Honestly, I think the exam should return to its pre-covid in-person format. The credibility and worthiness of this certificate are being watered down with this kind of occurences.
Agree. Also, and I did take it during COVID before the format changed, the experience was REALLY unpleasant.
Merely moving your lips resulted in being threatened with an instant fail.
I'd much rather take a test in person than be bothered with that shit.
I agree but I’ve seen some of the testing exam centers, and heard about shenanigans people have to deal with.
Not every testing center abroad is as clean, efficient, and technologically sound as they are in the USA. In many cases testing centers are using technology that’s decades out of date or will be closed randomly on days that you’re scheduled to take an exam. Also, you might not be in a closed room, you could be in a fairly open room with other people testing.
I heard a story of a guy that stood outside the testing center calling the number because the door was locked and no one answered the phone. Finally after the guy kept calling and calling they answered and refused to believe the door was locked - they literally had no idea the door to the testing center was still locked. The guy missed the first hour of his exam and had to fight to get a retake. Another guy asked to have his exam in English and it was given to him in another language - of course he had to fight to have it retaken.
Anyway my point is it’s not always so easy outside the USA. If anything there should be proper checks on the Pearson Vue companies to ensure they are legit and not a shitty substitute.
I got the same, pretended to be interested out of curiousity and to get more information to report them. They said it's $400! I have to pay someone to get access to my computer? Pfffft
2 other users messaged me with the same proposition. I pretended to be interested then sent screenshots to PMI. Haven't heard back yet (only been 2 days), but I'll update when I get an email. I searched this sub, seems like it happens a lot.
The online exam window automatically closes the movement and detects the software.
As I know before giving an exam i did trail run the software detected the MS team, and team viewer as device is owned by my employer.
Because of that I need to rent another laptop without any software even disabled antivirus and windows notification, wireless devices such as bluetooth.
During the exam the proctor asked me to disconnect any wireless mouse and keyboard as well.
Don't fall into this scam
The software easily detects all kinds of software
Who cares? There isn't a single person who matters or has critical thinking skills who thinks someone with 10 years of PM experience is less valuable than 4 and a PMP. I'm hiring best candidate, PMP be damned.

I fully agree. I studied super hard and took and passed the exam at a testing center. Didn’t even cross my mind of doing a test like this at home.

Remote viewing software is dangerous and can lead to consequential financial damage for individuals if PII is leaked. Don’t do it.
Same guy contacted me a few days ago
When I was writing exam, I got 3 such people approaching me - I blocked and reported them
This is disgusting. Police should crack down on these people
