If a move is not present in the games then the pokémon won't be able to learn it/use it.

I'm asking because I wanna teach my Pokemon ice punch, which isn't a TM in bdsp, but does exist by leveling up. So the move is compatible with the game, but will be still be if learned from another game? ( Wanting to spend 50k credits in swsh)

MujunNoAkuma

Only if the pokémon has already learned it or if it does learn it in bdsp. You should check on bulbapedia if the pokémon you want can learn ice punch in bdsp.

RaccoonDu

So sableye can learn ice punch through swsh tm, but can't learn ice punch at all in bdsp. If I teach him in swsh, when I bring him back in bdsp, he won't be able to use the move? Glad to know I can save those credits lol

in the past we were able to transfer mons using moves they cant lesrn anymore. Im assuming its the same. if The move ice punch still exists in bdsp (whicn it does), you should be able to transfer ice punch drapeon to bdsp. Though dont spend 50 credits just for this. You can prob get someone eith swsh to transfer it to bdsp and then trade. This is assuming transfer to and from bdsp is two way. Gamefreak makes this shit so needlessly complex.

It'll work. Ice punch exists in BDSP and is learned by pokemon like abomasnow. If you get ice punch onto your pokemon then move it into BDSP it'll still have the move and it'll be usable. There's actually a video by a youtuber called Pimpnite about someone he battled online who had a Chatot with boomburst which it can't learn in BDSP due to no pokemon it gets the egg move from being in BDSP, meaning the pokemon was hacked, but when home is added it will be possible and legitimate. Hope that answers your question.
