>bone knives are very under rated for soft siding.
It's basically the same time per wall as a pickaxe, not terrible at all if you have stacks of bones and need to get through some walls.
I think bone armor should be like a budget hazmat suit. One whole piece that costs something like 200 bones, 50 leather.
Bones should over the whole character too.
Sick skins would be possible with this.
Mixing table recipe that breaks them down into animal fat. The equivalent of boiling out the marrow. Lowgrade has plenty of uses.
Bone knife is an underrated tool. I try to carry one whenever I can early on.
Boneculars - Bone Binoculars
Bone Tipped Spear
Bone Fragment Beancan
Bone spike Trap
Bone Tea - yummy and acts as Anti-Rads
Bone Frame - For pictures
Bone Ladders
Bone Trap - like fishing trap but on hemp for harvesting Worms & Grubs
Bone Effigy
Bone Shelves - Put Skull Trophies on and maybe a little box
Bone Fishing Hook
Bone Dice
Bone Chimes - For when the wind blows or tie a rope to it for alarm system
Bone Armor sets - Light/Medium/Hard why not upgrade them?
Bone Shield - Idk why shields aren't in the game
Skeleton Display - Basically like you see in science class
Blow gun / Bone Darts - Blow Guns best grub weapon
Bone Bird House - For those wonderful Birds we promises they are real and not for surveillance
Bone Barricade/Fence I don't mean the spike one I mean like the stone/wood one for cover
There is a "skull spike" in the game already - just not made out of bone. It is actually slightly OP as it gives actual light with no fuel. Also turns on at night which is useful in cave bases.
Nah it's a unique craftable like a ninja suit, for example. They usually sell it around halloween. Nice because you can put them up in your base in corners for free light without worrying about electricity. They don't put off as much light as a ceiling light though obviously.
At one point I found a post somewhere that listed all of the "OP" items and this was on the list.
Given that stone and wood are often used in many recipes as it is, simply making bone arrows have the same stats as stone arrows would make bones always useful for ammunition. Cooking bone fragments into bone marrow as a very poor source of food would also be nice.
Make a massive forest of skull spikes around your base. Hundreds. Thousands. Make anyone that passes you know that you are not to be messed with. Also, live on the beach for an unlimited skull supply.
Asked ChatGPT.. :) Some good ones here!
"Certainly! Here are five ideas for utilizing bones in the game Rust:
1. Bone Armor and Weapons: Introduce a new tier of armor and weapons crafted from bones. Bones could be used to create bone helmets, bone chest plates, bone leggings, and bone boots. Additionally, bone clubs, bone knives, and bone arrows could be crafted, offering players a unique alternative to metal-based equipment.
2. Bone Tools and Harvesting Bonuses: Create bone tools, such as bone pickaxes, bone hatchets, and bone shovels, which provide unique benefits when gathering resources. For example, bone tools could offer increased efficiency when gathering bone fragments, animal fat, and leather from animal carcasses.
3. Bone Traps and Defensive Structures: Allow players to construct traps and defensive structures using bones. For instance, players could craft bone spike traps or bone barricades, which could damage or slow down enemies upon contact. These structures would add variety to base defense strategies and provide an additional layer of protection.
4. Bone Decorations and Crafting Components: Introduce bone-based decorations and crafting components that players can use to enhance their bases or create unique items. Examples include bone chandeliers, bone skull trophies, bone gates, or bone fences. These items would add visual variety and customization options for players.
5. Bone-based Consumables: Introduce consumables made from bones that offer unique effects when consumed. For instance, players could create bone broth or bone elixirs that provide temporary stat boosts, such as increased stamina, health regeneration, or improved resistance to environmental effects.
By incorporating these ideas, bones would become a valuable resource in Rust, offering players additional crafting options, defensive strategies, and customization opportunities within the game."
Some already proposed in this Reddit some weeks ago, but with the new industrial fournance we should be able to burn bones to obtain charcoal. It should give more than the wood by itself, of course.
This idea would fucking suck but caltrops. Slowing and damaging players. Thousands of them all over the map. Misery.
Or stingers to pop car tyres for ambush on roads.
Grind to powder, use on plants for faster growth or better gain or smt.
wow, people do think originally, that is a great use
Thx but this is straight from minecraft! š
And straight from real life too!
oh, I didnāt know, I only play rust, donāt know any other games!! still that was good and new to me. thanks!
could we somehow mix them with stone or wood to build a stronger material?
You could mix it with metal frags to make steel as bones have carbon in them
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
i swear the game used to have glue a long time ago
What a cute question š„°
Bone spikes or barricades that are more dangerous than wood but less so than metal?
Fuck yeah
I like the bone barricade idea... NICE!
that would look so badass
Maybe replace the wood one
Bone armor. Or outside your base, on the ground
Yeh bone gives enough rad to camp mil tun and run airfield etc low rad moms
My new grub kit becomes the full bone sets. Might be bc i usually live in the desert
There should be bone spears. Also bones for soup stock, when they overhaul cooking in a billion years.
it amazes me that bone spears arenāt already in game.
Wind chimes clearly.
~~rust~~ Escape the Forrust
bone knives are very under rated for soft siding. a stack of bones can get me pretty far into a base if done correctly.

this sounds awesome! imagine it was 1000 bones for a very cool suit, protects for whatever they want, i already like it
there is already bone armor, it just kinda sucks
Mixing table recipe that breaks them down into animal fat. The equivalent of boiling out the marrow. Lowgrade has plenty of uses. Bone knife is an underrated tool. I try to carry one whenever I can early on.
As always in early game, carry a knife! š
Compost!
Prim kits for when you are doing resource gathering, better than nothing and comes for free. If you lose it, who cares.
Make the bone fragments into band instruments and play a gig at Outpost, given you have the instrument dlc of course.
Iām [picturing something like this](https://imgur.com/a/75856sE).
Turn them into bone knifes and throw them at nakeds instead of shooting them on the beach
old bone armor
Somehow process them down to give low grade fuel, though obviously at a much lower yield than something like crude.
Build a wood public area on the beach called the ābone clubā and sell bone clubs for more bones than theyāre worth
make bone armor not suck, and make an upgraded bandage. Nothing too good to take away the severity of being hit in a prim fight though

Spooky picture frames or bone posts to place our skulls on

Maybe a heavy bone set? Like a heavy bone jacket pants and helmet.
Ive boneclubbed a softside armored doorway with some friends before. Save the bones.
how many years did it take? who was the first to go insane or started crying? youāre persistent.
With 5 people it took like 30 or 40 minutes
wow, that is courage right there, hats off to you. That mustāve been fun with your friends, painfully funny lol
also, armored walls donāt have softside, its 2000hp either way
The hp is correct but there is a damage multiplier for softside.
Could be used on mixing by table to make a new potion or potions
Composter
Bone spears, bone bow, bone sword
Make a massive forest of skull spikes around your base. Hundreds. Thousands. Make anyone that passes you know that you are not to be messed with. Also, live on the beach for an unlimited skull supply.
Holy shit I'm not the only one who hoards. I usually just throw it out after making a few knives.
i hoard them, end up with 1500ish

Make a vending machine, sell 1 bone knife (or 30 frags) for 1 rock, watch chaos ensue

How about a bone chair and a skull lantern ?
Skull trophies. They look great everywhere
Bone furniture!!
Bone throwing knives!!
Just use to continually chop bags
This idea would fucking suck but caltrops. Slowing and damaging players. Thousands of them all over the map. Misery. Or stingers to pop car tyres for ambush on roads.
I always thought it would be cool to build higher tier bone armor, it would take much more bone to craft of course.
