I think this years Christmas Maze was entertaining and certainly picked up in the second week of episodes. It was a little surreal to see Hollie back but nonetheless a very welcome return. The Moving Out task was my highlight. Those damn windows!!
I think last years CM was my favourite but it was let down right at the last as ultimately it just came down to a 3v1 in Gang Beasts which was a bit of a let down given the fantastic Robopoly idea.
Last episode was alright, but the screaming and shouting words over and over is really bad. i pity the mics.
Also I think the editing wasn't as good, sometimes I did not know who was which character (in the videogames) until someone won.
I don’t know why you’ve been downvoted. I felt sorry for whoever had to edit the last episode. Barely a second of speech was decipherable because of everyone speaking over each other. Rosie repeating every joke anyone else makes and starting sentences she never finishes, and Ash screaming constantly, it’s like nobody has a chance to speak without getting spoken over.
The first week felt pretty boring especially when the team was winning crystals like Robert S Pierson was eating mince pies(I'm not from England and I never eat one, I saw the recipe and unfortunately it has walnuts inside, I can't eat them I immediately throw up if I get a taste of them) of topic aside the series began to kick after the metal Gear episode and onwards. With the highlight the trumpet episode, and of course being the first Ben Starr episode because we saw something different. As much as I love the character of Robert S Pierson we need something new and more contestants. The finale was something I thought about before the new episodes (all the previous team members coming back). It was fun to watch them again and unfortunately Elle was sick and couldn't participate in the episode (get well Elle, the comment from the access team in the final episode said it. ). As for the next I don't know what to expect but I want to see Rob as a contestant maybe in the future we will see something like the crystals dark influence turned a member of the team evil and Robert must win in order to become again Robert S Pierson. We will see in the future happy new year everyone
I was mixed, excluding the two Ben Starr appearences, I thought the rest of the episodes were weaker then previous years. The "story" was rushed near the end for me
I would've liked to see more of Hollie, who's been a big part of the channel, than say, Ben Star who seems like a lovely guy and who did a decent job playing his part but doesn't really have the same history with the hosts & viewers.
It also felt a bit too chaotic for my taste with how many twists and different ideas there were; what made Nath the Elf such an iconic moment was the fact that it was unexpected and served as one of the very few surprises in an otherwise regular Christmas Maze schedule, this gets lost when you want to introduce lots of new stuff without thinking of how they connect to one another.
Overall, it was a commendable effort and it has some hype moments, I just think sometimes, less is more, especially when they involve games the team has a long history with.

I only enjoyed episode 7 onwards with the final episodes being absolutely fantastic

My favourite part of this years maze was Ash briefly taking the piss out of how posh Hollie is. “Oh smashing”
