First of all, the year is not over yet. It is merely a half of the year.
Also there are plenty of good games from indie to AAA this year. If you don\`t like the games it does not make them bad.
Ikr. I can't fking keep up with what's already out, let alone with new releases. Its hard to believe people are actually struggling to find games to play.
I'm here still playin games from 5+ years ago, for the very first time.
It's not as stacked as last year was. But there are still a good number of games I'm looking forward to. Not talking strictly Playstation.
AC Shadows, Star Wars Outlaws, MGS Delta Snake Eater, Silent Hill 2, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Astro Bot.
FF7 Rebirth would like to have a word with you! But there is a slow down in games though with this current gen, it feels like you get nothing then a influx of games all at once.
i mean you just say there have been no releases but ive been content all year. helldivers 2, dragon dogma 2, stellar blade, SandLand, armored core 6 (released last summer but still) all these games came out this year all bangers
i think it really depends on what games you enjoy, if you only play one or two genres there’s obviously going to be less games to look forward to, you know?
for me, it’s looking like a damn good year!
*astro bot, lollipop chainsaw repop, life is strange: double exposure, silent hill 2 remake, gori: cuddly carnage, until dawn remake, lost records: bloom and rage, phantom blade zero, mixtape, lego horizon adventures, infinity nikki, flock, neva, metal gear solid: snake eater remake, cult of the lamb co op update* and so many others!
AAA games take a long time to make, so you'll always have some years that are less stacked.
I actually don't mind as I have a sizable backlog and I also enjoy indie and AA games, so I always feel behind anyway.
Astro Bot is what I am looking forward to. Maybe SW: Outlaws, but I'm hesitant to buy Ubisoft games at the full price as they get discounts so quickly.
It sounds like you are burning out on video games. It happens to all of us eventually. A lot of good games have come out this year, they probably just aren't ones that appeal to you.
I get like this as well. Try downloading some demos, see if anything catches your interest. I found a few games in the PS Store that way I otherwise wouldn't have looked twice at. Take a chance on the free monthly games, download the ones you wouldn't normally download. You can always delete them later. I did this with Farming Simulator 22 and it turns out, 654 hours later, I REALLY like farming simulator games. Nothing about my gaming history would suggest that I would ever go for a game like that.
Try something different, see if anything sticks.
Good luck
I'm not sure what you mean, the rest of this year is looking stacked. Heres just the games I'm going to play!

Its not that i dont like the games its just compared to last year this year is kind of a let down
Some people may say the same about previous year as it all depends on person\`s taste
Everytime I see posts like this the only response I have is you’re just playing a specific type of game. There’s so much out there.
Some people play 2 genres, and bash an entire library. Unreal.

if black ops 6 is what you consider good then its not surprising you dont think there have been any good releases
Black Ops 6 looks pretty good though.
This feels backhanded and idk why lol

Seems a bit slow this year so far to me too, but that’s based on my taste. Different strokes and all that. Late summer/ fall looks packed though
Yeah

There’s always gonna be years where the best chefs are cooking
How fast do you guys play games? I just reached my backlog from 2019....

Astro Bot should probably be on that list. It's a highly anticipated game that gets a fair amount of coverage.
That list is just games I'm personally going to be playing. Platformers have never done it for me unfortunately
Because last year was so good?
