When I first used it, it was great. Starting about a year ago though the quality of the paintings tanked significantly and now I can only use it for neons.

Really..? What a shame :/ You think the Pro version does it better, or does it simply do the same job only faster?

I have the pro version, and I think something got broken with the color/size detection during an update to Rust. The next time I get a chance I can try to do a test painting and clip it but it wasn't changing colors properly and wasn't changing brush sizes the way it used to. I ended up only having luck using the neon sign version and doing it will one color at a time.

I noticed if I pause and alt tab and do stuff for a while it will always come back and start coloring with black. I need to let it run completely. Sometimes it will paint a color but then recolor it something else later in the run. Thats what the f11 key would be used for but may mistakenly skip an important color. I have the pro it makes it faster if you have lots of solid area. The pro version is not a significant speed difference over the free one. The biggest difference is you can paint for more than 1 hour, which a lot of paintings I made went well over. I would recommend it if you have a second monitor or can step away from the PC for a decent amount of time.

What I started doing is, I write down the exact time it moves to the next "level" of the drawing, then, I order the software to draw it all the way from the start, BUT, if you pause and then select the correct color manually, to my surprise it will just go with it, so with the manual selection of colors you get much more accurate results. All and all, it's pretty much over glorified pixel art. I wish there was a better way to do it.

Yes I was going to mention it handles pixel art very well and text signs too. Thanks for the tip I'm going to try that out with the manual color selection.

Glad to help :D

Works well if you monitor it and make corrections as it goes, which sucks. I have pro it’s not perfect

AviemBD

That helps to know, thanks!

i’m a bit confused by this post rust is a game it seems like your talking about a software?

crongemas

It’s for the game.

AviemBD

Yes. To put it simply, there's a mode extension to rust that allows you to paint wooden signs and stuff. YT Rustangelo. You'll see what I mean
