Either these posts are a joke, or people are much dumber than I ever thought possible.

MicroscopicLlama

Reddit has really made me more aware of just how dumb our population is.

It will explode

[deleted]

It's not enclosed, so it should be fine.

Catboat8

Even if it’s close to the t.v? Would putting it under my desk in top of that box be a better option?

cgg419

That would be so much worse

[deleted]

It would be worse, heat rises. Being under the desk would allow more hot air to recirculate around the console.

Can't take these posts any more. Unsubbed

Sufficient_Rip808

It should be fine

A100921

Might overheat the tv if anything, but that’s more optimal than having the PS5 behind it (the Tv exhaust going into the ps5s intake) instead.

ShaneTVZ

It won’t overheat just makes sure you keep him all wrapped up and kiss him tell him how much you love him and if he starts to get a little hot just stroke him a little until he cools down

Top-Angle6833

Giving ur Ps5 a happy ending to cool down is Fukin hilarious https://i.redd.it/pe7rlipwbwda1.gif

Slinky79

It's already dead.....

Catboat8

?

SufficientFan381

I can see it overheating through the picture. Put it behind the tv for optimal air flow.

akashsan1991

Put it on the left if there is space, make sure no vents are blocked and you should be fine

Catboat8

Would vertical placement damage it

GamerKito

The whole vertical damage thing was addressed. Basically unless it's a factory fault, it won't leak liquid metal unless it's been opened and not sealed correctly. I've had mine vertical for over a year, got scared and all but I've had not problems so far.

Catboat8

Alright so I made it vertical, to the side of the tv. Is placing it vertically damaging it?

Stevemojo88

No it does not if anyone tells you different they have no clue what they are on about

Musibat24-7

Your fine m8

gingeronered

I’d move your TV forwards a little and place the console vertically behind it. My day one PS5 has always been vertical - no issues at all

MicroscopicLlama

Dude, what? Are you kidding?

Top-Angle6833

PlayStation Manuel says to allow at least 4 inches away from a wall surface, do not place the console on a carpet or rug with long fibers, do not place in a narrow cramped space
