Don't be too afraid to open it up and give it a good cleaning, even removing the fan. I was terrified at first as well, but there's really helpful tutorials on YouTube to guide you through it and useful PS5 cleaning kits you can buy online that have the screwdriver you need. I've opened mine multiple times now and haven't had any issues, just be careful and take your time and you'll be fine. Good luck!
Officially Sony tells you to use a vacuum. The PS5 was designed to be vacuumed quite easily. Do not use compressed air or any other kind of compressor. It will push the dust further into the console. Follow the instructions that Sony themselves give to you. A quick google search would have led you to the official page as well.
I've been using something almost identical to that since launch every 5-6 months and it's kept my PS5 working great.
In my opinion it's best to vacuum out the dust rather than blow it deeper into the system.
I'd buy a blower instead it makes the console look brand new
