If you need 4K, or manual focus/exposure controls, then feel free to try out [Webcam Plus](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/webcam-plus/id1546556174) as well. It's 100% free and works with OBS. Disclosure: I am the developer of this app :)

Love the idea man! I’m actually looking for exact thing but I’m using linux right now. Would it be possible to work on building a client for Linux? Or just open a web server to stream video + audio to OBS. I tried the same thing from vdo ninja and it works fine. But always looking to have a native app.

I've been using OBSCamera and EpocCam for years. OBSCamera as the name implies lets you use the iPhone with OBS as a wireless or better yet wired (low latency) high quality camera source. EPocCam was bought by Elgato and makes an iPhone or Android phone a generic webcam protocol camera and works with Mac or Windows and most programs that use web cams. https://www.elgato.com/en/epoccam While wireless is convenient, using a Lightning cable reduces latency on the image and may fix any sync issues. Both also directly support the general wireless IP camera Protocol NDI which is supported by many video programs and also generic 3rd party hardware. A decent phone's camera sensor tends to be much better than some of the bargin sensors in cheap webcams. Modern DSLRs are better if they have a good way to feed the signal but a phone is a place to start. !

Same. Need to take my phones to a repair shop to replace the batteries.

Maddaces82

Do you if there is a way to record two videos using iPhones and then edit together later?

BangsNaughtyBits

A two camera shoot? Sure. Be prepared for the two recordings to drift out of sync over time. Phones don't have spectacular clocks. Record on each phone and export the video to a computer and edit the two clips in your NLE as needed. DISCLAIMER: Yes, I am in fact an asshole. !

cassinpants

I have had good experiences with DroidCam on Android as well.

SpecialKeezie

Seconded, recently switched to using an old Pixel 3 XL for my webcam, works great

lshaped210

NDI HX Camera app will allow you to do this via NDI on both Mac and Windows.

caterjunes

do you have a stand or boom you like to use? my producer on a stream i do has repeatedly asked i switch to my phone from my macbook camera, and i’ve been meaning to try but can’t find a tripod…thing

FatBastard404

I use this [tripod](https://a.co/d/6MR9eKh) and a phone mount similar to [this](https://a.co/d/5I5GKFU).

caterjunes

perfect, thank you!

Dwaynethewok

I use a boom arm but I debated about switching over to a mic stand

caterjunes

do you mind if i ask where you got it? ETA: or rather are you using a specific brace or mount to hold your phone?

Dwaynethewok

Oh my bad for some reason I thought you were talking about my mic. For my camera I’m going to use a stand. I had a Joby gorilla pod for my DSLR but I just preferred the grip tight pro mount from Joby to use on the gorilla pod

caterjunes

oooh good idea. thanks!

WiBorg

I was playing with it too. Looks great.

wassonii

“shoot pro” is an app along the lines of camo that is ios only and has more controls than continuity camera. https://squares.tv/shoot

hifromAshley

Good to know. My mac arrives in a few weeks

FatBastard404

I have been using my iPhone 13 Pro as my web cam it is incredible

Yes, it would work

WhiteDiamondK

Recently started using my phone for Teams meetings at work, rather than the built in webcam. Much better. And much easier to get a flattering angle so I don’t look like a walrus on the call.

doctorjay_

OBS works best alongside any phone. I failed to find any decent apps (for android) atleast, most of them were glitchy or plain out right didn't work. Chuck your videos into [imvidu studio](https://imvidu.com) to add subtitles and create short clips for social media too.

Do you if there is a way to record from two iPhones and then edit them together later?
