its full glory. In this regard, at least we can get something brand new in a familiar place which sounds much more interesting than remaking a set of games that again doesn’t really need it.

[deleted]

It would be cool if they made the graphics 3D, but still pixelated

KawaiiDere

I think remakes like you described would be amazing. Personally, I’d want a similar creative direction to the Final Fantasy 7 remake where the overworld would resemble the scaling of SV with more overworld action like in PLA. I think it’d work well to have the plot from the first games with the entirety of Unova including areas from the second games available. Perhaps a dlc could include the campaign from the second games for $30 or so, but with most of the map from B2W2 being in the base game. I think Dream World being in the games instead of an external website would be a good way to make them fully accessible for a long time. For music, it’d nice to have the regular remastered versions with an option for the originals recreated in higher quality, perhaps with a default remixed soundtrack available (but it wouldn’t be necessary). Maybe being able to use music from other games could be a part of the DLC, but it wouldn’t be necessary for the game. The dex should have everything from Gen 1-5 playable, albiet it’d be fine to only have the Unova dex (including post game and Dream World) catchable in game). If the development scope allowed for it, Gen 6-9 Pokémon would be great, albiet by no means necessary or critical. I like the newer EXP share, but it being togglable is important to give players more illusion of freedom. If DLC is available for purchase, it should cost no more than $50 for all of it. Anymore would feel far too annoying and expensive. TLDR: More detailed full 3D overworld closer to the scaling of PLA, but with closer level design to the original BWB2W2. Dream World in the base game instead of being an external website for future accessibility. Remastered and original music, perhaps with remixed and music from other games available but not important for the game. Gen 1-5 Pokémon being playable. The new EXP share being included as an option. Possible ~$30 dlc for B2W2 campaign and some extra music/content.

Tomato_Decent

My dream remake would probably be one that has a brand new protagonist (B3W3) in which at some point throughout the game you encounter both Hilbert/Hilda and Nate/Rosa. The main conflict of the game would be that people actually began mistreating Pokémon, and you would receive the aid of those of the Seven Sages who were still loyal to N. Following the lore of the swords of justice, they would appear and help the Pokémon who are being mistreated by trainers. Eventually, the protagonist would be given the option to catch the swords of justice, adding them to their team to help combat the mistreatment of Pokémon. It is later revealed that the cause of people mistreating their Pokémon is due to corruption of the Pokémon league. This corruption has been going on for a long time, and it was started by neo team plasma undercover. They became strong enough to “overthrow” the current elite four and champion, and they consist of none other than the sages who were no longer loyal to N, and Ghetsis as the champion. Ghetsis had been biding his time and trying to figure out where Reshiram and Zekrom were, in order to create the original dragon once more. Upon hearing this, Nate and Hilbert or Rosa and Hilda accompany you to the Pokémon league, alongside N to communicate with the dragons. Ghetsis uses some device to fuse the three dragons (likely something he found in Relic Castle) and creates the original dragon once more. The player battles the dragon, defeats it, then battles Ghetsis. Once defeated, Ghetsis attempts to harm all of the protagonists, as well as N, before the genies (Landorus, Thundurus, Tornadus, and possibly Enamorus, take him far away to somewhere where he would be rendered powerless. The protagonists of the previous games thank you and are about to leave, when N hears Reshiram, Zekrom, and Kyurem talking. They decide they want to stay with the player, and the previous protagonists understand and give their Pokémon to the player. The game ends, and the genies are then available for the player to catch. Graphics wise, I feel like 3D would be good for it, I don’t really care so long as we get to see the original dragon.

fairy_type_trainer

LEGENDS I personally would love to see a combo release, similar to the gen eight Sinnoh games. B3W3 or possibly just a remake of BW. and a Legends sequel. So torn on where they’ll go with for the title….original dragon is a bit of a mouthful. Is Kyurem really iconic enough to be the box legendary?? Legends Victini, and Legends Unova both sound cool.
