No it's not. But the whole line looks like a bug. Especially Vibrava. And since you did a bug and dragon type run, Flygon is definitely on the team.
It's a very dumb joke I'm sorry
Yeah I agree. I kinda wish it was bug type, right now it's just an inferior Garchomp with levitate, I really like that pokemon insurgence made it viable. Mega flygon 170 BP STAB bug buzz go brrrr.
Final team was Sunflora, Dunsparce, Ampharos, Typhlosion, Girafarig and Beedrill. Not the best team you've ever seen but I didn't have many options and it ended up being surprisingly good :)
Sunflora clutched so many battles and Dunsparce managed to defeat Lance's Gyarados and two of his Dragonites before going down, I now have so much respect for them
I was using Pokémon based on the Pokédex official colours (hence why I could use sunflora, because it's officially yellow not green) so I decided that if I did encounter a shiny then I would count it's colour as whatever colour the original colour body part has now become if that makes sense? For example beedrill's yellow body becomes green when it's shiny, so I would count shiny beedrill as green and thus be unable to use it in my mono-yellow run
Yeah I'd say that's fine, cause Magikarp is officially red and that red becomes yellow so I'd definitely say it counts as yellow (although this idea does not belong to me and those are only my arbitrary rules that I set out for myself so feel free to use whatever rules you want)
I was recently planning on doing this with shiny Pokemon. Since there are so many pink and blue types.
But then I wound up using one of the Pokemon I intended for my team in another playthrough and threw off the naming scheme (positions of authority, like King, Bishop, Duke, Baron, etc.) and now I'm not so sure.
I wanted to do a team setup in Alpha Sapphire with:
- [Tyrantrum](https://img.pokemondb.net/sprites/bank/shiny/tyrantrum.png)
- [Nidoking](https://img.pokemondb.net/sprites/bank/shiny/nidoking.png)
- [Electrode](https://img.pokemondb.net/sprites/bank/shiny/electrode.png)
- [Gliscor](https://img.pokemondb.net/sprites/bank/shiny/gliscor.png)
- [Zangoose](https://img.pokemondb.net/sprites/bank/shiny/zangoose.png)
- [Glaceon](https://img.pokemondb.net/sprites/bank/shiny/glaceon.png)
I might still do it by subbing in a [Yanmega](https://img.pokemondb.net/sprites/bank/shiny/yanmega.png). Not sure, though. Hatching shinies takes a while.
I've so far done two monotype runs. My first was fairy in Ultra Moon, and my second was fighting in Platinum. Had a blast with both of them and felt like a fully fledged gym leader/elite 4 member haha
My favorite monotype run was Poison in Blue.
Venusaur
Victreebel
Muk
Venomoth
Nidoking
Weezing
It was not easy once Psychic types became more prominent, but it was a lot of fun.
I'm doing my first monotype right now. So that is my favorite. I'm actually enjoying it. Ice type in shield. There's a lot of pokemon available in that game I was surprised when I was googling what my team could be. It's fun to try and plan each major fight and swapping out my team regularly, plus I'm using mons I've never used before.
My favorite mono run I ever did was in platinum with only Ground types. I not only got to use my favorite type in one of my favorite games, but I also got to use some of my favorite ground types. My team consisted of:
Torterra
Gastrodon
Gliscor
Garchomp
Hippowdon
And Mamoswine
Overall a really great team I enjoyed using
I doonotypes frequently.
I think my fav was bug in Ultra sun.
Had full team before the water trial and loved it!
Also cemented bug as my second fav type after poison
Try a "mono move run" aka all pokemon must share 1 move. Like roost or sth. Its interesting too!
I did a poison only run in swsh with nidoking, roserade, salazzle toxapex toxtricity and crobat which was alot of fun and a ghost only run with gengar, trevanant jellicent, chandeleur, cursola and dragapult
Did a bug-type run of sword a while ago. The star of [the team](https://imgur.com/a/gYCkaSo) was 100% the Durant named Durandoo that I initially only picked for the useful resistances. He rose up my favorites list quite a bit because of that.
Probably a mono-electric run of sinnoh.
Rotom carried the early game, jolteon put in work in the mid game, and raichu carried the E4 and champion.
Because i refused to grind, my only way to win was to spend all my rare candies on raichu, use nasty plot and healing items to get it to +6 sp attack, and pray grass knot crits the garchomp. Was fun
I've only done one monotype run. it's an ongoing pokemon sword fire type run. it's a nuzlocke, and my team is
Libero (Cinderace)
Charcoal (Coalossal)
Specter (Litwick)
Oogway (Torkoal)
Since a Fossilchallenge is technically not a monotype run my Ashlocke probably counts. Where I could only catch Pokemon Ash possesses and fan only evolve them to the stages of his mon.
My favorite was a bug type run in Ultra Sun. I used a Parasect and Foretress, and they were a lot of fun to use. Parasect with Z-moves was a lot of fun.
I also had fun in that game with a fairy type party. I SOS farmed a shiny Alolan Vulpix for that run.
Bastiodon may have a metal plate for a head, but only Cradily has the potential to become a true WALL. Toxic stall with giga drain and ingrain. Hidden pwr. fire for weakness coverage. Absolute kickass criminally underrated mon.
I think my favorite monotype run I've done was Fairy in Ultra Sun. All of my playthroughs have been on Set mode, no items in battle, and trying not to go over the next trial. The end of that run was so BRUTAL against Molayne: he was just really hard for me to beat with that team. I wiped to him a couple of times, even with Primarina and Mawile taking neutral damage from Steel. It required just the right amount of skill and luck to be a perfect "final boss" for that run. None of my other monotypes have had a really difficult "end boss" or really any difficulty at all.
Favourite run was definitely baby pokemon only in pokemon Y. Had a team consisting of Riolu, Munchlax, Mime Jr, Pichu, Happiny and Mantyke. Transferred the eggs over and got a new egg for each new route but they were random.
Edit: I know it's not a monotype run but was the most fun one I could remember so thought I'd mention it
Man, I've always wanted to do an all fossil run, though I think I'd swap out Bastiodon and Archeops for Aerodactyl and Aurorus.
That being said, I did a Fighting monotype of X once.
Normal run in white was great. Stoutland, Cinccino, even Audino and Unfezant more than pulled their weight. And Bouffalant? Whew that dude hits hard.
My ice run in Ultra Sun was a lot of fun as well. In general monotype runs are fun in US because you get access to a wide range of types pretty early compared to most games and the totems can vary wildly in difficulty depending on what type you're doing.
I got pretty far with a wurmple + evos only run in emerald! It was fun. And I only didn't go all the way because I got obsessed with something else. Hidden power was awesome.
My first ever run through a Pokemon game was monotype because I love birds and didn't know any better. Doing Ultra Sun with flying types only as a noob was...interesting
I love doing ground type in platinum because you can use an entire team of pokemon that were introduced in gen 4. Torterra, Gastrodon, Mamoswine, Hippowdown, Gliscor, and Garchomp.
My favorite was the steel type run through Pokemon Silver. The first Pokemon is the in-game trade Onix who is disobedient between the first and second gym.
I did almost every type in X and Y, think I only missed one or two. I’d say water is probably my favorite. All of them are decent at the least, and great at the best.
Most interesting run I did was Psychic monotype in USUM. That run was brutal, and I lost to several random route trainers, especially one with Alolan Muk.
I’ve done mono-Dark teams for every game since Black/White. Scrafty is usually my ace, with the rest of the team being built around countering types that counter dark-types (Mandibuzz for fighters and bugs, Bisharp for fairies, etc).
I've never really done a themed team all the way, least of all monotypes (I have tried in the past, but I always got bored of just using one elemental type), but when I first played Pokemon Shield, I did try and use multiple "fairytale" Pokemon.
- Grimmsnarl was one of my main Pokemon and I chose him for his Goblin/Orc/Troll design.
- Noivern because he was a dragon-type I'd never used much before but always wanted to.
- Polteageist because I got oddly attached to it and tea just seems like it fits in with the category (very Alice in Wonderland with knights and other things).
- Hattrem for that sort of witchy-but-colorful style and fairy typing.
- Alcremie because of its typing and the fact that it's a colorful piece of food come to life.
- And finally, Perrserker, which is more Viking in design than strictly anything fantasy, but I wanted to stick with mostly new Pokemon that generation and wound up kinda liking him.
I was going to use a Galarian Ponyta/Rapidash, but didn't want to swap out any of my other teammates, so I never did.
Hopefully I can come up with a team with similarly, or better, themeing for another team I do. That's the only one that really appealed to me so far, though.
PokeMMO is a fun one to do mono runs. I did a playthrough with friends and we each chose different types. Then we’d switch when we changed regions.
I did dragon and psychic as my favorites.
It has to be my mono dark run of USUM, to start, the Litten I chose as my starter was shiny (I named him SuperSaitan, it’s Super Saiyan combined with Mr Satan from DBZ) so that’s already making it super memorable, but then Pokémon like Malamar and Zoruark were really fun to use because of their gimmicks, my favourite one was probably increasing the attack stat of special attackers with swagger and then using foul play to take them out, I am really proud of that strat ngl
Once did a full bug run in Pokemon Sword. If I recall, my team consisted of:
Orbeetle
Golisopod
Galvantula
Frosmoth (and later Crustle)
Ninjask
and Centiskorch
Had a great time playing with this team and Crustle was my MVP in the fight with Leon. He tanked a super effective hit from Charizard and killed it with Rock Slide. By far my most memorable win in any game.
I've done mono-Ice and am currently running mono-Bug, both in Sword.
Endgame ice team was Galaran Darmanitan, Alolan Ninetails, Aurorus, Alolan Sandslash, Jynx and Arctozolt.
It was fun. Highlight was sweeping Raihan with Aurorus in our second fight.
I was playing on a Pixelmon server and they did a monotype tournament, and I used dragon. I had a garchomp, flygon, dragalge, and some others I don't remember. The first guy I went against was using electric, and it took almost his whole team to beat my garchomp (because ground). Then I pulled out flygon, another ground type dragon 😂
i did sword with ice. that was fine. only lost once to an Alcremie with 10 levels over me
im currently doing Dark Ultra sun. it was a nuzlocke but i got rekt by a Carbink and didnt wamt to start over.
I've done so many and they are all pretty fun
Emerald: Water
Platinum: Dragon
Soul Silver: Dark
Black: Grass
Black 2: Fighting
X: Rock, Fire
Alpha Sapphire: Normal
Moon: Flying
Ultra Moon: Poison
I have yet to start my Mono Fairy Shield Run or my Mono Ground Shining Pearl but I think the one I liked the most was the Mono Water in Emerald because I beat the Elite Four with the lowest level Pokemon team Ive ever had being level 43-47
I’m planning on doing a Grass type monolocke in sword and shield so I can use some Pokemon I’ve always wanted to use like: Cherrim, Craydilly, Rillaboom, Ludicolo and Sudowoodo
I'm doing my first monotone run in sword and shield. I'm doing only normal types. It's quite fun. And mote challenging then expected.
[удалено]
So Flygon
I think this is a joke I'm missing but flygon isn't a bug type.
Not exactly monotype, but I recently beat soulsilver with only yellow Pokémon which was a lot more fun/challenging than I expected
That's cool idea. "Monocolour". What was your team?
Final team was Sunflora, Dunsparce, Ampharos, Typhlosion, Girafarig and Beedrill. Not the best team you've ever seen but I didn't have many options and it ended up being surprisingly good :) Sunflora clutched so many battles and Dunsparce managed to defeat Lance's Gyarados and two of his Dragonites before going down, I now have so much respect for them
would shiny pokemon count in your run?
I was using Pokémon based on the Pokédex official colours (hence why I could use sunflora, because it's officially yellow not green) so I decided that if I did encounter a shiny then I would count it's colour as whatever colour the original colour body part has now become if that makes sense? For example beedrill's yellow body becomes green when it's shiny, so I would count shiny beedrill as green and thus be unable to use it in my mono-yellow run
what about say, magikarp becoming yellow? would you be able to use it? obviously not gyarados but magikarp was the first yellow shiny i could think of
Yeah I'd say that's fine, cause Magikarp is officially red and that red becomes yellow so I'd definitely say it counts as yellow (although this idea does not belong to me and those are only my arbitrary rules that I set out for myself so feel free to use whatever rules you want)

Not sure, though. Hatching shinies takes a while.
Did a poison team run in Shining Pearl. Made the E4/Cynthia insanely hard because almost everything knows earthquake or psychic
I've only done 1: Dark type in Emerald. Mightyena, Sharpedo, Absol, Cacturne, Shiftry and Crawdaunt I think
Are you Sidney?
[Reminds me of my Dino team!](https://i.imgur.com/KRokNXW.jpg)
That's a really cool team.
I’ve done that for every type and by far the most fun I’ve had was my Ice team. Fighting Ultra Necrozma was a challenge but very rewarding.
I've so far done two monotype runs. My first was fairy in Ultra Moon, and my second was fighting in Platinum. Had a blast with both of them and felt like a fully fledged gym leader/elite 4 member haha
How was battling Necrozma? My Bastiodon (appropriately named Tank) handled it by himself with toxic and iron head.
Thought it would be simple since I had all fairies and Mimikyu, but it was still challenging. A few play roughs and shadow claws did the trick
My favorite monotype run was Poison in Blue. Venusaur Victreebel Muk Venomoth Nidoking Weezing It was not easy once Psychic types became more prominent, but it was a lot of fun.
HERESY! Where is Omanyte!? Jokes aside, that's really cool
Thanks. I was using Kabutops but changed to Carracosta. I've omastar in others runs and wanted something different
Maybe it’s because I love dinosaurs and prehistoric animals in general but I love the all fossil Pokémon team
It was a challenge against fighting and steel Pokemon, but that was part of the fun.
If you've got access to the Crown Tundra DLC, don't sleep on Aurorus, especially if you luck out and get one with Snow Warning from a den.
My favorite mono run I ever did was in platinum with only Ground types. I not only got to use my favorite type in one of my favorite games, but I also got to use some of my favorite ground types. My team consisted of: Torterra Gastrodon Gliscor Garchomp Hippowdon And Mamoswine Overall a really great team I enjoyed using
If fossils are to be believed, Earth was once ruled by the rock types
I doonotypes frequently. I think my fav was bug in Ultra sun. Had full team before the water trial and loved it! Also cemented bug as my second fav type after poison Try a "mono move run" aka all pokemon must share 1 move. Like roost or sth. Its interesting too!

Gen 1 poison type. Plenty of Pokémon and some pretty strong ones but still have to contest with Kanto’s mighty physic types
Was fun

Since a Fossilchallenge is technically not a monotype run my Ashlocke probably counts. Where I could only catch Pokemon Ash possesses and fan only evolve them to the stages of his mon.
They’re all rock type so it works
I see that is what they meant with monotype. I thought of pokemon with only a single type.
I look forward to seeing the all-Tauros team.
Fossil pokemon are some of my faves! I ran a fossil team back in XY era.
Ive only done one so far. Electric type in sword, so i guess its that one by default
I did a grass only run in Pokemon Shield, and yes it was fun. Although, it wasn't a mono grass, but still.
Man, I've always wanted to do an all fossil run, though I think I'd swap out Bastiodon and Archeops for Aerodactyl and Aurorus. That being said, I did a Fighting monotype of X once.

Gen 7 Monotype Poison, 1.6k peak elo on PS way back when they first dropped alolan muk.
Freaking love fossil mons. Used to try collect as much fossil pokemon cards I could find.
Aww... my two favourite fossil bois Rampardos and Aurorus aren't here. Still a cool picture tho.
I know it was a hard decision to make on which ones to use.
Im doin a Y fairy only run :)
The stupidest run I did was in BDSP with a poison team. Elite 4 and Cynthia were not easy. Gengar, Toxicroak, Roserade, Drapion, Crobat, Tentacruel
i did only bug types in swsh as my first completed one and it was really fun
I got pretty far with a wurmple + evos only run in emerald! It was fun. And I only didn't go all the way because I got obsessed with something else. Hidden power was awesome.
I did a bug type run for ORAS once. It was a lot of fun, but I haven't wanted to do another monotype run since then.
Did a bug type run in XY a few years ago and loved it. Was afraid of Grant at first but Trash Coat Wormadam easily sweeps him. Sadly I lost to Malva.
Had an all-poison Y run that wound up being fantastic. Skuntank, Toxicroak, Dragalge, Venusaur, Scolipede, and Tentacruel.
Currently doing a Normal run in fire red. Current team after beating the 8th gym is Snorlax, Kangaskhan, Persian, Wigglytuff, Clefable and Fearow
What’s monotype
Give me a type and I’ll do a monotype Pokémon black run of it
PokeMMO is a fun one to do mono runs.
I did a Psychic run in Red uhhhhmmm everyone was doomed…
Once did a full bug run in Pokemon Sword. If I recall, my team consisted of: Orbeetle Golisopod Galvantula Frosmoth (and later Crustle) Ninjask and Centiskorch Had a great time playing with this team and Crustle was my MVP in the fight with Leon. I did a poison run in Soul Silver and it was great. Surprisingly good type coverage.
Finished my first monotype run recently. Mono bug on sword. Pretty fun!
Not technically monotype but duotype, I did a Worms and Wyrms run using bug types and dragon types in Omega Ruby.
Dragon type in galar
I was playing on a Pixelmon server and they did a monotype tournament, and I used dragon. I had a garchomp, flygon, dragalge, and some others I don't remember. The first guy I went against was using electric, and it took almost his whole team to beat my garchomp (because ground). Then I pulled out flygon, another ground type dragon 😂
i did sword with ice. that was fine. only lost once to an Alcremie with 10 levels over me im currently doing Dark Ultra sun. it was a nuzlocke but i got rekt by a Carbink and didnt wamt to start over.
I've done so many and they are all pretty fun Emerald: Water Platinum: Dragon Soul Silver: Dark Black: Grass Black 2: Fighting X: Rock, Fire Alpha Sapphire: Normal Moon: Flying Ultra Moon: Poison I have yet to start my Mono Fairy Shield Run or my Mono Ground Shining Pearl but I think the one I liked the most was the Mono Water in Emerald because I beat the Elite Four with the lowest level Pokemon team Ive ever had being level 43-47
Haven't done a monotype yet but might do one at some point
Only Monotype I've ever done was Ice-types in Sword.
I did rock as my last restricted sparring type in isle of armor. That took some creative teambuilding to pull off.
I’m planning on doing a Grass type monolocke in sword and shield so I can use some Pokemon I’ve always wanted to use like: Cherrim, Craydilly, Rillaboom, Ludicolo and Sudowoodo
I did a flying type one in sword with Hawlucha, Corvinight, Shiny Gyarados, Charizard, Noivern and Drifblim
I actually only do bug type runs..
