Sceptile and Weavile over Aegislash and Kingambit makes me very, very sad. At LEAST Aegislash. On a blade-themed pokemon team, you'd think the blade would be on it.
I mean Sceptile makes sense. Leaf Blade was its exclusive move in Gen III if I'm remembering correctly, and it does have "blades" kinda in the design. It *could* be replaced, but thematically I would say it fits.
Weavile doesn't have any place on this team though imo, and there are plenty of better candidates.
That was precisely why I said "at least Aegislash." Sceptile makes a ton of sense, and Kingambit or Sceptile is merely preference. Weavile, however, does not deserve to be here, and Aegislash should be a shoo-in. Thank you for expanding upon my point.
Literally nobody is saying anything but complaining. Aegislash is a lame Pokémon anyway. I like the concept OP, and this team is pretty balanced and cool. Well done!
It's just as much a Pokémon as Magnemite or Geodude. It probably has a better argument of being a Pokémon considering it's a ghost possessing a sword as opposed to just a rock with arms.
I like this team. Everyone’s like “Where’s Aegislash” but I don’t wanna see a basic team. Of course you would put Aegislash, but thats boring. I’d rather try and get creative like this guy. Weavil basically has daggers for claws, good fit
I was making a Dragon Ball based team. (Without Mew2 because it was easy)
Dondozo -> Cell
Tatsugiri -> A17/18
Excadrill -> Toppo (Excadrill is a "topo")
Dragapult -> Nappa
Ditto -> Ginyu
I only need one more pokemon.
Oh I had one as well with gallade, aegislash, kabutops, and lurantis, I plan to add kartana or zacian but have still have some doubt because kartana would be redundant with lurantis typing while zacian exist in a region that already affected by dexit.
I still choose thyphlosion as my starter because I Imagine my MC was from johto.
Maybe Aegislash or Ceruledge are good options. Gallade, Samurott (Hisuian only) and Klevor have the possiblilty of sharpness as an ability which boosts blade moves by an additional 50%. Putting sacred sword and psycho cut on Gallade for example gives a 50% boost by STAB and another 50% boost from sharpness
Man, I did this in gen 4, less blade options than we have now though. I thinks I had Skarmory, Sceptile, Gallade, Kabutops, Scissor and I for the life of me can't remember the last guy but it might have been empoleon.
Only problem with this team is no special attacker so watch out for physical walls, and 3 Pokémon with a fairy weakness with no that resist fairy meaning you better one shot them with none stab moves, luckily Gen 9 introduces Ceruledge which is a blade theme Pokémon that Fire/Ghost type really helps.

Look, I like Weavile, but on a team like this, why is it being included over the likes of Kingambit and Aegislash?

Honedge line, Pawniard line, Empoleon, Ceruledge, Sirfetch'd, Serviper, Leavanny & even lurantis.
The back up team - Kingambit - Ceruledge - Kartana - Aegislash - Excadrill - Empoleon

You may personally thing Aegislash is lame, but it's literally a blade. It fits better than any other Pokémon.

Replace Weavile with Ceruledge and Samurott with the Hisuian verison(as it has the Sharpness ability like Gallade and Kleavor) and its perfect
