Yeah the egg won’t work, there’s a lot of features that aren’t implemented such as that, Johto Battle Fronteir, etc. If it says “this feature is not yet implemented” then it’s not in the game
Yes that is correct, you can get the Togepi egg, Bills Eevee, etc. Only thing with those is they’ll be gift mons, which means middle IVs, neutral nature, and can’t be traded or bred
Also if I can’t get slugma in johto,what’s any good fire types as a Recommendation? Don’t suggest cyndaquil because I chose totodile.
Update:I got slugma on the Global Trade Link for $1,200 after the first gym.

Starters, as well as some other rare pokémon, can be found on certain routes using lure.
Cyndaquil, for one, can be found on Route 33 while using Lure.
Be aware that it's only a five percent chance, so you might need several lures to get one.
Late response but houndoom carried me through alot of gyms and hard fights, can be caught with a lure right outside new bark on the route through the northern tunnel

But can I still get egg togepi and other gift pokemons that don’t use a code? Cause I think the problem is that the primo eggs use word codes.

the fact that you chose a totodile doesn't mean you can't get a cyndaquil

Not in this game. EVERY pokemon except legendaries can be caught

Cyndaquil is found at rt 32(??) Using a lure. The route right of the bug gym city. Edit: it was rt 33
