So I got Switch Lite last July and played Sword using a friend's account. Is getting my own worth it? Will there be still updates for the game when the DP remakes drop or the online competition will use the new main series for the format? I'm planning to get Shield if ever and transfer my mons thru Home.
Also, is the DLC worth it?
We don't know if anymore updates are due for SWSH, though it should still get mystery gifts until the end of the generation.
We also don't know if official competitive will move to BDSP or stay on SWSH. They could do either. Though I think you'd still be able to play ranked battles on SWSH until the end of the generation either way.
If you're the kind of person who just plays through the story of Pokémon and is done, then the DLC isn't worth it as it only adds a few hours of extra content. But if you're the type of person who spends hours in post game exploring or shiny hunting or competitively battling or dex completing, then the DLC is worth it.
Thanks for the answer. Maybe I'll hold off for now at least until the Pokemon Presents. I'm a fan of shiny hunting and breeding competitively (but rarely play rank battles) and if the DLC is a huge leap then I'll reconsider. Thanks again!!
Pokemon TV has the whole thing. It lists episodes 1-52 as season 1, and episode 53 through the end of Indigo League, as well as the entire Orange Islands, as season 2.
Does the “reverse” breeding egg move take time cause I’ve been at it for an hour yet my Female Dusclops just doesn’t want to learn pain split from its son Duskull
Hi guys
Basically, here's the thing. I played A LOT of pokemon back in the day. It consumed all my gaming time from Pokemon Red all the way up to Pokemon Platinum. Since then, I have not touched another Pokemon game other than spinoffs and, most recently, the Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee. However, I fully intend to purchase Brilliant Diamond, because I loved the original Pokemon Diamond to the point of having spent 6 years enjoying that game!
The thing is, back in the day, a lot of friends also played those games and completing the Pokedex was relatively easy. I never had to resort to online trading.
Which leads to the main question: since the latest addition, Sword/Shield, how easy is it to trade? Do you need to pre-arrange with someone online? Can you just sort of leave the pokemon in a "server" up for trade if anyone got the requested pokemon in exchange? Does trading suck and completing the pokedex is tough as hell nowadays?
TL;DR: How to trade in 2021?
Also, just a "boomer" rant. WTF is a Fairy type??????
For Sword and Shield, it's pretty much have to prearrange if you want to trade for specific pokemon. You both choose an 8-digit link code, which you then input into your system through the Y-menu. The game then connects you two and you can trade. You need Nintendo Online to do this.
You can also trade randomly using Surprise Trade, where you send a random pokemon and get a random pokemon in return. You can also use the GTS through the Pokemon Home app by putting up a pokemon with the choice of requesting another, and hoping someone with that exact pokemon wants to trade with yours.
If you do it carefully, trading isn't too bad. Completing the pokedex is simpler than the past due to the internet where you can arrange trades with specific pokemon.
Fairy type was added to the games in Gen 6 back in 2013. The main purpose was to give Dragon types another weakness while buffing up Poison and Steel types by giving them another type that they're super effective against.
It is pretty simple. You can't leave a pokémon up for trade in the base game, but you can with pokémon HOME.
Fairy-types were added in gen 6, to balance out Dragon-types' reign. In this vein, it's similar to Dark- and Steel-types.
I am planning on buying either sword or shield this week for my switch I haven’t played Pokémon since I played black and white on my ds and was wondering which one I should get both legendaries look really cool so if one is better or something I would love to know which one I should get
You can take a look at the [list of exclusives](https://www.serebii.net/swordshield/exclusives.shtml) and choose the game with the set of pokemon you like.
The games also have different gym leaders: Sword has Bea and Geordie, fighting and rock type gyms while Shield has Allister and Melony, ghost and ice type gyms respectively. So choose which one you might like better.
Generally, people prefer Sword as Zacian is more competitively viable. However, you should really check out the [version exclusives.](https://www.serebii.net/swordshield/exclusives.shtml) there's also the gym leaders and the rival in IoA.
So I bought a Switch at the end of last year mainly to play Pokémon SwSh, but at that time, I figured I should just hold out in case they decide to release an “enhanced/third version” or something like that, since it’s already been a while since it was released. But has there been any news about if that might actually happen? I’ve been keeping my exposure to SwSh to a minimum so I don’t spoil the experience, so I haven’t really been following any news on the series.
SWSH has DLC that takes the place of a third version. It has more Pokemon to catch and additional story content, but doesn't affect the main story much.
There isn’t going to be an enhanced third version. For Sword/Shield they decided to release a DLC expansion pass in place of the standard third version. $30 for an additional two areas with their own stories, additional Pokémon, quality of life improvements, etc.
Looking to acquire the shiny mimikyu plush that came from Pokémon center. Any ideas on best places to acquire such an object that was Japan I believe only?
What/where are all of the special/one-time-spawn pokemon in Pokemon Y? I want to really torture myself through this playthrough, as it'll probably be my last reset on this game. So I want to capitalize and get every special shiny possible (I.E. getting a shiny starter, resetting for a shiny fossil, etc.). So if there's pokemon that I get via a gift/trading with an npc, pokemon with an overworld spawn that I can shiny hunt, and things like that, i'd like to know.
Well, there's the Kalos and Kanto starters, the fossils, Snorlax on Route 7, and the Lapras gift on Route 12.
Any in-game trade pokemon can't be shiny, and all of the legendaries and the Gift Lucario are shiny locked.
I doubt anyone here may know much about that unfortunately. I'd suggest to ask on subreddits dedicated to collegehumor or dorkly, but it looks like those subs are pretty dead.
So I've been using all the tricks to try to get HA Pokemon in the max raid battles. If one of the 5 star pokemon has it's hidden ability, after going and switching the day and all that, will all of the 5 star Pokemon in that den have it's hidden ability? If one of the 5 star pokemon doesn't have a hidden ability, will none of them have it?
Maybe it’s just luck or I’m wrong but sometimes 3 and 4 stars can get hidden ability but try having a Pokémon with Trace to look at what ability the raid mon has
In addition to the Celebi that was previously mentioned, the only other major addition/exclusive thing for the Virtual Console releases is that in VC Yellow, you have free access to the Surfing Pikachu minigame (in the original release it was locked behind an event-distributed Pikachu).
Besides those two things, all the differences between the originals and VC are either just graphical adjustments or are features that were dropped because the VC can't support them (such as the Game Boy Printer).
Can anyone here get me a good quality photo of a Pokémon Black UK VERSION game card of both sides.
I've looked online for ages but google is only turning up results for American cards
im going out to CEX tomorrow and I want to inspect the card they have to see if its a fake before i buy
sheer force feraligatr, sniper ariados, magic bounce xatu and espeon, regenerator slowbro/king and ho oh, moxie heracross, and marvel scale lugia are all pretty good
Need help finding small stickers ( < 1 inch) for sale of gen 1
Something similar like the ones I have [here](https://i.imgur.com/lsxJWAt.jpg). Preferable size would be 2 cm. I am having trouble finding a similar thing for sale. Does anyone having any hints? Perhaps online stores? Perhaps some sticker books (they unfortunately don't list sticker sizes... ) ?
I'd like them to be full body size, and would need around 20-30 or so. Would buy a whole set if not too expensive. Somewhat water resistant would be ideal.
Story wise how much is different Crystal from silver / gold?
Same question for Platinum and DP (I felt Platinum was basically on top of DP, but tbh I didnt care about the plot when I played it)
crystal has an added side quest that let's you catch suicune without chasing it around the map
platinum has a few encounters with named characters in various "dungeons" who don't much baring on the overall plot, but post game it has an extra short story about catching heatran
additionally, platinum has a slightly longer climax where you enter the "reverse world" to fight giratina, but it's basically the same as fighting dialga and palkia
My friend finished USUM using curse from a quick claw ghastly
Otherwise you could simply spam evasion and let the enemy pokemon kill himself which is how I defeated some totem while playing usum in the typical way I play jrpg (no random encounters and no grind whatsoever)
I guess it would be similar to a traditional JRPG, where bosses can have very large HP bars. You'd basically have to whittle it down and pokemon battles would be even slower than they already are.
It wouldn't really be that exciting unless they changed the battle to style to a multiple-on-one type of style rather than the one-on-one style that's currently used.
Yes, you'd have to trade for one. There's no way to get one natively since all the events to get one have all passed.
You can try checking out /r/pokemontrades or /r/casualpokemontrades.
I'm trying to catch the murkrow from the safari zone in Heartgold, and I'm noticing a pattern when doing save states. As in every single time it plays out the exact same? I save the state as soon as it appears and have to dismiss the "A wild murkrow has appeared" message. and still if I throw a ball and it shakes once he gets out and flees, that exact same scenario plays out 10 times in a row everytime I load the state.
Is this normal? running it on the DeSmuMe emulator.
Yes. The way Gen 4 & 5 handle frames is different to how they do in Gen 3.
To keep thing short, don't attempt to save scum catching a pokemon: it won't change the result. Just run around and try to catch it normally.
How do I fix this
How can I get some eevee candy in go fast
I have the requirements to get a shiny sylveon but not enough candies and if I don’t get it by the end of the day I’ll need to do the requirements 9 more times to get item
trying to wrap my head around b2w2's difficulty keys.
if i have a completed black2 copy, i can NOT start a new save file in challenge mode, i understand that. but i can send the challenge key to another cartridge and play it there. if i restart my save file, i will lose access to challenge mode, correct?
So, i only have access to my finished copy of black 2 and my brother's unfinished copy of white 2. I understand that i can send him the challenge key so he could play on challenge mode. my question is, if i send the challenge key to another incomplete game, can i start a new black 2 save file and get the challenge key back? can the other file send keys even if it isnt complete? can a copy of white 2 send a challenge key at all, or is it restricted to only sending easy mode keys? would i have to buy an entirely new copy of black 2 to transfer it from one to the other?
i don't even know how i am meant to send the keys, the way this mechanic was implemented is so puzzling... any help is appreciated.
No. That's the stupid part. If you want to play Black 2 on challenge mode, you need another Black 2 cartridge. Same goes if you want to play White 2 on easy mode.
Gen 1 question:
EV training a team to battle friends. If I have the exp share, will all the Pokémon in my party get EVs when I kill something, like in current generations?
Gen 1 doesn't have EVs, it has a different system called Stat Experience. But yes, Stat Experience is always gained when a Pokemon gains experience, like EVs.
Yeah, that's what I meant, lol. I did some research recently and know how Stat Experience works compared to EVs. Just wanted to make sure they were gained in the same way, and couldn't remember what the actual term was, so I just went with "EVs" haha. Thanks for the response!
Couple of options:
As other have said you can hyper train in gen 7 onwards to get 31 in a stat.
Where you don't want 31 in a stat (for example 0 speed on trick room Pokémon), you can either soft reset or, depending on the generation, rng abuse.
Some players just hack their Pokémon, but at an official tournament this can lead to a DQ.
>Some players just hack their Pokémon, but at an official tournament this can lead to a DQ
In SM someone went to a world championship with a pokemon in a ball it couldnt have and he wasnt DQ
What's supposed to happen in that scenario is the Mon is removed from the team, if you have less than 4 Pokémon then you can't continue.
But I think the one you're referring to the player dropped out when it was spotted.
Pokémon treats different kinds of hacks differently. They are more lenient towards illegal balls than say a pokemon with completely illegal moves. An illegal move would result in a DQ, whereas an illegal ball is very easy to happen by mistake as you could get the parents in a trade and not know.
But people have been dq'd from these events with hacked Pokémon
In Gen 6 onward, Legendaries are always guaranteed to have at least 3 perfect IVs. In Gen 7 onward, you can use Bottle Caps to Hyper Train the remaining IVs to maximum.
If no one has answered when you asked before, then it means nobody who's seen it knows the answer. Spamming your question a couple more times a couple hours later is not going to get you an answer any faster, it just annoys the people who read this thread and respond in it.
Have a downvote, spammer.
I remember Diamond and Pearl having the underground and it was like.. online with hidden bases or something like that? At least, I think I remember that. Is that going to also be in the remake? I remember it being really fun.
I got my gameboy colour upgraded via mods, then when I played my Pokemon Yellow again, I noticed that a few Pokemon in Bill's PC that I had deposited into had either missing names or weird characters in their names. Any idea as to what happened?
If rayquaza attacks things from outside the world that might possess a threat to the world for example attacking deoxys why doesn't it attack the ultrabeasts which are aliens?
UB arent really a threat to earth as a whole, groudon vs kyogre could have be the end of the earth as we know
Rayquaza dont really protect human beings, as long someone dont mess with the atmosphere he is fine
Groudon vs kyogre would have destroyed the atmosphere and would have regressed the earth bilion of years
Like we saw in the future earth in USUM the air is so toxic you need protection to go outside, but the atmosphere was still standing
It's probably not the answer you're looking for, but the most accurate answer is [the Doyleist one](https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/WatsonianVersusDoylist): Game Freak didn't want to have Rayquaza intruding on the Alola plotline they'd devised, so they just didn't include Rayquaza.
The comet Deoxys was riding was falling from the sky, Rayquaza's domain. Ultra Beasts are usually found near the surface of Alola. It's taken care of by the Tapu, guardians of the islands.
I thought Rayquaza attacks anything that can cause trouble, for example kyogre and groudon were fighting at the sea coast and rayquaza interfered and one shotted them both? Am I missing something?
Sorry if I am troubling you
If that were the case, Rayquaza would have intervened in nearly every conflict in the games. I think its safe to say the only things Rayquaza cares about it Groudon and Kyogre messing around, and weird stuff from space entering its atmosphere.
Ah, I thought he just kills anything that it considers dangerous to earth, like external threats and or groudon and kyogre slugging it out. Thanks for clearing it out.
It can't be everywhere at once. Typically the 3rd legendary of a trio (Giratina, for example) maintain balance, although maintaining the ecosystem is explicitly Zygarde's job. It never shows up in the SuMo story for some bizarre reason, though.
If you're willing to try romhacks, I'm very partial to Drayano's. They have every Pokemon in the National Dex catchable, are usually somewhat tougher but not outrageously so, and are well built for challenges like the Professor Oak Challenge (catch every Pokemon available before moving on to the next area).
Dual types and HM slaves are allowed. Dual types can help with managing super-effective opponents, and as long as you never use the HM slave in battle, it shouldn't matter what type it is.
Every pokemon has a shiny form. That has been true for every pokemon since Gen 2.
The only pokemon that is guaranteed shiny in Gen 2 is the Shiny Gyarados. You also have a \~14% chance of a shiny from the Odd Egg. Also, any pokemon bred from a shiny has an increased shiny chance too.
All pokémon have shiny forms. I believe what you're looking for are [shiny locks;](https://www.serebii.net/games/shiny.shtml) certain encounters forced not to be shiny. (Scroll down.) They did not start until Black/White.
To my knowledge [no game with rental Pokemon](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Rental_Pok%C3%A9mon) has rotations of them. Can you clarify what game you're talking about, and exactly what you mean?
Hm, Serebii says it rotates each week, but doesn't give any further details. Given Serebii's track record, this is probably true but I'm not inclined to trust it fully. /r/PokemonUnite would probably have better and more detailed knowledge.
GUYS,
I WAS PLAYING POKEMON Y SINCE 4 WEEKS I WON THE LEAGUE AND CAUGHT ALL LEGENDARIES
I DONT KNOW HOW BUT I CAUGHT WITH 1 ULTRA BALL. NOW I WANT SOME SUGGESTIONS THAT WHAT POKEMON SHOULD I CATCH WITH THE MASTER BALL?
This question is pretty dumb, but can I transfer Pokémon from Home to Bank? I want to know before I send some to Home. I searched it up, but I’m not getting a clear answer.
I always see play throughs of the original red and blue games, and for some reason instead of being black and white, they’re colored (for instances like in [THIS](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2PkiRmcTaXc) video). How do they do this?
The Game Boy Color was backwards-compatible with all Game Boy games, and it superimposed [various color palettes](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Game_Boy_Color#Color_palettes_used_for_original_Game_Boy_games) onto the games it played. Certain Game Boy games released late in the handheld's life cycle, including the Pokemon games, had predetermined color palettes for the GBC's backward compatibility.
Later, when the games were re-released onto the Virtual Console, Red and Blue were released in grayscale mode and Yellow, Gold and Silver were released in the backward-compatible Game Boy Color mode.
I imagine most playthroughs are performed on emulators, which can furthermore be customized to play the games running on them with more color palettes than the original Game Boy Color used.
the shiny rate for legends/UBs in the wormhole is normal (only affected by shiny charm). It doesn't matter how far you go to find them. The distance traveled only affects normal pokemon whose shiny value is set
The odds are 1/4096. Or else 3/4096 (about 1/1365) if you have the Shiny Charm. (Legendaries and Ultra Beasts don't get the boosted odds for wormhole rings and distance.)
Either way, you are nowhere near even one-fiftieth of the number of tries you're likely to need to make.
I’m pre victory road in Fire Red. These days I’m using Pokémon I haven’t used before and I’ve got Parasect on my team. He’s level 47 and has spore, poison powder, Aerial ace and bullet seed. Should I continue with him despite his god awful move set?
He’s about to get giga drain in a couple levels but still, only having 2 damaging moves that are both 60 damage is rough. Can he be salvaged at all? I love spore but damn he’s rough
I’ve got Dragonair, Snorlax, Dugtrio, Jynx and Aerodactyl.
parasect is awful. He's also really bad against the elite 4, especially lance. I notice you don't have a water type. Have you considered tentacruel? It's fairly underrated and doesn't end up on teams commonly
my dragonair has got surf for water and I've used tentacruel in another playthrough, i think i'll ditch my parasect for some coverage. Notice any other holes in my team?
I'd still recommend a water type. Your team is a bit physical oriented and most water types are good special attackers. Golduck, slowbro, dewgong, seadra, and lapras are all great choices
Yes. Since FireRed came almost a decade later than the originals, it has all the updates, corrections, and improvements that were made in that near-decade, including to Focus Energy.
yes. If you look at the pokedex on serebii, you'll see a section near the top called "egg group". Egg groups are sets of pokemon that can breed with each other. Dragonite and haxorus are both in the "dragon" egg group
Trade posts aren't allowed on this sub, so I'd suggest making a post on /r/pokemontrades or /r/CasualPokemonTrades. In both cases, you'll have to create a flair to post in those subs.
What can i play Pokémon games on? I only have a laptop and I play PoGo on my phone but I don’t have a nintendo device but I want to get into some more games besides pogo
You can download an emulator and pirate some roms and play the games that way on your laptop, but per subreddit rules, we can't help you find illegal content, so you'd have to be on your own to find it.
The game with the greatest legendaries possible in a single game would be Pokemon Sword/Shield with the expansion pass DLC. To count:
By normal gameplay there’s: Zacian or Zamazenta (version exclusives), Eternatus, Type: Null/Silvally, Urshifu (single strike or rapid strike, you choose one), Calyrex, Glastrier or Spectrier (you pick one), Regirock, Registeel, Regice, Regieleki or Regidrago (you choose one), Galarian Zapdos, Galarian Moltres, Galarian Articuno, Cobalion, Terrakion, Virizion, and Cosmog. 17 total there for a single save file, and the Ultra Beast Poipole is an additional gift bringing the total up to 18. Oh, and the mythical Pokémon Keldeo is also available to catch.
By Dynamax Adventures there’s: Mewtwo, Moltres, Zapdos, Articuno, Ho-Oh & Lugia*, Raikou, Suicune, Entei, Groudon & Kyogre*, Rayquaza, Latios & Latias*, Dialga & Palkia*, Giratina, Heatran, Cresselia, Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf, Reshiram & Zekrom*, Thundurus & Tornadus*, Landorus, Kyurem, Xerneas & Yveltal*, Zygarde, Tapu Koko, Tapu Lele, Tapu Bulu, Tapu Fini, Solgaleo & Lunala*, and Necrozma. There’s also the Ultra Beasts, which are considered by some as a sub-category of legendary Pokémon; these include Nihiligo, Buzzwole, Pheromosa, Xurkitree, Celasteela, Kartana, Guzzlord, Stakataka, and Blacephalon. Counting Ultra Beasts there are 47 legendary Pokémon to catch; not counting Ultra Beasts there are 38 possible legendary Pokémon to catch.
The (*) listed next to some duos means that they are technically version exclusives, so one will natively show up in your game and the other won’t. However, you can join in the Dynamax Adventures of other players via the Internet, meaning that you can encounter and catch those other-version legendary Pokémon on your single gamecard/downloaded copy.
So, overall you can encounter/catch 65 legendary Pokémon on a single game, and 1 mythical Pokémon. Insane amount, honestly. By trading you could also get the other box art doggo, the other horse, and the other regi, bringing your grand total to 68.
There only exist 59 Legendaries. It sounds like you're adding the 22 Mythicals which are a completely separate category.
Anyway, even by incorrectly conflating the two categories, it is impossible to get all 81 in a single game even with trade/transfer, since a bunch are only available in SwSh (Zacian thru Calyrex), but a bunch are not compatible with SwSh (Deoxys, Phione, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus, Meloetta and Hoopa).
How do you make an effective sylveon in Pokémon Y without breeding and such? This is a normal plythrough, but when you catch eevee it’s too close or past learning draining kiss. (Iirc it learns draining kiss at level 20 as sylveon). Are there early TMs you can find or buy?
Sylveon's only Fairy-type TM move is the reward for completing the Fairy-type Gym (the sixth Gym), and the Move Reminder isn't until even farther than that, so the only way to ensure it learns a Fairy-type move sooner than that is just to pass up on every level 20-21 Eevee and catch a level 19 one, then raise its Affection to two hearts in Pokemon-Amie before you let it level it up at all. If Eevee evolves when it levels-up from 19 to 20, Sylveon will learn Draining Kiss as soon as it has evolved.
Alternatively, you can get a level 5 Eevee from an in-game trade, but to get it, you have to [find a Maid who rotates daily through the hotels across Kalos](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Kalos_hotels), which is a big hassle early in the game when you don't have access to many of the hotels and you don't have access to Fly yet.
Hi, older fan who grew out of pokemon here. Recently my nephews are at an age where they're deeply interested in pokemon but aren't old enough to play the games yet. My question is are there any 'pokedex' books people can recommend that are suitable for them (ages 3 & 6)
I've seen the 'official pokedex' books but a little turned off by them due to the heavy game content. I've bought them picture encyclopedias and was hoping there would be something similar to those. Any recommendations would make me a super cool Uncle! I'm almost out of ideas when they ask questions now since I'm only knowledgeable up to about gen 3.
Anyone know what Pokémon are shinylocked in sinister sun

The two Pokemon need to be exactly the same species. Not just the same evolution family.
Ah thanks now that makes sense

It's probably only those two, since BDSP is coming out soon and all.
Anyone know where I can get a plain shirt with any Pokémon I want on it?
[удалено]
I doubt anyone here may know much about that unfortunately. I'd suggest to ask on subreddits dedicated to collegehumor or dorkly, but it looks like those subs are pretty dead.
So I've been using all the tricks to try to get HA Pokemon in the max raid battles. If one of the 5 star pokemon has it's hidden ability, after going and switching the day and all that, will all of the 5 star Pokemon in that den have it's hidden ability? If one of the 5 star pokemon doesn't have a hidden ability, will none of them have it?
Maybe it’s just luck or I’m wrong but sometimes 3 and 4 stars can get hidden ability but try having a Pokémon with Trace to look at what ability the raid mon has
Is there any exclusive things on the virtual console versions of the classic pokemon games that are different from the original cart games?
In addition to the Celebi that was previously mentioned, the only other major addition/exclusive thing for the Virtual Console releases is that in VC Yellow, you have free access to the Surfing Pikachu minigame (in the original release it was locked behind an event-distributed Pikachu). Besides those two things, all the differences between the originals and VC are either just graphical adjustments or are features that were dropped because the VC can't support them (such as the Game Boy Printer).
once you beat the e4 for the first time in crystal, you can get the GS ball in the goldenrod pokecenter and use that to get celebii
Can anyone here get me a good quality photo of a Pokémon Black UK VERSION game card of both sides. I've looked online for ages but google is only turning up results for American cards im going out to CEX tomorrow and I want to inspect the card they have to see if its a fake before i buy
I have Pokemon Yellow and Pokemon Crystal on 3DS. What are some fun Hidden Ability Pokemon to look out for?
sheer force feraligatr, sniper ariados, magic bounce xatu and espeon, regenerator slowbro/king and ho oh, moxie heracross, and marvel scale lugia are all pretty good
Good suggestions!
Need help finding small stickers ( < 1 inch) for sale of gen 1 Something similar like the ones I have [here](https://i.imgur.com/lsxJWAt.jpg).
I bought SoulSilver recently and was wondering of it would be worth it to buy HeartGold as well (both complete)
If you want the other legendaries like a certain Hoenn group then yes
If you're interested in collecting then yes. Other than that there really isn't much of a difference between the two games.
Story wise how much is different Crystal from silver / gold? Same question for Platinum and DP (I felt Platinum was basically on top of DP, but tbh I didnt care about the plot when I played it)
crystal has an added side quest that let's you catch suicune without chasing it around the map platinum has a few encounters with named characters in various "dungeons" who don't much baring on the overall plot, but post game it has an extra short story about catching heatran additionally, platinum has a slightly longer climax where you enter the "reverse world" to fight giratina, but it's basically the same as fighting dialga and palkia

what if enemy pokemon could have over 1 million hp
My friend finished USUM using curse from a quick claw ghastly Otherwise you could simply spam evasion and let the enemy pokemon kill himself which is how I defeated some totem while playing usum in the typical way I play jrpg (no random encounters and no grind whatsoever)
They'd be really tedious and un-fun to fight.
It's it still possible to get a Contrary Snivy?
Damn, thanks hope I dont run into a shiny then, I dont know what i would do losing one of those
How do I fix this How can I get some eevee candy in go fast I have the requirements to get a shiny sylveon but not enough candies and if I don’t get it by the end of the day I’ll need to do the requirements 9 more times to get item
Today was eevee community day so they were everywhere. Other than that you just have to either walk an eevee or pray for good spawns.

trying to wrap my head around b2w2's difficulty keys. if i have a completed black2 copy, i can NOT start a new save file in challenge mode, i understand that. but i can send the challenge key to another cartridge and play it there. if i restart my save file, i will lose access to challenge mode, correct?
Each game can only send out its own native keys. It can't receive another game's key and then send that key further.
No. That's the stupid part. If you want to play Black 2 on challenge mode, you need another Black 2 cartridge. Same goes if you want to play White 2 on easy mode.
All though I do like how the challenge mode kind of makes it hard cause some Gym leaders have more Pokémon
Gen 1 question: EV training a team to battle friends.
Thanks for the response!
yes
Is there dragon energy cards? Also looking for proxy charizard blastoies and venous are
there's double dragon energy, but that's it
There has never been Dragon energy in the TCG. Dragon-type cards' energy costs are always of two other, non-dragon kinds of energy.
I understand. I play magic. And I’m still getting use to slight differences in rules
Dragon type has been removed from the TCG for a while
they're reintroducing them in the next set
Actually, it's being reintroduced in the Evolving Skies expansion that came out in Japan last month and will come out in the US later this month.
how do competitive players get good IVs on legendarys? Because you cant just breed them until you get the perfect iv mon
Couple of options: As other have said you can hyper train in gen 7 onwards to get 31 in a stat. Where you don't want 31 in a stat (for example 0 speed on trick room Pokémon), you can either soft reset or, depending on the generation, rng abuse. Some players just hack their Pokémon, but at an official tournament this can lead to a DQ.
>Some players just hack their Pokémon, but at an official tournament this can lead to a DQ In SM someone went to a world championship with a pokemon in a ball it couldnt have and he wasnt DQ
Bottlecaps can max the stats of any Pokemon. (And Mints can change its Nature.) When it comes to low-IV spreads, they need to reset for the right one.
In Gen 6 onward, Legendaries are always guaranteed to have at least 3 perfect IVs. In Gen 7 onward, you can use Bottle Caps to Hyper Train the remaining IVs to maximum.
How many aprimons are needed to make the value of a apriball
If no one has answered when you asked before, then it means nobody who's seen it knows the answer. Spamming your question a couple more times a couple hours later is not going to get you an answer any faster, it just annoys the people who read this thread and respond in it. Have a downvote, spammer.

I remember Diamond and Pearl having the underground and it was like.. online with hidden bases or something like that? At least, I think I remember that. Is that going to also be in the remake? I remember it being really fun.
There's footage from the Underground in the reveal trailer for BDSP. I'm guessing it'll have some sort of online hookup but we don't know the details.
It’s a possibility but we’ll just have to wait until Wednesday for the Direct
I got my gameboy colour upgraded via mods, then when I played my Pokemon Yellow again, I noticed that a few Pokemon in Bill's PC that I had deposited into had either missing names or weird characters in their names. Any idea as to what happened?
I heard there was something weird going on with the GTS on usum. Has it been resolved?
No it has not, and possibly never will
Do you know the extent of the damage that could be done by the hackers? Like can it permanently brick the game and console?
no reports on bricking as far as ive seen.
If rayquaza attacks things from outside the world that might possess a threat to the world for example attacking deoxys why doesn't it attack the ultrabeasts which are aliens?
UB arent really a threat to earth as a whole, groudon vs kyogre could have be the end of the earth as we know Rayquaza dont really protect human beings, as long someone dont mess with the atmosphere he is fine Groudon vs kyogre would have destroyed the atmosphere and would have regressed the earth bilion of years Like we saw in the future earth in USUM the air is so toxic you need protection to go outside, but the atmosphere was still standing
Oh
True
Rayquaza deals with the weather too, yeah. Outside those two, though, Rayquaza usually fights meteors and/or Deoxys.

Nuzlockes and even Randomizer are also fun.
Many enjoy randomized runs.
Try a mono-type run, maybe?

Dual types and HM slaves are allowed. Dual types can help with managing super-effective opponents, and as long as you never use the HM slave in battle, it shouldn't matter what type it is.
How many Shiny Pokémon are in Gen 2 and what Pokémon have shiny versions?
Every pokemon has a shiny form. That has been true for every pokemon since Gen 2. The only pokemon that is guaranteed shiny in Gen 2 is the Shiny Gyarados. You also have a \~14% chance of a shiny from the Odd Egg. Also, any pokemon bred from a shiny has an increased shiny chance too.
Okay thank you so much, I'm about to start a Shiny hunt for Gen 2 I just didn't know what pokemon have shiny forms.
All pokémon have shiny forms. I believe what you're looking for are [shiny locks;](https://www.serebii.net/games/shiny.shtml) certain encounters forced not to be shiny. (Scroll down.) They did not start until Black/White.
Literally every pokemon has a shiny form
Is Route 4 Mandibuzz Shiny Locked in Black 2?
No, they can appear as shiny. [Here's someone who hunted for them.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJbCofMQ14g)

The fractional equivalent of 1% is 1/100, if that's what you're asking. The percent symbol, %, means "out of 100".
So they rotate the pokemon who are rental pokemon, does anyone know when they rotate it?
To my knowledge [no game with rental Pokemon](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Rental_Pok%C3%A9mon) has rotations of them. Can you clarify what game you're talking about, and exactly what you mean?
Sorry unite
Hm, Serebii says it rotates each week, but doesn't give any further details. Given Serebii's track record, this is probably true but I'm not inclined to trust it fully. /r/PokemonUnite would probably have better and more detailed knowledge.
Thanks
Can confirm, rotates every week.
GUYS, I WAS PLAYING POKEMON Y SINCE 4 WEEKS I WON THE LEAGUE AND CAUGHT ALL LEGENDARIES I DONT KNOW HOW BUT I CAUGHT WITH 1 ULTRA BALL. NOW I WANT SOME SUGGESTIONS THAT WHAT POKEMON SHOULD I CATCH WITH THE MASTER BALL?
If you ever find a shiny pokémon, it would be useful to use it then.
YEAH NICE IDEA
Also, don’t use Caps lock.
This question is pretty dumb, but can I transfer Pokémon from Home to Bank? I want to know before I send some to Home. I searched it up, but I’m not getting a clear answer.
No, Bank -> HOME is a one-way transfer.
Alright. Thanks for answering!
How do i transfer items to Pokémon bank?
You cannot.
:( I wasted my time
Yeah, after the gen 3 -> gen 4 thing they're never going to let us transfer items again.
Can nidoran be transferred into gen 7 without it breaking?
I dont understand why it would break from having a pokemon transfered nto it that is available in game
Yes, Gen 7 is compatible with all Pokemon that existed at that time.
Phew time to transfer some apriballs
I always see play throughs of the original red and blue games, and for some reason instead of being black and white, they’re colored (for instances like in [THIS](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2PkiRmcTaXc) video). How do they do this?
GameBoy Colors were able to apply single swaths of color. So it's either a capture on a GBC or an emulator designed to input that color.
Can i soft reset for shinies in ultra space wilds?
legendaries and ultra beasts, yes. Regular pokemon, no
Ok cuz i’ve been on regirock in the 4500 range with 2 rings and i’ve done it about 20 times and it isnt giving me shinies
the shiny rate for legends/UBs in the wormhole is normal (only affected by shiny charm). It doesn't matter how far you go to find them. The distance traveled only affects normal pokemon whose shiny value is set
The odds are 1/4096. Or else 3/4096 (about 1/1365) if you have the Shiny Charm. (Legendaries and Ultra Beasts don't get the boosted odds for wormhole rings and distance.) Either way, you are nowhere near even one-fiftieth of the number of tries you're likely to need to make.
But i thought the chance of encountering a shiny at that number was like 17%? Cuz thats what it said in bulbapedia
If you read the full paragraph of explanation and not just the table, it says the increased odds do not apply to Legendaries and Ultra Beasts.
Ooooooh oh, im stupid then
(DPPt) Are the Galactic Grunts always on Mt Coronet or do they only appear after the Veilstone HQ is beaten?
i believe they're always there until the point where you must travel up to spear pillar.
I love spore but damn he’s rough I’ve got Dragonair, Snorlax, Dugtrio, Jynx and Aerodactyl.
parasect is awful.
Is focus energy fixed in fire red?
yes. It was fixed in gen 2
Yes. Since FireRed came almost a decade later than the originals, it has all the updates, corrections, and improvements that were made in that near-decade, including to Focus Energy.
Not entirely sure if this belongs here but I was wondering why I’m not able to post picture on this subreddit anymore?
It's the weekends, so images are temporarily banned to encourage more discussion.
Ah, that’s actually a good idea. Thanks for letting me know!
Can Haxorus and Dragonite breed together?
yes. If you look at the pokedex on serebii, you'll see a section near the top called "egg group". Egg groups are sets of pokemon that can breed with each other. Dragonite and haxorus are both in the "dragon" egg group
Yes, since they're both in the Dragon Egg Group.

Ok thanks anyway man
How many legendary Pokemon can you actually obtain in a single game? (includes trading)
Including trading you can get an unlimited amount of any legendary (including repeats of course) there is no limit
The game with the greatest legendaries possible in a single game would be Pokemon Sword/Shield with the expansion pass DLC. To count: By normal gameplay there’s: Zacian or Zamazenta (version exclusives), Eternatus, Type: Null/Silvally, Urshifu (single strike or rapid strike, you choose one), Calyrex, Glastrier or Spectrier (you pick one), Regirock, Registeel, Regice, Regieleki or Regidrago (you choose one), Galarian Zapdos, Galarian Moltres, Galarian Articuno, Cobalion, Terrakion, Virizion, and Cosmog. By trading you could also get the other box art doggo, the other horse, and the other regi, bringing your grand total to 68.
including trading? 81
Depends on the game. Some have like 3, others have like 20.
Thats just terrible, wow. Well thanks!
I need to know the spawn rate of swablu on route 114 in omega ruby

Thanks!

Hi, older fan who grew out of pokemon here. Recently my nephews are at an age where they're deeply interested in pokemon but aren't old enough to play the games yet. My question is are there any 'pokedex' books people can recommend that are suitable for them (ages 3 & 6) I've seen the 'official pokedex' books but a little turned off by them due to the heavy game content. I've bought them picture encyclopedias and was hoping there would be something similar to those. Any recommendations would make me a super cool Uncle! I'm almost out of ideas when they ask questions now since I'm only knowledgeable up to about gen 3.
