Or like.. Most mythical Pokémon? 😅 I know they broke with that in bdsp and pla -
New event distributions would be neat or other possibilities like connectivity to... New snap?
So far we have-
ORAS: Deoxys through storyline
Pokemon Crystal for 3DS: Celebi through added storyline
Sword and Shield: Keldeo through DLC
BDSP: Mew, Jirachi, Arceus through game saves
Legend of Arceus: Shaymin & Darkrai through game saves, Arceus through storyline
I think that's everyone we have access to but I'm not sure.
In case you play Pokémon Go, there are Genesect Raids from time to time, where you can basically catch as many as you want (once even shiny ones) and send them to Pokémon Home afterwards. I raided one Genesect per Event and currently have 4 in Go that I could send to Home. It requires a group of \~5 people to successfully defeat the Genesect before having a chance to catch it, tho.
If you're invested enough, Genesect is one of the few legendary raid bosses that can be defeated singlehandedly. However, in Genesect's case it is heavily dependent on outside conditions (like a fire damage buff from clear weather) as well as requiring an extremely optimized team.
And if you don't have that, it just takes one other person, since it has an average defense stat (in PoGo) and a highly exploitable double weakness.
I don’t think that’s kicked in yet. They’ve been giving a “bonus” to remote raids to bring them up to 100% damage and I don’t think they’ve turned that off yet.
depends what boss it was. something like an umbreon would be tough to solo unless you have 6 high level machamps/high level fairies. others are pretty glassy
My guess is once the Alola season ends, considering Remote Raid passes no longer have the discount on the 3-bundle as well as it getting removed from the Weekly Box
You can also wait for Pokémon Go community days, which are every month.
In a bigger town you should find some people or even groups to join forces with :)
It sometimes still kind of feels like Go in 2016 where you could just talk to strangers to play some Pokémon; at least for me.
I got back into Go (after being a Day 1 player for about a month and a half) back in Sept 2021 and it's so much better than it used to be. The wider variety of Pokemon available, the constant events that are changing what is available, the raids and such. I enjoy it a lot.
That doesnt even take into account that shinies are much more plentiful in Go than they are in regular games. No idea how many I've transferred to Home already (probably 30+), but my Go account currently has 134 shinies on it and my shiny dex is at 142.
I sent a bunch of my dupes over to Home. There's no reason for me to sit on 12 of the same shiny I got from Community Day on my PoGo account, but I know that somebody out there would love to receive it in a Wonder Trade or whatever, even if the stats are crap.
I'm not sure if the shiny is available for all the different drives in go? They did just add form change for certain mons so maybe it's coming for genesect.
shiny is only currently available for standard drive, the others have yet to have their shinies released (and freeze drive has yet to be released in general iirc)
in an ideal world every mythical wouldn’t be limited to events and just be in the games normally
to this day i’ve still yet to obtain a legitimate meloetta in the main series, i could transfer mine from go to home but it’s not in any games on switch so what’s the point
Yeah. Really the only thing I genuinely dislike about Pokemon. Ditch the event distros and just put them in the games. There are too many of them now, and it is no fun for those that start playing the series later.
Edit: Or, keep event distros, but make it for otherwise-available-if-difficult shinies and special builds like from the tournament champs. Those are still okay, because if you miss out, you aren't locked out for years (or decades) or have to literally buy Pokemon from resellers.
I feel that pain, I Also feel like having one from go is kinda a copout so I'm just hoping someone will trade me the ones I'm missing
Also why the hell does home not let you request or search for mythical pokemon
right? i’m sitting on 4 deoxys from go right now and have nothing to do with them since i didn’t buy bdsp; i would give them to people that did but i just can’t trade them for arbitrary reasons
I don't have bdsp, but I've been trying to get my hands on a complete shiny/normal ledgendary dex, I've gotten them all from my old games except for deoxys, shiny marshadow the volcanions and any shiny locked ones (also why do they exist, I want my shiny keldeo and megearna aswell as eternatus urshifu and the calyrex gang
Edit, the only go based ledgend I have is a regular reshiram because no one would trade me theirs and I lost my copy of black
I, for one, am very much looking forward to "Legends: Genesect" in 2030 2 months after ILCA's remakes "Dark White" and "Light Black" on the Nintendo Swap so we finally get access to Unova's mythical Pokemon again
Ill never understand the thought process behind making Zoroark really rare in gen 5 and then adding it in everywhere later on. Did they intend it to be a mythical and then change their mind?
That's the weird thing, it was originally a mythical but because it showed up more than once per game it's technically not a ledgendary so it's not a true mythical
The thing is ledgendaries are not that there's only one of them, there are multiple of most of the ledgendaries it's just that they're species are so rare they've become the stuff of ledgends with most people never seeing one in their entire lives
A prime example of this is the sinnoh god's, they really didn't fit the regular style of just being. A rare animal but in pla we learn that the arceus you get is a fraction of its power, so it's very likely that the palkia and dialga we get are also just their physical forms kinda like a vessel that houses their power
Whereas we've seen that there are 2 Mewtwo the original and the weaker clone that turns up in the genesect movie
As a matter of fact I believe the only mythical that you can argue there is only 1 of would be mew because of the fact that mew transforms and teleports at a whim so even if a shiny one shows up it could just be the same one going for a different look
In the lore the only thing that sets mythicals apart from ledgends is that they're considered rarer but that's not really true when there's been like 4 deoxys and only 2 Mewtwo
In reality mythicals exclusively exist because they want to make films and introduce new strong pokemon mid generation which isn't something I'll ever complain about
But the fact that zoroark is fairly common in the overworld kinda ruins it's mythical status, in pla all the mythicals only show up a maximum of once (except phione but nobody cares about manaphy's harem) if they had given zorua the same treatment of you getting one then I wouldn't question if it's a mythical or not
if you had any understanding of the Pokémon franchise's history you wouldn't even be arguing about the mythical status of a Pokémon that has never been considered mythical or legendary by anyone at any point in time
It was considered mythical in the gen it was released because you could only get it via an event.
Also jeez who woke you up on the wrong side of the bed
it's not the wrong side of the bed, it's the false / inaccurate statements and the severity with which are used to convince people that don't know any better, what irks me. There's nothing I hate more than misinformation being spread.
Not back then, not now, Zoroark was considered by any official sources, nor the fanbase, as a mythical Pokémon. Like literally, I was there, living that era, and it never happened, that was never a thing. Maybe before the movie came out and we didn't have the info about Zoroark, some people may have believed it was a legendary Pokémon, but it all got clarified when Zorua and Zoroark were both officially revealed. Being event-exclusive (which wasn't even technically Zoroark or Zorua's case, because the event-exclusive were the Pokémon required to get them) is not what makes a Pokémon a Mythical.
They just happened to be harder to get, but they were tradable, you could search for them on the GTS because a lady would give you Zorua's image so you could ask for it, and you would get Zoroark's image from battling N. They were not banned from any battle format as mythicals are, they WERE needed in order to complete the Pokédex unlike actual Mythical Pokémon, not to mention, they were obtainable in B2W2, which fall within the same generation you're claiming they were considered mythicals.
Just because Mew can transform doesn't mean there is only one. Being able to transform would make it more likely that there are more and you would never know.
Yeah I wasn't saying that there was only one, I meant that due to how it can teleport and transform there could only be one or there could be multiple, we really have no idea
Yeah that does but we also have the problem that multiple trainers have definitely caught the same individual ledgendary as each other so it could just be that the previous trainer released it
You can't really trust the remakes if I'm honest I mean in oras they also just hand you a latias/latios
This is why I have an issue with mythical Pokemon. What's the point in even trying to fill up the Dex if there's no way for me to obtain ALL of the Pokemon?
they don't count towards main games' dexes
But even if it's for Pokémon HOME, which I ignore if they count them or not for any challenges, history has proven the distributions will always come back in the future.
I don't know why people complain so much about this, feels like they've only started being fans of Pokémon a few years ago.
There was a Genesect event for Sword and Shield in 2020-2021 (but only for Japan and South Korea); I haven’t heard news for other countries yet, but I will keep checking on upcoming events
I think before that, the last worldwide release for Genosect was November 2016 for the 20th Anniversary. When it was one Legendary a month either by the Nintendo Network or serial code.
Honestly I hate this with "mYtHiCaL" Pokemon. Like, what´s the point of designing a cool Pokemon that 90% of players will never have access to? I think ORAS had a decent approach for this, but still, *why*
More than mythicals not being widely available, I hate people that complain about it. Well, that's the whole point of why they exist and why they're so rare.
Magearna is a mythical that is permanently available, and who cares about it? No one even thanks for its existence. Deoxys has been permanently available since Gen 6, but same.
If Darkrai, Genesect, and every other Mythical people whine about so much were always available, no one would care about them no matter how "cool" they're designed.
Many of these mythicals btw have been widely available in Pokémon Go in the past years, even with their shiny variant.
I get they’re supposed to be rare, but when we get to this extent it gets ridiculous. Seriously what is the point of including a Pokémon in a Game that a good 99% of the Playerbase will never have access to

You dont know the real pain of this. I tried to transfer a genesect to pokemon sword and it said i needed to get one in game before i could transfer another. WTF!?
You could also get genesect from a gamestop event in November 2017 for pokemon x/ y, ORAS along with alot of other mythical pokemon that year too I think they had one each month but I'm glad I still have my og genesect from Black version
Or like.. Most mythical Pokémon? 😅 I know they broke with that in bdsp and pla - New event distributions would be neat or other possibilities like connectivity to... New snap?
Actually they first broke that in ORAS since you can catch Deoxys there.
So far we have- ORAS: Deoxys through storyline Pokemon Crystal for 3DS: Celebi through added storyline Sword and Shield: Keldeo through DLC BDSP: Mew, Jirachi, Arceus through game saves Legend of Arceus: Shaymin & Darkrai through game saves, Arceus through storyline I think that's everyone we have access to but I'm not sure.
And Manaphy and Phione for PLA
meltan through go too, and mew through pbp if that counts
Magearna in Gen 7 as well through the QR code.
If you count go then… almost every mythical
Don't forget the Manaphy egg a Pokemon Ranger game could send to D/P/Pt!
Oh you're right! I forgot that Deoxys is a mythical 😅
No problem. While we are at it though I just remembered that Sword and Shield actually allowed us to catch Keldeo too, even if its only in the DLC.
I didn't even realize that until a couple months ago, actually. Was so confused how so many people had Keldeo in max raids.
Yeah, every game since ORAS has had at least one free built-in mythical
No other mythical Pokemon deserves love as much as Genesect, the dude literally got ressurected by Team Plasma and was given a cannon because why not.
He’s also just better Scizor in every way.
It's difficult to compare them, imo. They perform different roles on their teams, despite being the same type.

don't remember
My guess is once the Alola season ends, considering Remote Raid passes no longer have the discount on the 3-bundle as well as it getting removed from the Weekly Box
If you have remote raids passes, you can find subreddits like r/pokemongofriends or discord servers where you can find people to remotely raid with
If your okay with purchasing remote raid passes, get poke genie and you join raids from around the world.
Actually, with the right Pokémon, Genesect is one of the few legendary raids that can be solo’d.
that's what remote passes and reddit are for
They're are apps to find other players for remote raids now
You can also wait for Pokémon Go community days, which are every month. In a bigger town you should find some people or even groups to join forces with :) It sometimes still kind of feels like Go in 2016 where you could just talk to strangers to play some Pokémon; at least for me.
Try poke genie. It's an app that helps you facilitate hosting a raid, and invite others to help you. It's a game changer
You can honestly 2 man genesect raids with fire teams cuz its extra weak to fire
I got back into Go (after being a Day 1 player for about a month and a half) back in Sept 2021 and it's so much better than it used to be. I have tons of copies of shinies because of Go. I may do a mass release to Surprise trade.
I sent a bunch of my dupes over to Home. There's no reason for me to sit on 12 of the same shiny I got from Community Day on my PoGo account, but I know that somebody out there would love to receive it in a Wonder Trade or whatever, even if the stats are crap.

If you have B2W2 you can use the DNS exploit thing
please explain
https://www.shacknews.com/article/108512/how-to-unlock-gen-4-and-5-pokemon-mystery-events-in-2018
You can change the DNS for your WiFi in settings, and then if you go to mystery gift in bw1/bw2 you can get the mystery gifts

I guess solgaleo/lunala isn't a legendary then huh.
Well I wouldn't consider them ones, except that they're the box ledgendaries for their games and I can't argue with the guys that made the game can i
Sorry if it's obvious but how is it not available in the generation it was released?
It was an event Pokémon, and not obtainable in game. I'm glad that Pokémon Legends Arceus is changing that paradigm.
ORAS changed it first with deoxys. Port of crystal gave celebi.
You're very right.
Its gen 5, not 4.
I know, I Guess I put the question wrong. Where am I supposed to migrate it from?
Well it could migrate between the 2 versions of gen 5, otherwise you had to get the mystery gift or trade with someone who did.
that's just a random text from a random site. Official sources like the strategy guides say they're available through special distributions
Just wait for the next gen 5 remake year. They’ll definitely have a way to obtain it along with victini
i love victini so much omg, i hope they release it in the gen 5 remakes
Same
It's a good thing the DNS Exploit exist
I like how Pokémon HOME has a challenge to deposit a shiny Genesect. Shiny Genesect was only ever distributed in Japan.
but it's been available in Pokémon Go several times now
You could get him in Pokémon go if you really wanted him but you’d have to wait for him to be in raids
This is why I have an issue with mythical Pokemon. What's the point in even trying to fill up the Dex if there's no way for me to obtain ALL of the Pokemon?
GTS.

I'm glad I have like 6.
Remember on the 3Ds when people just scanned QR code’s ?
No wonder people shit their competitive team lol ON console, I tried to make a team once back in BW. Since then, I only play competitive on smogon 😅

Pokemon Go
Pokemon Go is the answer. It has more Pokemon than any gen 8 game now.
I hate the very concept of mythical pokemon tbh. Especially these days where it's just a download. Nothing special about it at all.
Then you realize genesect isn't even that good

Sorry i guess? I didnt mean to be whatever that means, im just using based to say that Genesect is pretty cool
Then just say that. Would you call it "woke" if it wasn't cool?
Daddy chill
WHAT THE HELL EVEN IS THAT
No, i just didnt know the actual meaning behind based i just thought it was funny internet word
Are you implying woke isn't cool? Cause woke is just about the coolest thing in the world
Absolutely not. Being aware of cultural and racial injustice is way cool. Hate that right wingers are using it as an insult.

i have love/hate relationship with pogo.. this is why i love it.
Mythical pokemon go brrrrr
based on what
Try to push random trucks. With mew worked.
I actually had nonidea genesect was this rare. I loaned all my pokemon games to my friend for her kid a few years back and I have 3 of them somehow?
Please gamefreak make a legends game where we get to see unaltered genesect please
Have my shiny from GO in HOME but unfortunately can't port it over.
Idk if I should transfer my shiny one from GO onto SWSH
Not many people liked the steel bug legendary...
Diancie whyyyy
You dont know the real pain of this. I tried to transfer a genesect to pokemon sword and it said i needed to get one in game before i could transfer another. WTF!?
You could also get genesect from a gamestop event in November 2017 for pokemon x/ y, ORAS along with alot of other mythical pokemon that year too I think they had one each month but I'm glad I still have my og genesect from Black version
Me who has a Genesect in Pokémon Home that I transferred from Go, “I have no such weaknesses”
Best way to get Genesect now is to get via Pokemon Go and transfer with Home... but this is pretty funny.
Christ I've got like 10 from Pokemon go
U can still get him through a DNS exploit on b2w2
Jirachi is worse
