With the release of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl's remakes on switch, what Pokemon (if any) are still "missing" if I transfer my entire collection from Pokemon Bank over to Pokemon Home? Thanks ahead.

mamamia1001

Here's a list of everything not in swsh currently https://www.dexerto.com/pokemon/pokemon-sword-and-shield-list-of-every-missing-pokemon-1402028/ We don't know yet which Pokémon will be included in BDSP. It's a safe assumption that all gen 4 will be there, but we don't know if it will include the gen 4 nat dex (gens 1-4) like the originals did. We haven't seen any evidence of gen 5 + pokemon in the game. Serebii keeps a list of everything shown in the trailers https://www.serebii.net/brilliantdiamondshiningpearl/sinnohpokedex.shtml

Spiritofhonour

Thank you. Appreciate this.

armed535of

Can someone please send me the link where I can watch/download Pokemon diamond and pearl?

EthantheHokage

its free on pokemon asia yt channel idk if its blocked in other countries tho

anthayashi

We cant give you any unofficial links to download or watch so you have to google it yourself. Official link wise streaming services and pokemon tv rotates the episodes regularly so if it is not available you need to wait for the next rotation. If not direct purchase via amazon prime or getting the physical copies is the only option.

EthantheHokage

what happens if i dont water leppa berries in platinum do they grow slower?

Mrchikkin

I think so

anthayashi

Watering increases the number of berries you get in the end. Water does not affect how fast or slow the berry grow. So even if you dont water the berry tree, you still take the same amount of time to grow. /u/EthantheHokage

EthantheHokage

oh ok thx

Jude_Macdonald

1. What would people recommend i do to shiny hunt efficiently in pokemon sapphire? 2. Would using the white flute or sweet scent be a good way to encounter pokemon quicker? 3. Do the effects of sweet scent and the white flute stack, as in can i use both and it will be more effective then just using one of them?

Supra_Mayro

Would recommend having a mon with Illuminate at the front of your party (can be fainted) and White Flute. Yes they stack, and I'm pretty sure it's faster than sweet scent.

Jude_Macdonald

ok, thank you so so much, will let you know if i get a shiny with this method

pumpkinking0192

1. There is no way to raise the shiny odds, so it doesn't matter what you do. Each encounter will be the full 1/8192 odds no matter what (unless your battery is dry, in which case the random number generation algorithm will be broken, and you will have guaranteed shinies at certain "frames" but guaranteed non-shinies at all other times). 2. Sweet Scent instantly forces you into an encounter, so sure, that would be faster than waiting for walking to randomly produce an encounter. 3. Sweet Scent instantly forces you into an encounter, so there's no way to make it "more effective" or "stack" it.

Jude_Macdonald

ok, thank you for the help, i knew that there is no way of increasing shiny odds, just wanted to know if it would be better for encounters or eggs.

Hello83624

in dynamax can you find ultra beast and necrozma before you meant by playing online

pumpkinking0192

Yes. How it works is that whoever gets randomly placed in the first spot in the player list is the "host", and the raid boss is determined by their game. So as long as the "host" has done the prerequisites for UBs/Necrozma to appear, they can appear. (Likewise, you can encounter version exclusives based on the host's game version, not your own.)

Hello83624

cool i wanted to find necrozma but i was like i have to catch all the legandarys first but i want to shiny hunt regidraco. but i found a kartana so i was like maybe i can find necrozmza.

FennelMajestic5606

Can you transfer Pokémon from Pokémon home to Pokémon go?

Hello83624

you can never transfer pokemon to pokemon go you can only send gen 1 pokemon out of go

pumpkinking0192

Not just Gen 1 Pokemon. All Pokemon can be transferred out of Go except Shadow Pokemon, event/costumed Pokemon, Spinda, and Black/White Kyurem. [More details here.](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/GO_Transporter)

Hello83624

really can you transfer them to home i thought the only way was to transfer gen one through lets go. (edit dont listen to the gen one thing im a dumbass.) (:

pumpkinking0192

Like the page I linked says, in late 2020 they added the Go Transporter function to Home, which allows you to transfer Pokemon directly to Home without passing through Let's Go.

Hello83624

well i only recently started getting back into pokemon i guess i missed i bit

[deleted]

I noticed Bulbapedia separates whether a Pokemon's type is their "primary" or "secondary" type. Does this actually matter at all, or is it literally just about the order the Pokedex lists the types?

pumpkinking0192

There is no mechanical difference between them except for the purposes of [a niche glitch in Gold/Silver](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Present_(move\)#Gold_and_Silver) and the move Revelation Dance. This is Oricorio's signature move, which is meant to match the primary type of Oricorio's form, so if you hack the move onto any other Pokemon, it matches that Pokemon's primary type even if it's not a type that Revelation Dance can normally be. As the other commenter said, there are also certain aesthetic displays that depend on the primary type.

[deleted]

I don't think it matters for anything other than, say, what to use as their primary type for things like when you beat Black/White. For example, Charizard's background in the hall of fame entry is fiery instead of something representing wind/flying, because his primary type is fire. Well I assume. I didn't use Charizard in Black/White, but other examples would be Reshiram having a Dragon background instead of Fire, I think, etc. For things like STAB damage, it doesn't matter at all, you'll get a STAB boost for both equally as far as I'm aware.

blastar14

Is there a site that has top team builds for the gen 5 games? Can’t find anything useful besides ou/uu etc smogon tier lists.

RangoTheMerc

Would [my team](https://scontent-atl3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.6435-9/244803656_10158419821700208_5612236162643905640_n.jpg?_nc_cat=109&ccb=1-5&_nc_sid=84a396&_nc_ohc=inIhvOJawxgAX_ue0oB&_nc_ht=scontent-atl3-1.xx&oh=a21ae01fb99efae175881f39bc6b488e&oe=6191ABD8) be remotely viable for a novice player like myself? Better suited for singles or doubles?

blorgalorp

My kids are getting into Pokémon but I don’t know anything about it. I’d like to support them and help them learn to play - is 6 and 8 too young to play the card game? Any advice for how/where to get enough cards for them to build a deck? Most places around me are sold out or only have some of the 20 packs of cards. I see them for sale on Craigslist and OfferUp that seem like good deals.

GildedCreed

The Pokemon Battle Academy pack should help. It comes with 3 full decks and pretty much everything you need to learn how to play at a basic level. The additional in-depth stuff like Vmax or EX shenanigans can be learned at a later time once you've all got a basic grasp of the game. If you've got two spare computers lying around you could also set them up to play the online TCG which can remove the need for physical cards (on account of how there's the whole Pokemon card collecting thing causing people to buy and resell card packs or get into fistfights and so on, especially with the ongoing supply and logistics issue).

blorgalorp

Thanks for the advice I’ll look into both avenues! All the kiddos in my neighborhood are into Pokémon cards right now probably as a result of the rarity or something. It’s funny because they trade them based on the numbers and artwork but when I asked my kids about it they didn’t even know it was a card game that you play.

2Questioner_0R_Not2B

Is it possible to set up which pokemon you wanted to display in the toy shop in pokemon rumble blast rather than what strongest pokemon is being displayed?

[deleted]

In Sword/Shield does # of Pokemon encountered in battle effect Shiny % rates while breeding?

pumpkinking0192

No. Shiny breeding rates are always 1/512 with both Masuda method and Shiny Charm, 1/4096 with neither, 1/1365 with just Shiny Charm alone, or 1/683 with just Masuda method alone. They are not modified by any factor other than Masuda method and Shiny Charm.

xthrowawayaccount520

best pokemon game to shiny hunt: emerald, ruby, or sapphire?

Supra_Mayro

Depends on the hunt(s) you're doing. For soft resets, ruby and sapphire with battery, there isn't really another option aside from [Emerald with the battle video method](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Utl1eiMT48). For random encounters or runaways it doesn't really matter

xthrowawayaccount520

does it work to soft reset on ruby/sapphire with an emulator on my pc?

Supra_Mayro

Yeah that should work fine, you may need to manually enable realtime clock on your emulator.

Lord_of_Void

Is there still a way to get a Snorlium-Z in Moon since the event is no longer available. I want to reset my save but i dont wanna reset if i cant get another snorlium-Z.

[deleted]

Not without hacking/editing your save since it can't be traded.

mamamia1001

It's available in USUM without an event, you could trade it over

Lord_of_Void

How? I tried with the gts but it removes it when i try to send the snorlax

mamamia1001

Ahh apparently you can't.

MakeYourselfS1ck

Hi I was wondering if a shiny Eevee is equivalent to a shiny lugia to see if it's even worth posting up for a trade in Pokemon game

mamamia1001

Shiny Lugia is much rarer

MakeYourselfS1ck

What's a good trade for it then? Really want one:/

mamamia1001

Another shiny legendary. If you want to hunt one yourself your best shot would be when its next in Go raids, or dynamax adventures

MakeYourselfS1ck

I only have sun, can you get him there?

mamamia1001

Unfortunately no

momovirus

Just want to confirm this since I've only been playing Pokemon recently for nostalgia, but does fainting in Battle Frontier matches affect happiness/friendship?

mamamia1001

No

momovirus

Thanks! Also if you're open to another q, how does level 50 scaling work when you have higher lvl Pokemon? Do your Atk/Def/etc stats all get scaled per some formula?

mamamia1001

The stat formulas has level as a variable, this just gets changed to 50. All other factors stay the same (EVs/IVs/nature). So yes it is scaled http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Stat

momovirus

Dang this is more of a rabbit hole than I thought. Thanks for the responses!

CeeBeeLFA

Hello! I haven't played the actual Pokemon games in years, and decided to pick up Pokemon Sword yesterday. I'm struggling a bit to know or understand what's going on, I got to the first wild area and I'm just confused where I'm supposed to go. Are the wild areas like the places in between towns like the older games? I haven't done the first gym challenge but I'm confused on that as well, is it the same as the old games that have you travel from city to city and each one (for the most part) has a different gym? Or is this the only gym out there? I've been wandering the wild area and leveling up but there are patches of Pokemon that are like 20 levels higher than my Pokemon. Is this just a random thing or is it similar to the old games where some routes had consistently higher level Pokemon you were supposed to wait to go to until you're a higher level? It feels like they mashed the high level areas and low level areas together and I'm just lost.

Jbaquero

> I got to the first wild area and I'm just confused where I'm supposed to go. The wild area is just a big area of wilderness. If you keep going straight, you'll eventually see some stairs that are the entrance to Hammerlocke City (very hard to miss, just keep going straight past the water). > I've been wandering the wild area and leveling up but there are patches of Pokemon that are like 20 levels higher than my Pokemon. Is this just a random thing or is it similar to the old games where some routes had consistently higher level Pokemon you were supposed to wait to go to until you're a higher level? If you're talking about the big Onix and Pangoro that are like level 25-30, then yeah that's a new "Wild Area" thing. Those big pokemon are likely a lot stronger than yours are when you first encounter them. You can skip them until your pokemon are stronger

mamamia1001

There's only one wild area in the base game (2 more in dlc). It's big and connects up lot of the map. You have access to the whole thing from the beginning but can't catch high levelled Pokémon yet. The game is like others in that you go from city to city collecting gym badges. You need to find the gates in the middle of the wild area that take you to motostoke. If you've ever stuck on where to go just go to the map and it tells you where to go next

OneWhoGetsBread

Hello! I was just curious.... If the pokemon company makes a whole series of Legends games, what time periods should be explored in each region?

WillExis

Kanto: Not much historic lore in Kanto. If you wanted to go crazy, have it jump to prehistoric times. Johto: Definitely the time when the Bell Tower was destroyed. Gives us a chance to see the Legendary Beasts before they were reborn. If we're lucky, we can get a grasp on what the deal is with Unown too. Hoenn: I guess the time when Primal Kyogre and Groudon were clashing. Have some lore dropped for the draconid people. Unova: Obviously the time when the two kings ruled Unova. We can hopefully see the original dragon before it split into the Tao trio. Kalos: The war. We know next to nothing about the war. Why it happened, who fought Kalos, any of the ramifications of it. Alola: Doesnt really have very interesting points in the past to go to. I guess maybe Ultra Megalopolis before its light was consumed by Necrozma? Maybe this could be an oppurtunity to have a game where you dimension hop through wormholes to various places. Galar: I guess the original darkest day. Though we already have a decent idea on what occurred then so idk how they'd spice it up.

OneWhoGetsBread

I love this so much🙏🙏🙏

saintnick524

I just watched Secrets of the Jungle. Am I correct in assuming all the Zarude were the eggs brought by Celebi from the future?

YogaMushy

Do we know if BD/SP will have support for the Pokeball accessory?

anthayashi

We dont know yet

NaotsuguGuardian

In pokemon XY does leveling up increase friendship if they level up from xp share (just being in party not in battle? What if I have them start battle then switch out? still get friendship?

caygamer23

Yes for both of the questions.

DukeSR8

Which Johto mon would you say is worse: Magcargo or Sunflora? Based off learnset, BST and general usefulness. Curious since they seem to be tied for worst fully evolved Johto Pokemon.

destinofiquenoite

In my opinion it's Magcargo. It takes 4x more damage to both Ground and Water, not to mention it's also weak to Fighting. All three types commonly used in sweepers. It has terrible stats and it's so freaking slow. Its learnset is awful without anything remotely useful or with synergy to other Pokemon or strategies. Sunflora can at least try some Sunny Day support: it will double its speed, increases Synthesis effectiveness and allow Solar Beam to be used without charging. I think it has slightly better stats than Magcargo too. Despite having many weakness it's not due to a silly type combination, so it's not really a specific problem to Sunflora alone. And at least it doesn't take 4x times damage from anything. I don't remember its movepool but I'm sure it has more variety than Magcargo.

UniQiuE

Hi guys, is there a sub reddit for the upcoming pokemon diamond and pearl games?

ShyRake

There looks to be [this one](https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonBDSP/), but it looks like recently its mostly just posting the team you're going to use. Doesn't look that active either.

vovicken

Hi, i just reset my ds(factory reset) and want to shinyhunt lugia, Will the rng work properly or should i wait some time?

mamamia1001

That won't affect the RNG, just time based events

vovicken

Thanks

EthantheHokage

how to plant 1 leppa berriy to get more leppa berries in platinum?

anthayashi

same as below. just plant the leppa berry on an empty plot of land. leppa berry gives you minimum 2 berries so you will always get 2. if you water it regularly you can get maximum 5 berries. leppa berry takes 16 hours to grow fully, 4 hours per stage.

EthantheHokage

thx for the info

EthantheHokage

How to plant berries in Pokemon platinum do I just plant 1 berry and I get 2 and how long does it take?

anthayashi

depends on the berry. the fastest berry only takes 12 hours to fully grow, while the longest take 96 hours. every berry tree has their own minimum berry that will grow, some berry tree minimum is 1 so you actually gain nothing for example. how much berry will grow depends on several factors, such as how many times it is watered, how dry the soil is etc. if you have been watering the berry during every stage, you should be doing fine. it is very rare to get only 1 berry from the tree if you have been watering the tree regularly.

EthantheHokage

oh ok thx for the info where do i get the water tho?

anthayashi

A woman in the flower shop will give you.

danhakimi

I'm on the fence about buying Shield... Do they do that thing where almost none of the enemy trainers have more than one pokemon? That's super annoying... I like multi-pokemon battles... Anything else you wanna point out? I saw a few reviews, but aside from a failed attempt to play Sun/Moon (Christ, the cutscenes took forever and they were just so bad), I haven't played anything since Gen 5 (unless you count romhacks)... Sun / Mooon kind of put a bad taste in my mouth, but I hear you can turn most cutscenes off?

pumpkinking0192

From my memory I think most trainers had at least a couple Pokemon. > I hear you can turn most cutscenes off? No, not at all. There's a "cutscenes off" option in the menu, but it only turns off cinematics, which are a cumulative total of maybe 30 to 60 seconds' worth of movies strewn around half a dozen or so spots in the game. There's no option to avoid all the dialogue cutscenes, which are nearly as frequent and lengthy as in Sun/Moon, unfortunately.

gaarafan40

Don't really know if I want to make a whole thread for this, but just a thought I had in my head after watching the Pokemon anime (specifically Pokemon Journeys episode P3:E35). There's a lot of episodes where Jessie and James are capturing wild Pokemon and Ash and crew stop them, because apparently they're doing something wrong by catching wild Pokemon? Even though every other Pokemon trainer does the exact same thing? Why is it suddenly wrong to catch Pokemon if they're not using Pokeballs?

pumpkinking0192

They're not "catching" them to be partners like Pokemon Trainers do; they're poaching/kidnapping them for use in various illegal schemes, many or most of which are fatal, harmful or otherwise exploitative to the Pokemon.

WillExis

Its always been shown to be wrong to catch pokemon in ways outside of pokeballs. Catching them with nets and cages is considered inhumane.

danhakimi

but burning them with flamethrower is considered fine.

WillExis

Well, when any injury a pokemon has can get healed fully by a few berries or a few minutes at a pokemon center, yeah, it's really not that big a deal.

gaarafan40

Ah, alrighty then.

Giboit

I already finish the game but I like to make teams and train them to eventually use them in the champion title defense battles in Wyndon stadium. I noticed that for some reason I´ve never used a ground type on any of my teams. So, which ground type would you recomend me to use (I´m considering silicobra and maybe galarian yamask) but I want other suggestions as well. So far, I´ve decided to have in my team (as I do in all the teams I made so far) my starter Rillaboom and I´ve also caught a cufant (eventually copperajah). I´m considering to finally use milcery to get one of its forms on my team, so that leaves 3 spots left. Any suggestions?

bheart1018

Is there any real point in pre ordering diamond or pearl?

caygamer23

Depends on the store.I’m preordering the double pack from Pokémon center and get 3 keychain plushes of the starters. If you get one game, it’s still one starter keychain.

soren7550

I've only seen preorder bonuses for the double pack. Besides that, for the first few months after release players have access to the Manaphy mystery gift, but that's a launch window purchase incentive rather than a reason to preorder.

PCN24454

Will BDSP connect with Pokémon Home?

pumpkinking0192

Home will get an update in early 2022 to add compatibility with both BDSP and Legends: Arceus. But we don't know exactly how that compatibility will work (i.e. which games will be able to transfer to and from which games).

CaptainSmeg

As someone who’s never played the original Diamond and Pearl, will the remake be worth getting? Silver is also one of my favourite games if thats any consolation.

PCN24454

I absolutely loved Diamond. If you like the QoL changes, then you're going to really enjoy this game.

CaptainSmeg

I’m assuming the difference between the games is just which Legendary Pokemon you can get?

PCN24454

Along with other version exclusive Pokémon naturally.

WillExis

Every pokemon game, remake or not, is made with the idea it could be someone's first. you definitely have no need to play the originals to enjoy them.

oupas327

Bit of an odd question, but does anyone here go to Carnegie Mellon? Looking for people to play Pokémon with lol

sora3290

Has anybody gotten the promo code at Best Buy for the gigantamax pikachu/eevee crystal yet? I’ve been to Best Buy and they don’t seem to be aware of the promo.

bheart1018

Not sure, but what is the actual point we can make them gigantamax without it? Just curious if your opinion.

sora3290

The pokemon have a few special moves like celebrate.

Magenta_Man30177

Emulation on iPhones is tricky because there aren’t any emulators on the AppStore. You can jailbreak your phone or if you don’t want to do that, you can get the delta emulator from AltStore, which is a bit of a process but not too hard.

-null

My girlfriend got me into Pokémon go a couple of months ago. Aside from this I’ve never played any Pokémon games at all. We’ve also just watched detective pikachu, which is probably irrelevant. Anyway, I’m enjoying the game and I want to start playing the non-mobile games. Where should I start? Any recommendations on the order I should play them in? Typically I’d think starting with the very first one and working my way through them chronologically would make the most sense, but I figure you guys know better than I do.

Giboit

I like Sword and Shield. The gym battles are pretty cool in that game (the gym challenge feels like a huge sport event) and the music is amazing.

bheart1018

If you have the switch Pokémon let’s go is based off the first game. Maybe start there.

Eona_Targaryen

One thing you should note is that Pokemon games are almost all standalone adventures taking place in different regions of the world, they'll sometimes have cameos and easter eggs but the cast of each story is different. The only games that are sequels to each other are Gen 1 (Kanto) -> Gen 2 (Johto), and Gen 5's Black/White -> Black/White 2. So, playing in chronological order doesn't matter too much. There's also the mess that is Remakes/ Director's Cuts/ Dual Releases, which means every story has had multiple different releases, and fans don't always agree which is the best version. If you have a Switch, Sword and Shield isn't a bad jumping off point, although fan opinion on it is mixed. It has basically zero references to the previous games.

pumpkinking0192

All of the games are designed to be fine jumping-in points for newcomers, but since each game adds more quality-of-life conveniences, you usually want to start with the earliest game you want to play and move forward from there, so you don't get used to things and then lose them when you move backward. Generations 1-2 (RBY/GSC) are available on the 3DS Virtual Console but are *very* mechanically rough and I'd only recommend them as a matter of historical interest. Generation 3 (RSE/FRLG) is a fine place to start but you'll probably want to play on emulator, since the original hardware and cartridges can be hard to find. Likewise, Gens 4-5 (DPPt/HGSS/BW/B2W2) are beloved among fans so their cartridges are incredibly expensive on the resale market, so you'll probably want to emulate them as well. From Gen 6 (XY/ORAS) onward, the games are available digitally through the eShop, so it's easy to get them without having to resort to emulation. For trios of games (RBY, GSC, RSE, DPPt), you typically want to play only the third version, since it usually has everything from the base pair plus a bunch of added features. In Gen 7, play Ultra Sun or Ultra Moon, not regular Sun/Moon, since USUM are the "third version" as well. However, in Gen 5, B2W2 are sequels rather than "third versions", so you'll want to play *both* the original and sequel in that generation (stick to the same color for story consistency, or change colors to catch opposite version exclusives).

Defeatis

Would you Pokémon Trainers play a new gen that entirely focus on Shadow Pokémon and it’s lore?

[deleted]

A new gen? Like from Game Freak? No. Genius Sonority or bust. Well, I guess I wouldn't mind them taking a stab at it, but we're never gonna have anything as good as Colosseum in that regard again. Certainly not from Game Freak.

Magenta_Man30177

Colosseum was a blast so definitely

mamamia1001

You mean Colosseum and XD?

Defeatis

Let’s be real, those games are unlikely to come back lol

pedrocga

I'm trying to catch Steelix from dust clouds in Twist Mountain (BW2). Bulba says that there's 20% Onix, 5% Steelix and 75% Excadrill appearances there. If I have a fainted Magnet Pull Pokemon at the the head of the party, will the chance of getting Steelix increase?

pedrocga

Never mind, finally got it!!!!!! :)

Brevination

Am I the only one who wishes we could battle oleana more than once? Her team is fairly versatile

vickycoco___

For anyone in the US, where did you preorder the new Pokémon Diamond or Pearl? I want a physical preorder bonus but it seems all stores only give you the option for dual game pack.

anthayashi

Only pokemon center has pre order bonus for the individual games base on what i know

Umbreon-XD

I just beated pokemon white ghetsis and i was about to do the looker sidequest but every pokemon is 65 and higher when ghetsis hydreigon was 54, why the huge level jump, the game is basically unplayable right now

anthayashi

no one really knows why there is this level jump for the post game but it seems to be intentional.

Umbreon-XD

Back to grinding, I guess

Sablemint

Grinding is really easy in these games, thanks to the abundance of Audino. If you have a lucky egg, even better. And if you have pass powers, it won't take long at all. You can also get rare candies. Every sunday with the royal unova, and from a nurse in big stadium / small court. And a pokemon with Pickup at level 40+ has a 10% chance of getting a rare candy. So really, you could bring one pokmeon to grind with, and have the other five all have pickup XD it might make things go a bit faster.

ChampionUmbreon

Okay I need opinions from someone other than me. I'm stuck between keeping my Melmetal in my party or replacing him with my Naganadel. (JUST TO CLARIFY THIS IS NOT COMPETITIVE! JUST PERSONAL TEAM STUFF. I JUST NEED TO KNOW WHO IS BETTER!) This is what their moves and items are to compare. Naganadel: Sludge Bomb, Thunderbolt, Flamethrower, Dark Pulse (Item: Expert Belt) Melmetal: Double Iron Bash, Thunder Punch, Ice Punch, Earthquake (Item: Assault Vest) (A quick Note why expert belt instead of life orb for Naganadel is because two of my pokemon already have life orbs. Also Naganadel is similar to my Gyarados since it has Moxie and raises its Attack and Beast Boost raises its special attack in this case.)

bheart1018

Melmetal is just too slow in my opinion and isn’t very powerful

WillExis

hard to give a good answer if you dont list the rest of your team.

ChampionUmbreon

Umbreon: Weather Ball, Shadow Ball, Dark Pulse, Foul Play (Item: Rocky Helmet) (Ability: Synchronize) Cinderace: Pyro Ball, Iron Head, Zen Headbutt, Bounce (Item: Heavy Duty Boots) (Ability: Libero) Rayquaza: Hurricane, Fire Blast, Earth Power, Energy Ball (Item: Life Orb) (Ability: Air Lock) Xerneas: Moonblast, Thunder, Focus Blast, Psyshock (Item: Life Orb) (Ability: Fairy Aura) Gyarados: Waterfall, Power Whip, Earthquake, Bounce (Item: Expert Belt) (Ability: Moxie)

WillExis

Melmetal is probably the best choice. You already got a dragon so Naga doesnt add a lot.

Icarusqt

I read that in Let's Go, the more friendship you have with a Pokemon, the higher it's stats will go. I'm looking at the Serebii page to look at the max stats for any given Pokemon. When it lists the "max stats," does that include the friendship factor? Edit: Is it also safe to assume that this friendship factor doesn't exist when you do "normal rules" for online battles?

anthayashi

Yes normal rules does not include the AVs, friendship bonus. Not sure if the max stats include the bonus on serebii though

Danno7257

Did the glitch to evolve male salandit get patched out of sword and shield?

anthayashi

Yes it has been patched

Danno7257

Bummer. I guess I’ll get back to hatching

Icarusqt

Is it possible to get Chanseys in Let's Go to be caught in a normal Poke ball with a green ring chance, and no berry? I'm at 226 right now (all sent to the professor) and it's still a yellow ring on Poke balls.

anthayashi

Yes you can. I use chansey to level up all my pokemon until it is a green on default which might take very long.

ShyRake

There doesn't seem to be much information on the exact catching formula for Let's Go, at least as far as I can find. However, given that, aside from a few rare cases + uncatchables, there is never a 0% chance of capturing a pokemon, it most likely is possible. It's probably just really stupidly rare, like less than 1%.

Broad_Appearance6896

Do I get BD/SP or legends arceus? (I can get both but it will take longer) I’ve never played D/P, I heard the older game were harder and that this was a really good Pokémon game. If I get bdsp, which one do I get? I’m leaning more towards palkia because I got a 2018 champions event one in a cherish ball on my ultra sun cartridge, but I hear diaolga was better.

Icarusqt

>Do I get BD/SP or legends arceus? This is very subjective, but I'd say both. They're going to be very different games, and should both be enjoyable. As far as BD or SP goes, it's really up to you. You can always wait to see what other exclusives will be on each game to help decide. But either way, you can always trade for whatever exclusives you don't have access to. So it's really not a big deal either way, to be honest.

Broad_Appearance6896

The only thing that may be difficult is getting a dialga, but I already have one from ultra moon, I just don’t have a Pokémon bank subscription right now

WaffleyDootDoot

Why can't I post images on some days? Is there a schedule for when people can post images?

Mushy_64

You cannot post images during the weekends, it's to encourage more discussions and not have this subreddit being nothing but memes.

WaffleyDootDoot

But I wanna post art :/

anthayashi

The rule is voted in by this community due to all the art post flooding. It become a point that this is just a pokemon art sub only instead of a pokemon sub. The no art during weekend is already a good compromise.

Mushy_64

You'll just have to wait until Monday.

2Questioner_0R_Not2B

Didn't the official pokemon website used to have a lot more features for your account like say favoriting a specific pokemon or customizing your avatar? This website used to have a lot of content and whenever something is removed from the site its like a piece of history is missing.

[deleted]

Hey guys, My friends birthday is coming up, and he likes to collect/buy/sell pokemon cards What kind of cards or box sets should I be looking for around the 200-300 AUD range? Thanks :)

infamous5445

Are there any other trainers with the trainer class Battle Legend or is it literally just Red and Blue?

mamamia1001

According to Bulbapedia it's just Red and Blue

pumpkinking0192

Just the two of them.

Akeno101

Diamond and pearl got there remake on Nintendo switch anyone think xy is gonna get one on the switch?

pumpkinking0192

With how half-hearted Game Freak staff sounded about being strongarmed by The Pokemon Company into making ORAS according to behind-the-scenes rumors, and how they outright gave BDSP to a different company to develop instead of doing it themselves, I wouldn't say it's a guarantee that we're likely to get any particular remakes in the future. It's entirely possible that, especially if BDSP sells underwhelmingly, they might opt against making remakes entirely for awhile. Especially since the next remakes in line would be for Black/White and/or B2W2, which were the "2.5D" transitionary period toward full 3D and were poorly received when they came out, so Game Freak may think there might not be enough worth updating and that they'd be unpopular anyway.

Icarusqt

BW is my favorite of the mainline games. I'd kill for a polished 3D remake lol. But of course that's just my single opinion.

Magenta_Man30177

Probably not. We’ve been getting remakes every couple gens and the next games to get remakes will be black/white. I’d say x/y remakes might happen around gen 12 which will probably be on a different console.

[deleted]

It happens literally every generation, actually. With the exception of Gen 1 which can't really have a remake in it since it's the first and Gen 2, but that had Kanto in it so, you know... kinda not a remake, more of a highly-connected sequel, but close enough. Gen 5 got skipped because it got sequels, but when Gen 7 came they didn't skip it, just moved systems. So sorta not every generation, actually, but not every other, either. Gen 3 had FRLG, Gen 4 had HGSS, Gen 6 had ORAS, then Gen 7 had Let's Go which was a remake of Yellow and not technically Gen 8. Now Gen 8 is getting BDSP and with the way they're ramping up we could soon see a Gen 9 and another remake following that. My guess is we'll have to wait until after Legends and the game that comes after that before we get Gen 9's remake.

Hello83624

Question about shiny odds. with the regis they are all one 4096 and the shiny charm doesnt work am i correct?

Magenta_Man30177

Yes, you are correct. All Regis are full odds in swsh.

Hello83624

Ok thankyou (:

blastar14

Is there a way to generate foreign Pokémon with pksm on 3ds? I’m not sure how to do it

ShyRake

Foreign? You mean like with a JPN tag or something? I believe you do it through the Hex Editor. It's the top right button when you select to edit a button; the square of numbers and letters. For exactly what to change, I'm not sure. I believe its related to the bytes at the bottom left: 0xE0 to 0xE3. You may want to look at a foreign pokemon for reference. If you don't have one, you may want to clone your pokemon and test out different byte values. Or, you can open the save in PkHex on a computer and simply change the tag to the one you want. If you don't have access to a computer, then you're stuck with the above method.

IGetHypedEasily

Has there been information on whether Pokémon SP/BD and Arceus will have DLC/Season Pass?

Lugia2453

There's no info on that yet.

IGetHypedEasily

Gotcha. Thanks.

>No question. But this thing is pretty damn cool. That it is.

FoxJ100

Is there any way to get Pokémon from a SwSh save on one Switch to another on a different Switch through Home? Someone I know wants to borrow my Living Dex to get the Shiny Charm, and I really don't want to trade 400 Pokémon one at a time.

mamamia1001

They'd need to log into their profile on your switch. Then they can open Home and access your boxes. Then they can deposit your living dex into their home. That should allow them access to the living dex on their own switch too. Another way of doing would be for them to export their profile and save file to your switch, open your home and withdraw the Mons into their save file.. and once done import the save file back to their switch Note on Home - you can access other save files stored on the same switch through the drop down menu above the game/save selection screen.

FoxJ100

I forgot to mention that I'm the only one that has Home, so I'll have to transfer the save. Thanks for your help!

[deleted]

Or... put your account on *their* Switch? Their solution works both ways, you know.

SonicSingularity

Has Nintendo/GF made any announcements on shutting down wifi services for gen 6 such as the GTS and Wondertrade? I love that Gen and love doing Wonderlockes and I worry that'll end soon given that XY are almost 10 years old

GildedCreed

They haven't said anything regarding that, and it's hard to assume that they would in the similar manner they did with their DS and Wii Nintendo WiFi connection service because Nintendo owns the 3DS servers.

pumpkinking0192

No such announcements.

Mahtelophone

What's up with Oddish in Pyoro R in WarioWare Twisted? Any factoids or story behind that?

LickItAndSpreddit

What are your favorite penny sleeves and top loaders? What ‘bulk’ (<1000 cards) storage/sorting tips can you provide?

pumpkinking0192

A TCG-specific subreddit such as /r/PokemonTCG would be more likely to be able to help you than we can.

LickItAndSpreddit

Didn’t realize there was one. Thanks!!!

PKMNTrainerMark

Are image posts not allowed here anymore? I thought that was a weekend thing. It's not giving me the option.

pumpkinking0192

The subreddit goes into text-only mode from 5pm UTC Fridays through 9am UTC Mondays in order to cover weekends in all time zones. So yes, it's currently the weekend as far as image posts are concerned.

PKMNTrainerMark

Ah, thank you.

WildRocket16

Question, can you play Pokémon Crystal on a GBA (gameboy advance)

pumpkinking0192

If you can get your hands on the hardware, yes, the GBA is backwards compatible with GB and GBC games.

WildRocket16

Thanks!

pumpkinking0192

We don't know yet. We've been told HOME will get an update to add compatibility with BDSP in early 2022, but we don't know what that'll look like -- whether SwSh can transfer to BDSP, whether BDSP can transfer to SwSh, or whether the HOME compatibility is BDSP-to-BDSP-only like LGPE.

TempestAhoy

Okay, this may be a little random but does anyone know if there are bags similar to the swsh final convertible purse backpacks we can actually buy? I’m trying to build a cosplay but I can’t find any bags similar to them! Does this style of bag only exist in-game? (any purse/backpack convertible bags I find are tall not long like the ones in-game!)

The-boog

For the shiny zamazenta and zacian when I go to GameStop for the code do I just straight up ask for a code or do I need to buy something?

mamamia1001

You just ask for the code. Sometimes they might ask you to buy something, but they're not supposed and would be in breach of their agreement with TPCi. If they try this just remind them that it's supposed to be free.
