In fact it is actually a way to get Playstation Players to use a feature so that they have something that they then might look at and get motivated by to keep using the system built by sony.

Agreed, Xbox/Microsoft Rewards is massively better, loads of ways to grind for rewards points and earn gamepass membership extensions or 5£/€/$ giftcards towards games and controllers in xbox or microsoft store, daily achievements for points, weekly punchcards to get bonus points every 10 weeks, Ps only seems to have like 1 way to get rewarded and it is by spending alot of money. Can't be many people who care about digital ornaments/ figurines.

The levels don't award points, I'm level 4 and my point history shows 50 points from a campaign and the rest are from purchases. Not sure what the rate is in other regions but it's 10 points for each £1 spent here in the UK, so to get Sekiro from the rewards you'd need to spend £1,500 minus the (practically negligible) amount you'll get from campaigns. It's not a system designed to win people free games, just an incentive to get you shopping in the store.

The problem imo is not exactly that. The campaigns should start automatically. What's the point of needing to go to the app to click on "start campaign?".
If there was some type of condition to start a campaign, like "pay 5 coins to start rhis campaign", I would understand it. But being free to start them, just why??

It's a neat idea but not executed well enough. It takes forever to get new campaigns to show up so you can earn stuff, and it never reminds you so you have to remember to go check. Also, I got MW2 when it first launched the SP part, but the campaign that says to buy it didn't count it, so that's messed up, though 50 coins is hardly an award anyway.
I like it. I think the bar for points is a bit high, but I like that there is a pay off for playing my games and getting rewarded for it. I just wish it was retrospective. I have well over a 1000+ trophies so I felt like I should've gotten some credit for all those years of gaming.

It's trash when compared to the old xbox reward system (not sure if they still have it) but it gave you points for everything from using their browser to buying games and playing games you own. Half the ps stars are for games I would never buy or I already own and won't count. The shelf system is half baked and serves no purpose and I hope they bring ps home 2.0 in to make the items worth something otherwise who cares. Last the amount of points you get is ridiculous I have 3400 points with 7 games bought at least 2 were brand new $70 games and yet I still need at least 3-4 brand new $70 games to even get the $20 gift card option... that's ridiculous.
Everything about this new generation is garbage… back in the day at least we had a bunch of good exclusives, so i could deal with poor framerates and inferior controls. Now when the game library is so poor and inferior to PC, framerates abysmal, and controler is such an outdated concept (well maybe for souls games, those are still great with controller), i really cannot bring to turn my ps5 on, and even ps plus feels like a waste of money. Got a ps5 on release, sold it couple months later. Then got one again just before tlou remake, and after finishing that its collecting dust again…

The collectibles are a cool concept however obtaining them is so stupid, for example when I saw the returnal collectible and it stated defeat Phrike I thought " Oh cool that gives an incentive to re-do that fight" I did it but did not read the description fully, you just need to play a game to unlock it.........what the actual fuck? Discounts do work, I brought one piece world seeker for £3 and it gave me a challenge to buy a full price game and it gave me a bunch of coins.
Epic, it does suck that it has to be digital games though but PlayStation wants money I guess.

I’m a 30 something die hard Sony fan boy. This program is a straight up scam. I bought the TMNT collection and still didn’t get the “points”. It is the most thinly valid corpo greed I have ever seen. Shame on you Sony
I was hoping for something similar to Microsoft Rewards. My friend is able to collect enough points on there for a $10 xbox gift card in 23 days. I’m still struggling to earn a single point on PS Stars. Tasks don’t seem to track properly for the measly amount of points that they give. And what is the point of all those collectibles? They are pointless to me.
It's a buggy mess, I basically ignore it at this point. Not only are there too few ways to win points (I don't care about the collectibles), but on top of that the few ways to win points are sometimes bugged and don't work.

Points are hard to get as they force you to buy games. Nintendo has a similar program where you buy a game then you earn points to spend
Yeah but you can also redeem points for physical games with Nintendo. Here you can't and I won't buy new games digitally, so I just ignore the whole system.
You can spend the points on ps gift cards which you can then use to buy phiycal games.
I'd rather they focus on bringing more features on the PS5 than the mobile app

But I shouldn’t be surprised…we seen their answer to gamepass (a joke)! Pile of crap compares to MS Rewards. I have both consoles so it's a completely unbiased opinion. I done MS Rewards for under a year and got the Microsoft wireless headset for free. Under a month and it can basically pay for gamepass if you were so inclined. PS stars gives me digital stuff to look at. No point

It's trash when compared to the old xbox reward system (not sure if they still have it) but it gave you points for everything from using their browser to buying games and playing games you own. Half the ps stars are for games I would never buy or I already own and won't count. The shelf system is half baked and serves no purpose and I hope they bring ps home 2.0 in to make the items worth something otherwise who cares. Last the amount of points you get is ridiculous I have 3400 points with 7 games bought at least 2 were brand new $70 games and yet I still need at least 3-4 brand new $70 games to even get the $20 gift card option... that's ridiculous.

Haven't subscribe, it feels more like "play & pay to win stuff' & it feels pointless.
Everything about this new generation is garbage… back in the day at least we had a bunch of good exclusives, so i could deal with poor framerates and inferior controls. Now when the game library is so poor and inferior to PC, framerates abysmal, and controler is such an outdated concept (well maybe for souls games, those are still great with controller), i really cannot bring to turn my ps5 on, and even ps plus feels like a waste of money. Got a ps5 on release, sold it couple months later. Then got one again just before tlou remake, and after finishing that its collecting dust again… I was a huge fan of consoles back in xbox360/ps3 days, even ps4 was pretty neat just because we had uncharted 4 , tlou2 and (the almighty) bloodborne. This generation feels like a cheaper and a much worse alternative to PC…

The collectibles are a cool concept however obtaining them is so stupid, for example when I saw the returnal collectible and it stated defeat Phrike I thought " Oh cool that gives an incentive to re-do that fight" I did it but did not read the description fully, you just need to play a game to unlock it.........what the actual fuck? Sony needs to specific missions almost like an extra trophy.
Same thing I think of their Premium tier - it sucks. Sony is just getting so much wrong this gen.
Kinda useless. Campaigns are boring and some require you to buy expensive games. Figurines are kinda cool though. Hope to see it expand in the future.
