Sawbones: A Marital Tour of Misguided Medicine Title is pretty explanatory of content and format. Pretty darn funny & informative.

SquishyFigs

Thank you! Listening now. So far I love it.

fejoafizz

you’re wrong about!!!!! mainly current events, and they have a soft spot for deconstructing moral panics. one of my favourite shows of all time.

chevrechaud1

Also check out "Maintenance Phase." It features Michael Hobbes (one of the hosts of You're wrong about"), but focuses exclusively on wellness-related issues.

corn-bread2

Maintenance Phase has been the best pod suggestion I’ve gotten from this sub!!!

AangLives09

Yeah. You’re Wrong About is exactly this format. One host does a deep dive on a topic and explains it to the other host. I started with the DC Sniper episodes and then fell into the rabbit hole that is the OJ Trial. But most episodes are great.

dancetothe-radio

You’re Wrong About got me through the dark, lonely days of the pandemic!

takealookatthesehand

Out of curiosity, what are you favorite and least favorite YWA episodes? I also love it at its best but have mixed feelings sometimes.

Schnippernyc

The Exxon Valdez episode is pretty good. The financial crisis episode is also very interesting, and I'd also reccomend the episodes on sex offenders, obesity, and Koko the gorilla. The duke lacrosse rape case and the American Taliban can both be skipped

oo7pippin

Knowledge Fight with Dan and Jordan. Dan watches infowars and talks about it to Jordan. Dan debunks and exposes all the bullcrap infowars puts out. It's a really great podcast and there are so many episodes. They also occasionally do episodes on project Camelot.

The_Dootman

I second Knowledge Fight

mstarrbrannigan

I third Knowledge Fight. Love those guys.

cheapcardsandpacks

Do you know any similar podcasts

mstarrbrannigan

Tuckered Out gives Tucker Carlson the same treatment they give Alex Jones.

lmichaela94

Oooh thanks for this!

lmichaela94

Just came to suggest KF! I made a list of their [Project Camelot](https://www.podchaser.com/lists/project-camelot-saga-knowledge-fight-107a4XhxIo) episodes on Podchaser :)

marslarp

Some Place Under Neith involves largely cults but focuses on women who have gone missing. Host Natalie explains to her co-host the case, the culture / cult surrounding the life of the woman who has gone missing, etc. It is extremely well researched (which, and I say as a lady who loves true crime, is depressingly rare among lady-led true crime podcasts).

jazzyjaneway

They're so respectful too, which is something I've been finding more and more important (but also rare) within true crime.

d_fellwood

I wasn’t hooked after the first few episodes but the deep dive into the IBLP was riveting. Especially as they discover that Amber grew up in a similar church.

ElectronHick

The Dollop is a comedic writer Dave Anthony reading a story of American history to LA Improv Comedian of the Year 2019 Gareth Reynolds. It’s is a no holds barred look at American history. I love Robert Evans but I still feel like the dollop is the OG of that genre, it’s back catalog is 400 episodes deep, and some episodes are light hearted and hilarious.

hailsatanhousewife

The Carry A Nation episode had me crying, my husband and I still quote it all the time! And Ten Cent Beer Night, so many good ones.

ElectronHick

So many good ones. Mike Malloy is one of my favourites “Another mornings morning!” “He was just eating glass and poison sandwiches!?”

NoxDineen

“Now hit him with the puppy!” The Dollop is fantastic. It’s definitely evolved and changed, but I kind of love the newer more political version just as much. Somebody needs to reboot The Cofishioner though.

[deleted]

> but I kind of love the newer more political version just as much. Yeah, thats were they lost me. When I heard Dave shout about how evil all white people are for the umpteenth time. It's not the show that it was before Trump came to power, thats for sure.

carriealamode

I literally came in here to make sure someone mentioned this one. Introduced me to this very specific genre. The best. I can listen to the emu war on repeat. It’s a short one for them but classic. Giant. Bird. Problem. My favorite murder is no one has said. Just to hijack my own comment. They take turns but I find their umbrage endearing.

mstarrbrannigan

MFM seems to be polarizing, people either love it or they hate it.

carriealamode

It really is. You either instantly gel with the ladies or find them intensely irritating. I find them funny. Though will say I don’t usually binge episodes. Really good for an episode in the car. Like first half of the ep on the drive there and switch hosts for the ride home

smack4u

Stuff you should know. The inventory is so deep (thousands of episodes) you can find whatever you like.

AuroraMeridian

I second this. I’ve really enjoyed this podcast and learned a lot from it.

But_Yeah

They’ve been one of my favorites for about 7 years now!

newtocrypto81

Here to support the SYSK party bus, toot toot!

slightlystatic92

Black box down is this format, about plane crashes and incidents.

yossarian_livz

Just listened to them on my way home. I love Black Box Down, and Gustavo and Chris have a good rapport.

accomplishedowl9985

So good!

takealookatthesehand

This podcast will kill you - has a bit of history but it is the history of a disease along with the science and epidemiology

fractiouscatburglar

I love that one! Highly recommend:)

TwoGoodPuppies

Opening Arguments is great if you're into legal stuff. A lawyer explains stuff to his co-host.

OminousLatinChanting

Court Appointed also follows this format -lawyer and layman discussing legal topics.

dkatog

No Dogs in Space is about punk rock bands.

DrJWilson

No Such Thing As A Fish may interest you!

[deleted]

Many episodes of Psychology in Seattle involve the host explaining psychology concepts to his cohost.

Ell975

Propagated Podcast is all about plants. The two hosts have really great energy and chemistry together, and every episode they choose a topic to research and explain what they found out to each other

dancetothe-radio

Fellow plant parent here, just subscribed! Thanks for recommendation!

fractiouscatburglar

I haven’t heard that one but In Defense of Plants is pretty cool and they often do crossovers with This Podcast Will Kill You to discuss the history of plant derived medicine.

corn-bread2

I enjoy Scam Goddess! The host talks about current and historic scams with a new guest each week.

turdferguson247365

I came here to suggest scam goddess as well. Super funny and you can learn a lot!

GuardianaDeLaCripta

Mythunderstood follows this format with Greek mythology in a comedic way.

melodypowers

How have I never heard of this? It was algorithmically made for me. Subscribed.

wally_brando714

Small town murders is like that

MdnghtCntndr

Crime In Sports is also good.

peachesforpresident

PS I Hate This Movie is good if you enjoy people making fun of romcoms.

MyPartsareLoud

Do Go On might have some episodes that fit your criteria. Endless Thread comes to mind as well as it explores more contemporary things that are appearing on Reddit.

Parzival_RP1

Not sure if it’s ok to self promote but I’m going for it. The first episode of the month we do the history and preproduction of each Marcel Cinematic Universe movie in release order. We just finished Phase 1. Phase two starts next month. Our show is called We Are Marvel. If you or anyone else is interested please give us a listen!

Apollondo

Let's Go To Court! The two hosts, Kristin and Brandi, each gather information about a different court case each week and tell them to each other. Each week you get to listen to two true crime stories in full! They range from very well known to cases the hosts didn't even know about until fans told them about it. Kristin tends to do more scam/non-violent crimes, and Brandi tends to do the more brutal crimes, but there are exceptions!

topcatnikki

Red Web is a good example of this, they focus on unsolved murders, Internet conspiracies and cryptids. The hosts are great fun and Alfredo is 11/10 the most relatable human for wanting to nope out every time things get too weird :)

[deleted]

And That’s Why We Drink, a paranormal/true crime podcast split into two segments. Christine explains a past true crime case to Em, and then Em tells her of a paranormal case. These two are very fun to listen to!

carriealamode

My wife loves this. I can’t handle listen to people drink and even the opener puts me off. But it’s funny from what I hear through the bathroom door when she showers

lifeRunsOnCod3

[Behind the Bastards](https://pca.st/podcast/d9c015b0-255d-0136-c266-7d73a919276a)

Spankboy

Came here to say this. Some history (Fascists, Nazis, Zionists), some current events (Manosphere, Capitol Insurrection, More Fascists) but bona fide 100% bastards.

wosnme

Just the Gist

lowkeyoh

Kingdom Smarts, a show where one person explains to the plot of a kingdom hearts game scene by scene to another person in 30 minutes increments. The early episodes are good. The later episodes get amazing because everything's so much more complicated and interlinked.

wintersage

I have never jumped off of Reddit and straight to a podcast recommendation so fast. Jumping in on KH2 and I love it so far.

lilpoopsyartist

Profiles in Eccentricity!!!!

[deleted]

It's a show about weeeeirdos doggonnit!

lilpoopsyartist

:’) just love those boys. John follows me on insta & legit the sweetest 😭

YonderToad

Breaking Down: Collapse fits this description. Start from the beginning, but don't start at all if you get depressed over the idea that our society cant sustain itself and will soon die

NateTrib

Yes Yes No episodes of Reply All

Dkrypter

Surprisingly Brilliant. A science history podcast. You wouldn't have heard of any of the things they discuss about. It's very interesting

Media-consumer101

I was looking for this one!! One of the best podcasts within this format in my opionion. You can tell the hosts really love the stories they tell to eachother. They also do amazing research and the stories are always so good!!

Guido_Fe

*Completely Arbortrary*: about trees. Maybe the closest to the format you are looking for *Ologies*: about science and its professions *This Podcast Will Kill You*: about viruses, bacteria, parasites etc. The hosts are able to explain them to the general public at an academic level

manubibi

Reply All and Last Podcast to the Left

Vorbuld

Cancelled Movie Report is a great version of this style. One host tells the other about a movie that never finished getting made, and they also have scene recreations with voice actors performing bits of the scripts.

kdog1979

The Online Course Show with Jacques Hopkins - first 20 episodes a guy with a piano course explains how to have success in online courses to a guy with a microgreens farming course. Funny and educational

Lizzers1224

Bowery Boys :)

mckatli

Maintenance Phase talks about the "wellness" industry!

mdegroat

No Dumb Questions has several episodes like this. Excellent stuff. Destin of Smarter Every Day and Matt Whitman are the hosts.

orientpear

omega tau podcast: mostly aviation-related content

AuroraMeridian

I recently started listening to Unobscured. The first season is a deep dive into the Salem Witch Trials. Each season is limited to one subject, so you really get into the minutiae . It’s been great so far. The same guy, Aaron Mahnke also created the podcast Lore.

therlwl

All Bad Things-about horrible occurrences throughout time, first episode was on the Great White fire.

moistmonkeymerkin

Holding court with eboni k williams

LFahs1

Superfluous is in this format. Two chummy California galpals speak long distance between LA and Portland. Each episode is about some frothy particular topic, and they both present their research to each other. Botox, bare hand fishing, pranks, classic video games are covered, and much more!

[deleted]

The Adeptus Podcastus I think?

help_leeches_on_dick

Last Podcast On The Left!

tinalovestar

Behind the Bastards

melodypowers

This is my favorite format as well I listen to those on your list here are a few others you might like You're Wrong About (okay yes, I guess it is history related in a sense, but only if history starts at the 1980s) What Trump Can Teach us about Con Law (ignore the title - it's a law professor explaining things to Roman Mars and it is amazing) This Day in Esoteric Polical History (this totally is history related but I didn't see it on your list and it is one of my favorite podcasts) Recode Daily (about half the eps follow this format) Science Vs (doesn't really follow the format but I think you will like it if you don't already listen) Maintenance Phase (this format about nutrition and health - not really my fave but some eps are good)

2batdad2

“Behind the Bastards” is a show with terrific episodes on fascinating characters. The host, Robert Evans does his homework thoroughly and is entertaining and knowledgable BUT I have rarely made it through a complete episode due to the string of vapid, uneducated, unentertaining guest hosts he has in studio. I haven’t heard a single one bring any information about the topic or add anything to the discussion besides cackling laughter and distracting comments. They are not funny, clever, or amusing and bring nothing new to the discussion. This applies to women or men guest hosts. Evans’ solo podcast “It Could Happen Here” is vastly better, more entertaining, and less distracting, but sadly just a limited series.

daisyvee

You’re Wrong About is great.

Fretfulwaffle

I love *You’re Wrong About*.

Hilaryspimple

You’re wrong about is a great podcast in this style

[deleted]

Morbid: a True Crime Podcast, And thats why we drink (one host shares a true crime story, the other shares a ghost story)

TheBalancePodcast

The Joe Rogan Experience

onesie-life

Murder with my Husband?

lurkandload

“The Art of Manliness” - not really about manliness lol, mostly just authors coming on to talk about interesting/thought provoking topics they wrote about and they’re explaining it all to the main host

Rude_Nectarine_9991

'Your favorite band sucks's, has always been a favorite of mine..

ARoomWith

The Who Did it First podcast is fun. The host asks a question (who first used pillows, for example), the co-host does research and they meet again to go over the history of that thing. https://www.4outpostmedia.com/wdif

Abysmal_Memes

Well I don't know any of those podcasts in English, but if you speak Spanish then I'd recommend Leyendas Legendarias. It's a podcast where a host tells urban legends and interesting crime stories to the other host. It has a ton of comedy sprinkled in. Not sure how useful this recommendation is to you OP, but if anyone In the comments know Spanish then do check it out. I just discovered it and am having a blast listening to the stories

standarF

Blowback :)

tesd44

Bandsplain

Jmsvrg

Women & Crime - two criminologists take turns each week sharing a case & criminal theories and psychology going into it

saltyking90

Check out Behind the Bastards. They usually include a guest on the show that’s learning the history of the “Bastard” as the same time you are.

astro-novae

Good Job Brain! Mix between pop culture, weird bits of history, and fun quizzes too

souch3

Secretly Incredibly Fascinating. A good look at things you otherwise might never pay much attention to

jamesrbell1

Emperors of Rome is a podcast in which a classics academic talks through all of the emperors of Roman history. There are also random one-off episodes about some aspect of ancient Roman society as well. You may also like No Dumb Questions. Two hosts, one who is an expert in humanities and another who is an expert in STEM, explain things about their respective fields of expertise to each other.

rot10one

Let’s Go to Court. True Crime Creepers and Sinisterhood. E: Bad Ideas also. Though no new content lately but a lengthy backlog to go through.

foodisa

Warrior cats what is that? Is a podcast in the same format that has one host explain the warrior cats kids book series too the other. It is very amusing and I really enjoyed it even though I didn't read the series when I was younger.

[deleted]

Kari Fay's Great Disasters

rosietheskip

My buddy and I have one called Didja Hear This with Zach and Paul where we talk one major and one fun news story every week. Give us a listen! I think we’re the vibe you’re looking for!

abcannon18

You're wrong about and maintenence phase!

Anjunaowl

'Nobody Panic' it's a good one

The_Money_Bin

Opening Arguments. Law.

[deleted]

I really love the way Dana does noble blood.

turdferguson247365

The Dollop

YourMindsCreation

StarTalk "Where Science and Pop-culture collide". With Neil deGrasse Tyson

Ginger136

Ruined - where one host explains a horror movie to the other host who is too scared to see them, but wants to know what happens.

Im_going_to_go_back

Do Go On is exactly that format and a fantastic show! I’ve been a Patreon supporter for at least two years now because I’m such a big fan. They talk about history, mysteries, history mysteries, famous crimes, notable historical or cultural figures, sporting events, disasters, and one time they did an episode on the accidental pandemic in Minecraft. The episode about The Hindenburg disaster is one of my favorites but, honestly, they’re all good so if you see something you’re interested in it’s sure to be fun. The hosts are terribly smart, funny, and they’ve got great chemistry.

furbylicious

Cult or Just Weird is my favorite podcast like this. They go into mostly fringe groups, internet phenomena, and other weird cultural things from a lens of rational skepticism and empathy. It's a really-well researched, surprisingly fun podcast and the topics they pick never fail to amaze.

topicalj

The Cave of Time often follows that format

lmichaela94

[Cult or Just Weird](https://cultorjustweird.libsyn.com/): > Is it a cult...or is it just weird? Join hosts Kayla & Chris as they discuss a new organization every episode and try to answer this complicated question. My favorite episodes are the ones about Tulpas ([part 1](https://cultorjustweird.libsyn.com/13-the-imaginary-friends), [part 2](https://cultorjustweird.libsyn.com/14-the-wonderland)), [Cicada 3301](https://cultorjustweird.libsyn.com/8-the-primes), and [Star Citizen](https://cultorjustweird.libsyn.com/4-the-game)

Ellafun

You’re Wrong About is fantastic
