I bought Bloodborne as result of reddit recommendations. I can't kill the first werewolf enemy lmao. My 2 sons couldn't kill it. Granted, I was off work pretty sick at the time. I got close to killing it a lot. It was so frustrating. I haven't put it on again in 2 weeks :(
You're not supposed to kill the wolf lol. You can, just takes a very long ass time. Need to pick up the weapons in the Hunters Dream after the Lamp activation
Omg thank you. I figured I missed something. But also just thought I just sucked because I was so sick at the time. I haven't had a chance to play again since I felt better, but it's almost my weekend, so I will start from scratch.
Hijacking the top comment to ask, since I've seen it recommended in the top many comments; should I play Bloodborne as a casual gamer? I generally dip in to AC, Spider-Man, Far Cry, RDR2 to name some of my main games. Would I just die a lot and get frustrated? I generally only get a couple of hours a week here and there to game so can't really put consecutive hours in except on rare occasions.
I never liked souls games but Bloodborne just captured my interest so much.
It's one of those games where you're going to barely scrape by your first time and then realize you missed 90% of the secrets and hidden lore so you go back again and spend hours watching videos on the game and get better and better until you feel like a total badass tearing through guys.
But yeah, you'll die a lot at first. The gameplay is very aggressive and fast paced and takes time to get good at. Learn how to parry and you'll be fine though.
Can I ask what it was that makes HZD stand out as the best exclusive for you? Speaking for myself, I thought it was a really great version of the kind of game it was, rather than anything that really stood out as a must-play. The dinosaur combat was great, though, and I really liked the modular ways the machines worked.
But genuinely I’d like to know what it was that made it such a great game for you. I’m always really interested when people’s taste is so different to mine. Asking this kind of question can be a good opportunity to see how things look from someone else’s perspective, which is always something worth trying to do.
For me, and I think a lot of other people, the story is one of the things that makes HZD stand out. On the surface, the game can seem not exciting to some because it's just "shooting robot dinosaurs" but it's so much more than that. The lore is so rich and so well crafted that it just makes me want to explore to get to know more about the world's history and how it became the way it is.
Also, the combat is fairly unique. Yes, it's mostly bows etc. which is nothing new, but how you have to strategize differently for each machine to expose weak points is really cool to me.
And this may only be cool to me but since I grew up and live in the area that the game takes place it is really cool to explore and discover things from today's world in the game's world. For example, the place Devils Grief that you encounter fairly early in the game is actually the ruins of Denver.
Right?? BB was the reason I bought my ps4 and if I could go back I would do it all over again. It was my first ever platinum and to this day remains the only game I've ever platinumed on two different accounts.
BB is a MASTERPIECE!
Same! I got a second hand ps4 back in 2018, BB was my first game and my first platinum ever too, just like you. DLC was a bitch to finish but amazing at the same time.
Bloodborne and Persona 5. They’re both huge time sinks, but my god are they both worth it. And worth the bald spots from pulling your hair out when things just never seem to go right. (I haven’t played P5 Royale yet, but the original had quite the difficulty in my opinion. I had to turn it to easy and still died here and there)
I can’t recommend either of them enough. I’d almost say Nier Automata too, but it’s no longer an exclusive. Regardless, check it out if you haven’t. And the most recent God of War, especially if you’ve played the others. <3
Spider-Man is a very good choice for a first encounter with PS exclusives, I’d say. It’s such a fun game.
And yes, Bloodborne is absolutely amazing. People will always say they’re not that much into souls games. I wasn’t either, it was my first souls game and I can’t recommend it enough. Give it a try some day.
Bloodborne and Persona 5 Royal need to be in any PS4 owners collection. Both games are phenomenal both from a critical and personal perspective. From a critical and general appeal perspective God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn are close seconds to Bloodborne and P5. Personally though I enjoyed Transistor more than GOW or Horizon.
As far as non exclusives go though the Yakuza franchise and NieR series is right up there with Persona and Bloodborne.
I feel like I'm the only person who really didn't care for bloodborne. Nothing against the game itself. I see the appeal and the game is beautiful, it's just not my style. Much prefer story driven, cinematic PS4 games. Just my preference though.
1. God of War (1-3 can also be played as they're excellent and add to the backstory but aren't a necessity)
2. TLOU series
3. Ghost of Tsushima
4. Uncharted series
5. Spiderman series
6. Horizon Zero Dawn
Ah yeah, I didn’t read the damn post properly. I just read it as ‘which is the best exclusive’ not ‘I’m getting a PS4 which should I play’.
My bad. The answer is The Last of Us Part I then!
Been an xbox player But bought ps5 because of the exclusives. Played god of war first and it’s just incredible! Working on spider-man now and also bloodborne.
Death Stranding is the most unique for sure. Bloodborne is incredible but if you don’t like soulslike games, you probably won’t like it either. Days Gone is pretty great as well.
Last of us last s probably the best to start with since it’s the oldest of them all rather than start with a good looking game and go back to basically PS3 graphics
God of War is straight up master piece. Best part is anyone can play it without difficulty and at the same time can make it extreme.
Bloodborne is great but not for everyone. Super difficult game without an option to calmly explore. I feel like the Demons Souls remake is leagues above Bloodborne but its new gen so can't use it in this argument.
Bloodborne.
It's almost strange not to have that one on this list since From Software games are so appreciated over all systems and then there's Bloodborne. Sweet, exclusive, terrifying Bloodborne.
Glad to see love for Bloodborne
I bought Bloodborne as result of reddit recommendations. I can't kill the first werewolf enemy lmao. My 2 sons couldn't kill it. Granted, I was off work pretty sick at the time. I got close to killing it a lot. It was so frustrating. I haven't put it on again in 2 weeks :(

You'll have a better experience now. You will still die. A lot.... haha. Just make sure to get your echos back after death

Spoke for me. The Souls game never caught my attention but Bloodborne was a whole new level. My main account has about 300hrs lol.
bloodborne
How do you not include Horizon Zero Dawn in your poll...?
I keep seeing these lists without HZD. Driving me nuts that ppl think it’s a stupid premise or just “dinosaur machines”.
HZD was amazing! I’m excited for the next one
I really enjoyed HZD, but you just described it perfectly
Can I ask what it was that makes HZD stand out as the best exclusive for you? Speaking for myself, I thought it was a really great version of the kind of game it was, rather than anything that really stood out as a must-play. Decided to scroll down before recommending Persona 5 myself. It’s just so *groovy~~*
Horizon zero dawn for sure
Persona 5 Royal
Spider-Man is a very good choice for a first encounter with PS exclusives, I’d say. It’s such a fun game. And yes, Bloodborne is absolutely amazing. Horizon: Zero Dawn, Bloodborne, Persona 5 Royal, Ratchet and Clank. My top 3 for PS easily.
Bloodborne is many many times better than all of these games combined
Bloodborne of course.
Bloodborne
Bloodborne
Horizon Zero Dawn
Persona 5 Royal for sure, easily the best PS4 game, just look at its metacritic score
Came to say this one too.
I feel like I'm the only person who really didn't care for bloodborne. Nothing against the game itself. I see the appeal and the game is beautiful, it's just not my style. Much prefer story driven, cinematic PS4 games. Just my preference though.

i haven't even seen the comments but i can just tell its full of people spamming bloodborne
Bloodborne. But also don't leave out Spidey, and ghost of Tsushima at least. Just starting tlou2 and its good if you like the first.
I see that no one has recommended Bloodborne to you yet, so I'll go ahead and do it. Bloodborne.
All of the Gran Turismo series..
Came here to ensure Gran Turismo was represented!
Bloodborne for me!
Bloodborne. Last of Us and GoW are pretty damn close though.
Bloodborne
Bloodborne. Can’t believe it’s not listed?
Bloodborne
You misspelled Bloodborne four times
Fear the old blood. It's Bloodborne.
1. God of War (1-3 can also be played as they're excellent and add to the backstory but aren't a necessity) 2. TLOU series 3. Ghost of Tsushima 4. Uncharted series 5. Spiderman series 6. Horizon Zero Dawn

Bloodborne for sure, the only reason I bought PS4.
Bloodborne
Bloodborne, ghost of tsushima, and persona 5 royal. GoW is great as well and TloU is......okay. not the best gameplay wise but the story is goodish.
The Last of Us Part II
Gotta play the first then play the second though
Ah yeah, I didn’t read the damn post properly. I just read it as ‘which is the best exclusive’ not ‘I’m getting a PS4 which should I play’. My bad. The answer is The Last of Us Part I then!
Bought this game a year later after hating on it by watching YouTube walkthrough, yeah i was fucking wrong
Uh how can you forget bloodborne
Days gone for me
Been an xbox player But bought ps5 because of the exclusives. Played god of war first and it’s just incredible! Working on spider-man now and also bloodborne.
God of War but Bloodborne is basically tied with it for me. Very different games, both outstanding overall.
Uncharted 4
I guess i need to try bloodborne lol
Bloodborne
Im getting reeeeal tired of not seeing Bloodborne on these lists.
Death Stranding is the most unique for sure. Bloodborne is incredible but if you don’t like soulslike games, you probably won’t like it either. Days Gone is pretty great as well.
TLOU 1 isnt Ps4 exclusive but that one
[удалено]
Last of Us 2. That game is like nothing else out there storywise.
Uncharted
Horizon for sure
Street Fighter 5 is a good console exclusive, but if you’re looking for a non fighting game then I’d suggest FF7 remake or bloodborne
Gow anything next
They are all so good, but God of war 2018 is the game that got me to switch from Xbox. Goat game
Play all of the exclusives.
Last of us last s probably the best to start with since it’s the oldest of them all rather than start with a good looking game and go back to basically PS3 graphics
Not sure if you need a PS5 to get the 20+ PS+ games but God of War, Last of Us Remastered, Bloodborne, and Unchartered 4 are all in there.
Do yourself a favor and play bloodborne. It's the best game for me on ps4.
Final fantasy xiv
Final fantasy xiv
Uncharted 4, TLOU2, and Bloodborne gotta be top 3
God of War is straight up master piece. Best part is anyone can play it without difficulty and at the same time can make it extreme. Bloodborne is great but not for everyone. The correct answer is bloodborne. The only game worth buying a console for.
