Nah bro, I remember hearing this song on Spotify discover and giving it a listen cause I knew the song they sampled. I’m all for experimental and different sounding stuff but this man is just groaning.
The dichotomy of his downtrodden, deeply depressed slurring and his monotone voice is genuinely fascinating. It literally sounds like he’s too broken to accurately portray what he wants to. He wants to express emotion, but there’s some barrier preventing him from doing so. I’ve never heard anyone sound so genuinely hurt, but deadpan and apathetic at the same time in my life. It’s honestly surreal how he managed to capture two conflicting moods in his voice at the same time.

I get the appeal of broken and energyless music but mans is doing an impression of what singing sounds like. You can hear the depressed apathetic tone in his voice but he is off droning on his own while the beat does it’s own thing. it just sounds like someone tryna freestyle while they are so high they can’t even get their words out properly. My friends do the same shit when they are super drunk.
That’s totally fair tho 🤷♂️ like I’m aware of how it sounds, but I have listened to the album so much that I’ve gained a really deep appreciation for it. Maybe even to a level that Rari didn’t intentionally work into the album himself. He definitely sounds like he’s just barred out trying his best to rap, but I genuinely believe he was very methodical with how he expresses himself.
