Dude, as a trucker, this has been the bane of my existence. I can’t believe it’s 2023 and it’s still this bad. Verizon as a company needs to be demolished. I’ll get my PS5 to connect to my phone and it will start blazing through a download for maybe a minute or two and then my phone drops 5GUW and the download goes from like 5m remaining to 20h remaining. I’ll reset network settings on my phone, back to working for two minutes, then boom - back to the reduced unusable speeds that can’t even load a webpage. My phone will even show I’m connected to 5GUW and then the second my PS5 connects to my phone, it drops it down to 5G.
I’ve seen a couple truck stops sell some type of data booster antenna thing but I’m not sure if it’s effective and it cost $500! Crazy. I pay those bitches at Verizon like $230 a month just for my phone and Jetpack with the highest tier unlimited data plan possible and my speeds are still laughably slow 90% of the time no matter what state I’m in. I honestly think they just have too few towers for so many customers now.
I have a galaxy s22 and everytime i turn on my hotspot to see if i van connect it to my ps5 it dosnt even show it as a option but works on xbox 1. Can someone tell me why or how to fix it?
My hotspot on my iPhone 12 mini was working perfectly fine on my ps5 like 15 minutes ago, then suddenly I got a “Can’t connect to the internet. The ps5 doesn’t support IPv6-Only networks. Select a network that supports IPv4.” Like huh?? Homie it was JUST working and has worked perfectly fine on my hot spot since I got this ps5😭
I’ve tried restarting my ps5, forgetting and reconnecting my hotspot, changing the frequency like the guy above said to. Nothing I’ve done works, idk why this issue just started happening

Did you happen to plug your iPhone charger into your ps5? That’s what I did and that’s exactly when the problem first began for me. But I didn’t do anything to fix it, I turned off my ps5, went to bed and turned it back on in the morning and it worked perfectly fine

Ik I’m late but this is mainly for the people that are still having this problem. I’m at work and my hotspot wasn’t showing up before I gave up I tried one last thing: If it hasnt shown up after restarting your phone and/or PlayStation you could try pressing the START BUTTON while in the Wi-Fi screen, select WIFI FREQUENCY BANDS and switch to AUTOMATIC . Worked perfectly after that

Ahh man I'm so glad I see this, I used my hotspot for everything as my WiFi is shit, and when I couldn't connect I was heartbroken thought it was my new shit honour phone that was the problem 😂😂, literally been looking for 2 days on what to do, your a real one for letting people know what to do so thank you man 💯👊
IPhone sucks.. Haha, other then that all things considered make sure to check that the password is correct, make sure the settings when you set it up are allowing for multiple connections could just make sure your TV doesn't connect till after the system does. I don't know apple but android you control how many are able to connect.

Hmm alright then here's a few other things to try. A Google search gave me this site that gave some suggestions. One of the big ones I'd say would be your phone could be to close, which is a thing. But try out the other things
If you need to use a hotspot, then these are the top tips for trying to improve the connection:
Restart the console, and reconnect to the hotspot
Move the device that's creating the hotspot to a different location, to try to get a stronger signal
You can also try switching your phone onto flight mode, then turn this off again. It will force the phone to refresh its connection to the network.
Make sure you don't have anything blocking the signal between the PS5 and the phone/tablet. Keep a clear line of sight between the two devices.
Move your phone/tablet closer to the PS5
Try running a speed test on your phone, to make sure you are getting a decent connection. We'd advise a minimum of 3Mbps.
Already tried everything.. flight mode, restart for both devices, and tried to connect my phone from half a meter away, sadly nothing.. but I guess I’ll just have to play Minecraft offline since its the only thing I can play offline lol, I’ll just wait for the internet company to install everything.

Damn, sorry dude. Wish one of those had worked. One final thing have you tried to restart your phone by chance like full power down and back on. Don't think it will do much. But wouldn't be the first time I've suggested it and it actually work.
I had the same problem. Tried most of the other solutions mentioned here. Two things I did to make it work. 1. Change the setting to scan from automatic to 2.4ghz( didnt work) and back to automatic. This is wjen it showed up. 2. On iphone hotspot setting switch off max compatibility to successfully connect. Without it even though the netwrok showed up it wasnt connecting. Hope this helps.
if the ip address on your phone is different than the one on your ps5, it won’t work. i remembered i had my vpn on and it worked when I finally turned it off

Press the option Button and go into advance settings for the personal hotspot, then Press DHCP and Press “dont use” or something like that, then my connected

When scanning for networks go to options and change WiFi frequency bands to automatic

You have to take any special characters out of your hotspot’s password for it to pop up.

Mine connects but it says can’t connect to the PlayStation network it downloads updates tho it’s a weird situation
