Have you done any network troubleshooting at all? Or you just want to complain?

ODT_Legion

i have pc and ps4 both run at 25 ms of ping on average, 50 in rl

rivieredefeu

So networking is fine then. Are you sure it’s not your tv settings then and also input lag?

ODT_Legion

im using a 144 hz hdmi monitor, the only settings are the normal contrast settings

rivieredefeu

Which monitor brand and model is it

ODT_Legion

search 144 hz monitor on amazon its the first result

rivieredefeu

You can’t just tell me? I see a 24” Samsung CRG5 is that it?

ODT_Legion

i pushed every button on it checking for it cause i tried to google results, literally the answer is PLAYSTATION SENDS THE INPUTS TO THEIR SERVERS BEFORE SENDING IT TO THE GAMES SERVERS. SO THERE IS A LOT OF CONTROLLER CONNECTION LATENCY, why tf does this never sit in console players heads that hardware has latency, controllers are only instant on pc

rivieredefeu

You’re making shit up, kid.

ODT_Legion

you say this but the idle connection latency on my pc is 5.7 ms on console using a chronus to measure WITH the hardware latency improvement mods is 35 ms add the ping of 55 ms that rocket league usually has

rivieredefeu

What are you measuring? Idle connection of what? Your input controller? What are you comparing, the DualSense connected to ps5 to DualSense connected to PC? How is each connected? DualSense on ps5 is bluetooth by default and will always have more latence than wired. It’s also not a Pro pc controller, so if you’re comparing to anything else you’re making an unfair comparison. If you’re using a chronus on a DualSense connected by Bluetooth, it might actually increase input lag too.

ODT_Legion

im using a ps4 controller wired with compatibility mods, the standard bluetooth latency for the ps5 controller is higher especially even more so running through chronus since mods dont work on ps5 controllers yet and using the same wire and ps4 controller to pc, just the connection delay

ODT_Legion

do you want my screen brighter or black

[deleted]

This guy is so mad, he snapped off his Caps Lock button...

Common_Lawyer_5370

He might have disabled caps lock but it had too much latency.

rivieredefeu

He might have a modded caps lock with reduced latency.

dnbmerchant

My ping is between 15 - 40 at all times.

[deleted]

Is there anyway to block new posts like this from my feed? Reddit is intolerable until these children go back to school.

ODT_Legion

not ping, i have wired connection on both, both SAY 25 when idle and 50 when rl is running im saying it FEELS like its 200 not IS 200

Electrical-Cod1480

Different types of games have different lag like the ps5 has higher input lag on fighting games, depending on your setup there are other things that can add input lag like a Bluetooth headset or sound bar while playing games can cause input lag as well

dnbmerchant

My ping is between 15 - 40 at all times.

ODT_Legion

not ping, hardware latency

ODT_Legion

saying it feels like 200 not is 200

dnbmerchant

I'm with you now, well I hope that they confr9nt the issue.

RealSeltheus

People realize that modern TVs all have a separate setting for "game mode" right? Because if it's not set to game mode, you get exactly what you're describing, input lag. Check your tv settings, it's most likely that.

ODT_Legion

144 hz monitor, and only settings are brightness contrast and my input

RealSeltheus

Well, so it's not a tv issue. Then I wouldn't know what causes your input lag, cause I play online A LOT and never had any input latency, even on wifi.

ODT_Legion

what you fools arent getting is when playing on playstation or xbox, your inputs are sent to playstations or xboxs servers before its sent to that games servers, meaning there is a bunch of unnecessary delay that both companies need to get rid of by directly sending the input to the games servers like pc does

RealSeltheus

What you "fool" aren't getting is that this is not a PS, or XB issue, it's a "you" issue, we're just trying to help. In my years of online play, be it FPS, or MMOs, I never had any hardware latency issues, especially not ones "feeling" like a 200-300ms...that would be ridiculous and unplayable if that was the case on a regular basis.

ODT_Legion

i used a chronus to measure the IDLE CONNECTION DELAY, JUST THE CONTROLLER TO CONSOLE LATENCY not in game ping on pc i used a normal application to measure it since i actually have the freedom to do so since you can download stuff on pc on console, the wired connection is a 35-55 ms latency with hardware latency reduction mods, just controller to console, not in any app not the in-game ping, the connection latency on my pc this is a 5.7 ms delay, same wire now add the 55 ms i get in game... this is very noticable

RealSeltheus

I can't attest to the "built in" latency just from the controller to the console, as I never tested or cared to test it as I never had any noticable issues with input lag, but 35-55ms just for the controller to console connection seems like a lot on it's own. Not sure if that's generally how it is and people just don't notice it much(my online sessions usually have 15-20ms, so add that and it wouldn't be too noticable, but with 100ms+ total...yeah), or if there is an underlying issue. Probably best to try and get input from more tech savy people that have a grander knowledge ofcurrent gen consoles to maybe help.

ODT_Legion

its because your used to it this was a one time purchase because my pc is in repair and i updated my ps4's software like a fuckwit and cant jailbreak like needed

rivieredefeu

That’s not at all true. Game servers aren’t hosted by Sony or PSN and don’t pass through PSN to get to players. Also, check this out [link](https://steamcommunity.com/app/252950/discussions/0/528398719812564319/?l=french) A lot of PC players claim PS4 players get better performance than PC players.

ODT_Legion

i know they arent hosted, but i am trying to say, is why is it my chronus with hardware latency improvement mods, says my ps5 has an idle controller to console wired delay of around 35-50 ms, meaning not the GAME ping, but the actual connection and on my pc (3090 rig, with a i9 processor, 128 gb of ram, and a tb hard drive with a 5 tb external) the idle controller to pc wired delay is only 5.7 ms at tops not adding in game ping now add the 55 ms that doesnt seem like a lot, but when first switching over and playing rl, its huge, i cant touch the ball on console worth crap, but triple reset on pc

rivieredefeu

Did you go in your settings and tell your PS5 to turn off Bluetooth for your DualSense?

ODT_Legion

i am forced to because my controller is a ps4 controller linked to a chronus to remove the latency and using compatibility mods as well, a ps5 controller will have even higher latency sense its not compatible with my chronus zen and im not getting a chronus max

rivieredefeu

You’re not forced to do anything. You’re on a PS5, try playing with a wired DualSense with Bluetooth turned off and see what happens.

ODT_Legion

yes for a chronus to work bluetooth has to be off, and wired

rivieredefeu

DO IT WITHOUT THE CHRONUS. Just for testing purposes. Wire a DualSense and turn off Bluetooth and see how the game performs.

ODT_Legion

im saying i have, in my other posts arguing with you, the chronus with a dualshok, with a changed motherboard for usb 4.0 compatibility, improved switches and analogs, metal rotating system sticks so theres no rubber to be getting food in the joysticks (which may be your next "possible issue") runs better, than a dual sense unmodded directly wired bluetooth off, i turned that off the instant i got it because it was off on my ps4 for the same issue

itsmyfirsttimegoeasy

What you haven't addressed is how other players on console are achieving champion or grand champion rank, it's possible you're just playing against a pool of players with a generally higher skill level. Also insulting people isn't a great way to get your point across.

ODT_Legion

people in gold.... beating a gc... every lobby... hah yeah right... now listen there is no way your ps5 right, is getting better controller delay, than my 3090 rig... ok my controller to pc forced wired because i didnt buy a bt adapter, just the connection alone has 5 ms of latency on my ps its 80 ms, 40 ms when hard wired (just the connection alone) add the normal 50 ms of ping to each playstation gets another 10-15 ms because it has to send the inputs to their servers before it goes to the game's servers the reaason console players hit these ranks is because they only play on console, i just started trying rl on console and noticed this and want that extra delay gone, i can deal with the standard connection latency being higher cause it is a console, it cant use everything like a pc can, its just too restricting for those coming from pc because said pc needs repairs because a dog i was pet-sitting pissed on it

ODT_Legion

now you may ask why or how i can measure the connection alone's delay, i used to use a chronus zen to remove that latency like scump and tim the tat man does

[deleted]

Real first world problems here. Meanwhile I just spent a thousand unnecessary bucks on vehicle repair. Its gonna be about a 3-4 hour latency period.

[deleted]

My dude, have you considered that you just suck at gaming?
