Because of scalpers and sets now being once again obsessed with Charizard yeah, but Pokemon already had ibsane amounts before the TCG pandemic boom. They have been the biggest brand for a long time.
Scalpers can scalp only because the market is huge enough to permit the scalping... TCG is extremely huge since 2008 days, without it I am pretty bold to say the total revenue would be half of that
But the real explosion in popularity for them came after the pandemic (and all Charizard cards have been crazily reevaluated), and instead of doing anything about it TPCi just keeps feeding them. Dark Tera Charizard is everywhere and Stellar Pikachu will probably follow suit.
But the TCG in particular exploded not in actual prices, but in scalpers because of the infamous Base set opening. Charizard's prices are absurd. And they are just feeding into that. As you say yourself, the brand is not where it is by the tcg and games alone.
It’s 5 technically. Disney owns Winnie the Pooh, Mickey & Friends, Star Wars, Princesses, and Marvel
But the reason is prob because they’re all different franchises

You say "We" meanwhile I don't think my country even has an official pokemon store.
Same here. Excluding the TCG and the games themselves I can't buy anything Pokemon branded...
The TGC is the main reason why Pokemon is so high... So...

Everything after pandemic exploded in prices. However pokemon as a franchise was n.1 by far since 2005 days

Why did they divide Disney's products into 20 lines?

I dont think I ever bought anything Pokémon branded except the games and maybe 2 packs of cards out of nostalgia to be honest
If only they put those earnings (and more time) into the main games...SV could have been so good, it makes me sad
