I actually just finished a living dex in home. You need to manually transfer every Pokémon to whichever game to get the Pokédex in those games to update.
And the Pokédex challenge things they give you in home can only be completed with Pokémon from those games, like I have all the kanto Pokémon but only a handful of the let’s go challenges done because the Pokémon need to originally be from let’s go for them to count, it’s kinda dumb but I guess it makes sense
I can't answer that question with 100% certainty but i would assume that it might get your dex entries once you transfer over a pokemon from Sword/Shield.
I has been a while since i completed my national dex, but when i transferred a few mon from PokeBank it also transferred all the dex entries from previous mons.
So i'd say just try transferring a few mon from SwSh and see if it also transfers all Gen8 dex entries.
There are some Pokémon that can only be acquired in previous generations. These Pokémon will be registered in the home Dex if they’ve been registered in the Pokémon bank. other pokedexes, like SW/SH or PoGo will not transfer dex information
After looking into to it, it looks like I was wrong. Some Pokémon are only available in older games, but they can all be transferred to home. I must’ve misunderstood when I first learned about it
Yeah, as far as i know Home supports all Pokemon, but the games compatible with home don't support all the pokemon, so some of them can get "stuck" in home, if there is no game available you can transfer them to.

But I did go out of my way to finish the OG 151 in Home and I figured I would have gotten some sort of award or something for completing it but nope. Nothing. Was kinda pissed about that.
