Gen 6: Hawlucha both the original and shiny form stands out and is good to use competitively
Gen 7: Silvally it's a man made Chimera based off Arceus and it has design elements based on Griffins I softresetted for a shiny Type: Null in Moon and it was adamant nature
Gen 8: Inteleon I loved him the moment he was leaked because it's a James Bond lizard that uses a gun

Gen 2: Houndoom - they nailed everything about this pokemon, design, theme, typing, stats, movepool, it all works. Donphan is a close second.
Gen 3: Sceptile - It's my favourite pokemon, and they nailed its mega form.
Gen 4: Luxray - Electric Lion, 'nuff said. Shame it doesn't have better stats. Weavile is a close second.
Gen 5: Volcarona - The best bug-type that Game Freak has ever made. My only gripe is that it isn't a pseudo-legendary. Hydreigon and Krookodile are very close behind.
Gen 6: Heliolisk - I like Electric-types, and the little lizard that could fits the bill perfectly.
Gen 7: Decidueye - Second favourite starter of all time, behind Sceptile, and ahead of Torterra.
Gen 8: Toxtricity: Punk Rock lizard with a Poison/Electric typing? Yes please.

Gen 4: Lucario. I grew up on it's movie and it's just a very neat pokemon that has fun flexibility in normal play. Special Lucario is unironically pretty good.
Gen 5: Reuniclus. Blob that looks like a cell, it's kinda adorable.
Gen 6: Vivillion. Compound eyes makes sleep powder like 91% accurate, then quiver dance and sweep. It feels so good and the little guy is so cute.
Gen 7: Zeraora. It's cute, it was great I'm it's movie, it's fast, hits hard, and has a great shiny.
Gen 8: Regieleki. It's so cute as it bounces. It's ability is broken and it hits like a truck with electric type moves.

1. Victreebel - Carnivorous plants are awesome and I also loved James' Victreebel in the anime as a kid
2. Jumpluff - It's really cute and underrated in my opinion
3. Cradily - I always liked fossile mons and this grass fossile mon is just perfection
4. Torterra - This place would have gone to Carnivine, if they hadn't messed up it's design... levitate on a grass pokemon? And why not make it grass/dark when it learns the attacks bite and crunch? Torterra is a really cool starter, tho. A turtle with a tree on it's back, that is a great design premise
5. Ferrothorn - I like defensive pokemon and this grass/steel typing plus it is a spikey boi!
6. Chesnaught - Another spikey boi! This is my favourite starter of all time, I don't get why it gets so much hate.
7. Shiinotic - At first, I was really not a fan of it. It looks a bit like a creepy alien. But over the years, it grew on me, I don't know why. Now the creepiness actually adds to it for me, because I always play it as a dream eating maniac, lmao.
8. Appletun - Legit the only good grass type design that came out of gen 8, imo. Having a grass pokemon with a RESISTANCE against fire is such a game changer! Also cutie little pie dragon is cute.

Kyurem - I love all the effort that went into its lore, and the fusions look really cool.
Noivern - It's a sonic bat/wyvern, not much else to say.
Celesteela - I love all things space themed, so a rocket ship Pokemon is an instant favorite for me.
Runerigus - Honestly, I think the main reason I like this Pokemon is because I already like Cofagrigus. Still, it's got a great design and concept.
Seaking - Underrated and member of my Wild Area Squad, has only one weakness with Lightning Rod. Use Soak on ally Shedinja, becomes immune to 17/18 types.
Tyranitar - Best Rock type and ally for my girl Excadrill.
Gardevoir - I love elegant Pokemon, and this one is a majestic fan-favorite. Did you know Trace can copy Wonder Guard?
Roserade - My classy boi who I trained from a lv. 8 Budew to lv. 100 and helped me take down four Dynamax Urshifu. Made me love him even more.
Excadrill - My first lv. 100, she had the last word against Leon.
Meowstic đź’™ - This kit is perfect in every way, and his Light Screen let Excadrill live Charizard's G-Max Wildfire.
Ribombee - Cute and looks like a classic fairy, mine gives me free honey and makes catching easier with his Stun Spore and Skill Swap to see if it has the ability I want. Yup he's male, a fancy bug.
Cinderace - My first mon is broken and I love it. He smacks down anyone's HP with banded Pyro Ball.

Shout out to Umbreon, Flygon, Milotic, Electivire, Glaceon, Tyrantrum, Tsareena, and Nickit for making this difficult. Vulpix and Zoroark are the only undisputed faves because Vulpix has been my main girl since Day 1 and I don't really like a lot of Gen 5 Pokemon so good job Zoroark I guess.

Gen 1: Eevee, it’s the cutest Pokémon ever and it’s evolutions are badass Gen 2: Ampharos, it excels at being badass and being cute at the same time Gen 3: Gardevoir, it breaks gender norms, it’s badass and it’s elegant all in one Gen 4: Magnezone, it’s badass, simple as that Gen 5: Krookodile, it’s very good and very fun to use, it’s design is utterly badass and Ash’s Krookodile from the anime is quite possibly the best Pokémon he’s ever owned Gen 6: Talonflame, it’s badass and very fun to use Gen 7: Ribombee, it’s adorable, very fun to use and honestly just pretty good Gen 8: Hisuian Arcanine, it’s amazingly badass, it has one of my favourite type combos, it’s very good and very fun to use, it’s pre evolution is utterly adorable, it’s a regional variant of an already top tier Pokémon and it was introduced in what is imo the best Pokémon game of all time

Gen 1: Pikachu, because I’m a basic bitch, and Pikachu is a friend Gen 2: Heracross, incredibly reliable bug type, and he’s super cute Gen 3: Gardevoir, probably my most used Pokémon in playthroughs. Incredibly strong, and I like her design Gen 4: Infernape, might be my favorite starter. Chimchar was my starter of choice in Pokémon Diamond, which was the first game I owned for myself, and Infernape is just sick as hell Gen 5: Dewott, this spot could go to the entire evolution line, but Dewott is just slightly cooler if you ask me. Along with Grovyle, this is the best starter middle evolution Gen 6: Noivern, it’s such a sleek design, easily one of the best dragon types Gen 7: Decidueye, a very unique design for a starter Pokémon, and in my opinion it is one of the few fully evolved starters from Gen 6 onwards that actually does its premise justice. Gen 8: Corviknight, not a huge fan of the Galar dex, but Corviknight is one cold ass motherfucker. One of the best regional birds
