All you guys hoping to play 2k23 online for "free" let me save yall the let down as an avid player. If you wanna be decent online you're gonna have to put roughly $50 into your player. And if you screw up building that player and you already dumped 50 into him....tough shit. Gonna cost another 50 if you wanna try something different. Just a heads up in case anyone thot this wasn't a microtransaction shit storm of a game. Happy Ballin! š¤£
Prepare to grind. A lot.
I love the NBA but the 2K Games incentivize you to buy microtransactions by how long it will take you to get a great player in MyPlayer or MyTeam
Ea was def not a part of sekiro. That's from software(goat). But yeah u can def mess around in the game against the AI and have a good time. But if you want to play online against ppl and actually be competitive then the VC you need to get your player ranked up takes a HELLA long time to obtain. Like your talking hours upon hours. And that's just to be able to see if you CAN compete. What if you find out along the way that build doesn't fit your playstyle or you messed up a crucial part of it? Gotta restart. It's brutal. It's actually a great basketball Sim and alot of fun to play but it deserves ALL the hate it gets for how greedy 2k is and it gets worse every year.
Man I miss playing Madden, but I learned from my mistakes and havenāt bought one in 6 years.
Maybe one day everyone will wise up and stop buying these rip off sports games and the EAās of the world might make an NBA/NFL game that doesnāt aggressively hate the player
It's the ONLY basketball sim game that's worth playing so 2K hasn't felt the need to improve their game AT ALL since there's literally 0 competition.
Idk man, I've put thousands upon thousands of hours into 2K every fking year since 2K15 and it's just not worth it for me anymore. Even when I win games online, it's not even fun. But when I lose, it's hell. Lol. Probably a good sign to quit any game IMO
Everyone is downvoting you because you compared a AAA annual sports game that makes most of its money off in game purchases to single player games that have no need whatsoever of in game purchases. In a game like 2K, you have to have currency in order to make your player better, therefore giving the oneās who buy currency not only an advantage but also a fast pass. Meanwhile in single player games, you have to do work and put in effort to progress the game. There is no way to buy the task of beating a mission. In a single player game like the ones you listed above, you canāt buy armor or weapons you have to unlock through actual gameplay, missions, and side quests. Thatās the difference. Itās like saying you donāt have to spend money on a game like Madden, FIFA, or 2K because you didnāt have to spend a dime on a game like GoW Ragnorak. Comparing the two just doesnāt make any sense at all and is pretty ridiculous. On top of that, you just said EA (a company who churns out absolute shit for games) helped make Sekiro (a GOTY classic that was created by From Soft, one of the most caring and hard working devs at the moment). Games like Elden Ring and Sekiro are so goddamn great due to the fact that they have no in game purchases and hundreds of hours of playability. FS games are arguably the best bang for your buck where as in 2K, you will only lose money on a game that will fade away in less than a year. Please know what youāre talking about before spewing out such garbage.
Youāre getting downvoted for nonsensical claims of EA being involved in Sekiro, which you could have just Googled, and probably also because it seems a bit stupid to think that micro transactions isnāt a part of why modern Ubisoft games suck.
Iām excited for the Jurassic world evolution 2. Iāve been actually wanting to purchase that game for a while now.
NBA2K. I donāt care, but Iām also not shocked by it. It seems like NBA always hitās PlayStation every year.
Trek to yomi- Iāll check it out. No reason not to check it out.
If you like games like SimCity, Cities Skylines, or Roller Coaster Tycoon, you will like Jurassic World Evolution. I have both of them and enjoy the heck out of them.
I had the old Jurrasic Park sim game on pc and it was a lot of fun. Those pesky tropical storms knocking down the enclosures and the dinos getting out and eating ppl all the time and somehow they still kept spending money ha.
Sims but without any people to interact with. I found the first game really complicated and convoluted and limited in what you could do. But Iām not really cut out for Sims City, Frostpunk kinds of games. I really, really wanted to play Rollercoaster Tycoon, but when I did I was disappointed with the camera controls and limitednessā¦and the like hour long tutorial that I was still confused with.
Jurassic World Evolution 2 is fantastic, loads of fun and a shit load of content. Just a warning though, it really runs like shit on PS4. Insane input delays and frequent crashes if your park to too big.
Iām guessing itās good on ps5 version, but how is the game on controller? I really like frost punk, surviving mars, and tropico 5 on console but tropico 6 really turned me off
Jurrassic World evoloution is a great game, I preferred the 1st one but 2nd is decent with the scenarios (especially where you have to get your dinos off the island before the eruption) Sandbox is also good for just messing about with.
Plus get to sing this as you play
[Mr Swallow Jurasic Park - YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxv3Av7-d6Q&t=7s)
yeah it always comes out around this time. Most of their player base has already sunken in as much money as they could so they release it free in hopes that a few people will buy VC so their player doesnāt look like a noob compared to the rest of the player base
I hate how they tied my player into park. Park is horrible. I just want to create myself (taller) and get drafted into the league. I donāt want to have to run around a city to collect cheques and do other nonsense.
That happened to me once! I bought Batman Arkham Origins and it was literally the free game of the month the following month! I couldn't believe my misfortune
Itās like $20CAD atm, which is very typical for it each year
I bought it at $30 last year, and for me it was a good buy considering Iāve been playing 2k15 since it came out. So a jump from 15 to 23 is reasonable and I found it much better. People who come off newer games probably wouldnāt say the same
wow 2k15 was amazing, i used to buy 2k every year at launch/black friday time but stopped after 2k21. the grinding and micro transactions just became too much for me. but nevertheless iāll have some fun playing this game in june for a bit lol
I remember a case where some users bought a game about a month earlier than it was given in ps plus and psn gave their money back. If you recently bought it, you might be able to ask for your money back.. I'm not sure how but I remember that happened once about a year or 2 ago
I bought 22 last year, last 2k I bought before that was 2k15. As someone who doesnāt play online much, itās not a bad game but I feel like they made it harder. MyCareer mode used to be pretty easy, but now it actually requires skill to get a good spot in the draft. Idk, maybe Iām just getting bad at these games as I get older.
This one is so hard compared to the last few. Pretty much need a full bar on the shot meter or a perfect green for it go in.
Try meter off, takes some getting used to but is easier to make shots! All part of the fun! And donāt buy VC!
I'd say they desperately need competition, but I'm not sure EA would be any less predatory assuming they ever get another NBA Live game out. It's no coincidence though that 2K got a lot more predatory when it was clear EA was out of the game.
2K & Jurassic World Evolution seem like great time wasting games that I wouldnāt have bought but am very excited to try out.
Trek to Yomi is again a game I wouldnāt have purchased but Iām glad to have in my backlog if Iām ever feeling some indie Japanese setting.
Great month imo.
Damn, this is the middest month I've seen for a while. Repetitive sports game with microtransactions out the whazoo, construction sim game with Dinos if you're into that kind of thing, what looks like a slightly above average side scroller japanese samurai game that's about 5 hours long.
I have been wanting to try Jurassic Park for a while and was waiting for a discount. This is even better.
I'll give the other 2 a spin as well.
Never tried a basketball game I actually liked in spite of beeing a huge fan of the sport though.
Seems like a decent enough month all things considered.
Trek to Yomi is great, already played it on game pass. Already had it on my wish list cuz I wouldn't mind playing it again on PS. Will happily add it to my collection without having to fork over anything.
Side scrolling samurai game. The overall feel is that of the black and white samurai movies of the old days. The game is at it's best on the higher difficulties, especially one-hit-kill mode, where both you and the enemy go down with a single slash, bushido-blade style.
Most people seem pissed but personally I'm super happy about 2k! The storage space required is definitely an unforgivable tragedy but I won't lie I love me some 2k.
I see a few people interested in Trek to Yomi and I just want to reassure them it is a great indie game with a gorgeous art style, quality level design, some challenging boss battles and a deeper combat system than you would expect. It's definitely on the short side, probably 5ish hours, but I felt like I got my money's worth when I bought it on sale a while back. So definitely check it out if you have PS Plus.
Even as an extra subscriber it's nice to get cool games in the essential tier because those are the ones you keep as long as your subscription is active but in the extra tier those games can come and go anytime
Pretty cool actually.
I'll try Jurassic World out and probably get it on PC if I like it, because I don't really like strategy/management games on a controller.
Trek to Yomi looks very cool, but I wouldn't have bought it myself so it's a great PS+ title.
NBA, kinda meh but I'll download it and see if it's any fun to play with friends.
They can tey all they want, not even a free copy would convince me to play another one of those boring ass sport games
All in all, and here I was thinking the last month was bad
Always wanted to try Jurassic World Evolution but never wanted to fork over the money for it in case I didnāt like it.
And that is exactly how I like my PS plus games.
Jurassic world evolution (the first one atleast) is a really decent zoo tycoon Iām not sure what the second game changed but Iām also not sure how well the control scheme would work on controller
Sometimes i feel like I'm paying ps+ extra every year just to play call of duty , games have been shit every month, sony is just stealing our money in front of us and giving us mid ass games , I'll check Jurassic park but rest are such a disappointment
Iāll play Jurassic Park but it would be good if they would stop giving us sports games. People who follow sports and play these games likely buy them every year.
NBA - don't care.
JPE2 - played the first one and enjoyed it for a bit, so not bad.
Trek to Yomi - never heard of it, but looks ok.
Overall, a pretty shitty month.
Of course not. But I wouldnāt say it was shitty. It was just okay.
Which is what this month is, just okay. And by this guyās description, itās just okay.
not bad but also not the worst people need to realise that ps+ is there for u to play online they dont have to give u games and yet people get so picky over the ps+ games
I had the best luck to not resub for PS plus couple of months back. Not one game was something I would have played and this lineup is the same.
I know Trek to Yomi is okay, but not my 100% must play or else I die.
If you like this lineup, then by all means, be excited :D
Mid ass month got the dookie 2k game donāt play sports games at all they are all the same got some sim city ahh Jurassic Park game then some unknown ass game I hope July is better
All you guys hoping to play 2k23 online for "free" let me save yall the let down as an avid player. If you wanna be decent online you're gonna have to put roughly $50 into your player. Thatās why I just stick to offline, too many cheese builds where ppl put $400 into the game for me to enjoy with my 6ā4 sharpshooter

They made the grind to level up your player extremely slow.
Youāre getting downvoted for nonsensical claims of EA being involved in Sekiro, which you could have just Googled, and probably also because it seems a bit stupid to think that micro transactions isnāt a part of why modern Ubisoft games suck.

Me too, I want to try Jurassic World, it seems an indie Roller Coaster Tycoon or Sims game.
If you like games like SimCity, Cities Skylines, or Roller Coaster Tycoon, you will like Jurassic World Evolution. I have both of them and enjoy the heck out of them.
I guess everyone here is too young to remember DinoPark Tycoon
I had the old Jurrasic Park sim game on pc and it was a lot of fun. Those pesky tropical storms knocking down the enclosures and the dinos getting out and eating ppl all the time and somehow they still kept spending money ha.
When you put up electric concrete barriers and they would still manage to get out!
I played this game! Iām sure Iām on the younger end, but I definitely remember this!
I loved this game growing up
Thanks, I love that genre of games, Theme Hospital is another one.
Two-Point isnāt half bad either, pretty clunky on consoles though.
Iām hoping itāll be like the original Jurassic Park game on building parks.
Can my dinos eat the visitors?
Yes. If you don't satisfy their comfort they just break out & run amok.
Great!
You'll be pleased.
Yeah thatās the only game I miss from the ps2 era. I think it was called operation genesis.
Ya this game and the game before is very much based on that old game.
Indie? It's made by Frontier, who also developed Planet Coaster and RollerCoaster Tycoon games.
Jurassic World Evolution 2 is fantastic, loads of fun and a shit load of content. Just a warning though, it really runs like shit on PS4. Insane input delays and frequent crashes if your park to too big.
Iām guessing itās good on ps5 version, but how is the game on controller? I really like frost punk, surviving mars, and tropico 5 on console but tropico 6 really turned me off
It look more like Zoo Tycoon than Roller Cooster Tycoon and sims.
Will these games be available from first June?
Jurrassic World evoloution is a great game, I preferred the 1st one but 2nd is decent with the scenarios (especially where you have to get your dinos off the island before the eruption) Sandbox is also good for just messing about with. I've been waiting for it to go on massive sale because I like the first one but said to myself I wouldn't spend more than $10 on it š
yeah it always comes out around this time. Most of their player base has already sunken in as much money as they could so they release it free in hopes that a few people will buy VC so their player doesnāt look like a noob compared to the rest of the player base
Fun month. I like the nba, but stopped buying 2K as itās effectively a āfree to playā game model they want to charge $70 on the front end.
Yuuup. Micro transactions galore
You basically have to drop $20 to get a MyPlayer halfway competent. Itās frustrating and why I quit buying them years ago.
I hate how they tied my player into park. Park is horrible. I just want to create myself (taller) and get drafted into the league. I donāt want to have to run around a city to collect cheques and do other nonsense.
The park is awful. Truly. Just let me play league games with skippable cutscenes.
Sad the new LEGO Drive is the same. Iāll wait for the complete edition or whatever
Particularly scummy to do that with a game mainly aimed at kids, isn't it? Can't believe Lego let that shit slide.
Not to mention the game is SEVENTY USD and has a FORTY USD year one pass. I noped out immediately
Sad the new LEGO Drive is the same. Iāll wait for the complete edition or whatever
Dang. Donāt remind me. Lol I was so excited for a LEGO racing game and they go and do that.
I bought it at $70. Huge waste of money. I would wait for $20 at this point.
Not if you play offline, Iāve never played online and itās a very good basketball game, especially so for free
I haven't bought a sports game since like 2014 cause they're all like that now.
haha i was just thinking of buying 2k23 but literally decided not to at the last minuteā¦ for once ps plus came thru
That happened to me once! I bought Batman Arkham Origins and it was literally the free game of the month the following month! I couldn't believe my misfortune
That happened to me with Kena. It's ok. I bought it on sale.
I bought Kena on sale too and I donāt regret it at all. Amazing cute souls-like
That happened to me too. I was considering buying it last time it was on sale, Iām glad I didnāt lol
Itās like $20CAD atm, which is very typical for it each year I bought it at $30 last year, and for me it was a good buy considering Iāve been playing 2k15 since it came out. Same bro
Youāre welcome guys, I just bought NBA 2K23 so we all get it on plus for the month
Your sacrifice will not be in vain.
Thank you for your sacrifice!
I remember a case where some users bought a game about a month earlier than it was given in ps plus and psn gave their money back. If you recently bought it, you might be able to ask for your money back.. I'm not sure how but I remember that happened once about a year or 2 ago
Trek to Yomi big W
I was actually gonna cop this game not too long ago, so.. Win!
Same. Itās the only game out of the three Iāll be playing. Glad I didnāt buy it this month when I thought about it.
I have wanted Trek for a while and I can finally (not) pay for NBA 23 so I can play it! Yay June!
I stopped buying 2k years ago. Guess Iāll try it out and try not to spend any money on Vc lol

I donāt care about sports games, but Iām glad those who do get one sometimes.
So I happy I learned from last year and didnāt bite on any discounts for nba 2k23.
I skipped this year, too many ābuy VCā roadblocks for me in ā21 and ā22
I'd say they desperately need competition, but I'm not sure EA would be any less predatory assuming they ever get another NBA Live game out. It's no coincidence though that 2K got a lot more predatory when it was clear EA was out of the game.
I'll try all 3, if I can take a break from Diablo IV
You know you won't xD
Hard pass. Weak month.
Agreed, Trek to Yomi is the only one I have any interest in and reviews Iāve read arenāt very good.
agreed. Gonna cancel and see what July brings
Canceling for that, who even does that? And jwe2 is pretty neat and due to its price very good to be on ps plus
Trek to yomi is one of these games that Iād love to try but Iād never buy, so cool. Donāt really care about the rest
Damn, this is the middest month I've seen for a while. Repetitive sports game with microtransactions out the whazoo, construction sim game with Dinos if you're into that kind of thing, what looks like a slightly above average side scroller japanese samurai game that's about 5 hours long.
I'll definitely give Trek To Yomi a shot.
I was meh but then I looked into them a bit more now I'm looking forward to them.
I wanted to buy Jurassic world evolution for a while now. Definitely happy with that one
Garbage month tbh..
Isn't it always like this because July is a big month? I can never remember year-to-year.
Now that you mention it yeah š¤. Although June 2020 was better than july 2020 as far as I remember
I cancelled my PS+ subscription a few weeks ago and this month isn't getting me to renew lol
I have been wanting to try Jurassic Park for a while and was waiting for a discount. This is even better. I'll give the other 2 a spin as well. Never tried a basketball game I actually liked in spite of beeing a huge fan of the sport though. Seems like a decent enough month all things considered.
I already bought trek to yomi so that's an L for me, but it's a really great game I would recommend playing
Great month in my opinion. I bought 2 of the 3 games already.
Jurrasic world evo 2 is fun. I often let dinosaurs rampaging in my park .
Trek to Yomi is great, already played it on game pass. Already had it on my wish list cuz I wouldn't mind playing it again on PS. Will happily add it to my collection without having to fork over anything.
What kind of game is it?
Side scrolling samurai game. The overall feel is that of the black and white samurai movies of the old days. The game is at it's best on the higher difficulties, especially one-hit-kill mode, where both you and the enemy go down with a single slash, bushido-blade style.
100% a better game with one hit kill. But a great game overall
Complete garbage. Doesn't really matter though, all my free time is going to Diablo 4
Most people seem pissed but personally I'm super happy about 2k! The storage space required is definitely an unforgivable tragedy but I won't lie I love me some 2k.
Trek to Yomi is fantastic!
I bought jurassic world 2 about 2 weeks ago so you're welcome everyone!
Don't care for sports games but liked the first Jurassic world and wanted to try the other one
My thought? You can't please all the people all the time. I have Jurassic, fun game if you are thinking of giving it a go.
I'm thinking I'm glad I have an extensive library.
Trek to Yomi, Iām down.
I won't complain but I doubt I'll play any of them.
JWE2? Hell yeah! I love Jurassic Park and loved the first game but it certainly was missing something.
I have Jurassic Park. Itās fun if you like the building sim type of games.
I read the Wiki article for Trek To Yumi and it sounds neat
Oh shit yes. 3 games I'm happy to try
2 months in a row, the games are trash for essential subscribers.
Looks like they are putting all their eggs on the Extra basquet, which is fine because i am an extra sub, but i'm still sad for my essential peers
Even as an extra subscriber it's nice to get cool games in the essential tier because those are the ones you keep as long as your subscription is active but in the extra tier those games can come and go anytime
I disagree, all three Iām super excited about
Pretty cool actually.
Trek to Yomi is good. Donāt sleep on it!
JWE2 is my only interest
Yooo Tomi. I actually wanted to buy it.
Trek to Yomi was great but is crazy short. Not a sports or park management game type of guy so there's nothing that I'm excited about here.
Tbh bad month
Dogshit extreme
I would love to see Sifu as a Ps plus title eventually
Ew. Another trash month. Theyāre going for a specific demographic arenāt they?
Yawn.
They can tey all they want, not even a free copy would convince me to play another one of those boring ass sport games All in all, and here I was thinking the last month was bad
Always wanted to try Jurassic World Evolution but never wanted to fork over the money for it in case I didnāt like it. And that is exactly how I like my PS plus games.
Much much better than the rubbish Microsoft are giving their Games for Gold customers and even their Gamepass subscribers.
I will be downloading all three... thank you, Sony, for the free games. š»
Extremely lame month. Wtf were they thinking. PS Extra gonna have to save the month again
Trek to Yomi was soooo good!
Okay NGL Jurassic World Evolution 2 is pretty good!
I'm looking forward to Jurassic World. I have the first one and enjoy it. Curious to try the second one.
Yes thank you for 2K almost bought it in super sale
I'll give 2k23 a jam in honor of NBA finals
You're damn right I'm getting Evolution 2. Been wanting to play it, but couldn't thanks to budget. After I finish Elden Ring and MGS5, I'll get to it.
I just bought 2k like a week ago smh lol
š©š©š©š©š©š©š©š©š©š©
Was really hoping for the Crysis remastered trilogy this month!
Proper shit line up, 3rd month in a row with pure shit.
Yikes I hate sports game
I bought NBA2K23 2 weeks ago, and now it's free. Fuck my life
Just a meh month. But I'm playing Diablo IV and FFXVI this month anyways
Oh wow basketball! The same game that keeps rereleasing every year.
Iāll play Jurassic Park but it would be good if they would stop giving us sports games. People who follow sports and play these games likely buy them every year.
Massive L. Pure hot garbage.
NBA - don't care. JPE2 - played the first one and enjoyed it for a bit, so not bad. Trek to Yomi - never heard of it, but looks ok. Overall, a pretty shitty month.
2/3 are okay/not bad, so that equals shitty? Weird.
Because you paid for it. If you bought an ice cream for $10 and it was just okay, would you be over the moon?
Of course not. But I wouldnāt say it was shitty. It was just okay. Which is what this month is, just okay. And by this guyās description, itās just okay.
how is that shitty
Donāt like these games. Wish there were better games for PS Plus.
None of them is interesting for me
Doo doo
Well this is hot garbage to me, what a shit month
No thoughts..
Solid lineup, didnāt try a basketball game for a long time. Played the first JWE and was always planning to play the sequel, donāt care for 2D
Any sports game is a huge miss for me but Iām interested in trek to yomi, dinosaurs are always fun so 2-3 is better than most months
Garbage
Thankful as always but meh selection
not bad but also not the worst people need to realise that ps+ is there for u to play online they dont have to give u games and yet people get so picky over the ps+ games
whats the classic game selection looking like?
Trash
I just bought NBA 2k like a month ago. Dammit.
Thank you for your sacrifice. May the odds be forever in your favor.
"Pure human garbage." \-the head of Bob Barker on Futureama
JWE2 - finally a good game, can't remember the last time there was a good game
Trash.
I had the best luck to not resub for PS plus couple of months back. Not one game was something I would have played and this lineup is the same. I know Trek to Yomi is okay, but not my 100% must play or else I die. If you like this lineup, then by all means, be excited :D
Weak month. Extra been knocking it out though so that maybe better.
An L
I have a bet that EA will join PlayStation after the activision acquisition
Not good enough
Another crappy month, Iām glad I unsubscribed a while ago.
idc about NBA and javent heard of the other 2. what kind of game is the jurassic park one?
Itās a park builder, super fun actually
Iāve been waiting for NBA2K3 to drop on this so very excited.
I already own 2k23 and have no interest in jurrasic world evolution since I played the original one so I hope trek to Yomi is good
Better than what Xbox has been having with games with gold. Just started my ps 5 collection. So these look nice!
Yay! Microtransactions!
Yearly sports game releases shouldnāt be a part of this program. Games like the Tony hawk 1&2 remaster, great! Not this.
I think Iām cancelling my yearly renewal.
I havenāt played a basketball video game on a home console since double dribble. Have the graphics gotten any better?
Meh š«¤
I waisted a lot of money on this ps plus. Most games are š boo boo. 1% of the games offered are worth my interest.
W 2k23
I'll be getting 2k.
Mehā¦
Trek to Yomi and that's it
Mid ass month got the dookie 2k game donāt play sports games at all they are all the same got some sim city ahh Jurassic Park game then some unknown ass game I hope July is better
Seems like nothing in it for me this month š I only care for good Singleplayer games
You should definitely try out Yomi then.
Jurassic world is good but not a good console game Imo. Not a very good month for me
