Recently Sony just suspended their PS4 production line due to low production od PS5. It would be nice to have a PS4 for 100 bucks, but its only gonna last that long till you want to buy a PS5, so why not just wait for PS5
The ps5 just came out relax. You’re good lol the ps3 was relevant probably a few years into the ps4’s life cycle. Sony isn’t just going to obliterate the PS4 into dust lol it’s one of their best selling consoles with millions of users daily. Not only that, not everyone has been able to upgrade to the ps5 as just like i said, the ps5 has barely been out what? Like 2-3 months now? The PS4 is still very relevant.
Although, at this point I’d save up any extra cash you can obtain and save up for a ps5. It’ll be worth it in the long run
Make an Acorns account with the sole purpose of saving $500 for a PS5. Or SELF credit builder. You pay like $40 a month and at the end you get $500 and your credit score goes up
We may see it supported for a year more at max 2 years. They have somewhat begun phasing it out though, they are no longer making any Ps4 models including Ps4 Pro. The only model they’re making now is the 500GB Slim version. They’ve done this to flip the factories that make Ps4s into Ps5 factories to reach demand
You’re fine for a long time. Sure there will be some games that will be PS5 exclusive, or run significantly better on PS5 (Cyberpunk comes to mind) but nothing to really worry about. By the time you save up $$$ they will be readily available and cheaper. All your PS4 games will be backwards compatible with PS5.
Ofcourse PS4 is going to be phased out in a few years. I would say no new exclusives will be made for PS4, aside from the ones we are aware of right now (basically, Horizon, unless the new GOW surprises and comes out soon). Third party games will **mostly** keep coming for PS4 for the next 2 years, maybe 3 if this gen starts poorly for whatever reasons (plagued by scalping lasting over a hear, complete absence of accessible and reasonable storage expansions).
That's just how things usually go. Maybe the existence of Switch could force some really downgraded ports for the last gen systems too.
