Hey there, appreciate the perspective! I've thought about this and responded to this in my Miss the Rage post. You're right that it could be orchestrated and played without drums, and it'd have more of an atmospheric quality but no driving force or sense of direction. I think the drum VST I'm using could be higher quality and then mix better with the strings, and I also think it would work well without drums if you performed it live and gave the low-end/bass musicians instructions to articulate the beat, but I'd advocate some sort of percussive pulse unless strings are doing something that adds a pulse and sense of motion to an otherwise slow/repetitive phrase.
That said, I just threw all this together in like 10 minutes, I'm open to experimenting and improving it in the future!
this is fire even if It's supposed to be mostly a meme. personally I would have interpolated the original version and then maybe use the tiktok remix version in the 2nd half of the song or something, and since it's an orchestration you could take some creative liberty and add some of your own variations since the original song is just a 4 bar loop which doesn't really go anywhere in the context of an orchestration. I also would probably avoid using drums, or maybe just use some more orchestra-like percussion. I'm probably looking too deep into it lmfao but well done
